Steve's Express really is the best in the area. I always get excellent service; the staff call me by name every time I bring my car in. Unlike with other mechanics, I've never felt like Steve and his staff are trying to take advantage of my female gender or my lack of knowledge about cars. In fact, last time I was there, he told me there was a problem developing with my water pump, but it didn't need to be fixed right away. He told me what warning signs to watch out for, a range of time in which to bring the car back, and gave me an estimate. Since money is tight for everyone these days, I really appreciate Steve's for providing such great service, while also not freaking me out or having me incur unnecessary expenses. as always, i lagged until the most inconvenient time to get maintenance done for my car. i have a 2009 nissan versa and needed my right headlight replaced asap. steve's express was one of the only auto repair places still open - it was a saturday around 4 p.m., so i decided to give them a call and see if they could squeeze me in. the man on the phone was extremely friendly and helpful. he asked what i needed and quoted me $20 for the parts and maintenance. i know if i youtubed it or something, i could've probably replaced the bulb myself, but that definitely did not happen. him and a mechanic took a look at my car and called me to come outside 2 mins later. they showed me that i had a brake light that was out as well, so i gave them the ok to replace that also. anyway, it only took about 15 mins from when i walked in to when i paid and left, and they replaced my brake light without any additional charge from the original quote. i didn't feel like a burden to them, even though i was the annoying customer that came in 30 mins before closing. overall a great experience and i'll definitely be coming back to get all my other maintenance done here from now on. read more

Art and crew always come through. There's a reason why they're so busy 100% of the time! Always willing to work with me through any situation with what seems to be honest and quality work. I never rush them but since I live across the street I just say take your time and call me when you're done. I've been in the business a long time and this is my go to shop in the area. Recently my alternator went out, I had shady tree diagnosed it myself but didn't have the proper space to change it or the proper tool for my belt. I told Art what I thought it was and he was cool about it and just said they'd make sure and let me know if it was otherwise. Plus they shaved a half hour of labor off which was great compared to other shops who had quoted me. Nice place to deal with and Id give them a Five star rating all day long! read more

Man these people are crooks. Stop by after my check engine light came on and they said I need all these repairs. So after I dropped all this $$ on my Saturn it now drives worst than ever! It is still shocking to me that a repair shop can be SO freakin nice/honest!! Came in a few times cause my car was acting up and they gave truthful answers as to what to do about it without trying to persuade me to go the more costly route. These guys could have easily taken advantage of my situation but were always honest about what was best. Also, they noticed my mom's tires needed air, and filled them up for her free of charge. Dropped by because I could not get a snap ring off an A/C compressor. I was trying to find a shop who could do that little task for me. He knocked it out for me quick, and when I offered to pay he said no charge. I can't speak to the quality of his work otherwise, but that sort of goodwill service will make me drop by in the future if needed. read more

Wow - just used Steve's Express for the 1st time - well actually the 2nd time - Steve was great last week when i had a battery issue - AAA was refusing to replace their battery telling me that nothing was wrong even though i had to call the twice in 3 days (i had to jump it myself). Steve ran a more involved battery test which of course showed that the battery was bad. He knew that he wouldn't get any business (i.e. new battery) but still did NOT charge me anything! Took the car in today for oil change, A/C and also told he it was running a little rough - 2 options for the oil change and he didn't try to upsell. Car was ready as promised and they found a loose hose (explains the rough running) and juiced up the A/C - all for less than i typically pay for an oil change at Jiffy Lube I have found myself my new mechanic! read more

I went to this place for an estimate price for breaks and air conditioning. They beat all the other estimates and had my car out in no time. The mechanics are amazing at what they do. I will definitely be bringing my any car needs to Steves. They even inspected the who car for any other mechanical issues. Usually a diagnostic costs anywhere from 60$ and up. I desperately needed something fixed on my car. I'm a woman who knows nothing about cars so the reputation of this place is what made me go there and I was not disappointed. I know a lot of places will charge people outrageous prices, but make them sound legit. This place was the total opposite. They told me what they thought was wrong, looked at the car realized two more things that have to do with my wheels were broken (like I said, completely illiterate when it comes to cars). He gave me a price and I said ok. I was so desperate to get it fixed that I would have paid whatever they asked, but when I went back in, Johnny (I think that was his name) showed me exactly what was broken and how it broke. He then said they didn't have to replace everything he originally thought he would, so my price would come down about $15. First time coming here and found them on yelp which got great reviews. The service is pretty awesome! I took my Lexus to get my rear brakes checked out since it was making some squeaky noises from time to time, so I thought it was time to change out the brakes. I also came here for an oil change, too. I get to the place and the guy was super helpful and friendly. I told him the problem and he said they will inspect the rear breaks but also check the front too to be on the safe side. Nice! Doesn't hurt to double check. During the wait, I bought my laptop and asked if they have WiFi...and yup they do! The guy nicely gave me the password without hesitation and I was able to connect to the internet without a problem. Kudos for having internet. I think all auto shops should have WiFi since most auto places are known to have long wait times. This will keep customers happy and entertained during their wait. So 20 mins roll by, and the mechanic comes in with my air filter. He showed it to me on how dirty it was and asked if they could clean it. I said, yup of course! Even though it was going to cost more to clean it, I like that they asked first and physically showed me how dirty the filter was. It just shows that they are not trying to bs you. After the oil change, they told me that the front and rear breaks still have 55% left to use. Woot! Glad I didn't have to change them when I didn't need to. Not sure why my rear breaks were squeaky, but i figure it's probably just dust. It's all good, I trust them though. I would definitely come back here again! read more

When looking for a mechanic I am always very skeptical. Mostly because I'm not very familiar with auto repairs. After shopping around for a while, going from shop to shop getting quotes for my three broken motor mounts I found steve's to have the best rate for my repair. Good price aside, I found the guy at the desk to be super cool. He explained to me how long the repair would take and how they were gonna replace the my broken parts. I have always left other places wondering if i got a good deal or if I should've had a second opinion but not at Steve's Express!. The owner is hands on and very trust worthy. I brought my car in for brakes and as I was waiting he called several different places to find the parts for as least expensive as possible. I also told him I needed new front and back brakes and he checked it out and told me I only needed back. He could've done both and easily charged me but didn't. I could tell from the start that this was a good person and since have trusted them with 2 other cars. We are taking our car in this week for tires. I used to live down the street from Steve's Express Automotive. Years ago, my brakes were making funny squealing noises, so I went to Steve's to get them replaced. They did an inspection and told me my brakes pads were actually still very good and that the noises were probably due to debris/dirt. They cleaned it up and handed my car back to me. I asked how much for the inspection, and they said "no charge." They really earned my respect for their honesty and quality of work. When my brakes finally wore down, I got them replaced at Steve's for a good price. I also had my major service done here, and my car is still humming along great at 150,000 miles. It's no wonder this placed is always packed with loyal customers. Make sure you arrive early to drop off your car, because they don't make appointments (from what I remember). These guys are pros. From the moment I walk in to the moment I leave. They treat everyone well and they don't flirt with us ladies, it's all business. I took my husband's car in for regular maintenance and we braced ourselves for a bill of $250 because that's the minimum the dealer charges us. Two hours after I drop off the car, it's ready and it's under $100. This is the third time I took my car in to these guys and the first two times were free because they were very minor items.
