Got in touch with him Friday, initial response was good and helpful. Said he probably couldn't come until Monday - messaged him Sunday to ask if Monday was still happening. No response. Messaged again Monday morning (Waited a few hours after people generally start working) - he messaged back an hour later saying they were trying but really busy. I totally understood. No message back on Monday, figured they were just slammed, but I'm patient. Sent a message Tuesday (giving them a little more time) asking if it would be that day. Ghosted me. No response since then whatsoever. It's a bummer because he seems so highly regarded... I guess be a pest and maybe they'll respond? I don't know. Can't trust people that can't be arsed to reply. Sorry. I don't leave a lot of bad reviews, but this kinda pissed me off because it's just not cool to be like that. After having a bad experience at Juke Auto where I had been going for years, I decided to look into mobile mechanics and went with Steve's on account of all of the positive reviews. I've used Steve's Auto twice now and both times have been great experiences. The first time was for a faulty A/C. I had tried to recharge it myself but it turns out there was a leak somewhere and finding it was above my pay grade. I texted Steve and later that afternoon he had one of his crew come to our house. Within an hour and half, the tech had identified the leak, gone to get the necessary replacement part, replaced the part and recharged the refrigerant. The cost was $125 all in. I could not have been happier about the money and stress I saved by not having to take it to a shop. The second time, my truck lost coolant and overheated as I was getting off the highway. I pulled over immediately and rather than worrying about overheating it further by driving to a shop or having to get it towed, I just left it where it was and called Steve's. He was able to have a tech come out later the next day and again, within a couple of hours they had diagnosed the problem, gotten the necessary part and repaired it for $150. This latest repair was almost identical to the one I had done at Juke Auto, which they charged $600 for. My 2013 Subaru recently started making some odd noises which got progressively worse. I suspected it was an issue with an idler pulley or something else on the serpentine belt. I contacted Steve's for service and he provided me an estimate to replace the idler pulley, belt, and tensioner within a day of first contact. He then sent Jack over to take a look a day later. Jack determined that it was the idler pulley and suggested replacing the belt and tensioner as well and said he would be back the next day with parts. Jack arrived this morning with the parts (except the tensioner due to supply chain issues) and replaced the idler pulley and belt in minutes. He checked the tensioner while he had the belt off and informed me that it didn't seem to have too much wear and would likely last a while longer. He worked up an invoice for about half the price of the original estimate since he wasn't able to replace the tensioner and I am back on the road. Jack was extremely friendly, quick, and knowledgable. If I weren't moving out of state in a couple of weeks, I would certainly continue to use Steve's Mobile Auto Care for all of my auto repair needs. Since I am moving soon, I figured I would leave this review for anyone wondering if this service is worth contacting. My answer is a definitive YES!. Don't be put off by the voice mail message complaining about Sprint's cell service (I personally thought it was funny). Instead leave a message or text Steve, you will be happy you did when you get your car fixed without having to leave it somewhere all day or sit in a waiting room and for cheaper than many of the store front auto shops around. read more

I would give more than five stars if I could! The metal plate under the oil tank of my Honda Civic came unscrewed while I was driving on Mopac and started dragging on the ground. We have an ooooold Caddy that the ABS went out of. Shop wanted close to $2500 for replacing parts with used ones. So naturally we declined and started to look around. Came across Steve via Yelp and gave him a call. Best move I've ever made. Steve came out and looked at it gave a much better price and got to work. For a while it looked like the ol' Caddy wasn't going to make it but Steve did his thing and worked diligently to fix it. Jack did the pre inspection and identified the real problem w my vehicle was the valve cover gasket not the timing cover reseal (a lot cheaper). Steve scheduled with me. Both Steve and Jack completed the work a few days later right in front of my house. They were respectful to the neighbors, kept the street clean, and kept me informed.
