    Pulled Pork
    Elithea H.

I'll start by saying the 2 Stars are completely for the food. Now, on with the review. Happened to be in the area and the husband saw this place. We went in for lunch. It appeared from the start that service wouldn't be great, but the hoped it was a fluke upon entering. It was not. We ordered the pulled pork, the wings, the baked beans and the Mac & cheese. The pulled pork would have been good if it had been even remotely hot. The baked beans were good. The wings were good. The Mac and cheese was a thick velveeta type, with a LOT of black pepper (which was the overall taste of the dish) , as well as something else that that gave it a spicy taste, and I was not a fan. The part of this place that was the biggest issue was the service. The Server was not remotely friendly. It was a very uncomfortable atmosphere and made lunch one of those "let's hurry up and get out of here" processes. After a quick bit we asked for the check, which was brought over by an another employee and literally dropped onto the table. Like with a thud! He said not one word. But other than asking what we'd like, answering a question, and asking if we needed anything at one point in a non smiling monotone, that's basically the attitude of the Server we'd had also. So no idea why we were shocked. Needless to say that we will not ever, ever be returning. I think it's important to note that service counts. To many of us, it counts as much as the actual food. I'm one of those people. Customers should feel welcome or wanted at the least. The very least. There are several other options near this place. We will do ourselves a favor in the future, and try one of those.

Brisket and ribs with potato salad and coleslaw
    Joe T.

Ribs have a good bite, pull away without falling off the bone, with a sweet, slightly sticky rub (but not overpowering - the meat still has good flavor). Brisket is good and tender - nice smoky flavor. Neither the ribs nor brisket need sauce, but the Carolina vinegar sauce is very good!! Use it sparingly to avoid overpowering the meat. Potato salad and coleslaw are good, but not outstanding. Coleslaw dressed nicely without being soupy. Both are average with no pronounced flavors. Add some Carolina vinegar sauce to the potato salad!! Generous portions all around - you'll probably need a to-go box. Service was okay - friendly people, but a bit distracted by their phones and gossip time (probably not an issue when the place is busy)

    Brisket Plate

Food and service were A1! Definitely recommend! Got the brisket plate with Mac & Cheese and beans. The staff were extremely nice and made sure everything was up to their standards.

    Sliced Brisket and Cole Slaw
    Scott L.

Stopped in for a quick bite while doing some work in town. COVID is not the ideal situation to review any restaurant - so keep that in mind. The menu is what you would expect for a BBQ joint. Settled on the Sliced Brisket with Cole Slaw as my side and an Andygator. THE BEST thing about this meal is the Brisket. It was VERY NICELY done. Would definitely eat this again. Cole slaw was okay but needed something. Texas toast was dry and bland. Service was good in a minimal sort of way. A/C was barely keeping up so it was muggy inside. Not a good thing for a southern restaurant. Overall it was good and with some tweaking could get another star.

Awesome BBQ. Been missing it since I moved back from Texas. Best I've had so far! Price is fair, too.

Easily the best smoke/BBQ place in town. Those smoked chicken wings are the bees knees.

Has anyone tried the brisket nachos?

Yes and they are amazing. Ask for extra pico if you like a lot Bc it can be slim givings. Other than that they are my absolute favorite.

Then she told me that they just had a class on food allergies This is really exceptional that a restaurant is taking up their own initiative to learn about food allergies so that they can service their customers with better care While the food is definitely excellent with the capacity to offer different options for the different dietary needs that people have and the staff is educated, I just wish that they had better coffee at the Mandeville location like a cappuccino or a café latte Still an excellent choice

We stopped in for Sunday brunch on my daughters birthday and had another fantastic meal…read more I ordered the Louisiana Crabmeat Sardou, and it was outstanding. Think eggs Benedict with a Louisiana crabmeat twist. It starts with a buttery homemade biscuit topped with a whole artichoke heart, creamed spinach, a perfectly poached egg, hollandaise, and caviar. It's served with a generous portion of lump crabmeat and a side of potatoes. With so many rich components, I expected it to be heavy, but everything was surprisingly balanced. Every bite worked together, and it was an incredibly delicious dish. My wife ordered the French Dip, which was the brunch special, and she absolutely raved about it. The shaved ribeye was incredibly tender, the Gruyère added just the right richness, and the au jus was packed with flavor. My daughter, who considers herself a burger connoisseur, insists their Brunch Burger is the best burger she's ever had. She ordered it again today, and it only reinforced that opinion. I also tried the Golden Hour cocktail, and it may have become my new favorite. I highly recommend giving it a try. From the food to the service, everything was exceptional. The service was phenomenal! It was for an anniversary, and they made sure to tell us happy anniversary, and add it to a little sign that was left on our table. Now for the main part: the food. Fried Oysters and Pork Belly - very good, if you get this make sure you eat them together (that was our "best bite" for that serving). Wedge Salad - one of the best wedge salad's we have had. The blue cheese dressing was creamy (rather than chunky blue cheese). It had crispy shoestring onion strings that almost acted as the croutons. I loved every bite that included lettuce, tomatoes, onion, and bacon. Delmonico Steak - this was probably our overall favorite item. Just a great steak, and large enough for both of us to enjoy. Redfish - this was good, not great. Would probably try something else other than this if we went back. Tchefuncte Potatoes - they almost were like a twice baked potato (flavor wise), but they are super creamy and fluffy and then turned into a lightly fried ball. Good and very unique. Crème Brûlée - if you like crème brûlée then you will enjoy it here. A classic dessert that was delicious. And to top it all off, the ambiance was great. It is right on the water, and service was very attentive.
