This place is unbelievable. Although I've never been to Thailand, I've tried countless Thai restaurants in New York City and Philadelphia and this place is m my number one, best Thai I've ever had. Here's why- The curry isn't 80% soup. When you go to typical restaurants and get Panang curry, it's a coconut milk soup mixture with a few pieces of chicken. At sticky rice it is MOUNDS of perfectly cooked chicken with just enough seasoning to coat the rice. I appreciate this not just for value, but for the fact that I eat literally every bit. The seasoning itself is so multifaceted. For the panang and green curry, the sweetness and spice hits you and just rocks your senses. It's not one dimensional. My mouth is watering as I write this. The spice is on point and not for the faint of hearts. But it's a different type of spice- not one that burns, but one that sort of evolves as you chew. The noodles are great- particularly the drunken noodles- but the curry really takes the cake. This is the first spot we come to everytime we arrive in town. TLDR version. Good not great. Expensive. Spicy means spicy. Now the details: We've tried to do takeout many times throughout the summer but each time we call, there's an hour plus wait time. Last time we decided, 'you know what, let's wait'. So we did. We waited the hour and ten minutes. Food was ready when we arrived and still warm when we got home. B Spring rolls were good but not spectacular. Curry good but average, Pad See Ew good...almost great. Pad Kee Mao...yes, the menu says spicy. Yes, spicy is underlined. But, it was too spicy. Inedible spicy. I'm no hot-head but I do enjoy some spice. I couldn't eat it. Which is sad because the beef was cooked perfectly and the dish looked great but it was just too darn hot! Finding good thai food in the Lewes/Rehoboth area can be hard, but this new restaurant definitely checks all of my boxes! The pad kee mao (drunken noodle) was the highlight of the night. The spicy garlic sauce was just right. The pad see ew was also good, but the sauce was on the sweeter side. They ran out of the wide flat rice noodles so all they had left were thin noodles for both dishes. The fried tofu was a great addition to the noodle dishes. Also tried panang curry here for the first time, and was so glad I did! Since the restaurant is named Sticky Rice, I definitely had to try out their sticky rice. Unfortunately, this was probably my least favorite part of the meal. The rice was hard and overcooked, though the presentation of the rice-- wrapped up in some sort of leaf-- was interesting. I was looking forward to trying the mango and coconut sticky rice on their dessert menu, but unfortunately, was not a fan of this either. If you're in the mood for dessert, I'd suggest going elsewhere. The thai ice tea was also overly sweetened. In terms of ease of ordering takeout, it must have been an extremely busy night because their phone line was busy for over 15 minutes, and even when someone finally did pick up, the employee was rushing my order. It took over an hour before my order was ready for pickup but... the best things in life are worth waiting for! Overall, the noodle and curry portions were reasonably priced and I would definitely recommend getting several different dishes for the table and sharing! I was thoroughly disappointed. The noodles in the Drunken Noodle was a pile of mush. The steamed broccoli I ordered for my 2yr old grand had black and brown spots all throughout. Whit rice was only a half pint and steamed vegetables was a bit of broccoli... portions were very skimpy , consistent with other reviews. They never charged us for I omissions though. The takeout dishes come in cute paper boxes that look small but the portions are very filling. Taste is authentic and genuinely spicy. The Tom Kha Soup is exceptional. Still a little slow as they work out the kitchen so order early; but a small price for fresh cooked, delicious food. By Sussex standards, this is five stars. I celebrated my daughters 17th last evening. I packed a bag of kombu/sambal/etc cause most Thai in this area lacks seasoning. So the food was really good, the proportions were on the small side. The red curry was awesome but the size of the sticky rice that you had to order separately was very small. That's the good part. The very bad part was the service which, although she was polite,the time we had to wait was insane! It was literally 50 minutes from the time we ordered our food to when it came out and in that 50 min she didn't return to our table. There were 2 separate people who waited like 20 min for their food and the ordered it over the phone. After it was all said and done the bill was like $35 for 3 people. Not that bad. Probably the most expensive takeout you will ever have (maybe it's better if you eat in). $36 bucks for dinner for ONE person. Oh, and the curry does NOT come with rice. Charging $4 for sticky rice on top of mediocre (very dry pork) curry isn't cool. Summer roll had only one shrimp, too! We got the vegetable pad Thai. It was not edible because of the strong fish sauce taste and smell and how overly sweet and sticky it was. When we asked for the check it would have been nice if the waitress would have asked if the food was okay but she did not in spite of our food basically left untouched. Sticky Rice used to be our go-to place for Thai take-out in Lewes, but the last time, just before New Year's weekend, our order was very disappointing. Summer rolls were jammed with just lettuce with one tiny shrimp. Our curry dish included no rice. If rice was extra, we should have been offered the chance to order some. Other dishes were tasty, but portions were very small, clearly not enough for three people. 1st let me say when I came here for the 1st time I was upset at my portion, but once I was able to eat it, that went away, they are very pleasant here, and the food is A1, so one day I arrived to pick up my food(you may want to order ahead of time) and the cash register just so happen to be down at the time(this is why I'm an angel on earth, to prove humanity exists) I had no cash on me(I never carry cash) so I waited patiently, I expected them to get it up and running shortly, well nothing was working, so he asked me if I could come back later to pay(honestly what business would trust that you would come back) I said are you sure, I can find an ATM and withdrawal some money, he said no its fine you can just pay later when the front store worker comes in. I felt so bad as I slowly walked out of the store while thinking of a resolution. Made it home and hours later I received a call asking if I could come in and pay, I said is it possible to pay over the phone, so I paid it. If you love Thai food and live here in Southern Delaware this is the place where you want to eat! There is another place on Route 1 where we ate at and the salt level was so high we didn't even take the leftovers home with us....Their Drunken Pad Thai is delicious! As is their Panang Curry - we got it with tofu which was great because the tofu just absorbed all the wonderful flavors! This is a "tapas Thai place" so you can order several things and enjoy....The only thing I didn't care for was the peanut sauce that came with the chicken satays - It was lacking something....maybe too much peanut and not enough other flavors that should normally be there...... read more

My boyfriend and I are always on the look out for good asian food in southern delaware, so this place sparked our interest. We're originally from major cities so our taste buds were missing very good asian food! We ordered for takeout and the lady said it would be ready in 30 mins. We ordered the summer rolls, green curry and pad thai. We asked to make the green curry the SPICIEST they could and they really delivered the spice level for my taste buds. However, they could use a Thai hot level since my boyfriend thought it could be spicier LOL It actually was ready in quicker time. We get to the restaurant and the decor is super cute! However, right now they are not open for sit down meals due to covid. The lady was very welcoming and answered all our questions. We really enjoyed our food and will come back for more.
