This place was really cute. We came on mothers day so there was a long wait (hour and half). They ended up boxing early for us though but we were out of the area so we still had to wait our full time. Once seated I got a margarita, it was delicious! It was a great classic margarita, I felt like i could taste all the different components of the drink, a little sweet, a little, tangy, a little tequila-y haha. The chicken tenders and fries were super fresh and honestly perfect. The tenders were clearly hand breaded and the honey mustard it came with was really good. If you're trying to avoid crowded restaurants because of COVID, this is *not* the place to be for dinner Thursday through Sunday. We went here for dinner on a Thursday night and it was packed! You would have never known were in the middle of a pandemic induced state of emergency. We were hoping to sit out on the patio, but the hostess told us that you have to indicate outdoor seating when you make your reservation. So now you know..... The weather was really mild, so they had all their convertible walls open, which made the entire restaurant feel like a covered patio. We felt comfortable eating inside because of this set up. I got a few oysters, which were super fresh and yummy but I did get some grittiness in my mouth. My main dish, the scallops, were delicious. The seasonal vegetables in the dish were carrots, beets, onion and sweet potato. A great mix, but unevenly salted - some parts were too salty and the others too bland. The restaurant setting is really pretty - the kind of place that makes you want to dress up cutely. We were warmly greeted by a sweet hostess. We asked to sit outside and it was no problem. Our waitress was really sweet, friendly and knowledgeable. She recommended a few drinks- I had the Saturn (I believe it was called) and it was delicious! Very Often mixed drinks can be weak or diluted but it definitely wasn't! My husband and I shared the fish tacos, truffle fries, the sliders and I ordered a chopped veggie salad. The fish tacos were delicious! He said the sliders were really good too. The salad left much to be desired as far as flavor went. The portion was great and I loved an all veggie option but the dressing was very bland. The fries were soggy, which we found odd because they came out hot! We have NEVER sent food back but my husband asked the waitress for new fries because he said they were so soggy, they were inedible. I'll eat potatoes in any state so I could have cared less, honestly. The second round of fries came out and same thing, soft soggy fries. Again, I didn't care that much but he was upset that they weren't crispy at all. Overall, the food was good with some tweaks needed. The drinks were great and it has a fun atmosphere. Really enjoyed brunch at Stir. The food was universally good and the atmosphere is upscale but not pretentious. There were a few little things that weren't perfect, but in the end we decided 4.7 stars rounds to five. The restaurant is smallish and usually packed. Reservations are highly recommended, especially for brunch. The pictures of the shelving behind the bar is legit, I didn't see any duplicates in there...although I didn't look that closely, if it's even semi common, they probably have it. In my opinion, they have too many high top tables, which can be a problem for shorter people, but ask for something else if you need to. about 11am, we sat in a low table near the doors and in the sun, which was great for two but not recommended for more because someone would have the sun in their face. But there's only a few tables like that. Food is what you go for and everything we had here was spot on. For brunch, they have a "brunch bar", which would normally be a small buffet line serving a few items - deviled eggs, potato salad are the two that I remember. Despite me usually not liking potato salad and especially not with onions, they weren't overpowering and it was really good. Main meals of the "Mix-it-up Frittata" and the Nutella waffles with strawberries were fantastic. No mimosas, but that looks like a fun thing with a larger group. The $1 mimosas come in a wine glass and my instinct says they're a better deal than the $10 mason jar pitcher, but we all know pitchers are better. Small negatives kept it from being perfect - the cloth napkin shed lint on dark pants, can you consider dark colored napkins and getting close to what a customer is wearing? The door to the mens room opens up to the mirror reflecting directly to the stalls. I mentioned the hightops earlier and is there way you might be able to add shades for the tables at the far end or outside? But these are little things and won't stop us from coming back. Had an awesome experience here last night with a friend! It was the first time dining for both of us and we were not disappointed. We had (a couple rounds of) the Elderflower Sour and the Viva La Astral cocktails - absolutely on point and came out pretty quickly for a Friday night. Shared parmesan truffle fries and the spicy chicken samosas (which where HUGE) appetizers to start; both were delicious but the samosas were probably the favorite. The chicken was flavorful with a nice kick, pastry was perfectly crisp and it was all complemented so well by the tangy chili sauce. We ended up overestimating so didn't have room for individual entrees, but we still went splitsies on the shrimp and scallop truffle mac and cheese! No regrets. They even split it into two plates for us and each portion was still plentiful. Scallops were perfectly cooked and buttery, and the sauce - oh man, creamy truffle goodness all over. Unfortunately didn't get a picture of it though. Only letdown is that we didn't get to try more things, honestly. Service was awesome and friendly, enforced social distancing guidelines and all! The bar area and bathroom give like a modern, clean Art Deco-y vibe with lots of white and rosy gold tones. Service- A++ Alyssa was new and blew it out of the park! She was fun, nice, knew when to ask questions about the menu and wasn't checking in too often or too little (truly an art form). Appetizers and wine service - A++ We got a bottle of wine and the char boiled oysters - INCREDIBLE! The wine is well priced and I love how they check in to make sure you like the bottle before opening. The oysters are so fresh, big and juicy! The minute is fresh and great pairing with the Parmesan. Although I would love a thicker sauce with more Parmesan and garlic, they did something the whole table will enjoy! Entree - A+++++ EVERYONE'S PLATE WAS CLEAN! Review Part II - post COVID restrictions My sister and I returned for her first dine-in experience since places started re-opening. STIR has done a phenomenal job complying with requirements while still making you feel like things are relatively normal. Since they obviously can't do their brunch bar, they brought a sampling of what's usually on the bar to our table (several cold salads, pastries and deviled eggs). I still can't believe it was complimentary! Everything else was amazing and we had a few managers come over and ask if there was anything they could do do further improve their precautions. We really enjoyed ourselves for a lovely Saturday brunch on the patio - I'm so glad they decided to open! I came here with a few friends on a Saturday night for Restaurant Week. Thankfully, we made reservations because it gets super busy on the weekend! I can definitely see why - this place is so much more than just craft cocktails. Of course the Strawberry Moon Sangria and Elderflower Sour were both amazing!! I got the crab bisque for the first course. It was so creamy but not too rich and had great crab flavor. The hospitality was literally the best I've ever experienced. I've been to STIR multiple times throughout the years and loved it but this trip was subpar. My family was coming in to town so I made a reservation here. It was 86 degrees outside and burning up in the restaurant. I mean, it was so hot I contemplated leaving. I asked why it was so hot and they said they've never had good AC. I have a hard time believing that since I've been there multiple times before and never been that hot. It was miserable. Out waitress was rude. Every time we asked a question, half the time she wouldn't answer, and treated us like we were a nuisance. I was so excited for my shrimp and grits, which were still good but they had barely any sauce. My dad ordered the shrimp grits and he had a TON more sauce than me. My husbands scallops were only seared on one side. The other side of the scallops were white. The other dish ordered was the filet and the potatoes were hard. We then ordered the flourless cake. Our waitress brought us the check but we still didn't have the cake (even though it was on the receipt). We waited an extra 25 minutes after getting our receipt and paying before receiving our dessert. I have always loved STIR but this trip was such a disappointment. The food was inconsistent, the staff was subpar, and the restaurant was excruciatingly hot inside. This is such a cool place to park your ass and enjoy a nice open space that brings the outside in to enjoy a nice cross breeze on warmer days. There really isn't a bad seat in the house. You're with a lot of people but you still feel like you have the place to yourself. I would suggest reservations as we were able to Waltz in pass the line and get started on a wonderful evening. The hostess is extremely sweet and welcoming. She knows how to get things off to a good start and wished me a happy birthday. Our waitress was out promptly and took good care of us and was very accommodating and knowledgeable about the menu. We started with the 1842 margarita which unfortunately was not to my liking. Maybe the gran gala was the issue since it had a smoky flavor to it. It probably would have been better if I had the shaved iced since it was room temperature like a brandy which is what the gran gala is derived from. I had hoped the patron silver would balance it but I ended up switching with my husband who isn't as picky. The drinks were saved by Wild Moon Child which had strawberry purée, lime cordial and silver tequila. They used their artisanal ice which are there little frozen beads of ice that don't melt quickly so you get the same drink with which you started. Definitely recommend! To start with, I got the fried green tomatoes which is my go to anywhere I go and is my benchmark for good southern inspired cooking and this version was heads and tails above the rest. The dish had four generously sized slices with a nice breading that was crisp and not soggy. Cotija cheese with a green tomato relish finished it off. Delicious. My husband is all about oysters and got the oysters casino and although he liked it well enough, he'd definitely stick with the Rockefeller next time but not bad to branch out once in a while. My husband got the steak with the ravioli for his main. The reviews weren't kidding when they mention the small amount (three, to be precise) of ravioli you get, but he did enjoy them and was impressed with the steak and how it was cooked perfectly to his specification. My dish, on the other hand was mammoth. I had their farro and root vegetables with kale chips on top. It was a bit heavy duty for warm weather and very filling with roasted sweet potatoes, beets and carrots but it was okay. Not my favorite but at least I found a way to prepare beets that I like. The farro had been cooked in a nice broth and the kale chips were a nice topping. You could eat this for days if you wanted to, there's that much. I was bummed by the dessert selection. One had matcha green tea and the other one espresso. I'm just not into sweets with my breakfast drinks so another option would be appreciated. Maybe some pecan pie? I would definitely recommend and would go back especially if they had another vegetarian entree or just chow down on fried green tomatoes and a moon child or two. read more

They insisted it was there UNDER the tomato spread. Not worth $17. Bread was hard and potatoes were not fresh. They did however provide me a side of half an avocado. Service was decent. For starters they aren't doing happy hour at the moment and they didn't have any ciders on tap, such a disappointment. Hey beautiful people on Yelp! My roommates and I enjoyed a night out in North Hills last night to celebrate to first NFL game! Unfortunately Level 7 closed at 10 so we had to choose the next spot to continue our evening. Finally got a chance to check out STIR for Sunday brunch and it did not disappoint! We showed up at 12:45 and there was about a 20-30 minute wait so make sure to make reservations beforehand if you want to avoid that. The brunch menu definitely seems a little more limited than their regular menu but there are still quite a few options. Drink wise, they have $1 mimosas including a $10 bottle which we took advantage of for sure. We ordered the shrimp and grits and the biscuits & gravy breakfast. The shrimp & grits were delicious and the biscuits & gravy breakfast also came with eggs and potatoes as well so it was a lot of food! In addition to the entrees themselves, there is a brunch bar included with all you can eat appetizers/desserts like cinnamon rolls, cookies, deviled eggs, pasta salad, fruit salad so while the entrees seem a little pricey, there's a lot of food to go around! Definitely enough to put me into a food coma afterward. Pro trip but ask your waiter to see an Ice Show. My girlfriends and I decided to gave our annual Galentine's Day dinner here. Myself and another friend decided to try the dinner for 2 Valentine's Day special, which included an appetizer, 2 entrees and a dessert for $90. In my opinion, this ended up not being worth the money spent. We would have been better off just ordering an entree from the regular menu. The amount and quality of the food in this deal was just not worth $90. We ordered mini lobster rolls for the appetizer. While tasty enough, were presented with just 3 small rolls to shared between 2 people. I think 4 would have been a better option. For the entrees we both ordered the Petite Filet and Lobster Newberg with Charred Broccolini. I ordered my filet medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, everything was pretty flavorless, the broccolini charred almost to a crisp and the lobster was full of shells. The chocolate cream pie was obviously previously frozen and improperly thawed, which made it difficult to eat and to enjoy. I'm not writing this place off, because I've been here before and loved it. Stopped in for a quick Saturday brunch. My friend and I both ordered the Oak City omelette and mimosas. It was a good size but the best part was the breakfast potatoes. I could of easily eaten two orders of the potatoes. My friend informed me that they usually have a brunch at which is like a buffet area with pastries and sides like pasta salad and deviled eggs. Due to everything going on they instead bring the usually buffet items to your table. Instead of the traditional menus they had QR codes on the table for you to scan and it brings up the menu. Overall they have a great menu to choose from. The chicken and waffles seem to be a big hit so I'll be sure to order that next time. Mimosas were delicious and definitely had a good amount of champagne. They offer $1 mimosas or you can make it a double for $2. You can also get a pitcher for $10. What A Find!!! We were visiting friends and they brought us to North Hills to grab some lunch. We walked around a bit and saw that the patio was busy and thought that was a good sign so we would give it a try. So glad we did. The hostess was welcoming and said she had a great patio table for our party of four. Our waiter Chaz was fantastic. He made great recommendations and really took the time to make sure we enjoyed our dining experience. He was attentive but never made us feel rushed as we wanted to have a leisurely lunch and catch up with our friends. The fried green tomatoes were so good we almost ordered a second round. The Mediterranean hummus appetizer was delicious. The boys had the chicken sandwich and substituted parmigiana cheese for the cheddar. Said it was melt in your mouth good. The fresh cut fries were great. I had the chopped veggie salad. I liked that it was chopped, very fresh and the dressing was light and tasty but it was a bit spicy which I thought was unusual for a salad. I think next time I'd try the roasted vegetables with farro. The Sangria was strong and the flavor was fantastic. I live down the street from Stir and come here very often. I've yet to order something I don't like. My favorite drink is the ginger lemon drop. When I ordered it for the first time, the waiter said, "are you sure? its strong...". well, it is strong but SO GOOD. I've come for brunch, lunch, dinner, and happy hour. The lunch portion of the scallop and shrimp white cheddar mac & cheese is perfect. At brunch, I like the breakfast burger. The self-serve buffet is a nice addition and definitely makes Stir's brunch stand out from other restaurants.
