Only reason I came in was for Beef Larb. I clearly told the team member, I want Beef Larb. She should have told me they didn't have it and only had Thai Beef Salad. I found this place from Yelp and thought to give it a try. Disappointing!! All the food were SUPER SWEET and greasy. I ordered drunken noodles, spicy fried rice and green curry chicken. Drunken noodles 2 star - nice touch of crispiness which is unique but the noodles were soggy, too sweet and a lot of oil. Somehow they used this sweet chili sauce to stir fry everything! Spicy fried rice 1 star - proper fried rice supposed to be dry. This fried rice was soggy, again super sweet and lots of oil on the bottom. Green curry chicken 1 star - uhmmm since when green curry comes with peas and carrots?? Cooked with cheap ingredients. And they put dark chicken meat!! Cut corners cause they put white meat chicken in drunken noodles. Taste ok, a little bit sweet. Curry was thick which was good. The only thing that's valuable offered was choice of substituting to brown rice without extra charge like other restaurants. Friendly lady at the front taking orders. We decided to come here because we saw they have Laotian-Thai dishes on the menu. We tried the Boat Noodle, Hol Mok, Khao Poon, and Laotian sausage with sticky rice. We weren't disappointed. The flavors were authentic and the portions were good. We actually had to take a lot of the good to-go because the soup noodles were so filling. The Hol Mok (catch fish steamed in banana leaf with kaffir leaves, coconut red curry paste) was especially good. We first tried this dish at a Laotian-Cambodian restaurant in Orange County (Little Cambodia district), and we loved it, so we were excited to see that dish offered here at STIX. Wow!!! This Thai food is on point! I came here with my girlfriend tonight and fell in love with this restaurant. We had a very friendly server who made sure everything was cooked to perfection. She said they normally use chili powder to add spice but she had them cut up real chili to add an extra kick since we asked for spicy. We got the Tom Kha, Thai noodle salad with prawns, and Hawaiian curry with prawns. We also both had Thai iced tea. The tea was very sweet so if you aren't a sweet lover ask for them to tone it down a bit. The servings are very generous, we had tons of leftovers and we both stuffed our faces as much as possible. For only $50 for amazing quality food I will most definitely be coming back here again. I'm so glad we stumbled into this restaurant. I have been craving for some quality Thai food and during a recent grocery shopping trip I stopped in for a quick weekend lunch. I was impressed with the experience and will definitely be back! Upon entering I noticed the restaurant was very spacious and inviting. The decor was simple and nice (the color scheme reminded me a lot of the boba spot T4) with several large TVs on the walls. The seating is very casual with mostly bench seating. You can't go to a place called STIX and not order sticks so we tried the chicken skewers. This was probably my favorite item - the meat was packed full of flavor, super tender, and juicy. There was a good selection of items on sticks, most were 2-3 per order which is great for one person or order a few different ones to share! We also ordered a Duck Curry in a bread bowl (you also have the option of getting it with rice instead) since it sounded unique. I enjoyed it but would probably prefer to get it with rice next time. I will say the bread bowl leftovers reheated pretty well later in the oven (suggested by our server). We had a Pad Thai with Beef and it was pretty solid. I usually get Chicken with Pad Thai but since we had the skewers we opted to try something different. Portions were good for the price and we had leftovers. The menu is quick extensive and they even had a card at each table that listed additional drinks and desserts available. We both ordered a Thai Iced Coffee even though we could have split one. However, it was nice and strong so we don't regret our decision at all. Quick note: I thought the women's restroom was really clean but heard from my dining companion that the men's was extremely not up to par. Hopefully this was a one off situation as this is sometimes the last impression of a restaurant before you leave. Hence I will give this spot a 3.5 stars for now - may update upon return visit. I have seen this place on Yelp and have been meaning to stop by for a while and I'm SO glad I finally did! Fantastic food and service! I highly recommend ordering the Lao sausage which has a strong lemongrass flavor that is delicious. Kapraw pork belly and the chicken panang curry were also very delicious. The pork belly was perfectly crispy even after being sautéed with vegetables in a tasty sauce. We got this as a DoorDash order so I can't comment on what it is like to dine in the restaurant. We got the fried rice with prawns, the egg rolls, and the yellow curry. The food was still really hot when it arrived! It was absolutely delicious and very flavorful. The portions were large so I ended up having it for two meals. The egg rolls are absolutely amazing! The DoorDash driver was new and forgot the rice that went with the yellow curry. We called and they had someone drive out and deliver rice to us. Disappointed in my experience here. Thai noodle salad is known as yum won sen. When we referenced this dish as such, the look from the waiter was that he had no idea what we were talking about. When we asked about some of the specifics of the panang curry, it was referenced as yellow. Apparently yellow is a flavor not a color. The special khao dish with crab, sounded like khao soi. When asking questions the referenced khao soi and how the special compares and contrasts? It was met responses that indicated he knew nothing of the khao soi curry noodle dish. The cost of the entrees are about $12 or $13/ea an average cost. I didn't like that all of the dishes, both serving and eating from, were plastics. Not cheap plastic, but it was still plastic. The tables were already set, leaving the question as to what happened Tommy plate prior to me sitting down. With children running around or ill people, if freaked me out a bit. Their curry bread bowl was phenomenal. Bread bowl did get extremely soggy by the end of the bowl but we got the bread bowl for the picture :). Curry was rich anf flavorful. OK, let's cut to the chase. The Pad Thai, and the Thai iced tea were some of the best I've ever had anywhere. After reading some of the other reviews, people failed to mention the fact that the people that work here are extremely nice, family, or family adjacent and just want to deliver a good meal at a reasonable price. The problem with that is that people that shop in this area are surrounded by many other restaurants that are less expensive and therefore STIX EATERY...finds itself, "at the short end of the stick!" Lao, Thai, Southeast Asian cooking has never been better, but other than Out-Of-Towners or have silly money, nobody's going to line up to pay $30 for Pad Thai and a couple of iced teas, unless that includes...a happy ending... Nevertheless, the place is small, but very clean, and it's certainly quiet enough to get away from "The Concrete Jungle," and clear your head. If you happen to be in the area and getting your car serviced or something, a pretty tasty, hot meal can be served in under 10 minutes... (Finally, this was the same restaurant that used to emanate in the Park 'n Shop shopping center, but since China Wall Buffet and some of the other Asian restaurants suck all of the oxygen out of that shopping strip, STIX EATERY, obviously could not compete. Wanting to try somewhere new for lunch over the weekend, the boyfriend and I stopped in the Park n Shop plaza near home and noticed the picture on the outside wall of Stix: curry in a bread bowl. It was a drizzly day and we were both getting over colds, so a hot bread bowl meal wasn't a hard decision to make - comfort food! We told our server that it was our first time there and Ko T filled us in on the mostly family-style eating and large dish portions. Even with this information, we totally over-ordered! A complimentary bowl of soup started us off and it was delicious! Chicken satay ($10) was our favorite dish. Really nicely season chicken on skewers and a subtle peanut sauce that didn't over-power any of the other flavors. Shrimp balls ($6) was our least favorite. Kind of chewy, rubbery balls of fish? We washed these down with a couple of Thai iced teas ($4 each in a large mason glass) then sampled the chicken wings ($6), which were good, but not quite as good as the boneless skewers. A large portion of fried calamari ($10) was a hit, though it seems slightly overbreaded. The meat was still tender though - fried to perfection! Finally, the yellow curry chicken bread bowl ($10) which we barely broke into with all the other plates. It was delicious though and the bread was fresh and complimented the sweet flavors of the curry. Service was great and the food was good with large portions. We were passing by Concord from the South Bay last weekend and chosed STIX for food. We did pickup and ate in our car in the lot because of Covid. Normally I don't enjoy to-go food since you don't get that freshness of being served then and there. We ordered yum woon sen, beef jerky with sticky rice and some spring rolls. My favorite at Thai restaurants usually is yum woon sen but most restaurants don't do it right. The taste is always off. STIX's version is SO good and I'm so tempted to drive an hour to get some. STIX is a good addition to Park n Shop in Concord. Great upgrade from the McDonald's which was previously in this spot. Not sure why it took DH and me so long to try STIX. We kept our order fairly simple. Hawaiian Curry with Chicken and jasmine rice for DH, while I had the Green Curry with Shrimp and sticky rice. We both had our usual Singha beers. Degree of "heat" was just right for DH; next time I may ask for my curry to be more on the mild side. We both enjoyed our complimentary cups of vegetable soup with rice noodles. I liked the casual vibe. Industrial style chairs and wooden tables. Some wonderful art work added to the atmosphere. Good service. We have been coming here since this gem opened, so this review is long overdue. The food here is fantastic! It's fresh, consistent, and and full of flavor. The Laotian/ Thai fusion gives their dishes an edge that other Thai places can't compete with. Our staples are the pad se ew, crispy calamari, crispy rice salad, bbq chicken entree, and any of the curries with sticky rice. We also get the iced lychee jasmine drink and Thai tea- SOOOO GOOD! Also, the staff here are always incredibly friendly, and have gladly accommodated any modifications/ substitutions for the dishes, which is quite rare compared to other Thai places I've been to. It still said something crawfish on the over-hang. Anywho, it's very spacious and clean inside. Our fam were the first to arrive. We made Father's Day ressies, but it wasn't necessary since they had so much space. Staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. I brought a dessert, and they offered to refrigerate it before I even asked. Food highlights for me were the papaya salad (super light and refreshing, but could've used a BIT more kick), Tom yum soup with shrimp (perfect amt of sourness), tofu eggplant medley, and seafood mix. The one thing I wanted to try and was my personal order was the salmon green curry, which I wasn't a fan of. For that price, I expected better veggies than some potentially frozen peas, carrots, corn medley mix.
