We are back!!!! Let's start out with having dinner reservations for 8:30pm and having to wait almost an hour to be seated. It was a Saturday night and it was super packed. We finally got seated and ordered our drinks and they brought out some pull apart bread. I ordered the Unchained Passion. That drink packed a lot of power and was delicious. I ordered the crab cake and the Maine lobster Mac & Cheese. It took some time again for our food to be served but complimentary shots were given as everyone waited. When the food did come I had no complaints because everything was delicious. For our troubles we did get a complimentary bag of donuts which hit the spot. Of things to note if it's a party of over five only one check is made for the table. Amazing food and great cocktail. Service was apathetic and ridiculously slow. We went for brunch Valentine's Weekend and we were 1 of 2 couples in the whole place. They didn't have the brunch menus printed and it took 20 mins to bring.us water. The other couple there lost their patience and left. We waited at least 40 mins after placing our order to get our food and we were literally the only people in the entire restaurant. I was about to walk out as well but our food finally arrived. Thank goodness the food we ordered was great. My husband got the Wagyu Fried Rice and I got the Pot Belly Benedict. We shared Truffle Fries that were also delicious. We came to STK Dallas for their advertised Veterans Day offer -- which didn't actually exist. The bartender rolled her eyes when we asked for two glasses of wine, and the hostess told us they were "running behind." We arrived 15 minutes early, and 45 minutes past our reservation time we were still waiting. If we'd been 15 minutes late, they would've given our table away. Valet added another 20-minute delay. We decided to leave rather than keep my veteran guest waiting hungry on Veterans Day. While waiting, we met another veteran couple who had been there since 6:30 PM and still weren't seated because they had a service dog. The staff told them they could only sit outside -- which is not legal under the ADA. Service animals are allowed anywhere the public is allowed, including indoors. Between the fake promo, the poor service, and the blatant disregard for accessibility and respect, STK Dallas completely missed the mark. Do better. read more

I've given this location two chances off the strength that I love the STK in Vegas and Denver. Unfortunately this location is not of the same caliber. My first visit, I ordered the crab and mac and cheese and they were both pretty flavorless and the mac and cheese was dry. The second visit, the service was extremely slow and unorganized. I had about 7 different people, a combination of hosts and servers, coming to my table to serve me. They kept asking the same questions so it felt like we were starting from scratch every time someone new came to the table. This continued on so long that we pretty much missed happy hour, which is what we came for. The manager explained that the slow service was because they were busy but the restaurant was nearly empty.. but he did rectify the situation for us by extending happy hour for a few minutes for us and bringing over some free drinks, which I appreciated. On a positive note, I loved the steak frites, the truffle fries are amazing and the sauce on the steak is super flavorful and unique. I think about it often. The calamari is good too, didn't seem super fresh, or perhaps they fry theirs a little more tough than I'm used to but they're not bad. Pricing was a bit high, especially for portions that were a little lacking as far as I'm concerned. I got the surf and turf with 6oz fillet and 3 "prawn" that were more like standard shrimp. The fillet was very tender and tasty. The sides we got were also delicious, but again, small for "family style" in my opinion. The staff was friendly, but seemed to be lacking on info about the menu. A team of servers take care of a section of tables so your drink is never empty, plates never sit on your table, your food arrives piping hot, your every need is catered to. I really wanted to like this place, but it mostly fell short for me. First, they do not validate for parking even though there is a parking garage in the same building (one of my pet peeves). All the nearby garages charge at least $15 and some charge by the hour, so it's still cheapest to do valet, which is $5. We came for a work dinner and were seated in one of their private rooms. For some reason, they don't use any HDMI cords to connect computers for presentations and only use a streaming app. Our poor rep couldn't get the streaming to work and the management also was not able to figure it out, so she ended up having to use her own small personal screen to display her powerpoint presentation. We all got the caesar salad, and I ordered the steak frites, which I believe was an 8oz ribeye steak. The salad was fine, but my steak was way overcooked. It came out as a medium well rather than medium rare. The fries were also kind of soggy and bland. The best item of the night was their mashed potatoes. Didn't care for the olive oil dip it comes with, but the garlic bread was so good. My husband ordered the Ribeye Spinalis with truffle butter, shrimp topping, and Au Poivre sauce. I went to STK to celebrate my birthday, and unfortunately it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. After being seated, I sat at my table for 20 minutes with no server. I finally had to get up and go back to the host stand just to ask where my server was. When he finally showed up, he took my order and brought my drinks--but that was basically the last time he checked on me. Someone else brought out my food, and no one ever came to ask how everything was. I had to ask the runner who dropped off my plate for a steak knife, and even then, no one brought it. I ended up asking another person and still waited forever. By the time I finally got what I needed, the moment was already ruined. This was supposed to be my birthday dinner, something I was really looking forward to, and instead it was just a sad and frustrating experience. It's a high end steakhouse so the prices outside of happy hour and restaurant week are pretty high (even for a steakhouse). For example, the cheapest thing on the regular menu under entrees is $52 and it's Salmon. That's a sea bass price if you ask me. The good news is that they have happy hour and reverse happy where you can sample smaller portions for some pretty cheap prices. The drinks are all $21, but at least they were delicious and strong. For a place called STK, they cannot cook steak. You can order a medium rare steak and get an extremely well done steak. Then they send a replacement almost 25-30 minutes after already waiting one hour for the first plate and they cut it! All cut up because : 1. They didn't know if it was the right temperature (because the first steak wasn't cut), so they checked at your expense. 2. Because they don't care about quality. Letting the juices, moisture, and flavor escape the whole point of the meal. Service is nice, but what does that have to do with anything when everything is extremely overpriced? It is such a horrible trap in this economy. I can't imagine someone saving up for a month to take their loved one someplace nice, rolling up into an Instagram hotspot, and eating food you can make better at home. Id rather go to Kroger, buy a ribeye, ask an amateur to cook it, plate it, and it would still be better than whatever gets served here. Do. Not. Come. Here. The ambiance is NOT worth it. Please.
