It was our first time visiting St. Louis and one of the things we were looking forward to was trying the local fare. This included some toasted raviolis (aka t-ravs). We came across STL Toasted while visiting the City Foundry and ceased the opportunity to give their t-ravs a try. They did not disappoint and left us wanting to try the rest off of their menu. As mentioned above, STL Toasted has a stall located in the City Foundry. We came on a Friday night and the City Foundry overall was busy. At the time of stopping by, there was only one guy running the STL Toasted stall. He was friendly, patient with our questions, and turned over quality orders quickly despite being busy. We ordered ten of the savory t-ravs and one dessert t-rav. This order specifically consisted of - Original Beef - 3 Cheese - Oreo Cheesecake Truffle All three were delicious and perfectly 'toasted.' The Original Beef was my favorite out of the two savory selections. Packed with flavor and the perfect amount of stuffing, we couldn't help but let out a sigh of happiness after each bite. The Oreo Cheesecake Truffle was also memorable. It was rich, but sharable between two people. Definitely the perfect way to round out our experience at STL Toasted. We had a great time trying our first t-ravs in St. Louis and are thrilled it was from STL Toasted. We would definitely return in the future whenever we find our way back to town! read more

STL Toasted is inside City Foundry Food Hall. Looking for what to eat and try, I decided to try STL Toasted since toasted ravioli is such a culinary icon in this city. Toasted ravioli are breaded breaded and fried that may bey filled with ground beef, topped with parmesan cheese, and served with marinara for dipping. When I approached the counter, the employee was very friendly in telling me a bit about the toasted ravioli that they offer and he told me that this is much different from the ravioli I have ever had, since I told him I was not from here. I ended up purchasing: Jalapeno Popper Toasted Ravioli and Original Beef Toasted Ravioli, $18 prior to tax- Each flavor came with 4 ravioli each and came with a dipping sauce. The jalapeno poppers were delicious with cheese inside and wasn't too spicy (I'm not much of a spicy eater). The original beef was good and perfectly flavorful. Both of these 2 raviolis were nice and toasted, crispy and hot. Gooey Buttercake Dessert Toasted Ravioli, $3.50 prior to tax- I thought this would be nice to try, especially since this is a sweet toasted ravioli. This was only one order of ravioli, bit it was a little bigger than the meat filled ones we got. Inside was pretty sweet but was a nice size for a small sweet something at the end of our small meal. ------------------------------ (Total= $24.34 after tax) When looking on Yelp for places for toasted ravioli, STL Toasted was one of the top places that came up. I was so happy to try the 3-cheese toasted ravioli the other day! Ordering was simple and the people behind the counter were all super helpful and friendly. I came across City Foundry food hall when searching up another restaurant that is a vendor there, + I'm so glad I did because when I saw this restaurant, my eyes lit up!! I just knew it was going to be delicious from the pictures + flavors I saw on the menu online. The first night I came to City Foundry I didn't make it in time to try :( but I had to come back before I left town. I'm so glad I didn't just say "oh, I'll get it next time". My mom + I decided to split an order of 8 ($18, so not the cheapest for what could be considered an appetizer, but so delicious) + we ordered half Italian Beef, half Buffalo Chicken. The Italian Beef with the marinara sauce was good, but that Buffalo Chicken with ranch really stole the show! I could not believe how good it was!! I honestly was upset that I had to share them LOL Breaded + toasted to perfection while fully stuffed with the meaty/cheesy mixture + topped with what I'm guessing was parmesan cheese... OMG! I want these right now!! I'm going to think about these often + can't wait to go back + try some of the other flavors. I brought an out-of-town relative to experience the City Foundry, and we both enjoyed the fabulous food and service of STL Toasted and the great environment of the City Foundry. The limited menu ensures customers get only the most perfect ravioli, including a beef, chicken, potato chive, and three cheese ravioli. (This meant that vegetarians can eat half the menu.) They were the most plumply stuffed and most perfectly deep-fried toasted ravioli I've ever had, which explains the higher-than-is-typical prices for toasted ravioli. They also had two dessert ravioli, including a maple pecan gooey butter and an apple cobbler (or something close to that). Those were excellent, as well. I also got their iced tea, which was tasty. Finally, our dream food hall spot exists, people! Toasted has multiple t rav options. In fact, there were 2 vegetarian options plus dessert options! I was happy. These are bigger than regular t ravs. 1.5-2x puffier than regular flat r ravs, these are. 4 were filling as a meal for me. Worth the price. I like the different sauce options... Absolutely loved this place, the Ravioli is crispy, fresh and made from scratch. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken one, I loved the filling( minus sum of the green onions,lol) it tasted like a classic dip! The beef one was okay, I think it needed it more cheese, it was jus mostly beef, and kinda loose in there, I think cheese would've really helped but the flavor was on point, and the marinara sauce really complemented the rav! Wow, I thought these t-ravs were great - both the savory and the sweet. We tried four different kinds in our orders (you can get up to two types per order), and all were filled with delicious, well-flavored meats. Original beef has a textury mix of meat and spices for a better flavor than often served elsewhere. Buffalo chicken included a mix of the buffalo chicken, cheese, and green onion so that you weren't overwhelmed by just hot sauce ad chicken. Smoked pulled pork similarly was a great mix of meat and other ingredients. Finally, the loaded potato had a thick creaminess of potato, cheddar, green onion, and sour cream. Splurge $1 to add candied bacon to the loaded potato - it is well worth it. Each flavor also comes with a fairly large dipping sauce married to the flavor profile. The lemon blackberry gooey buttercake ravoli was as rich and decadent as it sounds, especially since it was topped with lemon mascarpone & blackberry coulis. And the Oreo cheesecake truffle - served with a huge side of espresso whipped cream - is like a thick dunked and melted oreo cookie, but better. Other reviewers have mentioned the price point, but these are generous t-ravs. The savory aren't necessarily larger in area, but the filling bubble is about ping pong ball size. I've had toasted raviolis before, here in STL, and various places that don't give the proper homage to the origination. This was where STL Toasted took us to a new level. The spinach artichoke version was all kinds of great flavor, and we really wanted more. It's undoubtably good because they make it right there on the spot, behind the counter, live, not frozen. My biggest conundrum in choosing a rating is this; Do I think $2.50 apiece is worth the price of admission? This is where I struggle, where I rebel, and I say that it's too much. Most places put you back about $1 to $1.50 apiece, even the ones that claim to be the originators. Pricing is the only reason to knock this down. If you have the cash, it's worth it. If you want an experience, it's worth it. If you're thinking of this, as a meal, you'll be sorely disappointed. read more

There was a sign posted "be back in 15 minutes" when we arrived around 4:30. I'd heard so many good things about Toasted, that we waited for return. It was definitely worth the wait. Sampled the loaded potato & traditional beef. Both delicious. The potato ravioli were garnished with sour cream & chives, and the marinara sauce for the beef was the best I've ever tasted. And, I really liked that the beef was ground, but not mushy. Naturally had to try some dessert. Chocolate truffle was yummy, the lemon blackberry gooey butter was good, but a little disappointed couldn't taste any lemon or blackberry. The employees were nice and efficient. When in St. Louis, one must get some toasted ravioli. Everyone was telling me to go to The Hill. The Hill was a little too far away for me. One of the front desk personnel at my hotel suggested City Foundry. It turns out that there is a place that just does toasted ravioli. And STL did not disappoint. Now, I am not sure if one spells out S-T-L, or if it is St. Louis Toasted. Anyway, I was not disappointed. I went with 4 of the beef and 4 of the cheese. These were so good, that after consuming these, I wanted to go back and try the other ones. They were hot, perfectly toasted, and really hit the spot. I was exited to finally try STL Toasted Ive heard good things. The price point is pretty high ($10 for 4 raviolis) but it's nice you can pick more than one flavor. I chose the Buffalo chicken and the pizza flavor with pepperoni and sausage. They come with a large portion of sauce which is actually too much for only a couple of each flavor. I enjoyed the pizza ones with the marinara sauce but found some small bones in my chicken one so I didn't eat the second one. I did like the flavor and the sauce though.
