We were passing thru recently and ate at this restaurant. The food was pretty good, home cooked. The waitress we had was so awesome. She was very attentive and hospitable, a slight gal , probably 30ish, didn't catch her name but such a great asset to this restaurant. The only recommendation I would make is to have more vegan choices on the menu. Otherwise, the food was good and the wait staff superb, as mentioned. read more

We've eaten here several times since it changed to Stocktons. Very clean now and was pleased to see a slight menu change. Some recommendations: would love to see a grilled chicken dish, more salads, and smaller portion sizes for seniors. A side note about salads: love the spring mix but add romaine hearts and iceberg to it to give it the crunch factor. Some purple cabbage too. read more

Been a regular, and going there for many many years back when it was Gloria's, and then when Stocktons took over, and generously tipping the staff, but the service has gone down hill so bad lately, that I flat-out quit going to the place, - not worth it. Life is too short to put up with a bunch of of high-school waitresses with 5-second attention spans who have no clue how to tend to customers. Yeah, sure, there are a couple waitresses that are good, but they are just too few and far between, and it's a total crap shoot from one night to next what you're gonna get service wise, especially if you sit at the counter. There is only one waitress in the entire joint who actually knows how to service customers (and runs her ass off doing it), and that is Lori, the red-head bartender. But she's not there every day, and she only works in the bar and not in the restaurant. You can't run a business with just "one" Lori, - you need a TEAM of Lori's (in the restaurant). At Stocktons, there's just no escaping bad service if you are a regular customer, whether it's in the bar, or in the restaurant. Sad satire. read more

Waitress is nice, never remembers us but it is what it is. She's friendly and attentive! Breakfast is breakfast, nothing bad but nothing extraordinary. They put gravy on their hash browns and I don't believe that's stated on the menu. Mashed potatoes come with brown gravy, ribs weren't what we expected. I was leery to order tortellini so I politely asked if they were the little frozen ones. She said no! They were really, really good. It's a smaller portion of pasta which is upsetting at first but it's very filling! read more

Came in to give the place a try. Arrived at 8pm and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Hostess/waitress was friendly, but not very food savvy. Menu has all the comfort foods represented. I had the teriyaki steak- ranks average. Reuben sandwich was really good, as well as the prawns according to my family. I will come back again, but the place could use a professional intervention on presentation, service, and how to spell "dessert" correctly on the specials board. This is my very first review I've ever done on a business. I was very less than amused and not satisfied at all. My fiancé and I are locals and frequented this place when it was previously Gloria's. Now, new owner, new menu, same ambiance and horrible food. The waitress we had was friendly but a bit flaky. It took an unusual amount of time before our coffee was served to us, and she just didn't seem to be aware of her surroundings. I ordered your basic eggs, hash browns, sausage with sour dough bread. The hash browns were chewy and flavorless, sourdough bread tasted like white bread left out from yesterday, and the best thing about my meal was the strawberry smuckers jelly I had I but on my toast. My fiancé got chicken fried steak which tasted like fried chicken covered in over floured plane gravy. Needless to say, we will not be returning. The manager was very apologetic (he was at the hostess stand and doubling as cashier) and comped our meal. We don't normally complain about our meal - we generally grin and bare it usually assuming they're having an "off day". But we were disappointed in our experience today and will find somewhere else to dine for breakfast. read more

After the restaurant was pillaged by the former owners I was hopeful. The menus had been in need of refreshing yet keeping all of Gloria s down home meals. I have been to this restaurant on more then a couple occasions and have always been met with a welcoming smile. I do feel that they should do some remodeling as the seating is breaking down. Yep. It's gonna be a 5. Every single time I come in here I get delicious Chicken Alfredo Pasta, big order, great garlic toast, and a Caesar. And every time, the gals here have been more than sweet, professional and accommodating. My daughter likes it here too. The chefs in the back always smile towards us. I have supported the music scene from day one here,when there was no one there.Now it is popular,I feel like a stranger here.I went in;to watch NBA playoff game.Next thing,the 6th round of nfl draft was on.I complained,and it came on again.Next thing,it was off,and I had to go home to watch the game.The decent thing to do,was say;we have people who want to watch something else.Can I put it on another tv?None of that happened;treat a regular like this?Not ripping the owners here,they are great;and the soup is the best anywhere.I tip well,and will not return when certain worker is there.The pecking order for sports,are;local team first.Then playoffs,and major events,like monday night football;then anything else.Show up, and support the music scene here.Owners have worked hard to bring this to us.Also a very safe venue. read more

My wife ordered the triple decker club and I ordered the sliced beef and mashed potatoes, both covered in gravy. My wife really liked the club and sweet potato fries. My beef was lean and moist and the mashed potatoes were perfect. The flavor of mine lacked seasoning but at least it wasn't salty. The service was a problem. We ordered iced tea and our food was delivered before the tea and we had to ask again for our tea. Our waitress walked by our table many times while an empty tea or water glass was near the edge and again we had to ask for service. Part of the service problem was our waitress spent too much time talking to frequent customers. We will not be falling into that group. read more

Their Hot Turkey sandwich came with mashed potatoes and gravy and the menu indicated that ALL sandwiches are served with French fries, soup, salad, potato salad or coleslaw. I said I wanted the salad and the waitress says "instead of the mashed potatoes?" and I'm confused so I read her the menu where mashed potatoes are NOT on the selection for sandwiches but apparently you don't get the "ALL sandwiches....selections" when ordering a sandwich that comes with mashed potatoes....doesn't make sense cuz the husband orderd a Ruben and it came with sauerkraut but he got the sandwich selection. This place is good if you like HAIR in your sandwiches and if you like there being other condiments in your meal that aren't stated on the online menu. Called and let them know about the hair and cranberry sauce, lady kind of argued saying it does say it has cranberry sauce but it doesn't and the lady took my name and phone number and said manager would call me. He never did so I call a few days later and the girl that answers said he's in the kitchen and went to tell him I was calling again and I could hear him say my name and said he would call back and said well have her call back in case I forget. We decided to try this new place in Maple valley and was pleasantly surprised. I had the Chicken Dijon with a dinner salad and a glass of Pinot Gris. The salad was fresh and good quality. The chicken Dijon was delicious - the sauce was balanced and creamy with mushrooms and capers. My companions burger was generous and tasty. We will eat here again. read more

Been going here for a number of years used to get the breakfast buffet. Wasn't that great food wise but kids liked the all you can eat part. Fast forward to recently I've been getting breakfast off the menu. Hands down best breakfast in M.V. Absolutely fantastic quality and quantity ! My husband's credit card number was stolen when he used it to pay his bill at Stocktons. It was immediately used for online shopping at wallmart. Fortunately, BECU rocks and caught the fraud before allowing the charges. Unfortunately, no manager on site, owner hung up on him when he called to report fraud, and waitress was conveniently no longer at work (less then 20 minutes after card was stolen). If you take the gastronomic risk then be sure you pay in cash. read more

In recent weeks I have been to Stockton's twice. Once was for breakfast and another for late lunch. The meals we ordered were high quality. I was rather surprised since I had seen some rather negative reviews. The Reuben sandwich and fries was a very pleasant surprise. The fries were probably the best I have ever had in a restaurant. The Reuben sandwich was rather unique and the only thing I would have done differently is to order extra Thousand Island dressing on the side. For breakfast I ordered the eggs benedict and it was perfect. I couldn't have asked for anything better. Also, the hash browns too were tasty and well browned. I would order either of these meals again and no doubt will! The wait person was personable and attentive. We have not been into the bar or lounge but will try that soon. read more

Used to frequent a lot when we first moved to the area in 1995 because there wasn't anything else. Gloria's wasn't great, but consistent. Decided to try it under new ownership and were underwhelmed. No real change. Bathrooms still incredibly gross. Once went to the bar - the bartender didn't know how to open a bottle of wine! Luckily wider range of restaurants available now. read more

We used to come in all the time, but one time your 'computers were down' and the waitress was frazzled; and apparently the only one there that morning. Consequently, the service was very poor (no coffee refills, took forever to get my bill, and she was preoccupied and rude). I don't have to spend my money at Stocktons and put up with that when Testy Chef, Original Pancake House, IHOP, and Sharis are just as convenient. We ordered dinner for take out from the "new" Gloria's (Stockton's) and were very disappointed. It was basically old Gloria's with higher prices! Gloria's always had good not great breakfast though, so I would recommend trying it out but I will not be back for dinner. read more

Stopped by the bar to have a beer and to see what they have done to the place since they bought it from Gloria's. The bartender was rude, and just a straight up beautch!! We dined here last night and the service was less than poor. There were only 2 other tables occupied but I wrongly assumed that it was because of the later hour of 7pm, 1st mistake. When I asked what beer was on tap, you'd think I was giving an oral exam for SATs. The waitress said she would check and be right back. That never happened. We ordered steak and chicken with sides of soup and salad, which were included in the meal. 40 minutes later we had our entrees with no soup or salad. I tried to get the waitresses attention but she was busy talking to another table that she knew personally and then when she saw me said she'd be right there. Same promise as she had with my non existant beer. When she did come to the table she acknowleded that she had forgotten the soup and salad and she would take it off the bill. When we received the bill it said void soup and salad. The meals were the same price. When asked weren't those included in the bill, she lied and said they would have been extra. I made sure I paid cash and it is the first time I have had change in my pocket in a long time. Mashed potatoes were lumpy with gravy that had film on it. The steak was ok. Do yourself a favor and rather than going there stop by Safeway and get a box of cereal and gallon of milk. You will thank me later. read more

Figured we would try this out with the new owner. First issue was with the VERY slow service. We were seated fairly quickly then have to wait, first for the drink order (we had enough time to figure out what we wanted to eat so ordered at the same time) then had a 45 minutie wait for the food to be ready. My wife ordered the nacho appetizer which came wayyyyy overcooked, the cheese was crispy and there were no jalapeno's. When she politley mentioned this to the owner, he was very condesending and short with her., Then when he came back with the jalapenos, he practically threw them on the table. My daughter's burger was overcooked and the bun was soggy. There was no apoology for the long wait or for the overcooked food, and the apology for the lack of jalapenos was half-hearted at best. We had been eating here when it was Gloria's for over 20 years, and where they may have periodically had some issues, we were always treated with respect and made to feel at home. We didn't get that now, and will not be returning. read more
