The staff is friendly and efficient and the services always good. their shrimp salad is one of the best I've ever had and there is so much to it that I had to bring half of it home. Hubby and I stopped in for nachos on our anniversary (pretty exciting couple huh?). Food is very good since changing owners. Prices are fair and food is hot which is crazy unbelievable since there is ONE (smiling/energetic/friendly) woman currently serving four tables and ten smiling patrons at the bar. She even joked with hubby for a minute when he commented that she could used some help (mental? She asked and chuckled). It is Monday night but I'm sure that starts at the exit because inside (the bar) live music plays compliments of Max and happy locals spin around the dance floor that moments ago had been populated with tables and chairs. We recently held a going away party for about 35 people. We decided to cater the event and wanted to support a local business. Based on a "mystery-shop" (we ate there to check the food out) we agreed to have Stockton's cater the event. We could not have been happier with our choice. The owner himself is very easy to deal with, he accommodated all our requests. The delivery and set up was perfectly timed and very professionally done. The food - main dishes of ribs and pulled pork, plus several salads - were exceptional and no one went away hungry!! Highly recommend for your event. I had breakfast here a couple weeks ago and had the biscuits and gravy and it was great. However tonight I ordered the fish and chips and am sadly unimpressed. Currently 50/50 on this restaurant as far as the food. Now the customer service is very good. Always courteous and prompt. Restaurant and kitchen look clean and bathrooms are clean. Next time I'll visit the lounge and see how that goes. Just want to say I will definitely be back. I will also give the fish and chips a second go. I am looking forward to trying your country fried steak as well. I say it when I came in for Sunday breakfast a couple weeks ago. It looked amazing. It was my second time to Stocktons, service is good, food are delicious, we had seafood fettuccine, meatloaf, bacon Mac n cheese..Etc, all very tasty. Drink are pricy tho. Ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs for breakfast. Mind you it was 16 dollars. They bring out this tiny piece of meat, hard scrambled eggs and dry biscuit. The coffee had stuff floating in it. Keep Your Receipts! I'm giving a one star only because I can't choose NO stars. Watch out because there is a young lady bartender that if you piss her off she will add a zero to your tip! We had a $100 tab and left a $20 tip. Most respectable bartenders would enjoy a 20% tip. This one wasn't happy with her patron and decide it was ok to squeeze in an extra zero, therefore making the tip $200 on a $100 tab. The manager of this bar already had to pay this chick out on that tip day of, so of course he decide to fight the fact that this was argued with the bank. This a small town, so the young lady thief bartender has even had enough nerve to hang out at other bars laughing about the fact that she over charged a patron on their tip merely because she didn't like them. Bravo! If you go to this place, make sure you don't piss off the bartender, and if you do, keep all of your signed receipts! read more

First off the staff here are great and caring , but the food is just okay. I ordered the country fried steak and it was way too soggy and it was way too much salt. Now grant it I did take it to go as capacity at that time was 25% which was around October of 2020. My younger brother ordered the steak which was good and my parents had this bowl which I forgot the name of, but that was good too. I will always support small businesses and restaurants during these times and always will. I just hope I have a better dinner experience next time. Having been to Gloria's 100's of times, I thought I'd take my girlfriend there to give the new place a shot. With Gloria's, I knew I wasn't going to get the most extravagant food, but I knew it would have some flavor. My girlfriend and I told our waitress that we were excited to give this place a try and she did the "great food" and head roll line I've seen at every restaurant ever. We both ordered the Friday night prime rib and a trip through the salad bar. I didn't know that a salad could be so bland. The onions were all water. The cheese had no flavor. Even the croutons weren't very seasoned. They didn't have hot dishes on the salad bar anymore. And the clam chowder had almost a mayonnaise undertone of flavor. Having managed a steakhouse, I know prime rib has fat in it. But not this much. I practically cut half of the prime rib away. And, it was also pretty bland. The redeeming factor was the mashed potatoes and gravy. It was mostly warm, but had some flavor. I'm sure I'll be back. Mostly because I've lived in MV off and on since 1990. And that's what we do. I just know that I'll be getting mediocre food and mediocre service. read more

5/23/15 8:30 PM: So far, the bar portion of this restaurant is only getting a 2 star review from me. I came here to watch the band, Boneyard Boogie. I sat down and it took about 10 minutes before the female bartender came over and took my drink order. She did NOT have a very pleasant attitude whatsoever. My husband ordered coffee and he had to ask for a spoon to stir his coffee with. DUH!! Guess he was supposed to use his finger. It's still early in the evening so I'll update this review as the evening progresses. 10:25 PM: The service is still very crappy. My husband had to go to the bar to get me another drink and some water. All the female bartender does is stand behind the bar and eat and joke around with people she knows. 11:12 PM: The female bartender has left and the male bartender is 100% better!! I think these guys are far too confident in their fare, or just greedy, either way, we won't be returning. About a year ago we stopped in for the weekend, breakfast buffet. For $10 you got scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, potatos, French toast, biscuits, gravy, cold cereal, and fruit. This should sound like a steal, but the food wasn't all that great. The gravy was weak, French toast, tough and fruit looked like it was day old. For $10, you couldn't really complain, and for potatoes, bacon and eggs, it was fair. We returned months later and the price had risen to $12. Not really happy about the price increase, but understood that at $10, it's possible they weren't making money. This past weekend, we returned and it had inflated to $16. Not only that, the fruit was gone and replaced with salad bar. Um, how many people are looking for an ice cold salad at 9 AM? The gravy is still weak, potatoes not crisp and despite 60% price increase in the last year, no beverage is included. 13 Coins serves a much heartier breakfast for $16 and other buffets include a made to order omelet bar. For the price service and location, the $16 ticket is far too ambitious and I would suggest you just keep on driving for a better breakfast for a better price. By far, Stocktons has the best bartenders in town. Tara, Lori, and Jamie are friendly, fast, and funny. The food is awesome and you can get food on the bar or family side. One of the big pulls for us is the salad bar. The plates are kept in a cool fridge and there are lots of toppings. The owner's wife makes the best desserts too. read more

Ordered the waffle with whipped cream, blue berry toppings and side of hash browns came to $14 which I would expect more for the price. The waffle was good and well cooked the blue berrys had to much sweet syrup and probably came from a can. They need to have a better waffle combo or at least fresh fruit toppings for the price. Horrible service and the food was horrible! We order our food and waited a while for it to come out. We waited for our food just for it to come out cold. The only reason why I ate it is because I was hungry. I order the special (corn beef and cabbage with mashed potatoes ) the waitress came and asked how the food was I replied saying it wasn't the best. She responds with a sorry and asked if there was anything she could do i reply with a no. She comes back asking if we wanted deserts. Met a friend for a weekday lunch around the holidays. My friend eats there regularly, so it was nice to see the waitress excited to see her and knowing her usual drink. I ordered a club sandwhich sans vegetables and a cup of broccoli cheddar soup. Both came and we're extremely tasty. I was especially pleased with the high quality bacon! But now there is always something wrong with the order or the food doesn't taste right. I ordered a French dip a couple weeks ago, wanted to give them another shot, but it was awful. I took off a star, as the entrance to the restaurant/lounge is somewhat confusing - we went into the restaurant, but were redirected to the lounge (outside and down one door) for a drink. My husband and I stopped in for a quick drink on a Friday afternoon. Bartender was on the ball, and we started up conversations with some of the other locals in the bar area. Friendly, welcoming people. Prices were good, conversation was good, there was a pool table (which we did not get to try out). Tonight we ordered prime rib and chicken fettuccine. I normally look forward to this special treat. Something has changed, though. The prime rib was a very large slab of meat with an odd color. It was seasoned to the point that it was not edible. We wondered if it was a bad piece of meat or a new chef. The fettuccine had a different taste too. I couldn't put my finger on it, but I stopped eating when my stomach started to hurt. The salads and the potato were great. I'm hoping this was just a bad night to order these two dishes. read more
