Waitress accidentally brought me the wrong burger that was slightly similar but didn't contain the jalapeños and picante I originally asked for but she realized the mistake pretty quick after I had already devoured some of the wrong burger. I enjoyed it nonetheless and was able to take my original order at no extra cost. Things happen. It didn't affect my opinion otherwise and now I have dinner will return if I'm back in the area. read more

Ok when I want a burger I come here. I haven't branched out into Houston since I'm a newer local around the Seabrook area. Stale buns, messed up order and flies, swarms of flies! While Stomps menu is more extensive than its rival Tookies and normally the food is on the same level. But my latest visit was met with extra slow service ( in a half full restaurant), a waitress that messed up our order and dozens of swarming flies. Stomp's Burger Joint. I have eaten there several times with different members of my family, and we all enjoyed it very much. A good burger is hard to beat but it is also hard to find, but at last there is a burger "joint" that you can get just what a burger lover desires. The food is divine. I can not think of a better word to describe it, well maybe ambrosia. The burgers are luscious fresh made and always served hot. The buns are always soft and fresh, no flaking or dried areas. They have several different burgers, not just the plain old cheeseburger, which they also have. Of the several specialty burgers they do build to order, my favorite by far is the Texas Tumble Weed. It is a large gustatory all beef patty topped with sauteed mushrooms and onions. Then it is crowned with melted Swiss cheese, tomatoes, lettuce and mayonnaise on a toasted bun. The sound of it alone is enough to make you salivate yourself into a burger frenzy. The staff is always nice and courteous. They try very hard to meet all your needs in a timely manner, but, they get extremely busy and fall a little behind at times; but I assure you the short wait is well worth it. The owners, Scott and Joann, are always on site, very friendly and always willing to spend a few minutes conversing with the customers. Now onto the part you are all waiting for, price. My wife and I go in and both eat specialized burgers, share an onion ring or french fry, trust me one order will feed two people; have a drink each and leave for about twenty dollars. You will spend that much or more feeding two people at most fast food restaurants and get sub par food and terrible service. To wrap up this long review, the food is always succulent. The staff always courteous and helpful. No matter where you live in the area, you will not find a better burger or atmosphere. My wife grew up in League City and Tookie's was her favorite burger, hands down. She was heartbroken when Tookie's didn't reopen. But then we heard about Stomp's. This place is great! When my wife took her first bite, her eyes just lit up! And I agree with another review, this place may be better than Tookie's! I know I like the free refills on their specialty sodas (Tookie's charged for refills). I always order the double meat, double cheese. And if you like onion rings, Stomp's are great! read more

For all you non-believers.....yes, there is a BURGER HEAVEN! A new burger sits atop my coveted "Best burger ever" pedestal. Better than Lankfords. Better than Fuddruckers. And yes, even better than my homemade Papa burgers. I've waited for this day for way too long. Now the quest for the world's greatest burger enters a new chapter. I have a feeling this one will remain champ for many, many years. OK, enough of the hype. Last Saturday, my son and I decided to give Stomp's a try. At 11 years old, he's already on a quest of his own to find the world's greatest burger. Let's just say his old #1 was 5 Guys. We showed up at 7pm and it was packed. Had to be about a 30 minute wait. As we walked in to get on the list, I saw an old friend sitting at the bar. (Not really a bar to serve drinks at, just an extension of the cash register area.) They were leaving and offered us their seats. We immediately were waited on and ordered. It took no less than 5 minutes to get our burgers. I got the double meat and it was almost more than I could handle. (Photo posted for your salivating pleasure.) Sam got the single and it was more than plenty for him. They were truly a sight to behold. Big and juicy. The juice was literally oozing out as the burger just sat there on the plate! Great first impression! We both like ours cooked medium and God bless the cook, he didn't disappoint. The onion rings were big (David T. maybe they ran out of the usual?) and battered up perfectly. The fries are the bigger cut, but not steak fries, and they were perfectly cooked as well. I used up no less than a dozen napkins as did my son, and he usually uses his shirt sleeve, so that's saying something. We met the guy who runs the place, Steve. Fellow Dickinson High graduate. It truly pains me to make this review but we just had the most heartbreaking experience that I had to share it. Since when was it appropriate and or Ok for a waitress to stick her tongue out at patrons? This wasn't even our waitress. Our poor little waitress was struggling and we were unhappy amongst ourselves and this lady walked by and told us people are human so calm down. When I proceeded to asked her name she stuck her tongue out at us. I just went to my favorite burger joint, recieved terrible service and had a grown woman sticke her tongue out in my face. When I tried to complain they laughed at me and told me I could leave. They would not give me the managers name, but instead called her on the spot and made it out to be me that was the problem. No ma'am I was Not the proble. The problem was the unprofessional waitress that instead of helping she stucke her out at us. Wow. I'm still in a state of disbelief. Needless to say we can Never go back there. And I would advise anyone to be careful. I paid 75 dollars to be treated like dirt. read more

I finally got to Stomp's yesterday. After reading the reviews, I knew I had to try it out. I gave it 4 stars. The burgers were homemade and cooked perfectly. I am a hamburger fanatic so it has to be good to get my vote. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because of the frozen, forgettable french fries. The onion rings are hand made and delicious, so get them instead. They would definitely get 5 stars if they started cutting fresh fries. read more

I have to hand out the stars here because I love the burgers but the owners are wonderful too! As stated in by another reviewer, they came to our house in their pop up camper and did my son and daughter in law's rehearsal dinner. It had to be raining of course, so the server they brought with them was running our food to the house under an umbrella. He was so sweet!! They were unbelievable wonderful to us. If you need to cater something, I can't say enough about Stomps. They brought plenty of food and you wouldn't know that you weren't in the restaurant because it was just as good. About the food, I as usual, always get the same thing...this time it's the Southern Belle. It's my favorite. They also have an appetizer called the Licker Skillet that is so good I could wear it and probably am! Oh my goodness! I love it! I like their onion rings too! I was having a hard time deciding whether to give Stomp's 3 Stars or 4 Stars. My husband and I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this burger joint. It's an interesting building with plenty of eclectic items throughout. The A/C was pumping, and it was cold in there. We liked that. Also, the staff was super friendly. We really liked our waitress. She was attentive and very friendly. The food was good, not great. My husband got a hamburger (the Trail Rider) and I got a turkey burger (the Outlaw). We really liked the Licker Skillet Enchilada Dip, though. Another plus: The Shiner was ice cold! We'll be back, I'm sure. read more

The fried pickles and fries were good. The biggest problem was how dry and overcooked the burger was. It was just greasy and seemed as if they pressed it while cooking it letting all the natural juiciness out on the grill. They do not even ask how you want it cooked just came out very well done with a pretty charred texture. To cook a good made to order burger they should ask how it is to be cooked (like medium or medium well) and not squeeze the juices out. If you look at the pictures of the burger you will see what I mean by overcooked, charred, and all flattened out. The management needs to try a thick juicy burger like Fuddruckers or Chili's serves. read more

When we first moved to the area we were eating here nearly once a week as we were getting settled. We have tried almost everything on the menu and are always impressed with our service and meals every single time. The restaurant is rich with dark wood and has a Western feel. I love that they have plenty of booth seating and that you can seat yourselves. You are sure to know all of the waiter and waitresses names and/or faces by your second or third visit. They all seem to be very loyal and tight knit with one another. We now have our "usual" order. My husband and I love their Rattle Snake Eggs (fried balls of cream cheese, cheddar cheese, jalapeño deliciousness), Brody burgers (Hamburger patty topped with Philly cheese steak type chopped meat), and brownies! Their Brody burgers come with a few fries and one onion ring. It's the perfect meal! We put our onion ring on the burger and add jalapeños. The best part about it all is that we pay only a couple of dollars more than what we would pay for two Whataburger meals. I will order Stomp's to go over Whatburger or anything else in that price range ANY DAY. read more

Decent burger dive decorated with Texas kitsch. The burgers are huge for the price and very tasty. There are lots of options on the menu. I wish the buns were a tad bigger, the burger was kind of falling out all over. Waitstaff was nice, if a little scattered. Beer selection is limited but they do have the domestics and Texas beers you'd expect. I'd recommend their tater tots - some of the best I've had. They have some impressive desserts, like their "fried brownie" - I was just too full from that burger to stomach dessert. So far this a choice of burger joints for us. We drive out of our way to take family there. The exterior and decor is pretty rustic but do not let that be the deal breaker, the burgers are worth it. My teenage kids have eaten at Tookies and prefer Stomps. The service is good, friendly and they pay attention. We really love the burgers and the prices. Fantastic burgers! I got the Trail Rider (chili and cheese on a burger) and it was great! I could only eat half of it, though, because I had to have room for the onion rings. They have thick or thin onion rings and I couldn't choose, so they gave me a mixture of both. Both kinds were great! My husband had the Fried Egg burger and sweet potato fries.
