I liked that you could customize the order and choose the flavor on the proteins since we have a lot of different taste buds to appease. The toppings were scarce and the actually pizza was thin like a piece of paper. The amount of sauce and cheese were so little that there was no flavor. (1/5) **Breadsticks: Pretty average breadsticks, nothing more to be said. (2.5/5) **Tri Tip (Mesquite w/ BBQ on the side): To my surprise, the main dish here was very delicious. Ever since this place opened, we've been coming here a few times a week. Needless to say, this is my new favorite place in Brea for a quick bite. Everything is as healthy or unhealthy as you make it. I especially love their huge variety of salads and healthy options. This place is like a cafeteria where you order your food first at the counter, then they bring it to you. Don't be alarmed if there's a long time, it usually goes by pretty fast. Food: Fresh and healthy. That's mainly what I look for. There are various options on salads, especially love that you can choose meat and non meat options as the protein. The bf likes to order the chicken and tri-tip combo. If you opt for medium-rare steaks, they do come out more on the rare side, so we always ask for medium now and it comes out perfectly. Not a fan of their breadsticks but it always comes with the combo; it's a little too soggy and buttery for my taste. Other than that, I've loved everything I've had here. If cauliflower is your thing, you should try the whole roasted cauliflower. We've also placed togo orders several times. You can do that in person in a dedicated togo order section to avoid the long lines, or online/app/call. These orders have been quicker than dining in. Service: Staff is super friendly and helpful. Everyone is always so happy and cheery here. Since they haven't been open for too long, there are some kinks they need to sort out. Orders, oftentimes come a little too slow, but they are quite busy. Hello Stonefire! We came in on Monday (Labor Day) not sure what to expect. It was a little busy but the wait was quick. The cashier helped us through the menu since we had to order before seating ourselves, which was cool. The menu is large and everything is made in house which is also very cool. The environment was pretty laid back and we enjoyed it, not too loud, not too crowded, nice temp on a warm day. The food was amazing. We got a couple a la cart things because we couldnt decide what to try, and my brother got a sandwich. Everything was excellent. The bbq steak sandwich...amazing. The salad my wife got, SUPER delicious. The mash potato, beans, chicken, ribs, pasta (I couldn't decide!) were all really good. Even the beverages were good, I love that they have Ginger Ale. The service staff were incredible as well. We were checked on a few times. A manager came by to check on us, someone came to clear plates, we were offered refills on our beers, they know what they're doing here at Stonefire Grill. We will definitely be back because I wanted to try a few other options but had already spent way too much. I will endeavor to order from them again next time and hopefully the tritips will be more tender. It's refreshing when business owners reach out to reconcile their internal quality controls against complaints lodged against them on Yelp. I've updated my 1-star to a 4-star. TBD. TIP FOR MANAGEMENT: Please make your Tri-Tips easier to chew on and meat more tender. The meat here is impossibly hard to chew on. The Irvine location is a lot better since the meat there is more tender and easier to chew on. read more

Just a Concerned Dad,but the water in the men's restroom is way to HOT for kids. I get it just don't leave your kids hands in there long but it's way to HOT to try and be fast about it. I made the manager and another employee aware of this situation weeks ago. And of course I received the typical oh we'll check on that. But honestly nothing has been done. We came here with 4 adults and 5 kids for dinner. The process is that you order, find a table then they will bring you the food. You get your own drinks and utensils. We have been to the other locations before so I know the menu pretty well. Good: Fish plate, chicken,pasta, Cesar salad, bread sticks, soup, chips and salsa. Not good: We got 2 plates of the 2lb of trip tip to share. This is my favorite dish but at this location, the meat came out cold. None of us wanted to eat it and ended taken the left over home. Gather here with friends for the soft opening. I have heard about Stonefire for awhile, and now finally get to try the food. I ordered Medi Sea Bass Ala Carte, Salmon Meal, Large Mesquite BBQ Pizza, Half Slab Ribs, and Tri Tip & Ribs Meal for everyone to share. The food are good especially when we came hungry. Just the Medi Sea Bass La Carte has the fishy smell/taste. I was doubting myself about the fish because I rarely had sea bass before, so I asked Rick (one of the managements) about the fishy smell like raw fish there at the time he came and asked how is everything taste. He directly told me its not supposed to be like that and went to check the chef in the kitchen I guess and I didn't get any feedback after that. The mashed potato side was dried and not smooth like other places, which is different....but just not my taste. Staff apologized to us multiple times and said "someone already paid for her entire dinner...", so then where was the manager and why was this woman not told to leave? Comes w 2 topping pizza, small salad (we got the Cesar and I think it was the best cesar ever!! It was our first time at this establishment. We arrived 645pm. The restaurant was slow when we arrived. The person on The register should handed us a menu. He pointed at the carryout menu near the door. We told him that it was our first time. I think he should explain the concept and the set up of the restaurant. No upselling (drinks or appetizers) At around 7 pm their was long line out the door. I think the people at the register need headpieces to communicate with staff when large parties were arriving. Their were three large table dirty inside restaurant and another large dirty table out side. The large group waited to be seated outside. My family and were not aware of getting your own table, getting your own, and utensils. We ordered tri-tip and ribs, salad, breadsticks, and Mac cheese. We first got our Mac & cheese and then 10 mins later we got our salad . We were confuse why mac& cheese arived first. It would of been nice to have it with our main entrees. The salad, Mac&cheese, and breadsticks were good. But the ribs need more time to cook. They were chewy and pink. The Tri-Tip was also chewy. My husband recommended this restaurant because his job used Stonefire Grill catering in the past. He was disappointed with the Tri-Tip and ribs. He wished that a beans were included. We also never saw a manager on the floor. It was Friday night it would be nice to see a leader on the floor. Their was lack of service on the floor. I noticed the runners were bringing out the food did not know where they were going. The had hot food figuring out which table to go to. They looked lost. You need more staff prebussing. When a server brings food out to a table they should always bring dirty plates as they return to line or kitchen. Overall we were curious about the restaurant. We will see if will be back. read more

I've heard good things about this chain, but never had been. I've meant to stop by the Lakewood but when they opened in Brea, I had to come. It's a little confusing when you walk in... You're greeted by somebody who recommends daily specials and asks if you have any questions. (There's no like menu board or choices anywhere around. You pick up a small menu when you walk in and order from that. Which is awkward because there's people coming in behind you and if you don't know what you're doing and you haven't had time to really look at it yet it's a little overwhelming.) Since I didn't feel like taking the time to look at the whole menu while there were people waiting behind me, I asked the greeter and he recommended the barbecue beef sandwich. It was just okay but the potato chips are really good! The sandwich was meh. My friend knew what she was doing however and her food was really good, so I know I need to come back and try again! Had my team down south and needed a hearty place to feed them for a late dinner. We were on a tight time crunch. Stone Fire was awesome! The manager helped me choose the best meal option for my team. They had it out quickly and the team loved it. The Tri-Tip was juicy, tender and well seasoned. Plenty of space for the team to sit comfortably. All in all they were great and the food was delicious. This was my first time. I came here for a late lunch. The place was almost empty because were between the lunch and dinner crowds. I ordered a soup/salad combo (bbq chicken chop salad with a chicken tortilla soup). The chicken seems like it was simply shredded chicken with bbq sauce added just before serving. Not very appealing to look at but it has a decent flavor. It would have been better if it was actually grilled bbq'd chicken. Another disappointment was that the black beans were way too hard to be enjoyed. I don't think they were hydrated well enough because they were still chalky. The soup was okay. I think I liked it better than the salad. We stopped a server and asked about other dishes. She said that the pizzas were a better option so I will try them once again. So, I'd go back again to give them one more try but I am not going to do that anytime soon. read more

We had a terrible experience on October 2, 2024 t 1:00pm. The service was not good, the food was worse and I only ate a few bites of my salad. Thank goodness, I got sick within 20 minutes. Do NOT waste your time or money. My daughter and I could not eat any of our food, no one even noticed. There was not any one in the restaurant that cared enough to notice that we did not eat. I've always had such great experiences at this Stonefire. The staff has always been friendly and the food has been delicious. My experience yesterday pretty much sucked. I stop by this location any time my boss needs me to head to Huntington Beach for work errands and it's on my way so I sit and have a nice lunch. I ordered the Tri tip meal, with a garden salad and it came with breadsticks. There's a promotion online that says drinks are currently 99 cents. The cashier didn't know about this promotion and I was charged full price and guessed maybe it was online only, but it didn't say so. I decided to go with the larger portion tri tip of 10oz because the 6oz was pretty small the last time I got it. Thought the price of $22 was pretty steep, but I was planning to take the rest home. My meal came out pretty quick and the staff was friendly. My breadsticks were very crunchy and didn't have much flavor to them. The salad was alright, but my tri tip was a joke. I was given a portion with all veins. I tried cutting and cutting and nothing worked. It took forever to be able to chew the pieces I was able to cut. I was so disappointed I couldn't enjoy my food and ended up throwing away half of my tri tip that I paid so much for and was looking forward to bringing the rest home. Maybe it was an off day, but wish they checked their meats before cooking and serving them because my order was extremely difficult to eat. read more

For $18 I could have gotten 2 rotisserie chickens and a Taylor's salad kit at Stater Brothers. The other dish we got was the chicken Tinga nachos. The nachos were mostly chips and black beans. Most chips had no cheese, and they gave us very little sour cream and guacamole. The chicken was also very dry. Nachos should not be able to fit into a personal-sized pizza box. We have been loyal patrons of the Brea location from the beginning. We've enjoyed the food from day 1. However, our last couple visits have been quite disappointing. The chicken is hit and miss with moisture and flavor, the garlic mash has been too salty, and the tri-tip overdone and really chewy. But nothing has been more disappointing than the significant decrease in the size of the "shareable" carrot cake. In the past, the size of the slice was indeed shareable and almost filled up the 10x7" to go container. The now 3x2.5" shareable pieces isn't sufficient enough to be a child's portion.
