Bbq plate and kids katsu chicken - so delicious hit the spot
    Jessica G.

Had a delicious lunch with baby girl after picking her up from school. I didn't eat all day besides jamba juice after my root canal. I thought this might be soft enough to eat. It hurt a bit but the service the girl that took our order was so friendly and kind. She had a smile on her face and even brought our food to the table. We always come to this location they always make it perfectly here. Baby girl wanted to draw in her little book so she asked the lady for a pen she let her borrow one that was so nice thank you so much :) so sorry I didn't get her name. We decided to dine in and it was nice having a late lunch/dinner. Enjoyed our meal, we also had drinks but I didn't take a photo of those. I got Mt. Dew and baby girl got root beer lol. The parking lot is always busy here but we found a spot. Thank you so much for our delicious food and amazing service. Have a beautiful day, be kind to everyone :) Aloha

I haven't always had the best customer service experiences with L&L, but I usually opt here when I'm craving Hawaiian food and need someplace nearby. I called in for take out and ordered a "Chicken Combo (half BBQ chicken, half chicken katsu) Plate" ($17.35) and a "Kalua Pork with Cabbage Plate" ($16.99). This time, service was friendly and my food was ready quickly within 10 minutes. Each plate came with 2 scoops of rice and 1 scoop of mac salad. All the meats were flavorful and good, and I especially liked how the katsu stayed really crispy even after a 15 minute drive. The only drawback was the stiff price for the portion size you get. I usually get full from most other Hawaiian BBQ places, but I left still feeling hungry after my meal at L&L.

Authentic Hawaiian food located in the plaza where Walmart is in Brea - next to Super Juicy Pork Dumpling. Quick serve, casual spot where you order at the register and grab a seat. Food comes out quickly and tastes freshly made. - Spam Musubi: my kids love it but order it with light rice. - Chicken Katsu: hubs favorite with a really good katsu sauce - BBQ Mix Plate: for those who can't decide and wanna try a couple bbq items. All very good bbq choices. - Mac Salad: comes with all the plates and minis, I don't usually like Mac salad but this one is a must try. - Kaluah Pork: not dry at all, very flavorful. I like to eat it with the katsu sauce

Easy to find. Lots of parking. Indoor and outdoor seating. Not the best location. I feel like all L&L locations are either a hit or miss. I only come here if I'm really craving Hawaiian BBQ and I'm too lazy to drive far since this is the closest to work. Lower quality food with overpriced menu. Expect to pay around $20 for one meal. Or opt out for a smaller portion less with a bowl.

My boyfriend was craving Hawaiian food, and since we were in the area, we decided to try L&L Hawaiian Barbecue. We ordered the curry chicken katsu and the loco moco. The portions were huge, especially for the chicken katsu. I wasn't a fan of the curry since it was too salty, but everything else was tasty. It is fast-food Hawaiian food, so we were a bit generous for the four stars rating since you pay for what you get.

The one thing that bb.q Chicken does that blows every other competitor out of the water is their secret sauce. It's basically Korean fried chicken on crack because the flavor is BOMBDOTCOM. We picked our table and looked at the menu for a good while waiting for him to come take our order but he never did nor did he explain that we had to order on the mini screen from the table. My son said," mom maybe we have to order on the screen" and so we ordered from screen. When the food came out he brought it over one by one but never said a word to us.. literally plopped it down and walked away. He brought us our 3 soda cans with 1 cup of ice and two cups stacked under it. I asked if I can have another cup of ice and he brought over one more cup with literally 4 piece of ice in it. lol ‍ After all our food came out we ate without him ever coming over to ask us if we needed anything else.. when we were done I asked for some boxes to take our leftover and he didn't say a word just brought boxes over and a bag and left it on table and walked away lol.. his service was pretty bad honestly .. but the chicken was so good! So crispy and I added a spicy sauce on the side and it was spicy goodness! The cabbage salad with house thousand island was delicious too! The cheese balls was good but on the sweeter side. The fries were crispy and delicious. The star of our lunch was for sure the crispy chicken wings so good! I wish we had one in sac!

The host immediately greeted us with a warm smile, explained that it was a full-service restaurant, and made us feel welcome right away. I ordered the chicken plate since I don't eat mammals, and it was flavorful, juicy, and cooked perfectly. My partner ordered the large beef rib. At first, he was surprised because the meat was served off the bone instead of on it, but after the first bite, that didn't matter anymore. The flavor was rich, the meat was incredibly tender, and it quickly became one of the highlights of the meal. One thing you shouldn't skip is trying the different BBQ sauces. My wife and I shared the 2 meat plate and added the beef rib bone and a happy hour portion of the brisket fries. I eat a lot and we had a lot left over! The ribs were perfectly smoked and not overwhelming and did not even need sauce on them! The brisket was a little on the dryer side but was still pretty good The beef rib was a little heavy on the pepper for my taste but was still great and not many places offer a Dino sized beef rib The brisket fries were loaded with cheese and brisket and were amazing The Mac n cheese and creamed corn were fantastic however the creamed corn was a little on the sweeter side but was still full of flavor The corn bread is a must to add on! It's not overly sweet but more of a perfect balance of sweet and savory and paired with the special butter, it is perfection! We spent about 100$ total for ALOT of food and had plenty of leftovers. All in all this restaurant does a great job if you want authentic bbq! It's not like Lucille's or Dickeys, this place has real bbq and because of that it will be my new go to for bbq!

They all decided that we're taking Lucille's out of our family dinner list. We usually frequent Lucille's since my son loves bbq ribs and we'd come here for a celebration. Like for this Tuesday evening we came to celebrate my bro in law n my son's bday. Duo celebration. If you look at my review from 4 years ago, 5 stars and i haven't updated since because it's usually been pretty good each time returning that there was no need to update it. But this experience we had this past week was really bad that we've decided that we likely will be stop coming to our local Lucille's. Read other reviews on here that aren't left a while back and looks like they've also mention how Lucille's quality along as service has gone down tremendously a lot. When we were seated, we didn't get any assistance from a server til 10 mins plus. We had to ask the associate that was wiping down tables if he was covering our area to get some assistance. He informed us that our server should be right over. Our fountain drinks that we ordered Sprite, Dr Pepper and sweet tea tasted off. There was barely any carbonation nor did the sweet tea had any sweetening to the tea we loved here. We informed our server and she told the manager gal. The manager came and spoke to us 5 mins later and confirmed to us she noticed the fountain drinks were off and was having an associate replace the fountain drinks machine but meanwhile offered if we can get another drink in the time being without no charge so we may enjoy something with our meals. We took the offer n got a strawberry lemonade along w a peach lemonade also while waiting for the replacement soda. My kids weren't too much of a fan of lemonade but tried their best to enjoy the lemonade. About 20 mins to half n hour later. The manager did see us and came back to ask how our replacement soda tasted and we informed her we never got our replacement soda. She let an associate know and we finally got our replacement soda. But by then, we were about done w our meals and was pretty full. Ask an associate that is now no longer our original server but a server that was just bringing our food and drinks to us. A to go cup so we can just take our replacement soda to go. We never got out to go cup. Either they were short staffed that evening or associates just wasn't happy being there. Because when we asked for Togo containers too. It took some time to get it. Please Lucille's management, if you see this review. Look into your staffs. The restaurant is clean it's just there are some etiquettes that need to be going over. A BIG HUGE READ FLAG. Why would an associate be SWEEPING RIGHT NEXT TO A TABLE THAT IS CURRENTLY TRYING TO ENJOY THEIR DINNER. Where do you think sweeping the floor. The dust particles up in the air would go to. It'll be flying around where we are digesting our food. This is something no one would enjoy seeing when eating. Not sure if the associate didn't have a clue regards to this. ITS POOR HYGIENE for a restaurant industry. I was feeling under the weather along there was no upper management nor much associate to even let them know what we were dealing with. With all of the ordeal and mishap. If you look at my review b4 this. We've got a complimentary bday celebration dessert but this time. We just wanted to be done. Didn't even bother doing our annual bday celebration there that my son enjoys with his uncle for their bday celebration tradition. We still left a 16% tip because we know how things are with possibly server just being low staffed. Because we saw our original server Alyssa at the end b4 leaving the restaurant. She was able to give us a set of Togo boxes. Told us she apologized she couldn't continue serving us because she had a bigger party of 15 to attend to. That would've been great to know b4 she left our table to serve the other table so we weren't turning our head constantly trying to find any service from anyone. We just decided to pay on the tablet. By than didn't want to deal with anyone and wanted to leave asap. Since that was the only service that can help us pay for our bill. Please LUCILLES...DO BETTER!

About twice a year is all I need to meet my smoked meat hankering. This place is great for when I'm in the mood for BBQ, but it's my go-to spot on Tuesdays for these $3 tacos. Massive tacos made with substantial handmade tortillas and protein of your choice. I usually go with the perfectly grilled and smoky shrimp, but other options include tri-tip, brisket, pork belly or pulled pork. The best part is that they griddle one side of the tortilla with queso fresco first and then flip it over to griddle the other side with the filling inside. The result is a perfectly chewy, yet sturdy vehicle with an internal layer of cheese browned into the tortilla, holding all of the goodies (protein, raw onion and cilantro) intact. Their house made salsa is more of a roasted salsa verde but works really well with the smoky meats and packs some good heat. This place goes hard on the hunger and easy on the wallet. Cheap beers on tap is a nice touch, too.
