This is the 3rd time I stopped by to have lunch with friends. And it was around 1:30 PM. And this time like the times before, ALL the tables that were vacant were dirty from prior customers. Several customers were walking around trying to find a table. Despite the numerous employees in the restaurant, I had to ask two different employees to please clean a table so my friends and I could sit down. Whoever the manager is - is NOT doing their job! First time, I have tried Stone Fire Grill. I was greeted by two very friendly and professional employees. I ordered, the Tri Tip and ribs combo, which was Good, but definitely could have used more barbecue sauce on the meat, and a side of barbecue sauce for us barbecue lovers. One thing I am highly disappointed with, was the beer, I ordered. I tried a blond ale, but they served the beer considerably warmer then it should be, and it really caught my attention. There is nothing like an ice cold beer, in an ice cold mug. The meat and service was Good, but fyi, don't over cool the rib meat, it can get dry. But they have a good barbecue sauce, just not using enough of it. At the very least, bring out a side of sauce with the plate, so it can be used as needed per individual preference. read more

Had employees that went out of their way to help us by grabbing bowls to show us the portion sizes when we mentioned it was our first time here. The food is delicious and not much pricier than a Chili's if at all. If you're thinking about Chili's or Applebees, try Stonrefire instead. 3 stars because this location is a hit or miss when it comes to pastas. Sometimes their pasta is bomb and is on point and sometimes it'snnot enough sauce. You definitely get more when you sit there and eat verse taking it to go. My favorite is their mashed potoatoes- those are really good! Their pasta and salmon dishes are good though. One of the worst dining experiences i have had. So basically the way this place works is you walk in you order at the front then you have to go and find a booth, somewhat of a challenge when its busy, then they will bring you the food, my chicken breast was burnt to a nice charcoal and my husbands tri tip was about 60% fat. The ice machine was out of ice and you have to retrieve utensils yourself and yes they have a house special bbq sauce which is a peppery runny (see watered down) horse crap that they masquerade as bbq sauce. Overall, i would NOT recommend this place to my dog let alone another person. read more

Stonefire Grill used to be a lot better. The ribs were mostly fat, poor grades of meat. Also, don't bother with being a walk-in. I have twice waited for a single meal and not a large order and each time the food sat there getting cold until I requested after 30 minutes where my order was. I know they are busy but need a better process in customer service for the walk-in public. Awesome food, horrible hostess. My family and I came in for dinner and it was packed. My brother put our name on the "list" while they were waiting for me to get there. (They waited about 5 minutes for me.) I've never had to be on the "list," since I don't usually come when it's busy. I stopped in to ask what the seating procedure was at all I got was attitude from the hostess. Mind you, I am obviously really pregnant. I'm due any day now. Seating time is a pretty important priority for me right now. And my 3 yr toddler was sleeping. I was clear and told her I've never had to wait for the list and did not know how it worked. All I got was attitude after asking for clarification. And to top it off, she told my brother it was a 20 minute wait. When I asked for clarification of the seating process, she added another 20 minutes. If we weren't here for a special occasion, my mom's birthday, I'd ask for the manager. Family restaurant not so family friendly after all. The foods still good tho. read more

It is most unfortunate. I eat at Stonefire Grill at least once a week. I love the food there. Especially the salads. My boss won't eat any salad from there anymore due to a bad side affect after eating it. Lower intestinal issues. Ahum. Anyway, I decided to ask if they spray anything on their salad. Well they do. Something called "Victory Wash". It is a poison used to kill bacteria such as EColi. This Victory Wash is Peracetic Acid. It's supposed to be safe. But if you read the MSDS on it, it would make you think twice about eating anything that has been bathed in it. Bottom line is the food is tasty, but the side effects may be less desirable. I say they should use just plain old water to wash the salad and veggies. read more

I love this place because mainly of their pesto pasta! I am very fond of pesto and the way they cook it is oh-so-yummm!!! Oozing with pesto sauce, not too creamy, and not too dry, just the right mix. I am also a fan of their lemon garlic chicken and salmon! I've gone here a lot of times and well, sometimes the salmon is a bit dry, but most of the time, it is cooked well. I have yet to try their pizza selection. I always say I'm going to try it, but every time I'm there, I always choose to order my favorite pesto. Winnetka, Sunday, March 29, 2015, my husband and I always go there for salad and chicken with lemon and garlic. It was tender, juicy and very flavorful. Today, just as we got out of the car the strong smell of garbage in front was so baaad. But we went in anyway, we ordered our favorite Lemon Chicken and Hybrid salad. The Chicken was very dry and the lemon chicken sauce was just poured on the chicken not baked with the chicken. The salad was too dry, not enough dressing. Inside the restaurant were many huge flies. Not a satisfied customer. I have ordered Stonefire for parties and catered dinners and they were previously, "ok," not terrible. Within the last year, the quality of the food has declined. Today I ordered a large pasta dish for a holiday party and there was about enough meat on it so that one person might get a portion with any sauce or meat. When I asked for more sauce they said they had to charge me. When I showed them that my $19.99 large side of pasta had sauce on 10% of the noodles the manager indicated that I should mix it. When I mixed the dish the amount of sauce did not change. The response from the manager was not satisfactory and the dish was worth $19.00 as box of rigatoni with no sauce is $1.25, which is what I got. read more

My family and I ate at Stonefire Grill over the weekend. Service was friendly, fast and attentive. Food was delish! I had the BBQ Chopped Salad with chicken; really good! My daughters split the tri-tip for two. I had a bite of the tri-tip, so tender and flavorful. Hubby and Father-in-law had sandwiches, both super tasty. Mom-in-had the pasta with pesto. I come here every once and awhile. The food is good. Tonight wasn't busy so there were plenty of seats. We didn't have to wait inline to order and the food arrived within 10 mins. Well some of the food arrived. Our server brought out the salad and bread sticks and said he would return with the vegetables. 20 mins into our meal we had to remind Matthew about the vegetables. With an " oh shoot" on his face he said he would get on it. 10 mins later and still no vegetables. Went to the cashier to ask for the vegetables to be cancelled and received an "Ok" response.
