Been here twice. The first time, the grilled chicken and tri-tip were plentiful and tasty. I can not say the same for my second visit. I ordered the same dish, the combo grilled chicken and trI-tip, however, this time, the tri-tip was only a tiny portion, chewy and tasteless. The chicken had no flavor. Poor dining experience and food. Ordered some potato chips, two tritips, a chicken and some ribs. The potato chips tasted gross, like it was soaked on unclean oil for a long time, may likely be that the chip were dropped into the fryer before the the oil (unclean) even gotten hot, so the chips end up getting soaked rather than fried. Both tritips came out well-done, rather than medium as ordered. Ribs came out hard and dry like jerkies, I almost choked while eating it. Worst of all, there were grease underneath my platter and then platter dripped grease all over tan colored shorts, so I had to go home and change immediately after eating! read more

I came here for the first time today. The line was long and slow at the hostess counter. When I finally arrived and asked for a table for 2, I was told that I place my order with the hostess or whatever you might call her. We find our own table and she gives us a gps type of gadget so our food can find us. I wasn't prepared to order and just waited in a long line and didn't want to wait again so I hastily picked something I thought would be easy. I didn't care for the less than full service system. I would have accepted that if the food was good. It wasn't. I ordered the half chicken. It was so dry that it posed a chocking hazard. I could barely get it down. Forget all the complaints about the service...it's perfectly fine. So you have to get up off your lard-ass and gather your own plates and silverware. Who cares? You need the exercise. If there is something else you require that isn't available self-service, the numerous employees are more than happy to assist. If you have a problem with crowded restaurants, then I suggest you visit the Stonefire at an off-peak time. It actually has a relaxed, comfortable dining atmosphere. The smell of the wood grill is incredible. It's also great that since you've paid for your meal in advance, you don't have to wait for a check when you're ready to leave. The prices are reasonable, the portions are massive, and the food is quite tasty! Ate hear on a business trip to Chatsworth recently. Imagine a BQQ restaurant that follows the Pei-Wei model. Had the baby back ribs, which were good. Cesar salad was OK, not great. Good house merlot. I didn't care for the family style approach to serving a la carte food. Also, I didn't find any hand wipes to help rid my fingers of stickiness. Overall I was pleased, and will be back. read more

Just attended our family Christmas Eve party and it was catered by this location. The chicken was very moist and good but that was about it. The tri tip was prepared medium rare, which is the way i like it, but the sauce was very sweet almost like A-1 crossed with some ketchup or something that you can buy in the supermarket. The Caesar Salad was no better. The dressing was very thick and the lettuce was not clean (i.e. I had several bites of dirt). While people have raved about the breadsticks, I did not find them much better than what you can get from the chain pizza joints. I don't know if I should try the location to see if it is better catered versus eating at the restaurant. read more

Love the tri-tip, salads, and LOVE the cowboy beans! The staff is always friendly, the food is great. The beans are the best, however, the quality isn't always consistent. I get take out from here from all the time, I just had such a horrible experience yesterday with their take out that I refuse to go to this location ever again. The workers have no sense of what customer service means and my take out order took 45 min when they quoted me 20 on the phone. No one told me that they were running so behind. Slow service, makes mistakes in the orders. I placed a to go order 15 minutes prior to arriving and found out that they prepared the wrong food. Had to wait 20 more minutes which made me miss lunch and the manager didn't even give me a discount or any compensation for their mistake. read more

Last night was my first time eating at Stonefire Grill. We started off on a rough patch. We ordered our food TO GO and we got a table. We got the stimulus package (Ask what's included in this great deal!) which is taken out only but we were told it would be brought to our table regardless. Well they forgot about our order I guess it had been sitting at the TO GO counter for a while. The young man who helped my BF and I took great care of us. He had a new order made. He was kind enough to add extra tri tip and he even gave us 1 cookie and 1 brownie. The fact that he was so kind and he clearly felt we waited so long (About an hour) for our order, is why I am rating them a 5. I wish I got this young mans name. Oh well either way the food was great. Plenty for 2 and tons of left overs. A must try and I will definitely go back. read more

The food is good, but that one runner was one of the rudest workers ever! We ordered medium WELL tri-tip steak, and he brought back medium RARE. My brother Kindly asked him to bring the plate of steak back to the kitchen to cook the meat more, and CLIFFORD decided to just have them add more sauce, thinking we wouldn't notice AT ALL! Bad customer service CLIFFORD. Not to mention, his hair was so greasy and he was sweating too, and he had no problem running his fingers through his oily ass hair while serving the food! This is an update of the very negative review I wrote a week or so ago. I haven't been back to the restaurant, but for two reasons I'm changing to a better rating: 1. Justin at Stonefire really stepped forward to apologize for the experience we had at his facility, and to offer to make it right. To me that's an indication of a good manager and good business practices. 2. I've talked to numerous people who eat there frequently and they say our experience is not typical. All of them recommended ordering meat entrees and leaving the salads for some other place, so I think we'll try that next time. read more

3 out of 5 times we have been here. Service has been decent Our first time here was horrible. You want honesty here you go. We came to this location for our date night on Saturday. Walked through the door smelled great when we go to the counter to order the host says they ran out of tri tip and they weren't sure if they had chicken breast so we left. Who runs out their main dish? Okay second time here we hot tri tip and chicken two beers and a milk for my daughter. Waiter never brought out drink and they ran out of milk. My family and I are frequent Stonefire customers and decided to order catering for a graduation celebration. This was our first time ordering catering from Stonefire and we absolutely loved it! We had the boneless BBQ chicken breast, marinara pasta, garlic breadsticks, nutty coleslaw, and Stonefire's BBQ chopped salad. Ordering was a breeze and the food was ready at the time scheduled for pick-up and was still hot by the time we got home! Everything was packaged perfectly and tasted DELICIOUS, which made for an excellent lunch which our guests LOVED! The only downside (and the reason why this review isn't 5 stars) was that Stonefire didn't provide the dressing for the nutty coleslaw, which made it kind of dry and not what we were expecting. The veggies and peanuts for the coleslaw were fresh, though, and made for a tasty salad. Will definitely order from here again! read more

Hubby and I always enjoy having a meal here. But today it took over 30 minutes to get our meal and dessert. We told 2 servers about the situation and they said it would come right out and never did. 7/13/18: My friend and I went to StoneFire in Northridge on Friday night 6/13/18 around 6:15pm. I haven't been to this location in a while because the last time I came I had a problem with them getting my food cooked properly. I thought enough time had passed and I would give this location another try. Well, big mistake. My friend and I ordered the same thing, the meal which consisted of 1/4 lemon garlic chicken and pepper garlic tri tip plus cauliflower salad side. Our food comes and the first thing we noticed is that my friend got 1/4 white meat chicken and I got 1/4 dark meat chicken. Nowhere on their menu did it say that you had a choice between white or dark meat plus the person at the register taking our order did not ask us if we prefer white meat or dark meat. Luckily my friend prefers white and I prefer dark, however this was poor customer service and it should be changed to ask which the customer prefers. However, that was not why the experience was bad. My chicken was SWIMMING in oil or grease whatever they use it was disgusting. I don't know what they did but perhaps since dark meat creates a lot of fat instead of draining it when they put on my plate and maybe putting a little of the lemon garlic sauce on, they must've just poured the whole thing on my plate. It came from the lemon garlic sauce because they were pieces of chopped up garlic in the grease. There was such a large amount of it on the plate it seeped into the tri tip. I had to use a napkin to blot the grease off my tri-tip. Then I had to remove the chicken onto another small plate and block my plate with another napkin. There was so much grease that the napkin didn't even blot up the whole thing. My friend's chicken had very little sauce & she would have preferred a lot more. Of course, no one, repeat not one server ever came by just to ask how we were doing. Again poor customer service. In fact my friend had to get up and get her own to go boxes because no servers ever came by. Anyway, I gave this place another chance after staying away for a while and again they did a terrible job with the food preparation. My suggestion is to go to the Stonefire in West Hills which is on Fallbrook. They seem to be able to get their food prep correct. read more

Yes, their food is delicious. Which is about the only reason I was generous enough to give them two stars instead of the mandatory minimum one star. My entire family loves Stonefire Grill. We eat there at least once a week, or at least we used to. For my best friend's wedding shower, I decided to order all the food from Stonefire. To my disappointment, once we received the food, we were missing one full tray of mashed potatoes ($60). Unfortunately, we didn't notice this until it was too late. My husband picked up the food, which was so much that it filled up his trunk and his backseat, so I can understand why he didn't notice it at first, especially since he was not offered any help out and he had to do multiple trips to the car to get everything loaded up. How rude. My company orders catering from Stonefire in West Hills regularly and I can't recall them ever not offering to help us to the car with the food. Anyway, once he arrived at the shower we realized that we were missing an item and after doing a quick inventory we figured out what it was. As if it wasn't bad enough to stress about being short on food, when I called in to tell them we were missing a tray, they apologized and offered me a gift card with the value of the tray on it. Are you effin kidding me? I don't want your gift card! I want my money! I ordered food for 100 people two weeks ago and you didn't give me what I ordered and instead of giving me my money back, you want to give me a gift card so I can come back? Uh...no way! I finally convinced the manager that I didn't want a gc, that I deserved my money back, but was so appalled by how they handled things! Yea, we got our refund, but we had to figure out what to do to have enough food to feed our guests. I thought I could count on them so I wouldn't have to worry about the food, but in the end, I ended up worrying just as much if not more! Never again! read more

The only reason they don't get 5 stars from me is because their "roasted vegetables" were uncooked, not roasted but more like laid on the grill to have grill marks and the zucchini tasted liked it was soaked in propane (5 of us agreed on the taste).
