Went with a friend for lunch today. This was my first time at this location. Nice and clean and roomy inside. We opted to sit in the patio outside. Big and bright..nice ambiance BUT huge mistake. I felt like they just forget about the people who dine out there. No one, and I mean No one came to check on us. When we needed something, we had to get up from our table, more then once, and track a server down. My salad was delish but my friend's salad came without the chicken. After waiting and tracking someone down, they brought out the chicken separately. OMG why did it smell rotten? And only after we both took a bite of it! So it took another 20 minutes to get someone to remove it from our table. Service here is non existent if you sit on the patio. And maybe part of the problem is all of the servers congregating at the back tables near the restrooms, like they are all on a break at once....like 6 of them! This location lacks management or at least it did today. And to serve rotten chicken too? I can't say that I will be back. read more

This review is not about the food which is delicious and freshly made, but I am displeased about the service the past few times I have had a dine-in meal at this location. My Family and I came for lunch and dinner on numerous different occasions during the summer. On 3 or 4 dine-in meals (the last on 9/5/2016) we order our food, take our number, sit down, and wait. The staff will bring us some of food and before we can realize it they have taken the location number. This causes great delays in getting the rest our order. When we are having a family meal and one of us does not have our order it is awkward, when this happens nobody wants to eat. Then we all just start watching the staff bring out food looking for the rest of or order. That is when we'll notice the number is gone and we have to go find the rest of our food, which is usually has been sitting on the counter for awhile. read more

I don't give many 5 star reviews... The food was great, as always. The service was very attentive for a busy time. I brought my whole family, and we were treated great. The staff checked on us constantly, offered to clear plates in a timely manner, asked many times if their was anything they could get for us. I couldn't believe what great service we received. I go to stone fire all the time, but normally I go to the one in Santa Clarita. I recently moved out here & I was pleased to see there was another location so close by. The food is always good, but the service at this location was terrible. I finally found a good table to sit at but it was dirty so I had to ask to get that cleaned off, when I asked the girl looked at me like "really you want me to clean It ?!?!" &&& then the bbq sauce ran out.. The food is just delicious. My favorite menu item is the South of the Border Salad with tri tip! Oh my GOODNESS!! So many different flavor combos going on in your mouth! I can eat this salad 3 times a day, everyday!! Also, the breadsticks are really good! I think I can eat a whole basket in one sitting, but I've never tried. I'm not too fond of their sauce. It has the consistency of corn syrup, and it tastes like smokey ketchup. I would hardly call that bbq sauce. I was disappointed in the beans too. And the one thing that really irritates me about this place is that they do not provide lids for the small sauce cups. If I have leftover meat I want to take home, wouldn't I want to take some sauce home too? Actually, come to think of it, they might give it to you if you ask, but I never have. But, then why would you not leave it out with the cups in the first place? This is one of my all time favorite places to eat in the valley! I am a huge fan of chicken. The lemon garlic sauce they use on their rotisserie chicken is out of control good. Reasonable prices, and good portions at this place. I always enjoy eating here as it offers a casual atmosphere, and extremely reasonable prices. I can only think of one or two times where the chicken wasn't exactly to my tastes, and usually this was due to the chicken being over-cooked. The bread sticks are phenomenal as well! I have tried their salads before, and felt they didn't live up to the lemon garlic chicken. My girlfriend has ordered several of their pizzas which were pretty descent. Mmm Mmm Mmm BBQ. Look, if your're not here for the tri-tip, I don't know what else your looking for. I love their tri-tip. It's super moist, and tasty....every single time. These guys are consistent. The garlic bread sticks are good, but I could take them or leave them. I have seen some pretty impressive looking salads there too. But frankly, I come for the tri-tip and have never been disappointed. I can be noisy and crowded at times, but the staff is always nice and attentive. The order first, sit and be served style is really conducive to large parties. No hassle with splitting checks, etc. You can do this place up cheap for $10 if you want, or go crazy and get a whole slew of meats and stuff your face for $25ish which is still good. This place makes me feel like an irrationally finicky eater. And I am. Sort of. But not really. There are TONS of things I can eat, and honestly, there are tons of things on their menu that I like when I make them at home... but when I go in on the group lunch order at Stonefire, where a few of my coworkers always seem to want to eat, I'm generally left disappointed. Their salads are good in theory, but it seems like nothing is really made to order. I'm a huge fan of simple salads with really top-notch, fresh components... and they chop everything up and serve it as needed. For some ingredients, like cheese, this is no big deal... but for other ingredients, like tomatoes, you lose flavor the longer you let the chopped ingredient sit in the cold station. Overall, their salads are really heavy. If you're on a diet, and you'd normally order a burger, this will suit you just fine. If you're used to light & fresh, the cheese, the meat, the dressing, well, it adds up to a lot of hard to digest fat. You'd think it'd be simple enough to just modify some of the salads to reduce the overly salty, rich, or fatty ingredients, but somehow that never seems to work either. One of my coworkers is OBSESSED with the Golden State Kale salad, but she orders it with lemon wedges... because Stonefire doesn't soften their kale in lemon before serving. She actually marinates it herself, then adds the extremely thick and heavy tahini dressing it comes with. If that isn't annoying enough, they somehow forget the garbanzo beans about every third time she orders it! This has definitely happened to me as well- I ask for none of this, and end up with none of this and none of that. Here's the thing: eating out is a luxury if you know how to cook. Charging $7 for a salad I could make for $3 is fine, if it's the same quality as what I can create at home. Charging $15 for a salad I can't make is even better! That's a wonderful culinary experience. I feel like the failure of Stonefire is in trying to please everyone- too many menu options means that no one in the kitchen is really specializing in any one dish, and let me tell you, it shows.... if you know what you're looking for. read more

Kind of like fast food place kind of like a mid-range restaurant....but the food was good. You order in line up front and they bring you the food. The servers where mostly young kids as you can imagine, but very nice and friendly. You pour your own beverage at the beverage bar, get your own silverware and plates, but that is fine with me. They have beer too, but that is not self serve. The menu is a bit confusing as small is not always the smallest so you have to pay attention to what you order or you'll get way too much food. Just wanted to comment on one of the best examples of customer service I have ever experienced. I ordered lunch and carrot cake to be delivered to my friend as a surprise for her birthday. It was especially important to me because she is going through some difficult things and I am away and unable to be with her. Well, the order never was delivered due to a mixup by the 3rd party delivery service. I received a call from Shannon at Stonefire and she was SO apologetic and genuinely wanted to make things better. It was way past lunch time and I knew my friend had plans for dinner so I told her nevermind. But Shannon really wanted to help. So she ended up having cake delivered. Above and beyond. My 7 yr. old nephew had his birthday here because it's his favorite (lol!) but man he has impeccable taste. BBQ is soo bombskies. Meat falls right off the bone, so tender and juicy (that's what she said!). Salads (caesar) and pizzas are good too. Service was good, considering we had a large party of more than 15 people and they made sure we had everything we needed. What's even more awesome are their Stimulus Meal Deals! For the amount of food and quality, comparable to Wood Ranch and Lucille's (maybe), this place is one of the best BBQ places I've been to for the price. I don't know how anyone could not give 5 stars for the food alone! My backgroud is in event planning, specifically catering, more specifically bbq, wood-fire bbq so I'm very critcial when it comes to bbq, especially tri-tip. We had a company meeting and when I heard we were having bbq, I was very hesitant and of course, thinking that it was going to be terrible. Boy, was I wrong...the tri-tip was cooked beautifully and most importantly, CARVED correctly, chicken was flavorful and moist, beans had a good flavor, and garlic-mashed potatoes were amazing (and I am not a mashed potato fan). I figured if their food could be good for a delivery, then it must be good at the restaurant. So, three months later I decided to try it last night. And let me tell you...it met all my expectations! We weren't expecting the serve-yourself-type restaurant, but that's really besides the point..The food was exceptional! I highly, highly recommend the tri-tip. It's great as leftovers too. My favorite place to get bbq in the valley. I always leave Stonefire really full because I eat so many breadsticks! Their breadsticks are addicting and goes great with their bbq sauce. Whenever I come here I usually eat with family because a lot of the food here is family style sized and can be shared by 3-5 people. They also have family meals where you can get a full slab of ribs, a big bowl of salad, and 12 breadsticks for around $36 which can easily be shared by 4 people. Other than the breadsticks my favorite thing here is the pasta and the ribs. The Mac and cheese or Marinara pasta never disappoint and the baby back ribs are always good. Whenever you eat in you always pay first at the register before getting seated. Also all the plates and utensils are self serve. I like how you pay first so you know exactly how much you spent beforehand. read more

Service was very friendly. Ordered the ribs, tri tip [medium] with the boyfriend. It was a busy night so the food took a little longer. Tri-tip was not medium. So overcooked and dried out. Definitely does not compare to woodranch. Ribs were tender... pretty standard. Ambiance was ok-sat us next to the fireplace, but lots of children screaming and whatnot [this of course is not the restaurant's fault] In hindsight, we should have sent the tri tip back, but we were starving by that point. This location is definitely a lot busier but we always seem to still get great service. While we were waiting in line to order our food we had an employee take our name and number of people and they found us a seat and put our name on it so we didn't have to look! Although it was Friday night service was pretty efficient and we were seated within 10-15 minutes. Portions are large and price reasonable. We ordered 1/2 order of tri tip - black pepper, petite Ceasars salad, small pesto pasta and 8 breadsticks and one soda..total cost $37, plus gave a tip. Tri tip was good at medium, just add a little salt for more flavor, pesto very tasty as was the bread sticks. Caesar salad was average. Even though you have to get your own utensils, plates and drinks, the servers and manager checked on us a few times to see if we needed anything and how food was. (GOOD way to make sure your customers are satisfied.) One less star because the booth seat cushion felt a little low for the table. I have eaten at Stonefire Grill many times (various locations), however this location just didn't cut it. There were many mistakes done by the restaurant. 1) I ordered the garlic butter tri-tip. I had asked for the meat to be cooked medium/well. I mentioned medium first and then switched to medium/well. When my meal arrived, the tri-tip was more than well done. Also, it lacked flavor. If I am paying $10 for a small piece of meat I would, at least, expect for it to have some salt/pepper. 3/10 rating. 2) My husband ordered the full rack of ribs, sadly his experience was the same. The sauce/glaze used for the ribs was not BBQ but rather a sweet sauce, which didn't taste well. 2/10 3) We had a child under the age of 4 with us who was very hungry. The staff brought her meal out last. Any good restaurant knows that a child's meal should always arrive first. I would NOT return to this restaurant. I can spend that money elsewhere at a better establishment with better service and better food with flavor. read more

I have been to this location a handful of times. I always leave with a full stomach and a smile on my face. Stonefire's family size portions encourage sharing within your party. First you order at the counter and then you can choose your seat while you wait for your food to be served. Drinks and utensils are self service. I usually order the same thing: a full slab of ribs, extra charred, with bread sticks and an Asian salad. The ribs are cooked to my liking. They are brushed with a slight glaze as the focus is more on the meat than the sauce. The breadsticks compliment the ribs with their buttery, parmesan, parsley, and garlic like taste. The Asian salad is very refreshing. It cleanses the palette with its fresh fruits and crunchy nuts. All in all Stonefire is a winner for me and I highly recommend it. read more

I have been going to Stonefire when it first opened. The food was phenomenal back then. We would order half tri tip and half chicken with the cart wheel salad which I hated. I loved the tri tip and chicken, but prefer caesar salad. The breadsticks was always a win-win. We would eat here in 2002-2004. We had moved into our new house and this was the next best thing to a delicious home cooked meal. We had stopped going since our house was ready. It's been many years since. Now with the corona virus, we decided it was time to get some of that home cooked goodness. We ordered through curbside pickup. The lady who helped us described to us how the meat would appear like. We got our food and arrived home. What didn't come with the meal is the utensils and napkins. Ok, that won't set me off. We had ordered a rare and medium rare tri tip with garlic seasoned mash potatoes and baked beans with caesar salad and breadsticks. The caesar salad and bread sticks were the best. It was the center piece of the whole meal, practically. The tri tip's were not cut thoroughly. We were not told that it would be so tough to cut. Of course, you would think rare would be tough. But both tri-tips were tough to eat. My mom and I felt that we were eating muscle throughout the tri tip. The baked beans were bland and the mash potatoes was so dry that I felt I was eating bread. I have been to Stonefire several times and have always consider this a go to spot. Food has always been satisfactory. I understand we are in the midst of unprecedented times but my recent experience here has me even more on edge. I was happy to here of the awesome deals Stonefire was offering along with the curbside service. Like everyone else, it is currently nerve wrecking to go out and run our necessary errands. My family wanted a break from the recent norm and when we came across Stonefire's offers, we thought what a great idea. We were looking forward to enjoying a Stonefire meal. Sadly, things didn't go as planned. After ordering through the curbside service, we enjoyed our tri tip, chicken, and salad at home. However shortly after our meal my son became really ill. For the next 48 hours my son experienced vomiting and body aches. We later determined that he was the only one to have the chicken for dinner instead of the trip tip. With everything going on right now, we had already rushed into panic mode to protect our 3 other children and ourselves, concerned he may have contracted the virus. Thankfully he is fine now, and we don't know if the chicken was undercooked or somehow contaminated, but it was a scary couple of days. We appreciate the efforts various restaurants are offering at this time, but don't overlook the responsibility of properly cooking your food. I am sure it was an oversight, but it was very scary for my family at this time, and we will likely not be ordering out from other businesses that we would have otherwise liked to support all because of this experience. Had take out from here twice, but have never been in the store itself - both times were pretty satisfying Portions for the "Stimulus Package" family meal are huge and very reasonably priced Pizza, I agree with other reviewers, is not something to write home about - though it wasn't bad, either. I prefer the lemon garlic chicken over the mesquite bbq and would recommend the tri-tip roast, which is not dry and goes well with the salad. I add a little Lea & Perrin's Worcestershire sauce and it's great. I prefer the garden salad over the caesar, which includes a horseradish dressing that tastes like a horse's ass. Other than that, I highly recommend this place for a cheap, quick family meal - call ahead and avoid the wait! read more
