Finally tried this place today & was pleasantly surprised. I found it strange intially that a sit-down restaurant made its customers order and pay first before getting a table---especially since I still had to wait quite awhile for my meal. They give you a table number (looks kinda like the devices you get at fast food places that buzz when your order is ready), and seat yourself at any empty table. I imagine waiters will seat customers when they're busy. Anyways, I ordered the petite tri tip with mesquite bbq and mashed potatoes and 2 breadsticks. For a $7.99 meal, that was a bargain. The tri tip was 6oz and cooked to your liking. (I got well done and the meat was still tender and juicy. Score!) The mashed potatoes was served in a decent sized bowl (good for 2 people to share) but was sadly dry. Had good texture and somewhat okay flavor but definitely needed some moisture. The breadsticks were warm, soft, and delicious. I also like the fact that you can serve your own drinks from the soda fountain dispenser, grab extra plates and silverware, and grab some great bbq for dipping! Overall, they have a variety of items to choose from, whether you're in the mood for salad, sandwiches, pizza, pasta, or full meals off the grill, there is something for everyone. I especially like the option to choose petite, small, medium, or large meal sizes so you can order as much as you like. Great feature! I am a salad junkie and no place satisfies me like Stonefire. Seriously, my GF and I crave this place all the time, but there aren't any locations really convenient for us. Yet once a week, we make the trek. For shear variety this place is incredible, yet I always find myself getting the same thing: chopped italian salad. A large is enough to make a full meal for 3-4 people, especially if you indulge on a side of the totally unhealthy and delicious breadsticks!! I recommend getting the Italian salad with BOTH the chicken and salami and ask them to put fresh chopped basil in the salad. I also get a side of the balsamic vinaigrette in addition to the dressing that comes with it. Other things I have had and love: tri-tip, cowboy beans. They have a convenient takeout that's separate from the main entrance. Lately though I have dined-in there. The service is really attentive and friendly as well even when they are slammed between 6:00pm and 8:00 on weekend nights. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

The food is fine, if/when it actually gets to the table. Our order is pretty much the same every time: Wine/beer Chips and guacamole as an appetizer Entree salad for us Kids pizza for the little ones And every visit, we encounter the same frustrations: we get one or two things delivered and we have to go hunt down someone to get the rest of it. Why can't we get the drinks when we order? Why does a glass of Cabernet show up when we're done and need to leave? Why do the kids have to stare at us and our food for 10 minutes and wonder "when do we get to eat?" Why can't the sides come out with the entree? Why do appetizers show up as dessert? Why can't anyone take ownership of an order? Back of the House can make a decent order, but Front of the House really needs some training on how to serve those orders. And yes, I've brought this up to management and I've been reassured that this is not how things are supposed to go. Unfortunately I have yet to see a change. read more

So we have been patronizing the Stone Fire Grill locations in Chatsworth CA & West Hills CA for several years and have encountered our share of problems with service, but have none the less been satisfied with the overall quality of the food to return with regularity. But ever since the start of the Pandemic, the service has still been terrible and the quality of the food has been extremely horrendous. To starts most of the entrees that we normal order are no longer offered (Cartwheel Salad, Spinach Salad, Tomesto...). We have ordered food 4 times from either locations in the last 6 months, and all for times the food has been overcooked and barely above rood temperature. It is sad that the severly over cooked tri-tip (med-well $ well done vs med-rare) is so cold that the fat is starting to congeal and the pizza cheese is so cold that it cracks while the bread sticks are so hot that the plastic container is steamed and soft (all 4 times!). Now we have ordered these items several times in the past, prior to the pandemic and have never had this poor quality of food served to us. We even have had to wait an extra 30 min just to get our food in the past, but it still was served/given piping hot. Yesterday (and the previous time) I even arrived 15 min early to pick up my order and it still was lukewarm. On top of that we ordered (online) the cob salad with the avocados on the side and a basil & black olive pizza, but the avocados were completely left out and received only a black olive pizza (no basil). I would have understood if they had informed me that they had run out of basil or something, but nothing was said and these items were simply just omitted. So just a rehash, limited menu, continued poor service, extremely poor quality food, and omitted ingredients with out warning from both of the local locations. I was having a party and decided to cater from Stonefire. I placed the order by phone and was helped a very professional and sweet girl. I don't live near the restaurant so the delivery charge was going to be high. The girl I spoke with convinced me that I could have someone else (a guest) pick up and if I sent them a credit card authorization form, I wouldn't have to worry about having someone else pay. So I did that! I faxed their form and confirmed that it went through. Well the day of my event, I get a call from my guest who was gracious enough to pick up my order. My order was not ready in time and to make things worse, they said they had no form of payment. My guest has to pay for my order. Completely embarrassing and unacceptable! Stonefire Grill has great food! We frequent this restaurant as it's inexpensive and yummy. My only complaint is that if you have a group of people, and some order sandwiches, while others order salads, don't expect to eat at the same time. Like I said, my family and I eat here often, and the food coming out at different times is always the case. We've complained several times to different managers, and they each say the same thing; " That's how the kitchen works." WHAT?!?! The story is the same at the Fallbrook location. Oh well. This place is popular! They're takeout lines are long too. It can take a little time to order at times. But the food comes out fast and always good. The breadsticks are always the first to go. We usually order the tri-tip salad -- a small is good enough for 3-4 people. Tri-tip is great and their garlic mashed potatoes are the best. My daughter loves the pesto pasta and I must admit, it's pretty addicting :-) We tried their house special pizza, pesto avocado -- the first time I've ever had avocado on pizza -- it was really good. The last time we were there, we were in line for about 15 minutes -- the couple behind us were blind, the staff guided them and accommodated them very nicely - I could tell, their experience was great too. We caught them on the way out and they were enjoying dessert and very happy. We ordered for a party one time ... we got the salad, tri-tip and garlic mashed potatoes with garlic sticks. Perfect. I came in and ordered my dinner with a sweet worker who's name i believe is brittany, she was super sweet and a great help with awesome customer service helping me and my family. My food runner was named brenda, and she was a delight. Great personality the way she asked how we were doing with a smile on her face showed us how much she liked working there. I could tell they both showed sympathy helping us out, i majored in psychology and minored in philosophy, i know body language when i see it, and they both show enthusiasm. Ordering online with curbside pickup is a dream at times like this. We ordered the family meal for 4, even though it it just 2 of us. We got the full rack of ribs and tri tip combo with cesar salad. I also ordered a medium garlic mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese, which has now become one of my faves! The cesar dressing was heavy on the garlic, but added a great punch of flavor. Worst customer service at this location I drive out of my way to the location at Fallbrook. Fallbrook is fantastic. My order is often wrong and over looked on Winnetka. Online orders are simply abused. They check your name only when you first approach and quickly forget you. The estimated time has never been correct. They told me in the past my order would be ready in an hour and I had to wait well over an hour at the location. This review is long over due... I always see management clowning around with the staff. Corporate should clean up the location. Managment was unprofessional when I made a complaint in person. Only hesitated because was close to my work, today will be my final visit. read more

For me, it's an off-hours-only place due to the extraordinarily high noise level during peak hours. I rarely go to Chatsworth, so I've only been in this Stonefire a few times. Like their other locations, the salads are awesome, the help very personable, the prices reasonable, the choices numerous and it's business model is fast-casual dining. My Chatsworth friends order a variety of dishes and are always pleased (bbq, tri tip, pizza and garlic bread). I stick with some form of petite salad and a glass of chilled chardonnay every time- I love their chopped chicken salads. As mentioned, the downside is the noise level. Absolutely no acoustical breaks or absorbers of any kind. Horrible architecture and interior design= NOISE !!! Sometimes we skip Stonefire because we want to have a discussion without having to compete with the mind-numbing noise. If it was quieter, we would always choose Stonefire and rate it a 5. read more

So I have eaten here at this locate several times and the best thing about that is the servers get to know you and treat you well. The food has been consistently good. When I ordered the tri tip it's cooked right and has good flavor and my peanut slaw is always fresh and crunchy just the way I like it. I was a little disappointed by the fresh baked cookies though. I split a chocolate chip with a friend and it was more like a snicker doodle which isn't so bad but this tasted a little dry. I might have to try an oatmeal raisin just to see if it was just an isolated incident. Overall not bad for a chain restaurant. It's great for lunch with a friend. read more
