I came here with 4 (3 girls, 1 guy) of my friends and we decided to eat family-style. We got 1/2 slab ribs, small potatoes, small marinara pasta and breadsticks. I forgot how much we ended up paying but i think it was maybe around 25- 30 which is really cheap since the food was good. AND we were full off of it. :D I think my guy friend wasn't that full, but didn't want to seem like a pig in front of us by eating it all. Yum, Yum and more Yum! Their salads are all great and very reasonably priced. Their breadsticks are deeelish and their pizza is very yummy. Their pastas are also very good. I have eaten over 10 dishes on their menu and have yet to be disappointed. Come at lunch during the week and you can take advantage of their combo deal for a great price. The service is generally good but on multiple occasions, I've requested something of their server staff and they have forgotten. Sooner or later I flag someone else down but that's just annoying. Unfortunately, I didn't discover this place until my third year at UCI. One of my friends, who I only see on rare occasions, suggested we go to this place for lunch. I'm disappointed in myself for not coming here sooner. He recommended the BBQ Chopped Salad with Tri Tip. I ordered the lunch special BBQ Chopped Salad with Tri Tip, which also comes with a breadstick, and was blown away by both. The salad was loaded with many tasty ingredients, from cilantro to tortilla flakes to corn. To top it all off, the Tri Tip was tender and juicy. In addition, the breadstick was very chewy and filled with flavor. It was a perfect side to the salad. I have yet to try anything else here, but all their other dishes look very appetizing as well. I heard very good reviews about this place and I think it got my expectations a little too high. My boyfriend and I ordered the Steak and Cheese sandwich and the Chicken and Tri-tip Combo meal to share. I've got to say I was super disappointed by my sandwich. It just wasn't all that flavorful and I really didn't think they could mess it up. The chicken and tri-tip combo was by far the better choice. It wasn't super amazing but quite tasty. We tried both the bbq sauce and the garlic butter sauce, both tasted quite good. The garlic butter was good until the oil started solidifying and then it was a little weird. I also had a couple bites of their mashed potatoes. And i would have to say I would go back to Stonefire Grill just for that dish. I have no idea how much butter they put in there but it was amazing. Go for the simulus package! Definitely worth it for a group of 3-5. Can't go wrong with either the lemon garlic chicken *although it make get a little too oily) or the tri-tip. Their bbq chicken pizza is pretty tasty, but can get a little soggy. A good combo is chicken and mushrooms. I love their breadsticks and salad. Oh, and take advantage of their bbq sauce, so good! I love this place!!!!! It's so cheap for what you get and it's sooo good and fresh! There is a stimulus package right now, for $22 you get a medium 2 topping pizza, 1 lb of tri tip, 8 bread sticks and a salad. There is also a half chicken special with a side for $6.95. So let me rave about there cartwheel salad! It has mixed greens, tomato, garbanzo Beans, sliced beets, radish, tortilla chips, black olives and to top it off, they use a cilantro vinaigrette . It's an explosion of flavors and textures in your mouth! The tri tip comes BBQ or pepper garlic which comes with this pepper garlic blue cheese topping which is really good! This place looks like it is an actual sit down restaurant from the outside, but once you get inside you realize its a chain "fast casual." We ordered two salads and a pizza. The salads were big, but over dressed. The pizza was bland. The one caveat to this restaurant is that its a chain fast casual that is priced like a sit down restaurant. Our meal came out to $36. I don't think this is an absurd price for dinner, but this place has cheap tasting bland food. They should price it accordingly. The final insult to this restaurant is that they have the nerve to include a tip line on the receipt. If I didn't have to get my own drink, table, flatware, and napkins I'd love to tip. I like Stonefire Grill a lot. The main reason is you get decent volume, strong taste and a pretty reasonable price. It's odd, I don't normally like a lot of cheap grill/bbq places but I keep coming back here. My best experiences are always when I've ordered family style so that I can have more options! The meat is consistently juicy/tender with simple but quality flavors. The garlic bread is soft and a tasty compliment to the rest of the food you order. The desserts are huge and rich... the perfect way to end a gluttonous meal. Here are my favorites: * Mac and Cheese - I'm easy to please as far as this stuff goes but I like it here a lot. I always order it, even if I have to get a kids' size. * Tri-tip Salad - Mix in some BBQ sauce and this is a delicious salad that doesn't eat like a salad * Chicken - Whatever the non-BBQ flavor is. It's juicy and has great spice to it. I think it's Lemon Garlic. * Tri-tip - Tender with a nice cheese gorgonzola butter. I really love that stuff. * Deep dish sausage pizza. Dough is soft. Lots of cheese. The sausage is just the right amount of spicy. If you eat family style, this place ends up being a very good deal. I've passed this place so many times that one day I went inside to check out their menu. The restaurant seemed clean enough in the front and there was no gunk stuck to the chairs or tables (which I really appreciate!). I got the grilled chicken pesto to-go! I think I made an AWESOME decision because this is the only sandwich on earth that got me to eat my onions! Grilled chicken, caramelized onions, pesto, mozzarella, and arugula on a french roll! So good that when I was done I became a little sad. The roll was soft and didn't make me feel like a Cheetah tearing apart its prey and the chicken was soft and complimented everything really nice together. Set up in the same way as a Classic Pizza Parlor, this restaurant is able to exceed expectations. Upon entering, you order at a cashier, collect your drink cups, and get a number to display at your table. Drinks, silverware, plateware, bbq sauce, and seating are all self service. They match your food order to your number, and voila! Grub time. Highly recommended is the Pesto Penne Pasta. A large size can easily serve six or more. Also get the hot breadsticks as they are delightfully seasoned without being too oily. We also ordered tritip (tender, well trimmed), roasted chicken (soft, falling off the bone), the Cartwheel salad, the Quinoa side (overly salty, but pleasant), and the Mashed potatoes. Cartwheel salad: I love the cilantro dressing on this salad, and it's a great pick for when you're in the mood for something a little light. Beware, a petite salad is enough for my entire meal + some leftovers. It's a huge portion, and only around $5! Breadsticks: Holy moly! How many times have I told myself I couldn't possibly fit another breadstick in my stomach as I'm munching away on one more. They're delightfully crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, and the cheesy topping is the icing on the cake! Tomesto pasta: Who ever thought tomato and pesto were such a match made in heaven? I had heard good things about Stonefire Grill. We decided to check it out because we are looking for a possible rehearsal dinner location. We enjoyed the food. The meat was slightly cold which was a little disappointing. We really enjoyed the bread sticks. One thing we learned is this place is crazy busy, almost overwhelming. You wait in line, order at the register, then sit and the food is brought to you. Overall our experience was okay but we won't be using it for our rehearsal dinner just because of how busy it is. We probably won't go back (not because its bad, but because we weren't terribly impressed), but I would not discourage anyone from going, especially if its a family outing. read more

Came here with a pretty large group so we grouped ourselves in 4s and got the stimulus package, which is a pretty good deal! You get a small pizza, salad, breadsticks and choice of meat, which I obviously did not indulge in although the others did love it! We ordered the tomato basil pizza because you're only allowed two toppings with this deal and the cartwheel salad which had beets garbanzo beans tortilla crisps olives red onion and a light dressing. The pizza was pretty good although I would have liked extra toppings. Breadsticks were my favorite! They were slightly crispy on the outside but soft inside, and brushed with Parmesan on top with some herbs. Also for dessert as a group we shared the carrot cake. It was one of the best I've had! The salad and breadsticks that come with the meal (a la carte i believe) are also delish! Not a big fan of their lemon garlic rub since I really don't taste the flavor for either...but the bbq is on point! Dipping it with extra bbq sauce on the side...you will be in bbq heaven. The chicken is a little dry in my opinion...but heard great things about the bbq chicken pizza so definitely will give that a try sometime soon. I absolutely love Stonefire Grill. I have ordered takeout and catering from this location, and all I can say is: the service even outdoes the delicious food. I am not usually one to be impressed by good service, but as frequent take-outer, I am usually not expecting much in the way of service. Both times I had phenomenal service, and the staff was super friendly. The food here is on par with other Stonefire Grill locations...which means it's delicious!!! My favorite itemis the BBQ Chopped Salad with chicken - it's probably one of the best entree salads I've ever had. The tri tip is also really juicy and delicious. I LOVE their breadsticks (and if you signup for their newsletter, you'll get an email for a free 1/2 basket!) Overall, the food is 5 stars, but even if it wasn't, the service definitely is. read more

Today, there was 4 very small pieces of tri-tip - didn't even need to cut the pieces - they were that small! We had our first and last experience here tonight. SO many mishaps and the food was terrible. Because of their COVID precautions they filled drinks for us- no problem. Except they gave us the wrong drinks twice. And that was after I ordered an apple juice from my daughter to find they were out. I believe in giving grace as life is hard right now. But it just got worse. After the no apple juice and served the wrong soft drinks twice situation, I searched to find there were no open tables. I was holding two drinks, two plates, and two sets of silverware to be approached by a server who had my meal ready. When I told them there were no tables he said he would help clean a table for us, which I appreciated. But then he handed my food to another server to have them walk it around the restaurant a few more times until he had the table clean (gross- and it was cold by the time it made the third attempt to be presented to us.) Then we had to wait 10 more minutes for my daughters kids meal to come out (and it was cold too so I'm not sure what the hold up was.) We barely ate any of our food and left- worst grilled chicken I have ever been served. Extremely poor quality on the sides too. Because of all the challenges, they did refund my daughters kids meal to me ($6 of my $25 bill for one adult and one child to eat which was thoughtful) but lesson learned. My aunt and I came here the other night and both ordered salads which were delicious along with the pesto and I remembered they had roasted cauliflower. My wife mentioned the Stonefire Grill as having good-sized portions and good prices. I said, "LETS GO!" I ordered the chicken breast with BBQ sauce and a garden salad. My wife ordered the chicken breast with a lemon garlic sauce and mashed potatoes. Both orders also came with 2 breadsticks each. We both liked out chicken dishes and my wife like the mashed potatoes. I thought the ranch dressing on my salad lacked flavor. They need to get a different brand of dressing. Warning for you tomato haters...they put tons of tomatoes in their garden salad. You might want to ask them to leave them out. The breadsticks are very good. I'm not quite sure which are better: theirs or Pat & Oscars. I better try them again! We had to try "LA's best carrot cake". We ordered the full piece (as opposed to half) and it was a big portion! It was very good. I recommend it. My friend and I came here for dinner before catching a movie at nearby Woodbridge 5. We ordered the chicken with BBQ sauce and the salmon with lemon garlic. I honestly was not that impressed considering that I keep hearing people rave about this place. The chicken tasted like something out of the dining commons at UCI (not that that's a bad thing or anything...but yeah). It was alright....the salmon on the other hand OMG. I really do think that they marinated it with a gallon of lemon juice because that stuff was SOUR. Way beyond sour actually =X. Breadsticks - very very very dry and the flavor is nasty :/ thought the cheese might've made it better but it made it even drier. We both had one and left it alone. All I have to say is that you must get the stimulus package if you want your money's worth. For about $20, you get a small pizza, tri-tip, salad, and breadsticks. All of this is enough to serve about 4 people. Definitely worth your money! Not only it's cheaper then Lucille's it's better too in my opinion, the family meal was only $36.99 which includes Bread stick, salad, 1/2 tri-tip and full rack of ribs. I like the fact that we get our own drink, plates, silverware, etc.. since I don't like to wait for the waiters to fill my drink except for alcohol. I have to give this place a 5 star now....I was just here last night and now I'm addicted to their caesar salad! The dressing is amazing! I didn't get the Caesar the first time I was here. PLUS, after my previous review, the manager of Stonefire replied to my post and explained the chicken cooking process. They slow cooked the meats first so the cooking process makes the chicken bone pink/almost bloody. BUT he assured me that they check to make sure all meats are cooked properly and done at the right temperature several times through the cooking process. Went here with my brother and his wife and we mistakenly ordered way too much food! We ordered the 1/2 chicken and full rack of ribs family plate which came with a medium salad and 12 breadsticks and we also ordered a petite macaroni and cheese. The breaksticks are great. I could nom on those all day long. The chicken was so tender and juicy and the bbq sauce was fabulous. The rib meat fell right off the bone and I kept pulling bones off the rack and getting no meat. They were tastey and tender. I don't eat salad, but it looked like it was only lettuce and crutons with a light sprinkle of caesar dressing. Now let me explain the petite mac and cheese. First off, when you say petite and say it serves 1 person, I'm hoping you mean 1 starving person and that's all they're going to eat. That had to be the largest mac n cheese I've ever seen! I don't even want to know what the medium looks like! Jesus! With that said, it was very tastey and I'm a fan. However, if I ever order that again that's all I'm eating. Stonfire Grill is great! It is a perfect restaurant for groups that are eating together but not necessarily paying together or ordering to go food. I like it best for lunch with coworkers or a quick dinner to take home and share. One of my favorite items is the BBQ Chopped salad. It is delish and the small salad is at least two full meals. They have great fresh cooked food with a lot of choices at a good price. Today I finally convinced my office to try a new order in place for lunch. I had a menu on hand and found another online for all of my office mates to figure out what they wanted. I wasn't sure if everyone was going to like it, but there is a huge selection and great prices. I've come here so often and never have been disappointed once! It's just really good, wholesome, all-American food! The staff are also very friendly and fast. My favorite pizza is the Stonefire's Favorite but I think all the pizzas are really well made. The same for the salads! The salads are really fresh and there are so many! I've had a good amount from their menu and can't wait to try more. My favorites are the Cartwheel and Asian Chicken salads. I've also had the tri-tip and it's always very delectable! One of my favorite things is their Carrot Cake!! I like how you can see the carrots, but the frosting is a little too sweet but not overpowering. I always look forward coming here! read more
