This was our first visit and we had a party of 2 and we were already next in line, but they decided to change the procedure and put people's names down on a list. We were skipped over and I told the person who had the list but when they started calling out the names a party of 5 and a party of 7 were called before us. Their menu didn't look like they had anything special, so it wasn't worth complaining. We just left. They've only opened recently but they should get their act together. I'm not inclined to go back. Came here with my boys. I found the wait time awesome, just a bit confused since it was our first time there was no one to explain how things were. Once seated we found out we needed to get our own utensils, water and such, no problem. My son order tri-tip which he ordered med-rare, it came out fast yet it was cold, surprising since it didnt take long after the order was placed. The mashed potatoes were way to dry, but the coleslaw was good. My other son ordered plain roasted vegetables, now that was slight burnt not very tasty. We ordered a side order of the breadsticks, which in the menu it said (6), we received only 4 breadsticks. When we informed the waitress that we received only 4, she stated that more bread was being made. After several attempts of letting two other employees who came to our table to ask how everything was that we were shorten two breadsticks, both of them stated that they would see what happened, no one arrived. Why ask how is everything if you are not going to follow-up. Sure to charge but not deliver, is not how you want to start a new place. Not a good experience being our first time here. read more

So my boyfriend and I got to the restaurant at 9 pm 30 minutes before they closed. We ordered two small Cobb salads and decided to get it to go since they were closing soon and we didn't want to be a bother. He even tipped them $5 because we felt bad about coming in so late to closing... I guess we should've just saved our money because they should've paid us for the terrible experience we had. We were told that it would take about 15 minutes for our food to come out so we went to get some water. 30 minutes later and our food still hadn't come out- no big deal maybe they were just super busy and was running behind. NOT THE CASE. I had to go up to the desk to ask about the food at the 45 minute mark because nobody even bothered to check on us despite the fact that we had been sitting right there in front of them waiting for a good 30 minutes and the guy looked at me as if I was crazy because he literally had no idea what I was talking about. He had to ask his coworker where our food was who also had no idea what we were talking about. Eventually they realized that our order number was still sitting on the table waiting to be cooked... they had completely forgotten about us. I immediately asked for a refund of my meal and at least the manager was nice enough to give us a refund and a $20 gift card which is the only reason they're getting two stars instead of one. May still go back to another location as the food is decent but the poor customer service, incompetence, and lack of organization at this location leaves a lot to be desired. read more

My wife, grandson and myself had dinner at the new Rancho Cucamonga location on a Friday night and we all took home half of our meals to enjoy the next day as they give you large portions. Both the food and service were great. I would recommend that you try their great BBQ tri tip-ribs combo. read more

This is my FAVORITE place to eat! My husband said their chicken and steak is the best he has ever had. I am a vegetarian, and they have a huge variety of stuff to choose from. I am SO happy this new location opened. I recently moved here and would always go to the location near my old place for birthdays, graduations, just because, etc. The food is so amazing, specifically the BBQ chopped salad, pesto pasta, tomato and basil pizza, the breadsticks dipped into the BBQ sauce... okay maybe everything is really good. The only item I'm not too impressed by is their chicken. It always seems slightly undercooked for some reason. The inside is quite pink. It's ok. They had a poorly set up plan to handle the crowd. It was put your name in to wait to be called to order at the counter then go to your seat. The price was high in my opinion for feeding 2 adults and 2 kids. I could have had a better salad for less at souplantation. My husband and son liked the salmon but agreed everything else was pretty mediocre. My youngest gave the chicken tenders a big thumbs down. The iced tea was barely tinted water. They got my salad dressing wrong twice both times I had to wait a really long time for the replacement to appear. I ended up eating half of a bare salad. For the price we paid we could have gone somewhere like Claim jumper where we sat down they took our order and we weren't getting up to stand in line for drinks while they refilled the ice machine. Had one employee come and ask us if we needed another drink but did not ask how our meal tasted or if everything came out alright. After waiting an extended period of time we finally had to stop someone and ask for a to go box, which got us a dirty look and an insincere "here you go" (again our first time going there and not knowing it was a self servie type of place, not to mention the 2 other tables around us had their to go box brought to them). So yeah, quite underwhelmed! Have heard so much bluster on an am radio station that I thought ok going to SFG. Ordered the steak and cheese sandwich, my wife ordered the 1/2 shrimp with quinoa and a caesar side salad, the kids had the mac and cheese. So here goes, steak and cheese was in my opinion cooked extremely well but that's where it ends. The meat was just ok not great or even good and the portion of steak was rather small. The kaiser roll it comes on is nothing more than what can be purchased at the local grocery store. The shrimp was cooked to perfection. the quinoa and the shrimp were soaked in lemon juice which was the only flavor profile available and there must have been an entire bulb of roasted garlic on top. The salad tasted more like Cole slaw than caesar salad. Which i am not sure ho that happens. On a positive note the mac and cheese was by far the best thing on the table. Awsome flavor, perfect amount of cheese, pasta cooked great would definitely return for the mac and cheese. Would not order the shrimp or steak sandwich again. read more

We tried this place for the first time this evening after church. My wife ordered tri-tip with garlic mashed potatoes. I enjoyed a full rack of ribs with nutty coleslaw. The young lady who checked on us strongly suggested the carrot cake. So we tried the carrot cake and it was marvelous. We split one half serving of carrot cake and it was plenty for the two of us. I eat at this location a few times a week since it opened. The food is usually good and at a fair price. A couple times I had Black Hair in my salad and the Ladies that work their stated it was Husk Hair but I had no corn in may salad and it was Black Hair. I did not request a refund and they did not offer one. This location definitely has a Management Problem that flows down to it's employees. I was there today at 01:56pm. They have a lunch special menu that is from 11:30am until 02:00pm. The line was out the door and they only had one person taking orders. By the time I got up to the register it was 02:07pm. They just gave two ladies the lunch special pricing in front of me. I requested it and the cashier said it was after 2pm but the sign was still out and she just put it away but she would ask her manager. They Hispanic Male Manager stated he would not give it to me and he lied and stated he was there the whole time which was a blatant lie. It was just the poor lone Cashier trying to handle the late lunch crowd. I will take my Business and money elsewhere until they Fire this ungrateful and rude Manager. A real gem found here, chicken cooked perfectly, never have I eaten somewhere where you can literally cut the chicken with a fork!! And the trip tip, freaking outstanding. Blows every steak place out of the water, a must go to, reasonably priced either for lunch or dinner. Terrible grill. Ordered a BBQ chicken sandwich and with every bite of my sandwich, came tons of fat. Could not even finish what i was eating. Filled with old people, and their food is unbearable. Can't imagine what the steak and other meats taste like if they could not even manage to get the chicken correct. They make you pay for your food before you get it, not leaving room for change if you don't enjoy your meal. Costumer service is terrible to add onto that. The refill station for your drinks is a mile from most seats. I don't understand why they even opened this place in Rancho. It doesn't even compare to other restaurants around it. Not too crazy about ordering your food first but overall the food itself was pretty good. Breadsticks were delicious. Pizza was very good. I had the pesto chicken sandwich on ciabatta and it was very flavorful. Also tried the tomesto pasta, liked the pesto sauce but not the tomato so much. Next time I'll try the tri tip and lemon chicken. Wish they would add some burgers to the menu but overall, good choices. read more

We have been to this restaurant in Rancho Cucamonga a number of times, and we went again today. I think this may be the last time. The meat dishes, while they might taste pretty good, have never been hot when they reach the table. We have had to send back dishes on at least two or three visits, and yes, they always redid the meal. We tried the pasta dish once, which was really dry. Luis used to be the manager, and he seemed to be concerned. Now there is a new guy, and he appears to the naked eye to not really care. We were in again last week, and the meat once again was really cold and really chewy. We sent it back with the waiter who was very concerned. The new manager came to our table after the waiter had already taken our food away, and treated us as if we were just causing problems. Then today we came back in and ordered a pizza, the lunch special that came with a 9" pizza. The pizza was inky dinky! measuring out at 7 1/2 inches. The manager did offer to redo, but we had already waited for 25 minutes for our take-out, so we just took it home and added our own toppings. The salad that came with it - the cartwheel - was lacking a few ingredients. The reason we continue to go to this location is because we had a $75 gift card, and even though we have not used it up, I think we won't be back. Sorry. read more

From the start the idea is a really good idea! You walk in and order in the front then seat your self . It makes the experience pretty nice in my opinion because you don't have to wait on slow service ! The food was brought quick with really good presentation. The pasta was huge for a small and tasted great. Me and my girlfriend also ordered our own tri tips . I got medium well and she got well done. When the tri tips arrived they made mine pretty much a tar tar. On the outside it looked like no sear on the outside . While hers had a good amount of pink in it. We also where waiting on our breadsticks that never showed up but had to get up mid dinner to walk towards the kitchen to ask for our breadsticks. Now I know I could have simply told someone my trip was barely cooked but I just ate through it for simply not to burden anyone. Now the night was even worse through the night I woke up with stomach cramps and sickness that night . It's all I really ate all day but still I don't want to write a review saying it got me sick because who knows maybe it was something else (I'll survive not the end of the world). These things would probably be the only thing stopping me from a 5 star review . Now at the end of all this I really don't want to bash on this place because it deserves a try for sure . Shoot I even plan on coming back to try some amazing pizza and Mac and cheese I saw. So give it a try but keep an eye on your tri tip and receiving of food. read more

My family and I came here for the first time on a Saturday evening at 5:30 pm. The nice employee was holding the door open and we appreciate that, however it was 95 degrees. We walked into total craziness. People were standing around unsure where to go or what to do. The way this location works is absolutely INSANE !! you can't be seated until they have a table ready. So therefore you can't order until then, which leaves all these people standing there blocking the entrance. There isn't enough room for people to stand there comfortably or sit down and the door was open and we were all sweating. So FINALLY we get to order while other people are ordering gabbing each other in the backs cause we have no where else stand. The girl takes our order and then after we are done she says .. Omg your order got canceled, can you please repeat that again? Hell no I can't. She was swiping her card and that's how it got cancelled! We were about to spend over 200 bucks to eat there. If your interested in a stress attack go here ! Good luck trying to make this location work. So today was my first time here at stonefire and I can honestly say that I had a great experience overall with the food, and service. I came in with my family of 6 and ordered one of the family meals that fed 6 people. It was PLENTY of food for such a good price. The salad was so fresh and the tri tip was super tender and juicy!! And let me tell you about the breadsticks, they are absolutely to die for. As soon as I entered the restaurant I felt so welcome. I was guided through the menu and the way the restaurant process worked. I loved all of the waitresses because they seemed like they genuinely loved their job. I was just a little confused because different girls were bringing out my food but then I was told that no one is particularly assigned to a table. They were all really nice and always smiling but a young lady was constantly checking back on me and making sure I was taken care of.(Jessica) She actually suggested for me to try the carrot cake after our meal and I can honestly say that it was the BEST carrot cake that I have ever tried! I'm not entirely sure what all the hype is about with this place, but I certainly did not experience anything here that was 4 out of 5 stars worthy. Came here for dinner on 12/13/17. First, the young lady at the register didn't seem all that friendly. Possibly a little training in better customer service and a friendly smile would help. I read a lot of comments regarding the set-up of paying first, etc. This actually didn't bother me. However, I've had better customer service at Sizzler. Second, the food we ordered (tri-tip) was lukewarm and wasn't cooked the way we asked for it. What's the point of asking "how would you like that cooked?" if your employees aren't going to follow that request anyway?? We began to suspect that maybe it had been sitting out and was someone else's order because it came out so fast and the food for the other patrons sitting near us took some time to come out...and we ordered the same things they did. Third, we have to pay for extra breadsticks??? You bring me 2 skinny little sad breadsticks for myself and my dinner date and you expect for me to pay for extra?? You've got to be kidding. The pasta was literally just pasta and sauce. Nothing amazing about it at all. I could've made pasta at home and just thrown some jar sauce on it and called it a day. No one checked in on us. No one seemed to even care to. But I guess that's the kind of place this is. We didn't even tip because let's be honest, who are we tipping? The unfriendly cashier? The cooks who didn't even cook our meat right? Or the employees who kept walking by us like we weren't even there? Very disappointing. Subpar service, subpar food. read more

My family and I have eaten here more than a few times and the last couple of times have been a little less than desirable. Our last visit was one of those times. Receiving the actual meal took extremely long. The restaurant was not that busy at the time we were in eating. We inquired with an employee and she just said well it depends on how many meat plates we have in our order. The reason for the inquiry was another table had received their meal within 5 minutes of sitting down after us and they had two meat orders. Shortly after the inquiry our part of our meal arrived. We were told the rest of the meal was on the way out. Then waiting about another 5 minutes the rest of the meal arrived to our table. Upon the server delivering the meals to the appropriate people at the table, one of the plates fell off her tray on to the floor. The server said absolutely nothing to us. She just picked it up and went back to the kitchen. We were not upset with the server dropping the plate, accidents happen. The part we were upset with was that the server said nothing to us in return. No apologies of any kind. She could have said, I apologize for dropping the plate. I will go back to the kitchen right away and have them make another sandwich. If something was said like that to us, I think we would not have been as frustrated. Another five minutes went by and something else was delivered to the table and they asked if there was anything else and we said yes the sandwich that fell off the tray onto the floor would be great. They then went back to the kitchen and that was when it was discovered that the sandwich had been dropped. We just feel the whole situation was not handled in the best way. A portion of my meal was tri-tip and I asked for it to be cooked medium and it was cooked a lot more than medium. By the time our entire meal was delivered, nearly 30 minutes had passed since ordering at the register. For the amount that was paid for our group of 7 people, I really expected better service and a couple of the meals prepared as ordered. I don't give one-star reviews out lightly. In fact, I don't think I ever have before. I have got a small Greek salad. The rest of my party got a large grilled tri-tip salad. My salad was terrible. First, the vast majority of my small salad was lettuce, and this attempt at minimizing preparations costs did not go unnoticed. Second, it literally needed salt. And pepper. And Parmesan cheese, because it had an absolute minimum of feta cheese, also due no doubt to blatant profit-maximizing. Still, I gave the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps the Greek wasn't intended to be versatile enough to be an entree? Surely the grilled tri-tip was, though. My party offered to share their salad with me, even though when we visually compared the two salads we figured that the same overall volume of non-lettuce ingredients probably goes on top of the whole range of salad sizes, which is absolutely disgusting considering the sheer size of the large salad. I got a couple bits of meat, a slice of avocado and an artichoke heart, which, sadly, meant that another member of my party ended up getting zero artichoke hearts. I tried some of their lettuce as well, hoping it was tastier than mine. Despite being a completely, entirely different salad, it tasted exactly, EXACTLY the same. I can't remember a time I was more disappointed with going out, to a new restaurant, and left hungrier than when I arrived. At home, desperate for something that felt remotely like a meal, I had a slice of turkey with mustard, which were more satisfying than anything at the restaurant. Hence this is my pro tip: stay home and literally eat a cold cut. You will be happier. read more
