The chicken was dry, the barbecue sauce had a strong vinegar-forward flavor, and the brisket was just okay. The cauliflower appetizer, however, was excellent and the highlight of the meal. Service was inconsistent. While food and alcoholic beverages were brought to our table, we were directed to retrieve our own drinks from across the restaurant, self service, casual vibe. First time here. It was interesting place. Order and pay at the front and then find a table. There were a lot of uncleaned tables, so it was hard finding a table to sit at. And there were areas that had reserved signs, so seats on Valentine's Day were limited. I was a bit upset, but as soon as the food came out I was in a better mood. I was hangry... The atmosphere is pretty nice, it has a cozy feel and the dining area is always clean. This is one of the few places are family will actually eat at instead of taking food to-go. The pizza was really good & so was the kids max and cheese. I got the southwest salad and was not impressed at all. Also ordered the side of hummus which was so good however I was disappointed when I asked if we could get some more pita bread so we could finish the remainder of the hummus and the server said they don't do that and to pay for it. OMG they have the world's best creamed corn ever!!! It's a must order item on their menu! Their Mac and cheese were good too. Honestly, I think I've found my secret to avoiding the "what should we eat?" debate: just bring a tribe and load up! Now, I have to admit my pictures are terrible because I was so busy stuffing my face with everything that I forgot to take photos. Classic amateur move. But trust me, the food was good! The Caesar salad is my favorite and the pasta is not too heavy its light and perfect. My only minor gripe is the pizza this past visit was a tad bit oily and the tri tip came out well done instead of medium well. Both minor issues but still delicious we cant complain. We had such a delicious and fun dinner here last night. We ordered two mega family meals for a party of 35 that was the perfect size to feed everyone. We were kindly given the large back room area for a wedding reception dinner here. Our friends all had a blast. Quite a few of us had eaten here before and those who hadn't were very impressed. I've been coming to Stonefire for OVER 15 years! My love for this place started at the Newhall/Valencia Ca location. Unfortunately they recently changed the bbq sauce at ALL locations and now I just can't eat here. The BBQ sauce used to go great on salad, pizza, breadsticks, chicken, you name it and it went with it. Now it is a super strong vinegar tastes and no longer bbq. I am beyond devastated. I unfortunately can't return. The food is no longer amazing without that sauce. It is just like everywhere else. As hard as it is for me to say I don't recommend this establishment anymore :( read more
