I don't cook and was hosting a Birthday party for my wife with about 24 people and a mix of adults, teens, kids, etc. I thought about Stonefire and contacted the manager Jacob after looking at the menu and selecting some items for the meal. I gave him the desired items and headcount breakdown; and said to go over by about 5-10% so people could eat what they liked. That is it.. I picked up my food at the desired time, and when I brought it into the party I heard 3 of the people say things like, "Mmmmm Stonefire", "great Stonefire", etc. etc. The food was excellent, packed properly, warm on arrival, ZERO mistakes on the order, and a reasonable price. My daughter and granddaughter took me to Stonefire Grill for my birthday. We were met by this gracious host name Doug. He was funny, very knowledgable, and helped us with our selection. We asked about the different salads, and meats, and he knew quite a bit about all. We were very impressed! His suggestion about the tri-tip ,and our salad was just wonderful. The restaurant is large, great for large groups and the menu has options for everyone in the party. Stonefire Grill has done it again! Another great location now open and a perfect half way point for me when driving from LA to Santa Barbara. During my recent visit I enjoyed the BBQ salad and a BBQ tri-tip pizza. These are both my favorites and I'm convinced Stonefire has the best BBQ sauce in the world! You'd think I'd learn! The last 3 out of 4 pick up orders have been incomplete. The personnel / management could care less. It's too easy to give a refund. They used to review the contents of the pick up match what was ordered. It's very frustrating to serve an incomplete meal that was planned. Our 1st visit there today, nice atmosphere, a Lil different way of a restaurant. You stand in line at entrance your handed a menu in hopes you've decided what you want when you're up inline, seat your self, no utensils brought to you have to retrieve them your self, also self serve drinks, no waiter assigned you as you place your own order, they do all check to see if all is o.k. I ordered 1/2 rack of ribs and asked for sauce on the side. To me, this is how I can truly evaluate the ribs. I found the ribs to be overcooked and dry, wasn't impressed with sauce, pretty bland. A gratuity jar at the front if you choose. Overall, to me nothing exciting about this place, I guess I'm just a fan of Wood Ranch when it comes to ribs. read more

So...decided to check this place out, yesterday. Concept took a few seconds to understand but the staff were friendly and helpful. I ordered chic and ribs and friend ordered tri-tip and chicken breast. Mine! Not good at all. The chicken seemed fake and no seasoning with some super light sauce that seemed like bbq sauce. The ribs definitely were fake, all fat! Her meal looked like a kindergartener made it...the trip tip was mushy with no char on the outside covered in some uber garlic stuff. The chicken had to have been microwaved, no char mark and that strange sauce that could have been bbq stuff. The salads were ok coming from a bag. Bread sticks are mass produced from some place...little ceaser's wins that one. Well the beers were good and cold. The most annoying thing about the place is that it was super freaking cold! Went with my friend for lunch today and was totally impressed with everything. The place is clean, the staff are awesome, prices great and food was delicious. I got a chicken pesto sandwich and my friend got a buffalo chicken wrap. We both got the cauliflower salad for a side. That alone was so delicious I could have eaten a bowlful. I've given this place THREE chances, every time has been HORRIBLE. The service is unacceptable and slow. I placed an order online at around 2 pm to pick up at 5:30. I showed up at 5:20 and didn't get my order until 6 pm. They didn't give me the cups for our order and the food in the containers was mixed up and mushed together (chicken and tri-tip). Not impressed. Just went there for the first and last time. I won't say it wasn't good food but it is definitely highly overpriced imo. Had the steak sandwich but the took top portion of the bread off. Just too much bread. The mashed potatoes are delicious but we did expect a bit bigger portion for the price. Sandwich should've had more steak and less bread for that matter. And you better know what you want ahead of time especially if there's a wait. You order first at the front counter and then find a seat and wait. (Like Panera) Overall, my family agreed it was good, but again not worth the high prices. We paid $55 for two adults and two kids. The manager, Robbie, is the best manager we have encountered in any restaurant. He is attentive to all customers, responsive and connecting. His leadership in this regard spreads to other team members. Everyone who works at this location goes out of his or her way to make things right. The restaurant is clean, well kept and casual in a stepped up manner. We live in Port Hueneme and head over to Ventura to have dinner or lunch at Stonefire 1-2 times a week. Went here for a Friday night family dinner. The place was clean and inviting inside. There was a line to order food and the tables were full but they took our name and by the time we ordered, a table was ready for us. We had the Caesar salad, I love garlicy Caesar salads,Yumm! The breadsticks were amazing as was the pizza and the trip tip was to die for. They actually cooked it med rare(Wood Ranch only does Medium and up) and it was so tender, the blue cheese herb sauce was so so good. We added a side of garlic mashed potatoes which we also delicious. After finishing our meal we ordered a slice of cheesecake with blueberry sauce and a slice of carrot cake to go. The desserts were awesome. We will definitely be back. The price was right for the quality and taste, perfect family dinner spot. read more

Really miss Macaroni Grill. The bar area was warm, inviting and comfortable. The front area of this restaurant was very cold both figuratively and literally and extremely loud (hard to hear.) Its nice there are a couple Gluten free items, but still very limited health wise, since many items are likely GMO and the meat is likely to have things added to it. In an effort to be helpful the staff was a little too attentive. We got interrupted over and over by 4 different people, asking how everything was. Hard to keep a conversation going that way. It's ok. May go back for a glass of wine (which was very good,) but likely not more. read more

I've been to several Stonefire Grill locations( Pasadena, Chatsworth and west hills), and this Ventura location is by far the best. the Chatsworth location really disappoints me by their dry meat and bread, West Hills's crazy parking situation scares me: ( if I lived in Ventura, I would come here every week as before! In this location, Meat is always juicy and tender, salad is fresh and well-mixed, food in good portion, waitress/managers always check on you when they pass by. Good parking situation too. You can get an extra side for only 1.79 to go along with your delicious tri tip or chicken . They service was very fast and you pay up front so your not waiting for your server for everything. I was very happy with the pricing, speed, ambiance, and taste. I will go here again. I only had one issue and that was the server . She was young...very quirky , weird and most importantly akward ...it was a little funny that she was so off at that moment of serving us. First job I'm guessing or just HIGH lol read more

The casual atmosphere is nice and there are lots of choices on the menu. We started are dining experience at the drink bar, lots of choices if you like Pepsi products. I love a good iced tea, so I decided to give it a try here. Two choices of iced tea to drink but both were awful. The teas were cloudy and undrinkable (probably due to an error in making it because it tasted double brewed) Thank goodness for Dr Pepper. My tri-tip tasted a little old and heavily of vinegar. Today was my first time dining at Stonefire Grill Ventura. I have been to the other locations, but this one looks amazing. My overall experience was super great. The "name system" was explained to our party perfectly and they found us a table well before we reached the end of the line to order. The order process was smooth and my food came out quickly. But the one thing that made this dining experience above the norm was a server named Kelly. Kelly brought out some of our food, checked on our table numerous times, and cleared plates for us.
