This was my second and last time dining here. We had a reservation (on a Tuesday) for 7:15. We arrived at 7. We were not seated until 7:42. The hostess informed us that the kitchen had gotten backed up. The hostess also said they had accommodated a large group last minute. This was irritating, as I made our reservation weeks in advance. Upon being seated, we had about 8-10 minutes of sitting there before we were greeted. The server tried to leave after greeting us, saying he would bring water. I stopped him to order since it seemed they were behind and we already knew what we wanted. We ordered Lobster Bisque, Spinach dip, and the Medallion trio with potatoes au gratin to share with a side of parmesan fries. The lobster bisque wasn't finished cooking. The wine that was in it was overpowering, and it reeked of black pepper. We did not eat it. The spinach dip was decent. The medallions were cooked medium rare as requested, but they and the accompanying sauces (including some asparagus) was cold. The au gratin was cold and had fallen apart. Our fries were forgotten and when we requested them again from the server, they were cold. They were also extremely bland. It was such a lackluster experience (and the server made us slightly uncomfortable) so we skipped dessert and asked for the bill. The server brought the bill, and there was an alcoholic drink on it that we did not order. We asked him to take it off and he did. I honestly felt cheated that I paid $108+tip for such an awful meal and experience. We did take home the biscuits and leftover potatoes for the dogs. I will never return here, and I absolutely hate that I spent my one evening out this week with my friend going there. We should have went to Coastal Fish Company or Buckley's. Huey's honestly has better food and better service. read more

Devil eggs had a hint of sweet, very good. Dad and sis had the fried shrimp dinner. I tasted one. Great big shrimp perfectly cooked. The kids had the chicken strips which I tried and were tender noise and perfect. Nephew had the burger looked soo delicious. Lots of food. Good portions. The birthday cake also wonderful. Chocolate served with a small scoop of ice cream. I'd come again. Professional staff. The only thing was we had to remind them to light the candle. No big deal. Not really a fan. First of all the restaurant is so noisy that you can't carry on a conversation unless you're yelling to your dinner parties. Their lettuce in their salads are sliced way too fine which makes eating a salad far too difficult. The waiter I had seemed very bougie and I felt like he was looking down on me. This place is very expensive so I expected a different atmosphere and a different experience. If you are willing/able to spend a lot on dinner I suggest going to Ruth's Chris steakhouse. read more

My wife and I went last night for our anniversary dinner and everything there was fantastic. I had the meatloaf with fries and the green beans. Everything tasted amazing and I really liked the mushroom gravy sauce they put on the meatloaf. My wife had the burger with fries and she said it was great too. Their biscuits were also good. Both my wife and I drank water and the water left us a large container filled with water so I could get it myself, which is what I would prefer so I don't have to ask the server for more water constantly. It's not just a Steakhouse try the seafood! We had the Crunchy Ahi Tuna and the Steak Rolls both I would highly recommend. My friends had steaks (Kings cut prime rib & a filet) that were both cooked to perfection and served with a 1 pound baked potato served with all the trimmings. I don't like when the mayo/cream cheese/artichoke overwhelms the dip so this is the best spinach artichoke dip I've ever had with balanced flavors. I got the ribeye and au gratin potatoes and both were FABULOUS. I went for my birthday and they offered a complimentary chocolate cake with fresh (!!!) whipped cream and a sliced strawberry on top. I love this place! A dinner at Stoney River is akin to a great evening at Capitol Grill or a similar upscale restaurant. Although reservations aren't required, I'd recommend them. With a reservation, I walked in and straight to my table. Our server was fabulous. Because I have a restricted diet, I usually order salmon everywhere I go. He kindly recommended their special for the night, a broiled halibut. It was sooooo good. And the dessert options.....I only wish that I had room for dessert because they were beautiful! A bit of a rough start, on the wait list on a holiday weekend night we expected a long wait which was fine. We told them we'd go shop and they said they would text us when it was our turn but it would be a 2 hour wait. No worries. An hour later text - cool, we are in the other side if the mall but I text back on our way. Walk in exactly 12 minutes later and one of the hostesses tries to power trip and tell us you only have 10 minutes to respond. We did within 3 minutes and got there within 12! Fortunately the other hostess looked it up and saw we did, and they decided to seat us. Weird because as their were actually a lot of open tables and in areas that were being worked. The food was really good, ribeye cooked properly, sea bass was excellent as was salmon. Gouda mac n cheese was money. Again oddly, I also ordered broccoli for the table and I just git a regular portion in my steak plate. One last odd move - no bread, well for us. We saw others getting it so I asked, or server told us that she only brings it if you ask... Again weird. It was a mixed bag for us, good food but they really tried to ruin it more then once. The house salads were impressive and much better than any of the chain steakhouses we have visited. I had filet with crab cake, he had the strip with fried shrimp add on. A little customer service could go a long way at Stoney River. The lady manager today was not flexible or nice at all when our group went from 6 people (squished in a curved booth) to 7 people. She at first refused to let us pull up a chair for a 7th guest, then she changed her mind. Our friend stood there talking to us for about 20 minutes and then the waitstaff server said "OK, you can pull up a chair" (realizing he wasn't wanting to just leave and he indeed wanted to dine with us) I get it, it's harder for waitstaff and "not policy." We made the mistake of asking if we could sit at two tables in the corner (empty ones) "It's not our policy to push tables together" (Friends in our group said they did this last week) OK, yes, it's busy, but I worked in food service management for 12 years and while I truly understand ... you could crack a smile and act like you care just a teeny tiny bit. Empathy is key when you really cannot deal with customers who are asking you for something you consider impossible. She shrugged and walked away. Then about 5 minutes later, they seated 3 people at one of the two empty tables on the left corner. Uh oh. Two extra guests in our group showed up at this point. (These friends were NOT planned. It was a birthday lunch, and sometimes these things happen. Yikes! What do we do now? We have 9 people!) Me: "Can we sit in that empty room over there?" Manager: "No, that is not our policy to let small groups in there. You have to reserve it in advance for groups of 20 people" Me: "It's almost 12:30. Nobody has called to reserve it yet for lunch have they?" Manager "No, it's not our policy to let you sit in there" (she seemed expressionless and somewhat robotic) "We have one 10 top table setup here. You can wait for that group over there to be finished if you want." (that other group had been there for at least 45 minutes like us, but eating their meal now) (We had arrived around 11:45 and it was nearly 12:30) Me: "No, it doesn't look like they're leaving anytime soon. Well, I guess we'll just give up and split up. Can some of us just sit at one of these two empty booths I see?" Manager: "No, those booths are not setup" Me: "They look clean. We can carry our silverware over there so nobody has to set something up." One of us had a glass of water. (sitting for 40 minutes to figure table situation out) Wait, I see rolls of silverware at those booths. Hmmm, they look setup to me. (Maybe she just wants us to go away?) She leaves. I thought she was checking to assign us a booth. Nope. (No food orders had been taken yet, and no drink orders taken for those of us in our group who decided we can just split up.) Waitstaff could not tell us if we could sit at the booth two tables over without manager approval apparently. Nobody could give us an answer. Three people in our group just hung out standing next to our table, chatting. We waited anohter 10 minutes, wondering, manager gone. Vanished. No food orders taken. Then the poor server came and started to take food orders, but since we had standing room only for some of our party, we just decided to go to El Porton. As we walked out, we stopped at the front reception area by the bar. There was nobody in the waiting area trying to get a table. I saw an empty booth by the bar. There were mostly empty chairs there. I saw a couple of empty booths in the restaurant. I would *think* they could have offered seats in the bar. That would feed us and while it's not ideal, at least we would have eaten a meal. We'd been there a long time at this point and knew we'd get food faster someplace else. We had a good laugh when El Porton had two tables pushed together for us. I'm glad for the immediate success of Stoney River. I hear the food is great. Some people in our group said they had a similar lunch last week and a few extra showed up (pushing a table over seemed OK before). I think LOCALLY owned businesses have a true entrepreneurial heart, and they care more. They train their people to care about NOT turning people away. They make it work somehow. Why? They want business to grow. They want more people to tell others about the great food and STAY busy. If you do wish to visit this restaurant and enjoy a nice lunch, I'd only recommend trying it if you have 4 or fewer guests. There are a couple of booths that seat 5 (or 6 squished) but really, there's only ONE option for 7-10 guests. Unless you can guarantee 20 people of course, and then you're golden. read more

Where should I start...swanky place. Ambiance is nice. A little loud for a Thursday. Would be romantic but way too busy unless there are some hidden nooks in the corner. The waiter gave great recommendations. Had the Draper. Best 'old fashion' type drink I've had in a while. Had two just to make sure. Ordered the bistro chicken with haricots verts and classic Cesar salad. The chicken was perfection. The salad was over sauced but that's how I like it. The green beans had a sauce that was tasty too. I took my wife here for her birthday. We arrived around 6:45. Emma was our hostess and she was great. She greeted us with a smile and she explained to us how the waiting list works. You have to give them your cell phone number so that you can be added to the waiting list. Once your are added to the waiting list, you will receive a text. We received the initial text and left to go shopping. We received another text 30 minutes later that said our table would be ready shortly. When we returned to the restaurant we were seated in 5 minutes. Suggestion, go online and book a reservation in advance to save yourself some time. Alyssa P was our server and she was awesome. She made sure that everything was better than we expected. There were at least 4 people who came by our table to check on us and at least 2 of them were managers. The service is top notch and the food is good. My wife ordered a steak and I ordered the Bistro Chicken which was really good. We both had a cocktail and our total was about $75 which is good for a restaurant like this. If you want good food and good service, this is the place to go. I strongly recommend that you reserve you table online in advance. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I would like to see more on the appetizer/starter side. I was already singing praises before I stepped in the door to SRG before I walked in, because I've been to the location in Franklin TN a few times, and YES. The coffee-cured filet, first and foremost, is what you need to order. No, it doesn't taste like coffee- it's just perfectly crisped on the outside and cooked perfectly on the inside. I ordered a side salad which was HUGE, and a side of caramelized onion mashed potatoes which were amazing. The ONLY thing I would say even remotely negative was that my side salad was drenched in dressing.. which isn't the end of the world by any means but you know. The bring you biscuits before your meal (!!) and have lots of fun cocktails as well. Valet is available, and I'd suggest making a reservation in advance! Stoney River has become a Saddle Creek and Germantown staple since it opened. The restaurant features an expansive menu, a beautiful interior, and thoughtful touches. It has hard to leave fully satiated. On my most recent visit, we visited on a Wednesday evening and were lucky enough to snag a late reservation. We waited at the bar and ordered drinks prior to being seated. We started with the steak rolls which are an essential try. It is a large egg roll cut in half filled with a thinly sliced steak. Served with a side of sauce, it is the perfect start to your meal. I continued with Brussel sprouts and the Thai salad (my favorite dish). Everything came out superb, and I was lucky enough to have a belated birthday cake slice on the house. Unfortunately, you cannot transfer your tab from the bar to your table which feels a bit archaic. It would definitely encourage me to have more drinks at the bar if this was the case. I have been to Stoney River many times each was excellent; however, my brother had to send his drink back to the bar 4 times before finally receiving the correct drink, the same one he previously ordered, once our food arrived. I'm sure there was some issue because this is not indicative of my opinion of SR. read more

If you want some really good food this is the place to go. All of our food was great. I have never tasted anything like this. The filet mignon was perfect and thick. I thought I was going to have trouble cutting it but I didn't. It cut like butter. Next my crab cake was great. The only down side is that it was only one. We had to cut it up to share it. Finally I attempted to eat the chocolate chip blonde. That thing is ginormous. It too was perfect. I felt like the food critic off of the movie Ratatouille. I have never tasted anything so good. Now the down side. Our waiter seemed a irritated by us being there. She didn't smile when she came to our table. The waiter had us waiting on everything. We ordered drinks. WAITED Received drinks.
