Fantastic! I popped in for a quick to go breakfast at this Montana State favorite. The staff were super friendly and helpful. I just got Eggs and Sausage, which we're both farm fresh! There were some really good looking hash browns, and some kind of stuffed breakfast rolls that I definitely want to try next time I'm in town. read more

Had breakfast here on a Friday morning, short wait time. Hostess and waitress were very pleasant. The food was fantastic! We had the Monte Christo...Wow. And the Hazel Marie omelette, the best omelette I've ever had! A little expensive for breakfast but worth it. read more

This is the best breakfast place I have ever been to. Great ambience, excellent service, and fantastic food. I had two "manhole covers" (giant pancakes), and they were the most delicious pancakes I've ever had--so delicious, in fact, that they still tasted amazing even without syrup. I soon learned, however, that two of these bad boys is WAY too much for any person (see the attached pic), so do yourself a favor and stick to just one. this place is sort of off the beaten path of your mainstream bozeman scene. It's snuggly located in the heart of MSU, Bozeman's University. For starters I found out that everything served is locally sourced. Turns out the head chef has studied French cuisine and it's very evident in this quant breakfast/brunch cafe. Had no plans to go here. Was waiting at Granny's Donuts next door when we found out that they don't take credit cards. This place is right next door. Nothing to look at from the outside, but the food is amazing. Bacon & sausage from their own ranch. I had the French toast with sausage. Incredible - the only French toast I've had which can rival the best French toast in the world from Sacramento's Tower Cafe. It's vanilla-custard dipped, then cooked til crispy on the outside. Excellent. Service was fast and very friendly. Kept the coffee topped off. My only recommendation is that they offer fresh-squeezed orange juice. read more

The service here is amazing. I have eaten here many times, and have never had bad service or bad food. Most of the items on their menu are farm to fork. The hash browns are the best in town, with that nice golden crisp. The chicken fried steak is tasty, nice and crispy. The poncho and lefty is my favorite. I'm definitely a fan of this joint, their french toast is bomb.com My husband does the GF thing so he orders the Vaquero with no tortilla and they cover it in green chile gravy. Makes him happppppppppy. Children love the small play area and they really have to have that there because the food takes a good while to come out. read more

For the chicken fried steak, you can get it with either green chili gravy or their traditional, I could not decide so they brought me both on the side, both were so amazingly good that I could not pick a favorite. Eat breakfast - go about your day - eat a salad for dinner at 10pm. The meals are that big. I ordered the Poncho and Lefty - ginormous. The tortillas were fried crispy, not greasy. The beans added a nice texture and flavor, and the chorizo was outstanding. My wife had the Vaquero - also gigantic, but not as epic as my meal! The green chili gravy on it was spicy and flavorful, and the chipotle hot sauce they had on the table (they have three, including a habanero one that I didn't try sadly) was smoky and delicious. We ordered a side of bacon well done, and it was cooked just right - nice thick strips, too. They aren't messing around here, and you seriously will be content to skip lunch after your meal here. Great breakfasts. Ate here twice in a week on a recent trip to Bozeman. Sausage and pork from a local farm make a yummy treat with eggs or pancakes. You will wonder why a single pancake costs just over $5, but when you see it you'll get it. Huge, cooked to,perfection and absolutely delicious. I couldn't finish mine, I would recommend splitting one. Nice area for kids to play while waiting for breakfast. Everything is made to order so it does take a little longer than a typical diner but completely worth the wait. Another reason to love Bozeman. read more

I love this place more than anything! Every item on the menu is delicious- from the breakfast burrito to the burgers. They're usually super busy on the weekends and it can be a trick to find parking, but you can enjoy a cup of coffee on their couches while you wait. (Big perk!) Was excited to try this business until we actually recieved our meal.. I ordered the sandwich with no barbecue sauce, it came slathered in it. Upon trying to get them to remake it, they decided to rinse off my food and refry/cook it!! Sanitation issues you think???? Health department might want to chat with them on this, with all the covid issue we are having.. when my remade food was returned to me, it was only part of the sandwich. After talking to the owner??? manager?? well to say the least, she was rude and very inconsiderate and didn't want to hear what we had to say. She even made a comment of if they would have remade it she would be charging me twice because it was an expensive sandwich!!!! This is 100% not the way to handle a situation when it was the server that neglected to tell the kitchen no barbecue sauce!! I will not be returning to this establishment which is sad to say because it could have brought them a lot of business. read more

I was really excited about going to this place and we called ahead to make sure we could eat without waiting too long. On the phone the a lady said the wait would be an hour and a half long. We put our names on the wait list. We arrived at the place after waiting an hour and asked if anything was available. The hostess then said that we still had an hour to wait and was generally very unkind. After waiting an hour and a half, we still didn't have a table. We then talked to the hostess again about how we should have our table by now and she said that she heard the lady on the phone say that the wait would be 2 hours, even though she obviously didn't. We ended up not even eating there, and if you have a schedule or some place to be, we wouldn't recommend it. read more

If you like a large, hearty breakfast, this is the place for you. My husband had the chicken fried steak at 10:00am and didn't need to eat for the rest of the day. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table, but it was understandable considering we were there on a Sunday morning during prime brunch hours. Lots of hype around this place, and unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations. The restaurant was extremely loud and chaotic. We waited 45 minutes for a table and another 30 for food. By the time we ordered, the breakfast menu had closed (11am) so we went with other options. The food was okay, but kind of bland. We were hungry and wanted to stop at the first eatery we'd see. So we happened to stop here, and we're enormously pleased with Storm Castle. Nice country style ambiance and comfortable. We had a very affable waitress. The breakfast dish called Poncho & Lefty was an explosion of wonderful flavors for the mouth! It consists of two crisp flour tortillas, cowboy beans, potatoes, chorizo, peppers, onions, and cheese piled high, and topped with eggs, fresh pico de gallo, and sour cream. Storm castle is great for a hearty meal! I usually have plenty leftover for lunch the next day. I love the focus on homemade, homegrown food. The pickled veggies are a little on the spicy side for me, but they are really delicious. If you like spicy food this is a great place. Rude assholes. They didn't answer the phone until the 5th call, and then they kept hanging up on me immediately after telling me the wait time. I was asking for a one person seat. One person that answered the phone said 45 mins to and hour and hung up, the second said ten minutes and hung up, the third said an hour, the fourth said they had no idea for one, and the last said one person could be easy to accommodate. The place is good, BUT F THEIR ASSHOLE STAFF. STAY ON THE PHONE AND GIVE ME ALL THE DETAILS WITHOUT HANGING UP.
