This place is amazing!!! So good! Ordered a hot chocolate which was very large and delicious. My husband got a coffee malt shake which was way better tasting than I expected. I kept taking sips! My husband got a Huge breakfast burrito which was extremely large and very yummy (I had a bite). I got the waffle which was delicious. It came with whipped cream, butter, blueberries and strawberries, and powder sugar. It came with bacon which was thick cut and delicious! I left a few messages because I'd wanted to buy a large gift certificate ($150, and i stated this in my voicemails) as a gift but it took them nearly 3 WEEKS to respond. On our last day of visiting Bozeman Montana before our flight out we wanted a late morning brunch. We found this place from Yelp reviews and didn't realize when we selected it that it was a Guy Fieri Triple D spot. Let's me start by saying we had a large group of 10 and that is usually hard for a small restaurant. The staff did everything they can to accommodate us. It didn't take long to get seated. Out of the 10 people in group, 6 were children 7 years old and younger. I love that they had a great selection on their menu including a children's menu to fill an adult. From my pictures you can see we had a good selection of food. The Pro Campo stood out to me and it's what I selected. Great flavors with a Tex/max twist. My wife got the Monte Crisio which was packed with a flavor punch for sure. It tasted really good especially adding the jam onto the sandwich. We all enjoyed our food, the great customer service, and had a chance to meet with one of the chefs to share our great experience. We had plenty of leftovers to enjoy on our flight home (big plus). I will make sure we stop by again when we visit this great town again!! read more

On our way from the airport to our resort in Bozeman, we stopped at the Storm Castle Café for lunch. I wish I could go to this café every single day until I worked my way through every item on the menu. It is that good! My husband enjoyed the bacon cheeseburger with fries, and I had the chicken empanada served with their beans, and I topped it with lots of their homemade hot sauce (the chipotle sauce)! Our waitress Jodie helped me pick out the empanada since I was having a hard time choosing among three top meals; this was her favorite, and she eats one at least once a week. The last review was wayyy too nice. I travel with my job constantly around the US for the past 30 yrs, and I eat out at 200+/- restaurants per year. That puts me at about 6,000 +/- experiences under my belt. Bozeman has recently become near the top of my list due to the diversity of menus, individuality of all the different local restaurants, and great quality of service that you receive here - it's truly been a pleasure to dine here just in the past two trips that I've visited here. I've eaten at 12 restaurants in two trips, and this 13th was by far the worst, and also the worst experience I've ever had with a staff interaction....Didn't mind the hour wait, honestly - great weather and walked around the MSU campus and stopped at a great local Brewery next door to grab a pint while waiting. Our server was great, courteous, very outgoing, and all around cool guy. But after waiting an hour for our food, and seeing multiple people that arrived after us order and receive their food (and one table actually finished and left before ours arrived). We caught the attention of a waitress and asked if she could check on our food - She promptly interrupted and literally said, "sometimes thing just take an hour here..." I started to explain that we understood that, but we just wanted her to check on our order, she turned away and said, "there's a ticket hanging up over there, it's 'probably' yours..." She then walked away and literally yelled, "THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE!" WTF?... Shortly after, our server came by and apologized for the delay, check on the food, and we received it soon after (about an hour after ordering)...The eggs that were ordered over-medium were 'barely' cooked - looked like they were cracked open and thrown on the plate- i gagged looking at them - glad I ordered the Patty Melt (ha) So, my family ate what they could, and we requested the check...Then it really got Good... A cook comes out of the Kitchen and asks us, "How was everything"... Well, you know, if you don't want to know - then don't ask... We explained the issue with the eggs and the girl who yelled at us, and he seemed to start to apologize, asking "where are you from?" We say, "Nashville", and he literally says, "Ah, well things take longer here in Montana than they do in Tennessee"...WTF again? I know better than to argue with degenerates, so I stand up to leave, and this guy gets in my face and says (and I quote), "Oh, you're mad aren't you?!, You wanna do something to me, don't you?!, You better not mess with me!" Unreal, he says this to me, as I'm trying to just walk out of the restaurant, like seriously antagonizing me for some reason... I just spent $100 on your undercooked food, your horrible service, and just trying to get out of this experience all together, and what are you trying to prove now? Management speaks for itself for allowing their service personnel to talk to people, yell at, and treat people like this. This place is an embarrassment to the Bozeman dining scene, and there are SOOO many other better places to go. Just pick any of them, and you will have a better experience than this place... whatever is raved about this place you will have at any other restaurant in Bozeman. Prices are comparable to other places in Bozeman and portion sizes are large. After watching Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives I had to go back and try the Monte Cristo--let me just say, totally worth it! It is a ton of food so I definitely recommend splitting with someone or planning to take leftovers home. The syrup they provide is fresh made with seasonal fruit which just tops off the entire dish. Food is good, lots of choices and love the hole in the wall atmosphere. Hostess is incredibly rude and inconsistent with when the bar is open seating or not, leaving customers like myself unaware of the frequent policy changes. Sometimes with a regular seating wait time the bar is open seating, sometimes it's not. Listen to me right now, if you had a poncho and lefty in one hand and a western burger in the other you would be more dangerous than mike Tyson in the summer of 1989. When you go here you only need one meal for the whole day I'll tell you that right now. The poncho and lefty is something out of the Bible, it has many layers each with a different meaning, one with love, one with darkness, and one that makes you want to go for a run, the beans chorizo and tortilla with the potato and the one hot pepper on the side to kick things up a notch when you need it create a wonderful combination of flavors and makes an outstanding experience. The burger was probably one the juiciest burgers I've ever tried and the Texas toast elevated it to a whole different level. That's it I could taste the beef in the burger which is amazing because normally you just taste cheese and bacon and weird sauce and toppings when you bite into a burger but I tasted the beef and it blended with the Texas toast in the most sexual way it was amazing. Listen to me when I tell you if walk out of this place with a poncho and lefty and a western burger you will become a different person after you finish that meal. 10/10 read more

Some places are so good you need to go twice. That was the case when my wife and I breezed into Bozeman and was ready for breakfast. If you are VERY hungry, get "The Vaquero." It's a Breakfast burrito as big as your forearm that is stuffed with potato, your meat of choice (I suggest sausage or chorizo), cheese, and then covered in a delicious spicy gravy. Heaven on a plate. My wife scored the "Biscuits and Lotion" which was the best biscuit and gravy she's ever had. She also had the French toast, which is so good you will roll your eyes clear back in your head. Also, the staff really hustles and takes great care of you. If you are ever through Bozeman, eat here. Somewhat regular patron, went back yesterday morning. As usual the food was very good. The restaurant experience left a lot too be desired. We had a front row seat to, I assume either the head cook or owners meltdown. The kitchen was a bit slower than normal, and this person spent most of the time we were there admonishing the people in the kitchen loudly enough that we could hear everything he said. At first it seemed an isolated moment but he continued to loudly berate his staff to the point where we considered getting up and leaving. My wife whose family had a restaurant for over 40 years repeatedly wanted to say something. We bit our lips and finished our meal. The restaurant was very busy on a Friday morning. Apparently they have been featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. The dining room has quite the "cowboy" decor. We both had Grandma's Cheese Enchiladas with two eggs on the side. You can also add a side of meat. The eggs were cooked well and the enchiladas had a good sauce. However, they were made so that there was as much corn tortilla as there was cheese and sauce. The servings were large enough to take home leftovers if we had been so inclined. Each table has bottles of three different salsas to add as well. Both were good, though I preferred the enchiladas because I'm not super into sweet and fried foods - personal preference! We did have to wait about 1/2 hour for a table (not enough wait staff; a common problem for many restaurants now). Once seated the service was responsive and quick. I love this place. I think it's absolutely in the top 3 best breakfast spots in Bozeman without doubt. The 4 stars go to the food and the friendly staff. However, be prepared for long wait times, like really long (1-1.5 hours on a Sunday) and sadly they'll tell you it will be 20-25 minutes. I can't tell you how many times I have had this happen. Also, the food is slow ( I've waited as long as 50 minutes) and that's a shame. But it's so dang good I can't count this against them too much. The only other downside here is that they get a lot of students, who are clearly still learning how to behave in public and that restaurants aren't the same as their beloved Miller dining hall. Hey kids, just grow up a little and act like an adult when you're in public eh? Again though, can't fault the restaurant too much for this but perhaps they'll move away to a larger location at some point to accommodate long wait times and diversify their crowd. As good as it was three years ago. Breakfast before dropping off daughter at MSU for her final year. Crowded so sat at counter and chatted with a local couple. Atmosphere A plus. Super fiendly and helpful staff. Hubby got special which was a pork enchillada, but that doesn't begin to describe it and I failed to take pictures. Daughter excellent homemade hash and eggs and I had omelet with gravy. Gravy rocks. Endless cups of strong coffee. The portions are super large and if you are a 20 year old male you could probably eat it all. As it was we sent our daghter back to dorm with food for the next day. Oh, and if they happen to be offering homemade zucchini bread with zucchini from their farm get it. Super good, two thick slices which we enjoyed on our drive home. read more

Very good unless you have an issue.. Managemen (owner??) was just shy of rude, first blamed the customer, then the server. A burger for one of us was ordered with no BBQ sauce (allergy? doesn't like? Idk... ) When the food was returned to the kitchen, they LITERALLY rinsed it off and warmed it back up... Oh ya.. and only HALF of the sandwich because she had taken a bite... Pretty sue the health dept would frown on that. My friend is an executive with a very large local corporation with literally 1000's of employees across the state. Guess where they won't be recommending to their employees and for business meals? Storm Castle.. Too bad. If this very small issue ( happens all the time, usually no harm, no foul) would have been handled appropriately, they would have had a lot of referral business. read more

Superb lil' mom and pop breakfast joint. Little jams on the counter, limitless coffee, sassy waitresses, busy kitchen, and even...booze! If you're so inclined. They have tables and booths and even a bar where you can belly up if you wanna treat yourself to a brekkie and have a chat or read the paper.
