    Crayfish etoufe, and feast #2

What an experience in eating over boiled unseasoned seafood. The quantity was fine and up to par with other Storming Crabs. However, mushy, water logged meats just did not get my vote. You would think polish sausages, red potatos, and steamed broccoli would have been seasoned well enough to enjoy. Besides that the decor, the attention we received from the time we entered was an upgrade to many other restaurants like the Crab. Will try again in Lexington, Kentucky in the next few weeks to see how they compare.

I was hesitant to try seafood in Rapid City but,Storming Crab is really good! The fried okra appetizer is perfectly cooked, crisp and fresh! My husband got the Fried Shrimp Poboy. It came with Cajun fries. He said the sandwich was really fresh and came out hot. I got the pick 2 combo. Sausage and head-off shrimp with 1 corn and 1 potato. There are different "boils" you can choose from so I picked the Cajun boil. They have garlic, old bay, butter etc. it's from mild to extra hot! Service has always been really quick and they are very nice!

Crab and shrimp boil medium heat

We ate here before when we went through last year. It was good as before, we only ordered 1 seafood boil bag this time as 2 were too much last time. Service is friendly and fast. We tried the old bay medium heat sauce it was delicious!!! Husband thought it was a little too spicy I thought it was just right.

Had a bad experience last night after eating the food sent my wife myself and my son to the hospital for food poison went back this morning and they said they could do anything about it. The said I got food poisoning somewhere else and trying to blame it on them. We love crab, Mad and unsatisfied. Any comments on what to do?

Excellent food, excellent experience and surprisingly fresh for a land locked location like South Dakota, especially the oysters!

I was excited to see a restaurant like this in Rapid City because it's something different. This one star review is based on food quality alone. My family and I came here for dinner because I really wanted to try it out as it's a new restaurant in the city. However, all five of us ended up getting diarrhea afterwards, which I found very surprising especially from my brother who didn't eat any of the food we ordered except for some of the fries, boiled egg, and sausage. I don't know what happened, but I suspect the food quality is not that great because we were all doing fine beforehand. Not sure what else to say besides that no one likes to get diarrhea after paying a $200+ bill.

1/2 Dungeness, 1/2 snow crab, 1/2 calms & sausage - with Cajun house spices. Yummmmy!!

I understand this is a newer restaurant & do have some recommendations for the mngt consideration - I'll start with the food: We received complimentary cheese bread, which had a mayonnaise-y aftertaste. After 1 bite, I knew it wasn't for me. I think just the bread with cheese would have been pretty good. I ordered a mix/match of 1/2 lbs of snow crab, 1/2 Dungeness & 1/2 clams. This came with 1 mini corn cob & red potatoes (I added some sausage), I selected the crab house Cajun spices - medium heat. Ohhhh man the seasoning for the "crab boil" was the reason this is a 4 star review instead of 3 star. The buttery, spicy sauce had huge chunky of garlic. In hindsight I wouldn't have added sausage - it was average & didn't jazz up the dish much. The food is in a plastic bag & poured into a dish - which I think is part of their schtick. The server was - "meh", I asked for recommendations for amount of food (e.g. is 1 lb of x enough for "1 person" - every time I asked questions about "how much food is this?" Her only answer was "depends how much you eat" - I think servers should be given training/exposure for answering questions about "how much food is in a pound of [insert type of food]" - for people that don't eat seafood often (especially in Rapid City,SD).

Laina had very attentive service. The crab was crackalackin! Delicious and covered in butter. Loved it.

Loved my meal of shrimp in Old Bay Butter. Service was quick and efficient. I would eat there again.

The hubby was till praising the pulled pork sandwich the next day. The service was excellent! The whole "gas station" vibe just works! Great Vibes, but the Food and Service Fell Flat…read more We stopped by Sickles Burgers to grab a bite after a long day of sightseeing at the local monuments. It was close to our hotel and had solid reviews, but unfortunately, our experience didn't live up to the hype. The Atmosphere: I'll start with the positives--the place has great vibes. There are sports TVs on multiple walls showing different games, making it a fun environment to hang out in. They also have a nice selection of tasty local beers. The Service: When we arrived, we were immediately told the kitchen was backed up and that we should probably find somewhere else to go. Because we were unfamiliar with the area and worried about long waits elsewhere, we decided to risk it and stay. Surprisingly, the food only took about 30 minutes, which wasn't bad given the warning. However, it took quite a while just to get our drinks. Later on, it also took a frustratingly long time just to get a side of mayo. The Food: This is where things really went downhill. When the food finally arrived, the fries were completely cold. The burgers looked okay at first glance, but both of our orders were completely wrong. To make matters worse, the burgers were cold too. Because we were exhausted and starving, we just ate what we were given without complaining, but it was incredibly disappointing. Verdict: While the atmosphere and local beer selection are great, the execution in the kitchen and the service just weren't there. We won't be returning.

As someone who loves to road trip, I like to check out the "big name" gas stations along the highways. A couple of years ago, while on a west-to-east road trip, I decided to check out a Sheetz gas station to see what they were all about. When I walked in, it felt pretty typical. Nice atmosphere, corporate vibe, and either way, a seemingly great place to stop for a soft drink and some snacks. A man approached me. He was wearing extremely stained denim overalls and could have benefited from an appointment with a good dentist, or possibly a veterinarian. Based on his verbal articulation and commoner appearance, I gathered he was likely a local to Warren, Ohio. He confirmed this when he told me that his nearby Sheetz gas station was one of the only places he would order pizza from. In less colorful words, he explained that the pizza was surprisingly gourmet and that Sheetz should be recognized as a Michelin-star restaurant for it. Optimistically, I decided to trust this local man and his opinion. I ordered the same pepperoni-lover pizza that he did. The man wished me safe travels and walked out. I then observed him scratching his armpit outside of his vehicle before throwing his pizza into the passenger seat and driving away. After a brief wait, my ticket number was called and my pie was handed to me. Sheetz pepperoni-lover pizza committed the culinary equivalent of manslaughter. It looked like pizza, smelled vaguely like pizza, and then somehow tasted like someone baked a wet paper towel on top of a thick flour tortilla. The pepperoni contributed all the excitement of beige wallpaper, and the cheese had the personality of a tax form. Styrofoam trays make for more flavorful meals. That brings me to today. I've always thought of myself as a man who learns lessons, followed by better decision-making. While traveling through Rapid City, I was in the mood for some pizza. Off Omaha Street, an obvious pizza place caught my eye. I pulled into the parking lot, where, ironically, two older gentlemen were sharing a pie from this pizza restaurant on the back of their work vehicle. The restaurant is called Boss' Pizza and Chicken. It has an appealing storefront, clean windows, and attractive brick facades. I rolled my window down and asked the gentlemen how the pie was. Their response was poorly articulated, but nonetheless a resoundingly positive review. Some friendly words were exchanged between the three of us, and ultimately, I decided to go in and order a pizza. Great menu options: pastas, chicken, sandwiches, etc. I was feeling good about ordering the buffalo chicken pizza pie. A quick deal with the friendly staff, about a 15-minute wait, and my pie was ready. I waited to open the box until I was in my vehicle. Upon lifting the lid, my brain and mouth casually burst out, "$28 for THIS? Ha!" The "large" pie had absolutely no weight to it. They square-cut the slices, and with such an ultra-conservative amount of cheese, there was nothing holding the pieces together. It was like opening a puzzle box. The ultra-thin pieces went everywhere. Okay, okay, calm down now. Let's get to the pizza. I guess I just didn't learn my lesson after trusting that raggedy man in Ohio. When I bit into the pizza from Boss' in Rapid City, I had not experienced that magnitude of underwhelming disappointment since the day I trusted the raggedy man in Ohio. But the mere financial cost of this mistake was like pouring acid into a wound. Boss' pizza has the texture of a stale, unsalted saltine cracker, with a dusting of entirely flavorless sauces, a carefully measured .25 ounces of topping, and an eighth of a cup of what I can only imagine to be Great Value brand mozzarella that had been kept in a freezer for 11 months. This is the kind of pizza that gives Italians nightmares. Every time Boss' gets an online order, somewhere in Italy, a nonna wakes up in a cold sweat and doesn't know why. The pizza tasted like it lost a custody battle with flavor. The only thing truly authentic about that pizza was my disappointment. How could I be so thoughtless as to allow this to happen to me again? Boss' Pizza in Rapid City, your pizza should come with an apology letter on every box. 0/10. Would absolutely eat at Sheetz before ordering your $28 pie again.
