I thought the piercing was gonna be painful but it was surprisingly painless. I know it my hurt later on as it heals but Shauntelle was incredible at helping me decide on the color of the iodization purple I wanted abs helping me pick out a stone bead for it. She told me when to breath in and out during the piercing and told me each step she was doing. She was calm and gentle and is very sweet. Thank you Shauntelle for my beautiful daith and a year later for my helix piercing. I love both piercings and the daith has helped for reducing my migraines and has helped with me having anxiety attacks. She walked me through aftercare and the steps (from cleaning the area and placement of the jewelry to piercing the ear and cleaning up). I called asking if they had any same day appointments available, and I was pleasantly surprised that they did! I was very eager to see if it was possible to get my ears re-pierced after not having my earrings in for longer than a year. I'm continually impressed by soulfire. Weather I'm in for a new piercing or just a jewelry change hall and his staff take the utmost care in the procedure. All of their equipment is sterile/one time use, which is a rare gem in this area. This is the only studio ive been in that put the same sterilization consideration into a simple jewelery change as they would an entirely new piercing. All of my piercings from here have been perfectly placed, heal easy and the piercer always makes me feel comfortable (which says a lot considering you're being stabbed in the face with a needle) I order all my jewelry here, anything I need from fancy gold to simple nose rings and never once have they been pushy or arrogant with me. This place is amazing! Hal is wonderful and very skilled at what he does. I'd give this place 10 stars if I could. I was 6.5 months pregnant and had a belly button ring that wouldn't come out. I called with this rather strange removal request and he was willing to help me. He made me feel so at ease and worked really hard to remove a VERY difficult to budge belly piercing. He was so thorough and methodical and made me feel so at ease the entire time. On a recent visit to Portland, I had the pleasure of getting a beautiful new piece of jewelry from Soulfire and got to have Hall replace my conch piercing with it. While he took out my old cheap and grungy jewelry to replace it, he explained how the gold plating came off over time and actually turned the previously clear backing a brownish color. Yuck! It was also a "regular" earring which poked my head/neck when I slept on that side. Hall showed me the new piece from anotometal, which is the perfect length for this piercing and has a flat backing so I don't even notice it anymore! It is also a quality 18k gold piece, so unlike buying several cheap pieces over time and having the gold rub off, I will be able to have this forever. Thanks for showing me your ways, Hall! My daughter will be 5 next month and for the last year all she has wanted was to get her ears pierced. I had a horrible experience at Claire's when I was a kid that led to a horrible infection and my piercing never healing well, so I knew that when she was ready to get her ears pierced I would only take her to the best. Soulfire is the BEST and Rivka was amazing! She had us come in after lunch and her and my daughter talked for awhile about what was going to happen and she answered all my daughters questions and then she showed her all the tools and let her pick out her earrings. Rivka is very confident and experienced, which made for a very calm approach. My daughter was able to laugh and talk with her like we had known her for a while which made her very comfortable. During the piercing my daughter said it hurt a little and Rivka was able to keep her calm and talk her through it. After it was done my daughter was all smiles and has been ever since we left. We could have not have asked for a better experience. I went in for a belly button ring because mine had fallen out and I was greeted by Hall, the owner. This guy knows his stuff, but he also offered to put the belly button ring in for me free of charge. I expected him to just unwrap it and put it in, but he took the time to go through the entire decontamination process, educate me about how to tell the difference between a good piece of jewelry and what is cheap, and as I left he threw in a free saline solution for me to clean it with....
