I eat at this place, for some reason, every few years. Well, it seems to change ownership @ that often so I guess I'm hoping for something wondrous to happen? I tried it a few weeks ago when comparing pizza sizes/prices with area competitors and with a coupon, Straw Hat won a round. I purchased a Meat-e-or speciality pizza and it was okay for the prize/size. So...this weekend, a long weekend, I thought I'd splurge and bought another Meat-e-or and a BBQ Chicken pizza. Now, I worked at many fast-food places while growing up and I know what to do and not to do, especially on pizza. WHY in the world do places like this do their level best to put the bare minimum of toppings on a pizza? PEOPLE! We are talking about flour and water, BBQ sauce and some cheese. These are not costly items. Then, red onion...there wasn't enough to fill up a tablespoon on my pizza! Then, cilantro...oh, no. Wait. Cilantro is green and tasty. They put....[please find a safe place to sit down before reading further] CARROT SHAVINGs on my pizza!!!!! Which, of course dried out and withered and were just...um, yeah. Not on pizza folks! Ever consider telling a PAYING customer that you're OUT of 1 ingredient? They'll usually cut you some slack and say, "Fuggetaboutit...that's fine without. Thanks for bein' up front!" BUT...when you pull a fast one on a pre-paid pizza and hope the customer won't notice?!!! Poor form! AND it teaches the kids you have working for you that it's OK to short people in business! SHAME on you. I'm pondering returning this for credit. Your main competitor charges @ $10-11 MORE for the same size pizza, that is somehow larger than yours [even their boxes are bigger!] and there are no bald patches on a "specialty" pizza. Why do you make me have to GO there?!!! I'm pretty sure there will be another convenience store or Vape shop set up in the space you're renting now, in a few years. read more

I ordered delivery which was on time and fairly quick. The only problem was my order wasn't made to my request sadly. I ordered a one topping pepperoni pizza with extra cheese and extra sauce I didn't receive either. I also ordered the cheese burger substituting the french fries for salad because last time I ordered the ham and cheese that came with fries, the fries were soggy. This time I still received the fries, but still got the salad I requested but with no dressing!!!! So I had no dressing for my salad and no extra cheese or sauce on my pizza. Unfortunately, I should have taken the advise from the previous reviews. I walked in to an empty establishment and waited at least 5 minutes before someone came to assist me. A side salad was nearly 8 dollars! I ordered my small pizza and specifically sat down to have a hot cheesy gooey pizza... it cam out cold!!!!!!! Very disappointing seeing I was the only customer... My mom, brother and I shared a chicken bacon ranch pizza and we all really enjoyed it. Generous with the toppings and I liked that the chicken on the pizza was good quality, no biting into fat or cartilage. The white sauce was good, I was afraid it would overpower the pizza, but they only put on a really light coating. The inside of the restaurant is really clean and bright. Good stuff. read more

Wife and I went here for their lunch buffet. The food was meh, better than a frozen pizza but no where near Mountain Mikes or Round Table. In fact I would put it below Costco pizza. (keep in mind this was lunch buffet pizza, so I don't know how long it'd been sitting out etc.) The service was excellent and friendly and we were checked on many times. Really nice environment and the TV's are a plus. Wife pointed out they do other food in addition to pizza such as pasta, burgers and even what appears to be a yogurt or ice cream bar. They also deliver within the area. Paid I believe $15 or $16 for two people for drinks, pizza and salad. Can't complain here. The convenient location, service and variety of foods they offer are why I gave it 4 stars despite the average pizza. read more

I ordered at 4:40pm for 6:30 pick up on line at "Slice" the order was not ready at time requested waited 20 minutes an got pizza that was not what I ordered. I come here every thursday and saturday for karaoke. Its a good place for groups, kids, adults. I don't always eat here, but when i do, they give me exactly what i special order in a timely manner. The staff on those nights treat me great ie; the owner, the manager Gary, a server/cook/cashier named Hailey(very polite). I always have fun going there. read more

I wish you can put 0 stars. This place is a mess! Ripped seats and dirty tables! The floor looked like it wasn't vacuumed in ages! I came in today to have a good karaoke time, but couldn't enjoy it because the management seemed to be screaming at the employees. The only good thing was the DJ! I noticed the lack of gloves and sanitization when my pizza was being made. Also, I ordered a wine and the employee looked like a very young teen... definitely too young to be serving alcohol! I like strawhat pizza. I always get good customer service. We live close by, and order often enough. While I've not tried everything on the menu, I do like the pizza we usually order - large pizza, white sauce, with chicken, bacon & jalapeños. It's a winning combo! This place is consistent with poor service. We came here for the buffet today and in the 45 minutes we were there they only brought out one fresh pizza. When we arrived there was two halves of pizzas and some bread sticks all of which was old and hard. The salad bar was mostly empty and I watched a woman actually turn it on, it was after 1:00 at that time and they open at 11, so it had been sitting there getting warm the whole time. We had a large order for our sons party referred by Driven Raceway. Everyone was very pleasant over the phone. I spoke to Gary and Veronica who went over and beyond getting the order taken care of. The day of the party we had a little miscommunication on if the order was being delivered or not. Unfortunately, i didn't get the name of the other lady i spoke to but she was also very helpful. They were able to get all the pizzas, salad, and bread sticks delivered and we had a blast at the party. Food was perfect temperature and delicious! Thank you straw hat for coming through for us. I placed an order through yelp for a medium pizza and a salad totaling $30.00. Recieved a confirmation email that the wait time was 40-60 minutes. 2 HOURS pass nothing! I call to find out their driver is out sick and they cannot deliver. They told me I'd need to come in for a refund and it has to be in cash because they dont have the ability to refund credit and debit cards. Well the reason I selected delivery is because my 2 year old and 1 year old are both napping. So now, no lunch and I'll have to drive down to get a refund. Extremely frustrating. I'm from Texas and throughout my life I've visited California many, many times. This was my very first time trying Straw Hat Pizza. This is hands down one of the best pizza places I've ever been to. The food and service was delicious, fast and friendly. The pizza was hot, with fresh veggies and just enough sauce and cheese on every bite. Also the fried string beans were SO GOOD! Dip those suckers in some of their freshly made ranch and you have a party going on in your mouth. Speaking of parties, this Straw Hat location was also super fun to be in. I was there last weekend for Halloween and they had a costume contest with prizes for the customers and their live karaoke had the entire place clapping, singing and dancing all night long. On the way through from Sacramento I was in for a great surprise when I stopped by Straw Hat Pizza in Fairfield. The staff is so friendly, the place is very clean, the food is a home run and the karaoke is on point. It's a family place with a great atmosphere. The people that came are wonderful singers and very welcoming. I ended up staying almost 2 hour and I would've stayed longer if I didn't have to leave. I will be back! read more
