Great pizza,good service,and nicely decorated inside.Great tasting pizza to be expected from straw hat,just like its always been as i remember as a kid growing up,our family would always go our local straw hat in redwood city,now closed down for years.Ive been here quite a few times over the last few years and always satisfied with the menu and service.Love the garlic twists and tap beer.Tecate on tap! Blue moon too! They have other mex and american beers in bottle too.They have a huge private room for parties and video games all over.This place seems to always be busy all the time.Got to finally meet the owner last weekend,hes a really nice guy,very friendly with all patrons.He now hosts boxing and UFC fights! This place has got to have a couple dozen tvs all over the place and he told us that he's about to add another dozen screens more! Wow- what a pleasant surprise this place was. I have been in other Straw Hats and this one is nothing like the others. My first impression was that it was fresh and updated. The walls are covered with tv's playing all kinds of sports. The staff was friendly and very helpful with our ordering. We had a large group and it can get a bit crazy when trying to get everything together but these guys were fabulous. Our food came out hot and exactly as we ordered it. The pizza was really good but my favorite was the hot hats and wings. The beer was nice and cold and there was a great selection to choose from. My kids and I were both impressed with the arcade room. Every game was working and they didn't take a ton of tokens to play. Both of my children earned enough tickets to get something from the prize machine and they came away happy. We will certainly be back to this Straw Hat for sure. read more

This pizza place is by far the best place in the world!!! I love strawhat pizza and the service and the owners treat us like family. It's perfect for both kids and adults. Not only is the pizza great, but they also have large flat screen tv's to watch sports, and they have the most awesome arcade games for kids. The kids can stay busy while we watch sports, eat pizza, drink some beer and hang out. They offer sponsorships for teams too. My fiance and I usually go to the Milpitas location and we absolutely love it! Now that we live closer to Hayward we decided to come here, and what a bad idea it was! First of all the second you walk in the place smells so bad I can't even describe it. Not even a hello by the person behind the bar. We sat ourselves down and when the food came we had to ask for plates and utensils and we ended up with plastic silverware that melted along the process due to the temperature of the food! We had a company event at a brewery in Alameda, and Vijay from Strawhat pizza helped me with the whole process - Ordering for 35 people is not easy, especially when some are vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free! He was very fast, efficient, and would call me if he had any questions to ensure everything was correct. He made the ordering process very easy and was punctual, and even took a last minute order since I forgot a vegan colleague, and he delivered the vegan pizza 15 minutes later! Our company down the street, has been coming here since 2006. Recently, the already high quality pizza joint surprised me.. they got even better.. new ownership... Employees are great, owner is an angel. Being a Dallas Cowboys fan, I regularly watch the Sunday games here.. Sure whatever you might be busy so makes sense you could just be rude over the phone. I walk in to pick up the food 30 minutes later. It's dead inside and I'm about to find out why. Same Latina chick prob in her late 30s who answered the phone is at the register and has her same bitchy tone as she did over the phone. Like you are ruining her day just for wanting to pay for your pizza. $53 for an overpriced pizza that includes a 3% fee for using a credit card, which you are not warned about over the phone lol. What a shame and what a way to run a business. Safe to say I will never ever be back to this hasbeen sad excuse for a pizza joint. Trust me when I say you are better off going elsewhere. Pizza is decent but nowhere near good enough to make up for the shitty service you get.

It's a small restaurant hidden in the corner of a shopping strip. I ordered a personalized pizza with mushrooms and onions. Sometimes I like simple ingredients on a pizza. The crust was crunchy and vegan cheese was soft and melty.Delicious! The tomato sauce was a little sweet for my taste, but a little bit of salt helped. I'm definitely coming back!

I got a meatball sandwich, one of their specials this week. It comes with a pickle and pepperoncini on the side. Sandwich was delicious and warm. Really good ratio of ingredients and everything was neatly packed without a mess. I thought it could be a bit small but it's a solid work day lunch without falling asleep. Total with a drink and a bag of chips I paid around $16. Staff was helpful and friendly! I'd definitely come back here if I'm in the area.
