I came here for my birthday breakfast on 5/20/16 along with my 2 year old daughter and my sister. Pros: - the food was well made and cheap with large portions - the Nutella French toast was so delicious! - the noise level was normal not too loud not too quiet - cute little cafe - nice people - parking was surprisingly very easy! There's a metered parking lot directly across the street. - friendly waiter - as we left, the staff said goodbye to us with smiles Cons: - the food took a while to come out. We all came on an empty stomach and we were starving especially my 2 yr old but she didn't throw a tantrum she's a calm baby, which another patron complimented me for lol - it's kind of small in there not a lot of room to move around just enough to get by. I started getting nervous when my 2 year old didn't want to stay seated anymore after finishing her meal and wanted to dance around the table. I just gave her my phone and she watched cartoons while sitting on my lap to distract her. It's a great place and I will be coming back here again for breakfast. I will only come on weekday mornings (Monday-Friday). I won't ever come on a weekend because I don't feel like waiting 45 minutes while standing up on line. read more

I ordered breakfast this morning and it arrived to my table with the cooks hair in it. Totally gross! I looked at the guy cooking the food and he wasn't wearing a covering on his head. I called the waitress over, she apologized, and she said that they would cook me another breakfast. I was already disgusted and grossed out so I just left without eating breakfast. read more

There is something intangible about this place that make it the hands down best place to enjoy breakfast in Rockland County. I've heard about this place by many people... "small, but worth the trip;" "unusual flare," " eclectic ambiance/amazing food," were some of the accolades that were spoken. So I packed up my 2 teenage girls on Saturday morning and set off from Northern NJ to Nyack to see what the fuss was about. We arrived, and as expected the place was crowded. We gave our names and waited patiently. After 15-20 minutes, our hunger (and enthusiasm) grew knowing we would soon be seated. There was another party of 3 before us, but the wait would soon be over. A table of 6 finished their meal and the wait staff quickly turned the large table into a set of two. I whispered to the party in front of ..."It wont be long now!" Imagine my surprise when they by-passed BOTH parties of 3 to seat a party of 4 that had just walked in!. As we stood in disbelief, it quickly became apparent that these individuals were "friends" with the host, waiters, and other workers. I complained, but was ignored. After waiting nearly 30 minutes, we left. I was not going to support an establishment who treated new patrons so poorly. Clearly, they don't need the business and don t seem to care much about loosing potential customers. I'm sure my small bill wouldn't have made much of a difference, but small things like this add up. read more

I came here with my parents for a nice Sunday brunch. The host told us it would be a 30 minute wait. We ended up waiting over an hour before we left. We left after waiting an hour because we saw other customers who have already been seated, get their food after 40 minutes of waiting. Ridiculous wait time. Don't waste your time. read more

This is my new brunch place! I came here last Sunday for brunch with a friend, and it was absolutely wonderful. We walked in at 11am without a reservation and had no problem securing a table. A line did form after noon, so I would advise getting here a little bit earlier. This restaurant provided a very strong value with conscientious service. I had a HUGE salad topped with homemade tuna fish salad for less than $9. Also, they had high-end green tea which was a luxurious touch. I'll definitely come back here again very soon. read more

Best breakfast in town, hands-down. Just get there early, or be prepared to wait for 45 minutes or so (esp in the nice weather). Friendly and cheap, tasty and fast. Great pancakes, but stay away from the home fries (too greasy). Decent coffee too. read more

There's a lot of hype surrounding the strawberry place, and it is well-deserved. The food (esp french toast and waffles) is delicious. When we arrived (12 on a wednesday morning) the place was packed and they told us it was it was a 20 minute wait. Not bad. We were seated 45 minutes later and during the time we had to continue scooching over because the waffle maker and the freezer with the ice cream was on the other side of the kitchen. When my group of 5 got our food, each one of our orders were messed up in one way or another. They forgot my order of hot chocolate, forgot our coffee (we were charged for it), put cheese on my friend's burger (even though she specified no cheese), etc etc. They were so busy that no one came to check on us or no one passed by long enough for us to ask about the mistakes. We checked the receipt to see if we were charged with anything we didn't receive but the hand writing was sloppy so it was a bit confusing (they use handwritten receipts and a cash register from like the 19th century). Overall, food is worth coming back but choose a day that's not busy. read more

:( came here around 12. Not too busy, looks like there were three servers on the floor. No one came over to sit us but having come here before they usually tell you to pick a spot. So we sat down and a woman came over to wipe the table and set it. 10 minutes pass and still no menus. Boyfriend uses bathroom and comes back. No menus still. Three different parties around us came and were offered menus and water even though they came 10 minutes after we did. We contemplated leaving when the woman that cleaned off the table put menus down on a empty table near us, but still handed us none. (???) Finally a kind busser came over and gave us menus and water. (Thank you.) After this we never had just one waiter, just different people bringing us things. Food was good but service was poop. Not coming back for a while. Contemplated not leaving a tip but hopefully the busser gets the money. Just getting us menus and water was more than anyone else did. read more

We have been visitng this place occasionally for many years and the food and service was originally great several years ago, but has crept downhill each time. This was hardly preparation for the awful meltdown experience that I had with my significant other last week. We waited 25 minutes for water, with the waitress practically jogging around the place from table to table with no assistance from anyone in any vital function. When our meals came the breakfast potatoes were rancid--just inedible and never should have been served to anyone. We noticed that other diners left their potatoes too This is an I will never come back type of situation and the more crowded the place became the worse the service seemed to become.It is so regrettable to see service in such a state here. read more

I know this restaurant has been in existence for a long time, but frankly I don't know how. I've been to this place in the past and the food was always mediocre and the service poor, but we needed to eat in the area so I gave it one more try. What a mistake- just terrible. First of all there were some sort of tiny flying insects all over the place, and we felt like we were attacked when the food finally arrived. The wait staff was apathetic at best and it took forever for someone to come over to take our order. We waited quite a while for our food as well and when it did come only two of us were served, while the third person sat there for at least 5 minutes longer with no food. The eggs Benedict tasted ok, but the hollandaise sauce was lumpy and unappealing to the eye. In addition we ordered a side of bacon (which was beyond burnt) and a side of sausage which showed up at the end of the meal. No apology from the waiter and then he charged us anyway for the sausage. I joined yelp because of the experience we had this morning. We arrived just before 8:30 the restaurant was crowded which was expected for Father's Day. First of all there were no signs or anyone greeting us at the door regarding seating (should have been the first clue), after waiting for about five minutes in the doorway my husband asked one of the workers (not sure of his role) if it was seat yourself or what we should do. The man mumbled something and walked away. Eventually another younger man who had walked passed us at least five times prior took our name down on a list that clearly had one name in front of us (we thought well the food looked good and maybe we caught them at a bad time). This was our second clue but we decided to wait since we saw tables clearing out and we were second on the list and we had already invested at least 15 minutes into getting a table. Then the couple in front of us was seated three in their group just like ours. So great we thought we are next as we were second on the list...WRONG. At some point while we were waiting with our two year old a waitress received two phone calls from people calling ahead and had insisted they be out on the top of the list (what the heck). So when a table opened for three we were so excited but our name was not called, we were not acknowledged. I was shocked so I asked ("excuse me we were waiting and second on the list" to which the younger man replied by not making eye contact just pointed to his list and saying "sorry there are two groups in front of you".) The list he displayed magically did have two names before ours but they were clearly added after as he had to scribble them in the the small space between the family that was in front of us and our name. Then the young man just walked away and we WALKED OUT! I never walk out, I'm not one to complain but by 915 no table, poor service, and a complete disregard for our time meant there was no way I was paying this establishment for anything. So no I can't speak for the food, but the service was dismal at best. It ruined our morning by the end we had a cranky toddler, two very hungry parents, and because we left by 915 every other breakfast location was packed (which left us going to Starbucks and trying to make the best of it). read more

Had a egg beater omelet with all veggies simply marvelous. Blueberry muffin baked fresh. Party of five everyone really enjoyed the meal. Keep up the excellent work. NOT IMPRESSED - We walk in Nyack often on the weekends and see the people waiting in front of this place. We have looked it up and thought that we would have to try it. Yesterday was the day. We were told it would be a 20 minute wait and it was that or maybe less. Place is small with a few tables outside on the sidewalk where people stand and watch you eat. Open for Breakfast and Lunch I would expect that they would knock it out of the park and we felt it was just average. I had the Eggs Benedict and my wife the Eggs Florentine. Place is extremely busy and the wait for food was long and felt like eternity. It used up more of the day than I expected. Oh i also have to add that there was an old stove i believe it was with an antique coffee maker and sausage maker that had two years worth of dust sitting on top of them. Thankfully they were not in use and the there was nothing sitting near it but napkins and condiments. Happy to say we have checked this off the list. read more

wow. next time i have the chance, im going back here. great food. the specials were outstanding. the waitress was super nice. for 7 of us eating and drinking coffee,,,,it was only 50 bucks!!! wow. oh, and its on the cutest little street with the nicest shops to browse while digesting. read more
