Solid place for tacos and Mexican food in the Sunset. My friend and I walked here for a late lunch after hanging out at Golden Gate Park and it was still pretty busy even at off hours. Service was good. We both got agua fresca and tacos--I loved the horchata. It was creamy and sweet and flavorful. What made Street Taco stand out to me was the free chips and salsa! That used to be more common! I enjoyed my Shrimp tacos. They were fresh, spicy, and grilled nicely. Prices are reasonable and portions are good. Will be back. Good location in the Sunset, love the open windows and ambiance.

    Regular Burrito with Carne Asada

On a weekday night, most people were getting their tacos, burritos, etc. to go, but my friend and decided to eat in in their upstairs area. I tried their burrito with carne asada with my choice of black beans, and it was ready downstairs in around 5 minutes. For the price, the portion size was more than decent! My burrito came with chips and sauce on the side, and I loved the tenderness and juiciness of the carne asada. The salsa & beans & other ingredients tasted fresh.

Can't believe it took me this long to try out this place! It used to be La Fonda, so it totally gave me the same vibes. I do wonder if it's ran by the same people just rebranded. The chips and salsa tasted pretty close and how they wrap it in the bag was the same as they did when it was La Fonda. Either way, the tacos were so big and so good! They did hot skimp on the meat and toppings! I was full after the two. You also get complimentary chips and salsa which is perfect to help you scoop up the toppings! I had the Al pastor and carne asada and it was so good! Flavorful and soft! Would totally come here again. Topped it off with a pineapple fresca and it was perfect!

One of my daughter's favorite burrito is their carne asada, so we came here for a pick-up order. Service was fast and efficient. The place was spotless, but had that cleaning agent smell my sensitive nose cannot take.

    Hair in the burrito

It's always tough when a long-time neighborhood favorite misses the mark, especially when it's been a reliable go-to spot. I've enjoyed the food at Street Taco, but my most recent visit was unfortunately pretty disheartening. While it was a yummy burrito, I found a hair in my burrito. When I brought it to the staff's attention, the interaction felt quite dismissive. Perhaps there may have been a language barrier involved, but the initial response was that the hair wasn't visible, followed by a claim that no one working had short hair. It was only after I physically pulled the hair out and started to take a photo of the burrito that the staff offered an apology. On top of that, there were a few unexpected changes to the experience. I was informed that they charge $0.50 for green salsa something I've never been informed of or charged for previously. and my "super burrito" didn't come with the side of chips that usually accompanied my orders in the past. I'm a big believer in second chances, but after being a loyal customer for so long, this specific experience was really off-putting. It's going to take some time before I feel ready to head back

Not the worst tacos! Their al pastor is decent if you need a quick craving filled. Folks there are friendly. Very generous with the servings, the tacos kind of disintegrate if you don't eat them quickly enough.

Less than a year after my review of La Fonda surviving through all these years, it closed. That's happening with far too many longtime restaurants I've reviewed in the past few years (the John S. version of the announcer's curse?). The San Francisco Street Taco empire continues to grow. By my count, there are four locations now. I really doubt I'll ever go to the SoMa one, but Potrero Hill? Maybe? Right, back to Irving Street. Its menu is identical to Haight Street, but because its space is smaller, it feels more efficient. It isn't more efficient, but there are fewer places to sit, and some of those are upstairs, so you will notice or at least be more aware of people ordering to go. With Gordo and Underdogs a quick walk away on 9th Avenue, this place doesn't really serve any real purpose for me. Even if I wanted to take it to go and eat in Golden Gate Park, those other two places are better and closer to the park. The people here are very nice, and I like how they changed the color scheme inside this space, although it still reminds me--and probably always will remind me--of La Fonda.

I just found one of my new favorite taco places! My friends and I were craving some tacos after a nice day at the beach. This place unfortunately does not have any taco Tuesday deals but their tacos are priced decently for SF pricing. One order of tacos comes with two fairly large tacos for $11. I love that it's $11 no matter what kind of meat you select. Each taco comes with lots of meat on top making it good value. Also every order comes with complimentary chips and salsa which was nice! My friends and I shared 5 orders of tacos, 2 orders of fish, 1 order of shrimp, 1 order of carne asada, and 1 order of carnitas. All of the meats were juicy and tender, not dry at all and packed with flavor. I initially thought 2 tacos per order was little but once we got our food, we understood why it was only 2.

Solid addition to the Inner Sunset. Perfect when you need a quick bite or if you're tired of nearby Gordo's or Underdogs. As for their meats, I find the al pastor to be their best option.

Honest Review: This burrito is amazing The asada was perfectly cooked and seasoned, The burrito had the correct proportion of rice, bean and Guacamole to Meat ratio. This is the first time in a year I can honestly say I found a good Mexican food place. The service was friendly and fast, the ambience is open and clean. I will return, for more delicious burritos!

Fast and friendly service, relatively generous portions, and tasty tacos, wish I'd given them a chance sooner.

Fast and friendly service, relatively generous portions, and tasty tacos in good tortillas. Glad they're in the neighborhood.

Ordered the super burrito, refried beams with al pastor. Best I've ever had, from the tortilla all the way through.

For once in my life, I was forced to eat like a civilized man. On the outside, everything looked normal, but in the inside it was anything but normal: I had to open my third eye center so that I could ascend my primal instinct of going to town on this burrito. Equipped with a knife, I sawed thru that behemoth methodically - too fast and she would burst open, too slow & she would give me the cold side eye. I am the burrito slayer. Cash only, was very very well priced for the size (about $13. Receipt didn't make it out alive).

I have dined here many times in the past, and this is a cash-only restaurant. I ordered the Regular Burrito with Beef Steak ($10.25). The regular burrito comes with a flour tortilla, rice, beans, salsa, onions, and cilantro, plus your choice of meat or vegetarian. Meat choices listed on the menu: * Al Pastor - Marinated Pork * Carnitas - Deep Fried Pork * Chile Verde - Pork Green Sauce * Chorizo - Mexican Sausage * Carne Asada - Steak * Lengua - Beef Tongue * Pollo - Chicken * Cabeza - Beef Head * Tripas - Intestines I asked the cashier which meat was most popular, and he recommended the beef steak, which had a slight hint of spiciness. The burrito came with pinto beans and rice. I forgot to ask if I could substitute black beans. The burrito wasn't too salty, and the beef steak was just okay. I also think the $10.25 Carne Asada burrito is a good deal. At other taquerias, carne asada is often an additional charge or the burrito costs more when you choose steak. I usually ask for a receipt even when paying cash. When I checked my receipt, I noticed I was charged an additional $0.25 for "Bolsa To Go" (bag) even though I was dining in and didn't receive a to-go bag. It's not about the $0.25, but I think it's important for a business to have integrity and charge customers only for what they actually receive. I hope this isn't something being charged to other dine-in customers as well. Overall, I would come back to try a different meat, but next time I'll make sure to clearly say dine-in and check my receipt to make sure I wasn't charged for a to-go bag.

I got my food about 10 mins after ordering. I went with what was popular. The Dorada (toasted) super carne asada burrito was great, but I wish it was more toasty. It was softer than it looked and I assumed that was because they are frying it in lard ? But overall solid and great burrito. I thought the tacos are slept on here. We came here on a random Thursday at 3 pm and surprisingly, the line still almost reached the end of the block. Luckily, the line moves pretty quickly and the food is solid, but be prepared to wait for a bit. My favorite meats here are the cabeza and the lengua. The cabeza is super fatty and tender and has the amazing shreddy quality of a slow cooked meat. It had the soft melty texture of collagen and was super delicious. The lengua is also really good. It was super tender and soft and had the distinct taste of beef tongue but wasn't too overpowering. The carne asada and carnitas had a good flavor but were a little bit dry for me. I think they would be better in a super taco or burrito where you have the extra fat from the cheese and avocado. My only complaint about this place is the price. I realize that everything in SF is expensive, but over $5 for a single taco and almost $9 for a single super taco is pretty egregious. There's food trucks all over the Bay Area offering cheaper (and almost, if not, just as good) tacos in my opinion.

A lot of people mentioned about the service, the mole, and birria. I am a big fan of birria tacos so I decided to give it a try. He said that there's no reservations but he promised to secure some seats for us because the week prior they were really busy. At that point I knew that the service would be excellent. When I got there Jose and staff were super welcoming as if we've known each other for a long time. He gave 2 small plates of rice, red enchilada sauce, green enchilada sauce, mole with chicken tinga, and birria. Everything is super flavorful and authentic. It transported me to Mexico because I could taste the homemade cooking in it and the passion and love in preparing this amazing food. They take pride in the quality of their cooking. Both the chicken tinga and birria meat are tender and fresh. You can order the food at the touch screen at the counter. You can select your preference for the filling. My friend asked to separate the meat from the tortillas and separate consommé. Jose gladly accommodate her special request. Definitely above and beyond service. They provide complimentary chips and salsa. The chips are fresh and thin with 2 green sauce and two red ones. The staff warned us that the red onesie are hot. The salsa is very fresh and homemade. The mole sauce has a flavor that I can't find anywhere else. I could taste the chocolate but not very sweet. It's very unique and delicious. The red and green enchilada sauce are also phenomenal . Not too salty, yet light and packed with flavor. Their birria tacos are now one of my top ones that I've ever had. Very flavorful and not salty. Definitely recommend it.
