Can't believe it took me this long to try out this place! It used to be La Fonda, so it totally gave me the same vibes. I do wonder if it's ran by the same people just rebranded. The chips and salsa tasted pretty close and how they wrap it in the bag was the same as they did when it was La Fonda. Either way, the tacos were so big and so good! They did hot skimp on the meat and toppings! I was full after the two. You also get complimentary chips and salsa which is perfect to help you scoop up the toppings! I had the Al pastor and carne asada and it was so good! Flavorful and soft! Would totally come here again. Topped it off with a pineapple fresca and it was perfect!

    Hair in the burrito

It's always tough when a long-time neighborhood favorite misses the mark, especially when it's been a reliable go-to spot. I've enjoyed the food at Street Taco, but my most recent visit was unfortunately pretty disheartening. While it was a yummy burrito, I found a hair in my burrito. When I brought it to the staff's attention, the interaction felt quite dismissive. Perhaps there may have been a language barrier involved, but the initial response was that the hair wasn't visible, followed by a claim that no one working had short hair. It was only after I physically pulled the hair out and started to take a photo of the burrito that the staff offered an apology. On top of that, there were a few unexpected changes to the experience. I was informed that they charge $0.50 for green salsa something I've never been informed of or charged for previously. and my "super burrito" didn't come with the side of chips that usually accompanied my orders in the past. I'm a big believer in second chances, but after being a loyal customer for so long, this specific experience was really off-putting. It's going to take some time before I feel ready to head back

One of my daughter's favorite burrito is their carne asada, so we came here for a pick-up order. Service was fast and efficient. The place was spotless, but had that cleaning agent smell my sensitive nose cannot take.

Not the worst tacos! Their al pastor is decent if you need a quick craving filled. Folks there are friendly. Very generous with the servings, the tacos kind of disintegrate if you don't eat them quickly enough.

Less than a year after my review of La Fonda surviving through all these years, it closed. That's happening with far too many longtime restaurants I've reviewed in the past few years (the John S. version of the announcer's curse?). The San Francisco Street Taco empire continues to grow. By my count, there are four locations now. I really doubt I'll ever go to the SoMa one, but Potrero Hill? Maybe? Right, back to Irving Street. Its menu is identical to Haight Street, but because its space is smaller, it feels more efficient. It isn't more efficient, but there are fewer places to sit, and some of those are upstairs, so you will notice or at least be more aware of people ordering to go. With Gordo and Underdogs a quick walk away on 9th Avenue, this place doesn't really serve any real purpose for me. Even if I wanted to take it to go and eat in Golden Gate Park, those other two places are better and closer to the park. The people here are very nice, and I like how they changed the color scheme inside this space, although it still reminds me--and probably always will remind me--of La Fonda.

I just found one of my new favorite taco places! My friends and I were craving some tacos after a nice day at the beach. This place unfortunately does not have any taco Tuesday deals but their tacos are priced decently for SF pricing. One order of tacos comes with two fairly large tacos for $11. I love that it's $11 no matter what kind of meat you select. Each taco comes with lots of meat on top making it good value. Also every order comes with complimentary chips and salsa which was nice! My friends and I shared 5 orders of tacos, 2 orders of fish, 1 order of shrimp, 1 order of carne asada, and 1 order of carnitas. All of the meats were juicy and tender, not dry at all and packed with flavor. I initially thought 2 tacos per order was little but once we got our food, we understood why it was only 2.

Solid addition to the Inner Sunset. Perfect when you need a quick bite or if you're tired of nearby Gordo's or Underdogs. As for their meats, I find the al pastor to be their best option.

Honest Review: This burrito is amazing The asada was perfectly cooked and seasoned, The burrito had the correct proportion of rice, bean and Guacamole to Meat ratio. This is the first time in a year I can honestly say I found a good Mexican food place. The service was friendly and fast, the ambience is open and clean. I will return, for more delicious burritos!

Fast and friendly service, relatively generous portions, and tasty tacos, wish I'd given them a chance sooner.

Fast and friendly service, relatively generous portions, and tasty tacos in good tortillas. Glad they're in the neighborhood.

So great! Had the regular burrito with carne asada. Fresh ingredients and quick. One of the best burritos I've had.

Ok food. Service is a little slow. Prices are high. Seating is limited. I'll stick with Gordo's.

While I can say the staff was friendly and the service was good, I honestly don't think it lives up to the hype. In my opinion, it's become more of a tourist destination than a must-visit local taqueria. The food was decent, but there are several nearby places that offer better-tasting tacos and burritos for less money--and without the long wait. I'm glad I gave it a try, but I probably wouldn't go back. If you're visiting San Francisco, it's worth knowing there are plenty of excellent local taquerias that provide better value.

For two carne asada tacos and an al pastor quesadilla, they charged us $25. No idea what the cost breakdown is since they don't have a menu lol Service was prompt and friendly. They have pickled onions with sliced habaneros and a few different salsas. I like the red salsa, creamy green one (kinda spicy), and the creamy habanero (very spicy). The tacos were good. Pretty decent amount of meat. The quesadilla was also good with a decent ratio of cheese and meat. I thought the al pastor was missing that typical strong savory-sweet flavor though. They also added pineapple in the quesadilla. There are a lot of options in the area but this place is worth a try.
