Came here for a team lunch and the food was great! I'm from SoCal so I've had mixed luck at Mexican spots outside of LA/SD. But the burrito I had here was solid: from the salsa and chips included to the pillow-y soft burrito bursting with flavor. I like that they had different bean options so you could do pinto if you're trying to be slightly healthier hahaha. Staff running this place are super helpful, but the bathroom didn't have a lock when I went so i literally had to hold the door closed while I used it lol. Best taco place this side of the border. Well in SoMa for sure. I have been going here since at least 2019 and this place is amazing. From the breakfast burrito, to the quesadillas, the tacos, the wide arrange of burrito options and the offering of proteins is absolutely amazing. Also the Agua Fresca is always a crowd pleaser. I have been get the fish tacos which are lightly grilled tilapia. I have had it twice now and it is nothing short of amazing! They offer a variety of salsas and offer jalapeños on request. They offer chips with every meal even with there incredible nachos. They have black beans as well as my favorite refried beans! Don't walk drum to this place at lunch hour cause all the locals can crowd it. Always like this place went here before the pandemic and obviously they got hit hard during the pandemic and even after with all the things on market Street it would filter down the Ninth at Mission. The area is cleaned up during the daytime and there's still a few stragglers, but I went in for a late lunch and had my two Carne Asada tacos, handmade tortillas. The meat was cooked and not shrink wrapped and overcooked and dry but perfectly moist and juicy and tasty. If you haven't had a street bowl before, and you're a person who likes fried stuff, you absolutely must try it. It's a crispy savory shell with whatever else you typically have in a Mexican bowl in it. My regular order is a street bowl with shrimp black beans, spicy. It's not crazy spicy just regular spicy. And they cook the shrimp up fresh right when you order it. Yum. While most people who come here seem to just get takeout, there are a handful of tables and bar seats if you want to maximize the freshness of your experience. Finally tried this location. I had been getting mixed reviews from coworkers so I wanted to review it for myself. Although there are some loiterers around, they did not bother myself or anyone. The location id sorrounded by apartment's and offices, so people will visit for lunch. The inside is a bit small, which I am complete okay with. The staff was very friendly and gave some recommendations. I talked to them in Spanish so not sure how their English is. I got a Veggie Burrito. I must have had low expectations because I was real impressed with my first bite. The veggies were grilled nicely and the burrito was a descent size. That said, when I finished I did feel like I have eaten better Veggie burritos elsewhere. In the end I still give it 4/5. read more

At first, I thought about maybe getting a burrito, but it's called Street Taco, so guess what I had to get? Then I had to figure what proteins I wanted - which understandably may sound trivial but when you are limited to two choices, it really is of paramount importance to select the right ones. My first choice was pollo since it looked like it had been freshly cooked. Solid. And for my second choice, I asked the cashier. Without hesitation, she said, Al Pastor. Either a) she really believed in the pastor or b) they were just pushing the pastor. Fortunately, it was the former and pastor was tasty, tender, and helped to make for one good taco. Tacos are made with fresh made tortillas and topped with onions, cilantro and salsa. Excellent. My one qualm was that there was no way one tortilla could ever hold the amount of generous proteins they piled on each taco - and I was right. But I found a fork and was able to finish my meal. Chips were a nice surprise - thicker tortilla chip that was crisp and light and so good with red salsa. Overall, the tacos at Street Taco are a must try. When in a new place with a limited time to eat lunch, it's best to ask a new friend. Street Taco ended up being a great place for Mexican food without the wait or a far walk. Street Taco is around the corner for the Twitter building in downtown San Francisco. The store is very clean and small; they prefer credit cards. Service is made-to-order but very fast, which helps turnover on the limited seating. They have free water at the back. The one big draw is the fresh salsa bar; you can have as many varieties and quantity as you'd like. I had the full size burrito, which was jam packed with good quality steak and fresh vegetables. Looks like Street Taco is going to be SF's next taqueria chain following in the steps of places like el farolito and stuff. I think they're pretty solid and go to the haight one kinda regularly. I had a shrimp one from this location recently and the shrimp were nice and plump. It's probably the best taqueria in this area (though I might like Cazadores more, but it's not that close geographically). read more

Al pastor is my favorite protein option and unfortunately this fell short. It was pretty tough and lacked some flavoring. Overall, it's ok. Tasted fresh because of the guacamole, but for $15 it fell short. I had to add lots of lime and salsa and I was hoping I would get that sweet, moist and flavorful pastor that I am used to. So the drawing card obviously wasn't the name but what did bring me in was the logo of the Mexico City DF cab. My coworkers and I stopped here for lunch in the middle of a work training on Market. We were looking for cheap eats and settled upon here. Personally, I didn't find this place well priced at all, but that's because I live in the Oakland area. I'm guessing because this place is right off Market by the BOSE building, they can up their prices to no complaints. I got a super burrito with carnitas expecting a massive burrito to come out. It wasn't massive, but it was pretty heavy and dense. When I took a bite, I was a little disappointed. It was bland and I didn't really notice the "super" part of my burrito. There was 1 piece of lettuce and a stingy amount of the other super toppings. It was just a meh burrito. Not the worst, but far from what I expected. There are way better places to eat. This is definitely my go-to spot for lunch when I'm in the Civic Center Area. Those rare occasions when I party too hard the night before and have no time to make my lunch in the morning(s) before work; Street Taco has saved my life each and every time. The service is amazing and they offer a wide variety of options (see menu). I tend to always get the tacos. Each order comes with two massive tacos, chips and some delicious salsa on the side. Don't be shy... ask for an extra salsa. I prefer the spicy. On the days I'm feeling a little sluggish and may or may not have missed my last two workouts I get the "street bowl" and kindly ask them to hold the tostada. Turns into a nice little taco salad that I can be proud of myself for ordering. A major plus is they have two TV's that often times plays the latest fútbol games. When there are no games on they air the news. It's a nice opportunity for you to stay up to date on current affairs. Tacos and taquerias basically run in my bloodline, but this place doesn't really do it for me unfortunately. Although the service is great, their selection of meat lacks a bit of flavor for me. My go-to order is always their tacos with carne asada and al pastor. The al pastor usually has a nice kick of flavor to it, but I personally think the carne asada can use a tad bit more seasoning. With that being said, their service is always quick and the food is made to order so it's super fresh. If you're around the area and craving tacos, this is the spot for you. Granted, I haven't explored all of their menu yet so I am sure they have so much more to offer. Overall, my experience here was quite pleasant and the tacos definitely filled me up! Heard good things about this place and it's so conveniently close to me, so had to try it out. It definitely didn't disappoint! My bf and I both tried the carne asada, al pastor, and chorizo/pork tacos with some chips & guacamole. We don't eat much dairy at all, so it's nice to know the guacamole doesn't have any dairy in it! However, it did lack flavor, I think it would've been better with some more salt and/or lemon. The tacos were really good! The meat wasn't dry and they use one tortilla per taco (some restaurants use 2 tortillas per taco). My favorites from most to least fave would be: chorizo/pork, al pastor, then carne asada. I wish I had some tapatio to go with my food hehe but overall I enjoyed my meal and would go again :) read more

Not bad. Solid 3.5 stars, I think this spot is pretty good for what it is. I wouldn't ever drive here (since it is the civic center, but they have other locations would def recommend those spots if you're looking for parking) but it's conveniently near my work area. Food is pretty good but kind pricey for what it is! Around 10$ for a bowl or burrito, but it comes pretty packed. I've tried the street bowl with the carne asada and it was pretty loaded with meat and toppings! My coworker got the mix of beef and pork, but I definitely recommend the Pork because it's so tasty and has a touch of spice. Theres also tons of guac, which is a plus and the bowl itself is delicious and crunchy. (Take a look at the pics!) As I had alluded to in a previous review, this is one of my favorite lunch spots in this area. The line can get very long (which leaves you waiting outside) but it goes rather quickly and once you order the food comes out quickly. To be honest the place definitely grew on me over a group of visits. I would say the prices are moderate to high (for San Francisco) but the quality is top notch. My favorite item is the carne asada street burrito. The street burrito is unique because it has no rice or beans. It's very close to just meat wrapped up in a tortilla. The tortilla is delicious and the carne asada addicting! One recommendation I would make is to offer a bowl that doesn't include a tortilla/tostada if someone is looking for a lower carb option. My only real qualm which I mentioned to the super nice proprietor is that it's a bit expensive for the portion size. Recommendations: give a little rice and beans on the side, double up the tortillas as they fall apart under the weight of the fixins. Also, shrimp is a $1 buck more, but not listed on the menu, want the customers to feel they've got the facts. This is store no. 2 with no. 3 about to pop up around the corner in the financial district... could be a hit with some slight mods and making sure customers aren't left feeling a little hungry or slighted on the quantity.
