    Pollo Asado Burrito
    Lon H.

Been here a couple of times and I've ordered a burrito each time. Heck, how can you go wrong with a $7 burrito? There are several places to get a good burrito in SOMA and when I'm in the mood to walk-up 2nd Street, I take the opportunity to get some cardio in too. I normally come by after the main lunch crowd has already devoured their food and I've found coming by after 1pm is a good time to avoid the long lines. The burrito's are not the "phat" type, but rather wrapped really tightly and they're longer than most other burritos. I enjoy how all the ingredients are neatly tucked inside the burrito, versus some places that loosely wrap their burritos and everything falls-out. I usually get mine with some type of meat and have liked their carne asada, carnitas and pollo asado, black beans and ask for it spicy. I like how their spicy salsa has a kick, but isn't blazin' hot. I also like that you're not overly stuffed when you've finished your meal. I don't like being in a food coma after lunch with my head slumped-down onto my keyboard. If you're in the mood, feel free to add guacamole or sour cream. Either way, you're not going to break the bank.

I've been coming to this spot once a week for about a year now. The food is delicious and definitely authentic. I've had everything on the menu. Prices are around what you'd expect for SOMA but really not bad. Slightly lower than most places around here honestly. $3 tacos and $8 burritos. The staff is always super friendly. Food can sometimes take awhile but overall it's relatively speedy during lunch rush. I'm surprised this place only has 3.5 stars honestly.

    Three tacos for $4.50...good deal

*sigh* the only taco truck around work and they take 5 minutes to make me 3 tacos. Granted it was only $4.50 for 3 tacos....and any tacos from the taco truck is better than tacos from Yo Quiero Taco Bell. I ordered 3 Al Pastor tacos and was able to play a few rounds of Angry Birds waiting for my food to be ready. It's also very odd when they hand you a card with a number so they can call your number when it's ready. Wow....i'm #85. They just called #79....argh! After getting my tacos...I realize that they are super oily. It is NOT juice or sauce fellas! It's OIL.....doh! Chow down the tacos and felt kind of weezy and to be honest...the tacos are just ok. *sigh* The only taco truck around work =(

I'm a burrito fiend. And if my waistline permitted, if have them for every meal. And Los Campadres is where I'd have must of meals, in this ideal world. I had the carnitas (fried pork) burrito with pico de gallo. And it was excellent. The tortilla was soft and yet but overly chewy. The fried pork was good enough to be eaten and its own. And the salsa was hot, but not scalding, and did not overpower the flavour of the rest of the ingredients. Everything just came together perfectly. Probably the best burrito I've had on the US. They have other stuff too: like tacos and quesadillas, which I hear are excellent. But it'll be impossible for me to not have the burrito every time I come here.

Great pork tacos. The lady was supper nice and I absolutely love the Cilantro Verde mix. They worked the mild mix into the pork so it was full of flavor. I would have liked it if they didn't have a two taco minimum.

I usually come for lunch to have their tacos al pastor and carnitas. Some of the best in the city if you ask me. Their burritos are bomb as well! Taco: $3.00 Burrito $7.00 Quesadilla $7.00

Being a native Bay Area person, I always heard about the burrito wars in San Francisco's Mission…read moreDistrict. Over the years I've found myself drawn to the other contender in the Mission way more than El Farolito, so I decided it was time to head back to try this legendary burrito shop. Getting to this location is super simple as we took BART and got off at the 24th Street Mission BART station and from there it's a very short walk of less than a block to get to El Farolito. Walking into the shop one is just slapped in the face with the beautiful smells of the carne asada cooking on the grill right by the door-it's wonderful. It's a modest place that you can definitely tell was built many years ago,so no overly modern amenities-this place cares about the food, not the ambiance. We ended up going with a couple of super burritos of Carne Asada ($11.25) & a regular burrito of Al Pastor($10.25) & also added two tacos one with Al Pastor and one with Carne Asada($4.75) They had beers at $4.75-so we grabbed a couple of Modelos. First the tacos-they were just ok,the tacos were crunchy and I don't know kind of gave Taco Bell vibes. Burritos though-that's a whole different animal. The burrito was so well made from the chew of the tortilla to the seasoning of the carne asada to the perfect balance and mix of all the other ingredients.I judge a burrito harshly if the mix isn't right and you don't get every ingredient in every bite and the mix at El Farolito was flawless. The price point was pretty impressive as well. In closing, El Farolito has always been in the mix as one of the top burrito spots in the Mission, and I can say with confidence that it's in my Top 2 in San Francisco currently. It's an incredible burrito and a true "must-visit" spot when visiting San Francisco. P.S. Just a slight heads up when visiting , it's not the safest neighborhood in the world, so just keep your head up when visiting-this is a place one visits for the food experience not the ambiance.

Even my picky eater, who wouldn't normally choose anything but meat and cheese, ate his as they come. The line here was long, but moved surprisingly fast, and our orders were still good and hot when we got back to our hotel. Street parking is a beast, just like anywhere else in this city. If I was looking to pack on several pounds, I'd eat here every day.
