Wow! What a surprise! A large group of us (21) were in Lodi for a wedding and were looking for a place that would accommodate all of us. We called several places and luckily, Strings was the only on willing to take such a large group. I could write forever about the great service provided by Melissa, our server. A large part of our group was from NYC. If you know New Yorkers (no insult intended), the are quite brash, but they also know good Italian food. The food was brought quickly, correct to the last plate and with great presentation. We needless to say, stayed until way past closing time, they patiently waited for us to leave. My family & I went to Strings for family pasta night (Wednesday). They offer an all you can eat pasta dinner (with soup or salad) for $9.00. Our server greeted us pretty quickly. Since we have been here several times, we ordered right away. My husband & I both ordered Spaghetti; he chose marinara sauce & I chose meat sauce. We also ordered a kids meal (spaghetti w/ marinara sauce) for our son. Our server brought our food & drinks right out. The salad was more than enough for the 3 of us to share and their bread is delicious. I was surprised at the quantity. My husband's plate was full to the rim with spaghetti, my plate was only 2/3 full and my son's plate was so small that it kind of caught me off guard. Although we order the all you can eat dinner, we have never been hungry enough to ask for seconds. We typically take the leftover spaghetti home to have the next night (you can only take leftovers home if you order one plate. If you request seconds, they don't allow you to take the extra to go). My husband had enough to make a second meal but my son and I did not. My husband asked if we could have another piece or two of bread to take home and for the first time ever we were told that we could have one piece of bread free but additional pieces were $1.20 each. I thought this was very odd. Like I mentioned earlier, we have been coming on Wednesday nights for years and this was the first time we have ever been told that there is an extra charge for bread. We ended up ordering two pieces of bread to go. I am sure the next time we go to family night, we'll hoard more of the bread during dinner so we have enough for the three of us to take home to enjoy with our leftovers. read more

Service is good, food is great with nice portion sizes. Salad is served family style with a unique and tasty house dressing. Bread is good and served before meal. While the food was good the service was a little slow. The main problem is that it was hotter than heck in the resturant. Yes I know it was hot outside but it was at least 85 in the resturant maybe even 90 degrees. We saw several people leave once they entered and felt how hot it was..... the only good thing on their menu is the bottomless salad and bread. but you have to ask for them to go light on the dressing because i have experienced it just dripping in dressing and then it's just wasted lettuce. their calazone aren't bad. and now that i think about it my mom has shared her chicken parmesan with me before and that was pretty good. read more

Me and my mom went into the restaurant and the hostess and the waitress was very rude telling us we can not sit in the booth because it wasn't clean and one of the waitresses named Sierra was talking to one of the other waitresses and was talking behind our back laughing commenting about my weight and saying that we were fat. The hostess was sweet and immediately sat my friend and I at our table. We ordered water and looked at our menu. A minute later, this dog that was wearing its own Strings uniform came out with a bowl of water in his mouth! He sat it on the ground next us and then stared up at us. I came here for lunch yesterday with my 16 month old and my mom. I haven't been here in many, many, MANY years.. So I wasn't sure what to expect. We walked in And was shown to our seats. The hostess brought us a high chair and menus (but didn't bring us a child's menu, no worries we got it from our server). We decided to split two of the lunch specials and I got my son the Mac and cheese ( which he loved). The meal started with complimentary garlic bread which was delish, and salad came with the lunch specials (which is just as tasty as I remembered). My mom and I split the Shrimp scampi, which was good but not fabulous.. And another dish I can't quite remember the name of. Something Milano??? Well that one was amazing!! Artichoke hearts and mushrooms with sun dried tomatoes and Gorgonzola on top.. Yum! All in all I was very pleasantly surprised.. Although our server could have been a bit more friendly and attentive we had a very nice lunch:) read more

We had a great lunch last Sunday. When we walked in it smelled so good! I know it's a chain but the food is delicious! We had ravioli with Alfredo and meat sauce, zoodles (zucchini noodles with marinara and veggies ) and spaghetti with sausage and meatballs. The soup and salad were delicious and I love their bread. Not the best. I came here a couple years ago and the chicken Parmesan was delightful but it seems as though that's changed. I'm not sure if there's a different chef but the food was bland. My chicken Parmesan was ok. I could've done better in my opinion and the Alfredo pasta sauce had no flavor to it. You could tell that they probably just opened a store bought jar of Alfredo and dumped it on top of the pasta. I couldn't even eat it and Alfredo isn't too difficult to make, they could've at least seasoned it. The only thing I would say that I liked was the fact that they carried coke products. This place is my all time favorite, no question. I've tried other Strings Italian Restaurants located in the area and none of them are as good as the one on Kettleman Lane. Customer Service is always phenomenal, food always tastes amazing, and overall just a great environment. Went in for lunch with a groupon. 1st time there. Wasn't very busy yet main dish was brought out warm less than 5 mim after salads arrived. Waitress was not friendly. Acted put out to be there. Stale garlic bread and lasagna had an oil slick on top. Dug into the lasagna and couldn't tell when it was made and if it was a potato dish or noodles. There was no noodles just white mush. Interesting to find olives cook in the lasagna as well. Left the entire dish and waitress said nothing. Extremely disappointed. Will not give them another try. read more

Good value for the money. We were looking for a decent meal in Lodi and enjoyed what we ordered here. Food tasted fresh and seemed reasonably healthy, depending on what you eat. We had the artichoke ravioli and the scampi and both were tasty. Ask for only 1/4 to 1/2 the usual amount of salad dressing on the house salad; it was very heavily dressed. Service was very quick and efficient. Delicious tiramisu for dessert; we had the server leave off the optional chocolate drizzle and whipped cream and it was perfect - rich, but not too sweet! read more

What is happening with this restaurant. It had been some time since we've been here but it will be even longer the next go around if they don't get it together. Saturday night and the restaurant was 1/2 empty and now I know why. The service was less than desirable. The food were smaller portions than I remembered but was also mediocre...all 3 meals that our party ordered. With the plastic tablecloths and paper napkins the prices are too high! Next time my choice will be Pietro's, which has everything Strings lacks! So disappointing!! read more

Best Italian food I've had in a long time. We had the stuffed shells and a baked lasagna meatball combo. The sauce on the shells was amazing, a lighter sauce that wasn't just tomatoey like most places.
