DO NOT GET YOUR LASHES DONE HERE! I am absolutely horrified. I went in to get my lashes done and, though their service was good, the job they did was absolutely awful. Firstly it was incredibly uneven for the start I ask them to try and fix the issue and, after a quick attempt I knew that the damage was done. The lashes were cheap and immediately started falling out. A few days after I took a warm shower. I wasn't a hot shower, but the steam some cause the lashes to melt together, making an already botched job into a complete nightmare. Within less than a week nearly half of the lashes fell out and I took it upon myself to get the rest removed. I never make these reviews, but I started a yelp account solely to save someone from the same fate. DO NOT GET YOUR LASHES DONE HERE!! read more

I have been coming here to get my hair cut and trimmed by Lena since 2011. She is wonderful, always listening to everything I ask for. She also does my hair color for me. I am always very please with my hair cuts from Lena. I recommend her to my family and friends. She also cuts kids and men's hair very well. My husband and son will only go to Lena to get their hair cuts. She is very helpful, friendly honest and very professional. I will continue to come to Lena to get my hair cuts. One of the gifts happened to be a gift card to get my hair done at Studio 8 Salon. I was super excited to see this because I've been getting my brows done by a lovely lady named Lena for a while now. I get really nervous when getting my hair done because I've had bad experiences before, so I took a few pictures to show Lena exactly what I wanted. I swear I asked her like 5 times can you do this? Each time she replied; yes with confidence. The time came to wash out my hair and let me tell you she washed it really good. And at the last minute I had asked her to straighten my hair, she was not bothered at all at my last minute decision. At this point its 7:30pm time to close the shop and she kept it so professional I think I was the one apologizing for having her stay late. Lena told me it's not a problem at all; she wants to make sure all her clients are happy and satisfied. Then she finished my hair all I could say was WOW! I was so impressed; she was spot on with the look I asked for. I couldn't thank her enough I mean my hair looked amazing. When I went to work the next day I had so many compliments on how beautify my hair looked I swear everyone loved the new look. Thank you so much Lena I REALLY LOVE my hair. I received a Studio 8 Salon promotional card from my husband during Christmas as a gift and when I walked in, they told me I have to make an appointment two weeks in advance. After the lady told me, she walked away to help a walk-in client and ignored me. Super rude! When I looked at the card, it specifically states at least one week, which is different from what they told me. On top of that, they said I can only schedule for Monday and Tuesday! No where does the card state that. I work Monday through Friday, and live on the other side of town.. there's no way I will ever be able to use this gift my husband got me, how sad. Rude people, tells you information that is not disclosed on their promotional card, the owner was just sitting there on her phone and didn't care about giving good customer service. Studio 8 is a perfect example of how a salon should be. This salon is extremely clean, and fresh. The atmosphere is very professional and homey at the same time. I've lived in Elk Grove for about 20 years. I had been getting my hair cut from someone on Elk Grove Blvd. (Don't need to mention any names) until I met Vicky last year. Vicky and her staff are always full of energy and smiles. Great music, free water bottle and best of all awesome hair cuts. Vicky and her staff are always very helpful, knowledgable and they not only recommend product to you. They also tell you how to apply it. Both of my sons 10 & 12 also get hair cuts from Vicky and her staff. I had Vicky color my hair for the first time last month (wait did I just give away my age ). I was very pleased with the organic product that Vicky used. Also one more thing, I got an amazing facial from Julisa. She was very gentle and took her time doing the facial. Got a great shoulder massage that almost put me to sleep. Love, love, love this salon. I would definitely recommend Studio 8 for anyone who is looking for high quality, professional hair care. I would NEVER step foot in this salon again. They burned my mom's face with wax. Then charged her and told her it's not a burn. As soon as I saw my mom I called the salon who denied a wax burn and told me to bring her in. When we went in two ladies were working on a clients hair and they had me sit there for 20 minutes before they acknowledged they would look at her face. Then they tried to say "this has never happened before, it must be her skin's fault. The health department needs to shut this place down. read more

I was introduced to Suzanne a few weeks ago and she gave me the hookup... A shave, eyebrows, and a haircut. While the experience was quite therapeutic, Suzanne is also super funny. Disappointed to say the least. I took my daughters in for a hair cut on Saturday. upon arrival I asked the OWNER how much it would be for a wash , cut & style. She said it would be $25.00 each. We agreed on this price and she began to wash my daughters' hair. Shortly after another lady arrived stated she did NOT have an appointment but wanted her hair dyed. She immediately asked her to have a seat started to talk about color etc.. (Now I wouldn't have minded this because I know she would have been able to work between my girls and his lady) however she did not even ask if I cared .. or if I was I in a rush .. which I was. But still I decided to wait it out let her do her thing after all I know we could all use the money. But then after leaving both of my daughters just sitting there for at least 30 minutes even though we were there first she decides to tell me if I want their hair curled it would be extra. Leaving me to look like the cheap mom that doesn't want to fork out the extra money for her daughters Valentines day treat in front of my kids and everyone else that was in the salon. I told her we had already discussed the price and she said she never said that. Needless to say we left unhappy and unstyled. All she did was trim it and send us on our way. Was looking for somewhere close to home that I could start using to get haircuts and highlights. Was tired of getting the bad haircuts from the other in and out haircut places. I decided to look up ratings on yelp and found this salon. I called to make an appointment and Vicky was able to get me right in within a couple hours for a haircut. Was a little skeptical upon entering, but was quickly reassured after seeing the haircut Vicky completed on a client before me. After arriving we discussed my hair and of course I needed new highlights as mine were pretty grown out. Vicky was able to accommodate me, even though they had a full salon and were busy. I was NOT disappointed when I left. Vicky did a great job on my haircut, I was impressed that it came out just the way I wanted it. The highlights were a little light, but nothing I couldn't deal with and work with. I will just ask next time to not be so light. I will be a return customer for the great haircut, service, friendliness of staff and great prices! read more

I went in for a gel manicure and upon arriving home notice that my thumbnail was missing the gel polish. I went to bed with three missing gel nails that night. The next morning I got up and showered and when I look down at my hand there were no gel nails left on either hand. I went back to the shop the next day, the manicurist promptly took me to the chair and wanted to replace the missing nails with the same gel polish. I decline the same polish so she said I will get something similar for you. She gave me a different color that I didn't asked for and didn't like, however I was on my way to an event and had to leave immediately. It was an inconvenience in the first place to have to come back and have all of my nails redone because they had fallen off. The following day I went back to let her know that I did not like the color that had been put on my nails, and was told that I needed to pay an additional $10 to get a color change. I paid $25 for the gel manicure, left a tip and had to return to be given a color that I didn't like or choose. That's a total of $35 and a lot of my time wasted. Never again!!! I brought my daughter to get a trim and an undercut today and got the grouchiest stylist who did not do what my daughter asked for! Before she sat down she explained exactly what she wanted (and I confirmed- my daughter is only 12). She first trimmed her hair.... if you call that trimming. She looked like she did not know what she was doing or just did not want to do it at all. After trimming her hair she proceeded to flat iron her, which we did not request her to do. Took her about 20 minutes to do that. After the flat iron my daughter asked her when she was going to do the undercut. At this point she must have forgotten what my daughter had requested and the reason why we came into this establishment in the first place. She must have been confused or had never done an undercut. she didn't even put the cloak on my daughter so the hair doesn't get all over her clothes. she pulled her hair back and just left the sides hanging and just shaved it. the sides are so crooked! she literally just shaved the sides and even caught some of the hairs that should not have been shaved! so that were caught are now an inch or so long. I was so upset I had to walk out and had my husband who walked in later to pay for it. $30 down the drain for an Ugly A** haircut!!!!!!! read more

DO NOT GO HERE FOR AN EYELASH PERM! It was nice of the staff to be able to fit my sister and I in the day of, we thought we got lucky. We were wrong. The lady told us it was $35 for an eyelash perm and would take 30 minutes. Awesome! IT TOOK AN HOUR AND A HALF. I was sitting with my eyes practically glue for an hour and a half. I later found out she was cutting other clients hair while I was patiently waiting. I thought I was just being impatient, but I can in at 3:30 and left at 5. The lady left me with glue all over my eyelashes and eyelids. I'm pretty sure she pulled a bunch of my right eyelashes out because my eyelashes weren't even. I tried to get a discount or anything but the staff told me no. I drove home with glue all over my eyelashes and eyelids and half of my eyelashes were stuck TO MY EYELIDS. The product was okay besides the missing lashes, but my right eyelashes fell flat after 5 days and now I have a super curled set and a flat set. Never going back. read more

I come here every time I want to do Japanese Straightening. I have extremely curly and frizzy hair. It takes me hours every morning to get ready. However after Japanese Straightening I can literally shower and go! No product, no iron, nothing! It drys silky smooth and straight! I love being able to finally run my fingers through my hair effortlessly. The process is long but totally worth it! You should expect to be there for approximately 4 hours. (I went in at 9:30am and left at about 1:30pm) The treatment is expensive but their prices still beat other salons not to mention the outcome is totally worth it! My son and I have had Vickey cut our hair for years, well before she opened Studio 8. She does a great job, doesn't rush, and charges a very reasonable price. It is a pleasant experience every time we get a haircut. I have been in her new salon, Studio 8, twice now. It is very clean and comfortable. Last time we visited it was over 100 outside, and we were offered cold bottles of water as soon as we walked in. Vickey's associate cut my son's hair and did an outstanding job. I've been going to Vicky for Japanese straightening my hair for about 2 years now even before she started her own place at studio 8 salon. She's the best and really takes care of you. She'll make sure everything is done well and as quickly as possible. She makes you feel at ease for the hours and hours you have to spend there for this process. My hair is very curly/wavy but it always comes out super straight for at least 4 months afterwards without ironing. Also, she charges less than most places! I definitely recommend her. read more

Let me start by saying. I'm just an average guy who likes getting my hair cut done right. a 2" all a way around, tapered side burns and a 1/2" around the crown. I've been going to see Tim for a while. I started going there on Sundays "Yay, they open on that day. " I got Lena, she's cut my hair twice and she's really good. She does it swiftly and effortlessly and she's in high demand. I ask her if she does nail services but decline to say so.
