Place smells funky sometimes. I only come here when they have the $5 Groupon (but if you actually want to pre-reserve your seat it's an additional $1.50). Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend going here. I recommend to buy the tickets online because you have to choose your seats ahead of time. I'm not really why they changed to this but it almost feels like a hassel. It's also a little awkward when you arrive and someone else is sitting in your seats. Maybe it's for the better and we just need to get use to it. The tickets are cheaper than other theatres but they lure you in with their food. Food's not awesome but it sure is expensive. Order a Mudslide, a burger or crispy chicken tenders. Quesadillas are alright too. Nothing spectacular honestly. Sometimes when you walk into the movie theatre area or near the kitchen, you smell the "old dirty rag" smell. It's quiet displeasing. I've lived in San Marcos and San Antonio for some time before moving up here so I'm a bit spoiled by the Alamo Drafthouse; the leader, innovator, and creator in my mind of this new "fine dining with your movie" movement that's striking the nation. So when I heard there was a theatre up here offering something to fill that void in my life, I was willing to give it a shot. My girlfriend and I came here because I found a great groupon deal: dinnner and a non-alcoholic drink for $6. Can't beat that! So we decided to try it out and break out of our early bird/old person special of the Cinemark Legacy on a Saturday/Sunday morning and go see "Bourne Legacy" opening night. After being accustomed to the Drafthouse for so long I can definitely say SMG needs some improvements. Ordering Tickets: Painless. Kiosk at the front, go online, or purchase from the front. No hassle and pretty easy. Normal tickets run $9.25 for an adult and sodas are $3 (so our groupon deal was basically 50% off). Same price as most other places, but you can also reserve your seat for $3 more. No waiting in line and first to sit? Spend the extra $6 on date night for a smooth experience. Service: Fast and quick! But man there were a lot of servers! It was like watching rush hour traffic before the movie. There had to be at least a dozen or more, it seemed. Drafthouse typically got it done with half a dozen in a much larger space. That means less people walking in front of you while you're watching the movie. Seating: My biggest complaint. Office chairs!? Highly uncomfortable and made weird, distracting noises as you moved or readjusted. Plenty of space, though. However, their stadium seating left a lot to be desired. Two people in front of us in the reserved seating section blocked the lower right side of the screen with their heads during the entire movie. Reserved seating definitely looks the way to go. Their lines were cramped, but organized well enough. Hooray for mice mazes! Food: Decent selection, but I'd come here on a deal night (All you can eat pizza on Wednesday night for example). Burgers were overpriced; $15 compared to Drafthouse's under $10. Cocktails were nearly $10, too. Beers were around $7, wines $9 or more. Desserts seemed reasonable though. We ordered the Brownie Sundae: they were out of vanilla ice cream (sad day!) but we substituted with chocolate instead. Great presentation and worth the $6 we spent but the taste was nothing exceptional. Small brownie smothered with two HUGE scoops of ice cream. I was expecting this fresh, oven baked brownie still warm and gooey (much like my Drafthouse experiences of the past), but no such luck. So for an opening night movie we spent the same amount as any other theater but also got a nice dessert and two drinks. $20 spent well enough. Would I come back? Maybe. We might try dinner and a movie all in one place, but only if we got another groupon deal. As I read a review on the right, I'm not surprised that one could spend $80 or more for everything, which makes this place very pricey. For the same at a Drafthouse (Tickets, a couple of alcoholic drinks, two dinner entrees, and a dessert) would be closer to $60, not $80. I went on a Wednesday night. I arrived around 15 minutes before my show and was able to get a great seat (I didn't reserve one). Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday is all you can eat pizza night. So I paid one price and was able to eat any kind of pizza I wanted all night long. The pizza was fresh/hot and delicious each time I asked for more. The screen was pretty large. Much larger than I was expecting from the outside appearance of the theatre and the fact that I went see a movie that had been out a while. It's built in a shopping center type location. It has a "locally owned" feeling to it even though it is a chain. If you don't go here expecting AMAZING / TOP OF THE LINE service then you will have a great time. It also has a restaurant feel to it more than a movie theatre which I thought was unique. Great food. Reasonable prices. Clean. Large screen. Friendly staff. Nice film quality (no scratches even though I saw a print that had been out a while). As for the cons or complaints. I feel that the hallways aren't very welcoming. As my first time here I was a little confused at the process. I had to leave the theatre and go ask a staff member for my coaster light and menu. It would have been nice for the ushers to ask if I had been there before (maybe this was my fault for using the self-serve ticket machine). Also, the desserts menu contains only chocolate items besides the shakes. A little variety in that area would be nice. I think the bad reviews for this place on here have been from people looking for things to complain about. You should note that this is a laid back theatre. The food isn't the highest quality but that is due to the fact that they are trying to keep their food prices reasonable. Movie theatres make their money off of the food and drinks, not the ticket. The ticket money goes to the production company, actors, etc. There are healthy options if you don't want their pizza. I recommend this place to anyone. I will be back here often. read more

Thank you Groupon for always having $5 tickets because I would never go here as much as I do because the ticket prices are outrageous, and the food is just okay. This place needs some help. It used to be very nice, but now it needs a makeover. Some of the seats are broken, and depending on what part of the building you are in the place can smell. Don't go here for weekend evening shows because 9 times out of 10, you movie will be sold out. Also, if there are numerous kids movies here avoid it as well because children will be running all over the place. Also, be choicey when it comes to picking movies here because the staff can be very annoying at times. For instance, wanting to clean up your food during the climax of the movie, and constantly checking if you have your bill ready to be paid. It's like they have no idea of the concept of paying after the movie is over, and people are actually go here to watch a movie. Also, avoid sitting in the back because you will be disturbed by the door constantly opening, and the staff hanging out waiting for the movie to end to give you your mint. read more

WOW, ya think you could crowd ONE MORE chair in this place. This has to be the most uncomfortable seating of all the SMG locations. Top the crowding of chairs with most of them being completely worn out..well, you could say it was worth the Free pass I got in for. The Martini was the worst I have ever had..not sure they knew what one was. The floors looked to be uncleaned in a few days. and the Hallways were so small two way traffic was single file. Well I gave it another shot since my wife and I got free passes to see a show at SMG, saw the Revenant. Great movie. Our server was very nice and tried his best to serve us, even gave us an extra bowl of chips n salsa for no charge. Didn't mind heavily tipping, as he and the other staff weren't the problem, as far as trying to do the right thing. The place is a thousand times better than it used to be, see my old review, it was dark, dirty, and unpleasant, now it's clean, fancy, and I have no complaints. Food was average, burger was good, my only "burger snob" complaint is that they put the toppings on the bottom of the burger, making it top-heavy and messy. Now my issues: quick crash course on aspect ratios: some movies have a screen ratio in 16:9 aspect ratio, basically a rectangle. Some movies have a super-wide rectangle, sometimes known as anamorphic, and theaters deal with this by having retractable curtains on either side of the screen that move in for a smaller, 16:9 picture, and open up for a wider, anamorphic picture. The Revenant is one of those anamorphic pictures, but the screen curtains were apparently broken, causing about 20% of the picture to be blocked. Our server knew it sucked but said his manager wouldn't do anything about it. I thought about talking to the manager...but I was more interested in watching the movie...just the fact that his manager didn't even offer a discount or coupon toward a future movie was poor customer service IMO. Also, during the movie I noticed there was a tear in the screen, small but still noticeable if there happened to be something happening on that part of the screen. Maybe they spent all their money on the facade and seats? Next, the speed of service was slow. I reiterate that my server did the best he could, and the front desk staff did the best they could, but I could tell that training was a serious issue. Our server had a fancy iPhone that he could take orders on, but didn't know how to customize, delete, or otherwise manipulate our order beyond basics. The front desk staff had issues with the computers and taking cash. Service was somewhat slow. All pointing to poor management. You can have the prettiest, most technologically advanced place in the world, but service and competent management is what counts. And I saw absolutely incompetent management, maybe not directly, but in the experience I received. OK, we keep trying Studio Movie Grill and leave disappointed every time. I really think it's an operational issue and fundamental training is lacking. Let's start with cleanliness. I imagine they spent a lot of money on renovating and they did a great job. But when the floors and menus are sticky and both bathrooms smell like uring, it tells me they aren't cleaning thoroughly/properly and un-does the the "points" scored by the great looking interior. At least they replaced the carpet that used to smell like beer and garbage. The food used to be good. I'm not sure when they updated the menu, but I remember the quality going down around the same time. Also the servers don't bring it out right away, so every time our food is lukewarm at best, and cold at the worst. I'm so disappointed. Was really hoping the new look would also mean a new and better experience all around. Unfortunately they had an innovative idea and almost all market share, but will most likely be overtaken by the competition unless they clean up their act. read more

Well I always get my ticket off Groupon for 5 bucks! So check it out, can't go wrong and make sure on Groupon to enter the correct location. Can use it right on the spot. Plenty of parking, but man be careful for pot holes. The parking lot is truly in need of a make over! No here's the deal, they redid this joint and it sitting area and bar looks great! Daily food and beverage deals, just check the back of the menu before you order. Now I am not a fan of the 2 for whatever price cause I think it keeps going up. Make sure to bring your credit card when ordering, which they will scan first, so make sure you have some money in your account. Yes you can pay cash but they will take your card upfront before you order which can sometimes take away from you trying to watch the movie depending on when they make it to your seat! Sound system is always amazing in each theater. However the restrooms, I can't believe how grown people in general act when they go out. It's not the staffs fault that the restrooms can sometimes be not up to par, just wish people took a little bit more pride and cleaned behind themselves. Outside of that you have to make sure that when you order your food you get it right on the first time because the staff will go ghost on you right when you leave. And I mean you need to order everything (the way you want it) Do NOT assume they know what you want or don't want. My son got a online gift card for his birthday. I took him and his brother. I had the barcode and the card on my phone. Although they were able to scan the code for the tickets. The server informed that the gift card could only be used for tickets per the manager. I didn't bring much cash because I had a $50 gift card. I contacted the corporate office and they told me via email after several unanswered calls that I have to print out the card. If the barcode or QR code is on the phone with the same information, why is that necessary. They were condescending and it went no where. The Plano SMG is awful. If you can, go to The Colony where they are fabulous. The first experience that gave me a bad impression of the Plano Studio Movie Grill was when a friend and I came on a Tuesday night. Other than $5 tickets, there is nothing to draw a large crowd and our movie theater was relatively empty. We ordered two waters and my friend ordered popcorn. 15 minutes later someone came with our two waters and gave them to the girls a few seats down who not only arrived after us but never even pushed their button. This was AFTER we had seen him approaching with waters and said directly to him "Oh those are ours thank you" to which he looked us in the eyes, said nothing and then gave them to the other two girls. About 10 minutes later we ordered some food, popcorn and pretzel bites, which not only took 30 minutes to come out but the pretzels were rock hard and cold when they did. During our 30-minute food wait, I also ordered a glass of wine. It didn't appear until the end of the movie. So we sat in the theater another 15 minutes while I finished my glass of wine that we had already paid for while we dealt with a check issue. When our check was brought to us, we were charged not only with our food but with the other girls food who had already left. We, of course, asked that it be split off and when we left we saw a manager. She was great which is why we gave the place another shot. Big mistake. We went to see Aquaman on a Thursday a few weeks after it premiered. We sat down and ordered a glass of wine and chicken bites on my seat number. 10 minutes later the person I was with ordered popcorn asking the server to pay in cash for the popcorn only. The server look genuinely bewildered and said "so you want two popcorns?" my friend then explained, "No, I want a popcorn on a different tab." All the server did was blink for about 5 seconds and say "oh ok well we will bring separate tabs at the end" At the end, as I figured it would be, it was all on one check. I asked her to split it and 5 minutes later, a guy I hadn't seen the whole movie brought back the exact same tab and just set it down not saying anything. I pushed the button again and a third person who also hadn't been taking care of us came over. I explained for the 3rd time they were going to be separate tabs and that for some reason she couldn't wrap her head around this at the beginning. He brought the tab back and said he had taken the popcorn off completely and if it wasn't for him, we would have been speaking to a manager again. He was so nice he was also the reason we left enough for the tip and enough to cover the popcorn even though it wasn't on our check Ultimately, Plano's food comes out cold, their servers can't comprehend separate tabs and their service is slow. After trying this place again (I boycotted due to bad service and food) I will not be coming back again. We were in a theater that had a broken bulb, the movie was too dark. We attempted to watch for a moment, but the lights never fully went off so we really could not see. I left the movie to talk to a manager, and they came in to see it. The sound was way too high, and they wouldn't do anything about that. They wouldn't lower the lights, and they just handed us two free tickets to come later, but wouldn't refund our money. The seats are incredibly uncomfortable even though they are new. They barely went back, and just wasn't what I was expecting with a new theater. I wasn't too impressed with the theater. Normally I go to Movie Tavern which has the electric reclining seating which is what I was expecting from Studio Movie Grill. The seats comfort wise I'd rate about a 5/10 simply because they don't recline. Service is slow because of there the service button placement is at it makes it hard for the servers to see who needs service unlike Movie Tavern where the button is directly on top of the trays which make it very easy for the servers to spot. I got passed up several times simply because they couldn't see my light that was mounted on the lower portion of my chair. Honestly I probably won't return and would just drive the extra 25min to my normal spot. read more

Came in Sunday and was happy to learn that this theatre updated their seats and now have nice leather recliners. The outside is misleading as it looks kind of dull and ordinary and a little dated but that's not what you get when you walk in the doors. It's nice, has great AC and a bar showing the games. Been to this location multiple times and this is the last time I will be coming here. Every time I come here it becomes more and more ghetto. As soon as you walk in, they have rap music blasting, got our order wrong (not the first time), and gave us the wrong check and kept disturbing us during the movie to pay for it (which we didn't bc we didn't order some of the stuff added to the tix). I really hope that the facelift they're giving the building includes a major food and service overhaul as well... I have been coming here for years and never been "wowed", but it has definitely gone downhill over time. We went yesterday to see Jurassic World. When we walked up to the counter to get our tickets, the girl at the front desk didn't greet us - just stared at the counter and talked into her walkie talkie. When she finally acknowledged us, she still couldn't seem to muster up the energy to look us in the eye or act even a little bit excited to be alive. Got our tickets and walked back to the theater... What is that god awful smell that just hangs in the air in the back hallway and theaters? It smells like feet. Is it Parmesan cheese? I feel like the only way it could smell that strong is if they're grinding the cheese into the carpet every night. The service started off decent. The waitress who took our food and drink orders was very friendly. If she wasn't so nice, I may have been irritated that it took us 15 minutes to get two waters. I wonder how long it takes to get something from the bar? Yikes. Food finally came. Husband got a salad that he said he liked. I got a black bean burger. I've had them here before and they were good. Not sure what happened this time. I didn't realize they didn't leave me a napkin or silverware so I pressed my red button. Ten minutes goes by before someone comes to ask me what I need. Ten more minutes go by before I actually get it. By the time I got to my food, the black bean patty was mushy and tasted like freezer. Bun seemed stale. Fries were cold. My fault for waiting 20 minutes to eat it? Possibly. Is it normal to wait 20 minutes for a napkin and silverware? I guess here it is. Now, wait a minute dudes, didn't you just show us a commercial about how much you care about your food? I guess that doesn't apply at this location? Other theater aspects... Sound was good, screen seemed kinda small. The office chairs are packed together so keep your fingers crossed that your neighbor smells good, because you'll be awfully close to them. Yesterday we went to see Kung Fu Panda 3. We haven't been to SMG since the renovations, and I must say the front lobby looks great! The only thing odd I noticed about it was that the ticket sale kiosks were very close to the front door. There were four spots to buy tickets, but on a Friday or Saturday night, I can easily see the line being long enough to make people stand outside. Seats/Atmosphere: New seats are great and comfy! The swinging tables that you sit with in each seat makes it feel like you're either on an airplane or in a baby high chair, however I thought it was funny and the kids loved it. Service: The servers have iPhones or some other phone that takes orders now. Our server was having a hard time with it and said it was "slow" and he had to put the order in "the old fashioned way" instead. He ended up forgetting to cancel the order from the phone, so they ended up accidentally bringing us the same orders twice and we had to send them back because we already had everything. We double checked our bill to make sure they weren't charging us twice, and they weren't. Food: The items we ordered were 1/2 plate of nachos, a meat eater's pizza, a children's pepperoni pizza, cocunut chicken tenders with sweet potato fries, and a children's order of chicken and fries. Nachos: They tasted good IMO. The chips were buried under all the toppings and it was hard to find the chips without "feeling" for them. Not a good item to share with others. Meat Eater's pizza: My husband said they didn't cook it long enough and it was doughy. I didn't try it myself. Pepperoni Pizza: I tried it and tasted good. It was a good size for a child. Coconut Chicken and Sweet Potato Fries: Fries were OK, a little dry but they tasted good. They gave me two different sauces to use. The chicken tasted great! Might order it again in future visits. Chicken and Reg. French Fries: Fries were dusted with something in addition to salt. Didn't know what it was. Daughter said the chicken was good and she ate it all, but left the fries. Here's the reason why I am really writing this. An hour and a half after we got home and put the kids to bed, our son (5 yrs) woke up projectile vomiting everywhere. I checked his temperature and he didn't have one and he said his stomach never hurt before bed at all. My opinion is that the cup he drank out of was not washed properly and maybe still had some soap in it. Poor kiddo. He felt completely fine after everything came out, and he slept through the night with no other problems. After having heard about Studio Movie Grille for years, I took my wife tonight to go catch "Bridesmaids". The staff was very polite and attentive. Prices were a bit high but to be expected based on location (ritzier side of Plano -- Preston and Park). Soft drinks were about $3 each while chips and queso was ~$7.50. The also offer beer, cocktails, and a full menu. The seats are average. The sound system is good. The service very good. Overall, this is great for date nights when time is of the essence. I have never had a worse experience. When I first sat down a waiter immediately rushed over to me for an order. I ordered the bbq bacon cheeseburger with a margarita. My food came out right before the previews started and was just barely above room temperature. I could of gotten a better tasting and cheaper burger at McDonald's. Maybe the food would of tasted okay if it was hot, but I didn't get that pleasure. The margarita didn't even taste like it had a drop of tequila in it. Pure frozen sugar water. The movie also started late. I wish I could of had my food when the movie started. That way I could eat during the movie instead of the previews. The wait staff was constantly moving about during the movie to the point that it was disturbing the experience. I get that people may want to order more food, and hence call the wait staff member over, but it seemed a little excessive during this movie. They never put the tablets they use to take orders in sleep mode, so there was this moving glow throughout the theatre. They also came by each row and asked every person if they were okay. This defeats the purpose of the call button and further disturbs the movie. Also, the seats didn't recline like the pictures suggested online. This review is not about Studio Movie Grill as a whole. I've watched movies and eaten at three in the Dallas area, the SpringValley and Royal Lane ones (good food at both of those by the way) and most recently the Plano location. If you want to enjoy food with your movie the Plano location is an absolute no go. This location has PISS POOR FOOD QUALITY. You can literally taste the depression and/or anger that the kitchen personnel here MUST be going through. Granted you can't expect Chef Bobby Flay to be in the back personally preparing your meal for $20 bucks, but for a franchise pitching that the kitchen is the "heart of the house" you would think they'd at least have the ability to prepare a properly heated meal. They don't.... The chicken nachos were soggy and lukewarm, the margherita pizza looked and tasted worse than day old Little Caesar's and the chicken tenders were cold in the center. The fries were the straw that broke the camel's back, if you mess up frying potatoes in oil there is something seriously wrong... Studio movie grill Plano is still a theatre so they deserve the 1 star for the movie quality. This location has nice servers too but when they smile and hand you cold lackluster food, you're left a little stumped. The heart of the house (the kitchen) at the Plano location is dead/dying, it needs resuscitation, revamping and at the very least a fully functioning microwave and stove. So made my first trip to SMG last night to see Dark Shadows. We did not use the forethought to buy tickets ahead of time so were literally on the front row. I can say without hesitation that the front row sucks. I would remove it altogether so people did not have to suffer not being able to stretch their legs out or suffer the neck ache we left with, but I digress. Anyway, we ordered some drinks and food and it came out pretty quick. The beer was cold and the food was decent. I have heard that service and food are hit or miss here so I was pleasantly surprised. But really, lighten up on the salt and the prices. 9.00 for a over salted basket of fries is a bit of a stretch considering that someone could buy 10 pounds of potato's for that price but...whatever. There was one snafu when one of the wait staff dropped an entire box of reserved seat signs. They clanged to the floor and the entire group of employees died laughing. I guess it could be considered funny if you're in your teens. No big deal. Anyway the movie was good, service was discreet and quiet as they moved around taking care of orders and tickets. It was overall a good experience albeit their sound system is unbelievably loud. Perhaps that was because we were on the 1st row looking like we were praying all night. The lack of competency amongst the staff here is absolutely astounding. I remember back in the day before the Groupons and updates, this place used to be the SHIT. I didn't mind paying a higher price for the movies because the food was great and the service was pleasant (circa 206-2007). WHAT. HAPPENED. I only ever go here now if I have a 5.00 Groupon, but to be honest, I don't think the experience is even worth that much. The service for food is always abysmally slow--I generally get to my theater 20-30 minutes in advance if the theater is clear so I can order and have my meal before/right as my movies starts. The last time I came, I did the same thing; my kiddo, mom and I were first in the theater and ordered 30 mins before the start of the movie. I got a pizza and a Shirley Temple, daughter got a kids meal and mom got a pizza and we ordered spinach dip to start. My mom and kid got their drinks within 15 minutes (which is extremely slow) and I didn't get mine until 57 minutes into the movie (yes I counted). And that was after REPEATEDLY asking for it and having the wrong drink brought out 45 mins after ordering it. My parched ass almost DIED yall. Dehydration is a bish. Others around us had their food and drinks way before us even though we ordered well in advance. I had my food before my drink too, which is ridiculous. To top it off, staff seemed annoyed when I asked where my stuff was. Unless they've got a soda factory and a cherry tree underground and are making that shit from scratch, that makes absolutely no sense. The serves run around like chickens with their heads cut off like they have NO IDEA what the heck is going on. For Christ sake, its a MOVIE THEATER SERVER JOB, its not like its freaking rocket science or neurosurgery. It aint that difficult to figure out yo! You'll have different people taking your orders and bringing them out at the same time, like they have no sections or any clues what's going on. The time before last, they forgot items in my order, which they also took 45 minutes to bring out. Hallelujuah that it only took 10 minutes to get drinks this time! *Sarcasm*. Then, they "forgot" to give me a receipt to sign at the end of the movie and I had to wait about 10 mins and go through 3 different people to get my ticket and close out my tab. Wanna guess why they didn't give it to me initially? Oh, they just overcharged me and added items that I didn't order on there. Had to get a manager to refund the "mistake". Offered free movie passes due to the "error", which I used and received more shitty service. I could go on and on with other incidents, but I'm getting carpel tunnel and my boss is looking at me with side-eye for Yelping While Working. TL/DR: This place aint sh*t, the employees are imbeciles and the food now sucks. A movie experience here is sure to raise your blood pressure. I'll pass from now on... read more

What are you guys thinking with those God awful chairs?? You have to be in the first 2-3 rows to get reclining chairs and all the rest are like sitting straight up on an airplane seat in coach. Beyond uncomfortable. Get those replaced and the reviews will improve. Every other SMG I have been to is all reclining and awesome. Food is the same as the rest, mediocre, but expected. If you just fix those chairs this will be our permanent go to! Hint: we see about 3-4 movies a week, always eat, and always drink lol! Will edit my review when you improve your seating. read more

When I have Groupons, I enjoy coming to Studio Movie Grill - otherwise, it's a little bit overpriced for my taste. It can be a little crowded, but there's usually ample parking and seating space to accomodate all movie-goers. Their seats are comfy and the theaters provide an intimate environment to watch movies, which I like. The servers do a great job of bringing out the food as quickly as possible without causing a lot of disruption during the movie. The food is alright - there's definitely a good variety for everyone. I enjoy their fries a lot - mmm, fries. Their pizzas are alright, the simpler the pizza - the better, but you could possibly try all of them on the "All you can eat" pizza night (Wednesday?). Their burgers are pretty good too. They have a good variety of cocktails and beverages if you're in that kind of mood too! This is a cool place to go locally for a movie and meal. They have some good deals on certain nights for kids and chick flicks as well. Groupon gives frequent deals for this place, so I'd definitely recommend trying it if you have one of those suckers! read more

I'll start by saying that I find it hard to find fault with our experience because we had a gift card and the whole night was free. That being said, aside from waiting for them to seat our show in the somewhat depressing lobby area with nowhere to sit, it honestly was not a bad experience at all. Granted I RARELY go to movies now that I have a toddler. We're talking twice a year if I'm lucky. So just being able to go to the movies is a treat. I haven't been to SMG in a couple of years, and my last time was at the Dallas location, which was an entirely different story. Compared to my memories of the spotty service I'd received in Dallas in the past, the service on this particular Saturday night in Plano was pretty spot on, and our order was correct and came very quickly. Could have used an extra couple of napkins and perhaps a fork and knife, but oh well. We were at a 9:00 show and had already eaten dinner, but ordered the slider trio and a brownie sundae because date night. Now, listen here SMG, it's pretty ridic that you can't do one of each type of slider in the trio. Fix that! However, the chicken sriracha sliders were super tasty. But I really wanted to try the pork one, dangit. The brownie sundae was quite yummy. Surprisingly, the stars of that dessert were the house made cinnamon chips. I was shocked at how good those were. The seats are a little uncomfortable, but again, I never go to movies so it didn't really bother me. Finally, the last time I'd gone to a SMG you could only reserve seats online; now ALL seats are reserved, including those bought at the ticket counter. Not bad for its market. We've been going here for the last 10 years... I remember even going to the granada about 14 years ago... Current day. The drinks are "ok" but nothing special. last time i went i had a blue swirl marg. it was better than average... the food is "ok" too but not "awesome" by any stretch.. but should one really expect it to be?? the chairs are the biggest negative here. For the price this isnt a bad experience. Positive: Unique movie experience decent food decent drinks finally got rid of the lighted coasters ! Negative can be a noisy theatre some of the locations smell (although they are really improving lately) I HATE the office depot work chairs ymmv (your mileage may vary) meaning they arent horribly consistant. read more

Always a good idea to drink and watch a movie. Food is good. Drinks are good. Service is good. I would give it a 5 but staff is a hit or miss. They are young usually and if you don't press the button they might not help you. read more
