I am a coffee snob (Starbucks cold brew with light water, or any dark brew and high quality cold brew) so I apologize to the loyal customers but DAMN, my husband and I hated this coffee! My friend LOVES this place and highly recommend fed it but maybe it's a local thing because of all the flavors advertised? The woman working at the time we visited was all alone (it was a slower time of day) but still so sweet and friendly. The staff here are always friendly! I come here at least 3x a week for iced coffee and their iced flavor brews are great. They have soy milk too! Prices could be better, a medium iced runs me about $3.75. They do have belly rewards that get you a free muffin top or medium coffee if you visit frequently! This place used to be great! Used to visit all the time until the owner decided to relocate and get a completly new staff. The old staff was amazing and one of the only reasons there were so many return customers. I want to start by saying their coffee is delicious, however read on. I have been in the coffee house at least 100 times through all of their locations; one theme has followed them no matter where in town they resided. That the owner/manager is completely disconnected from the business. That the customer service doesn't deserve one star. That the wait times to get a coffee are completely unreasonable, with or without a line. I will provide examples for this below. First one happened just this morning. I enter the coffee house, stand in line for 10-15 minutes ( totally reasonable considering it is he week of the Brimfield Antique Show). What is unreasonable is that once I ordered my coffee it took another 20 minutes until it was handed to me. Not because they were backed up with drinks, but because they were serving all of the customers behind me... at least 8 people who ordered after me recieved their coffee before me; completely unreasonable considering I ordered an iced coffee with cream and sugar. Late last summer my fiancé and myself ordered breakfast sandwiches and coffees last summer. It took (literally) 40 minutes to get the sandwiches. On top of that, my fiancé is a vegetarian and ordered a Sanchez Sandwich without bacon. After 40 minutes I recieved two sandwiches with bacon. I brought the sandwiches back and asked for replacements. It took them 15 minutes to hand me THE SAME SANDWICHES BACK. I know for a fact because I hid a piece of a toothpick under the egg of my finances sandwich.. That's a long time to take the bacon of a sandwich and lie to me about remaking it. I have tried numerous times to contact Pia (owner) however she is never in there. When I made a comment about her being hard to reach to an employee they told me she is never there; and even made remarks about her poor leadership and lack of a presence in her business. I found this gem while driving back to Boston from Western Mass. The coffee was strong and there are many fun flavors to choose from. I went with a peanut butter iced coffee and was not disappointed. I have been coming to Sturbridge on a regular basis as my fiancé races at the nearby Palmer Motor Sports Raceway. I drove by this place so many times and decided the I was done with the hotel complementary breakfast and awful coffee! I tried the Sturbridge Coffee house. Well, I am so happy I did. So many options, all delicious. They have muffin tops which are moist and perfect with a cup of their excellent coffees. The Sanchez breakfast sandwich is definitely worth the visit. The best breakfast sandwich I ever had! Spicy and savory. Monterey Jack, bacon, egg, jalapeño bagel (very light and airy bagel - not doughy). Really yummy! Give it a try! I gave 2 stars because while looking at the menu and then ordering, the young woman waiting on me continuously called me hun and honey. I then chose to sit in the quiet business/ laptop section but the female owner sat beside me and interviewed a prospective new client to rent some space to. This is a cute and cozy coffee house. They have very yummy muffin tops, great breakfast sandwiches. I really enjoy their BLT sandwich. It has a ton of bacon. So disappointed in the new location. I used to go to the old coffeehouse every single day I could. It's was a true 'coffeehouse' warm and inviting with couches to curl up with a book or tables to chat with friends. It made it worth the prices. I know they had to move but Now the prices went up even more and it looks like a small doctors office, I would never ask a friend or date to meet up with me there now, and the iced coffeehouse has ice cubes IN it already which makes all the awesome flavor taste watered down like you left it lying around for hours to melt (because they did) everybody that works there is a total sweetheart but I miss the original coffeehouse girls, it just makes me sad that nobody wants to go there anymore read more

I absolutely adore this place! This is my go-to place when class in canceled or just a quick coffee to start my morning. Today I went in and order my usual iced chai and a chicken salad wrap, as I went to get my debit card to pay I realized it was missing. I went to my car to search for it and it was MIA. Fortunately, I had five dollars on me so I could get my large iced chai but told her to cancel the chicken salad. I began to sit down and the guy came up to me with the chicken salad and said "dont worry about it"! Everyone is ALWAYS so friendly here and it's by far my favorite coffee shop around. Our visit was with another couple and their grand-child at one o'clock on a Friday. We were all familiar with the SCH and the various changes in location through the years. Now located near the entrance to OSV, parking for the business is around the back of the building; parking in the front is reserved for the handicapped and for 15 minute purchases. It appears that the latter is the bulk of their business. We entered and found only one table available for four (of two) that we could sit at. All the other tables were for two but most were empty. Three folks were seated at the other 4, three at the individual window seats and 4 in the back in the couch area, in the back room but there we found it not to be conducive for having a sit down meal. The one girl at the register has to make the coffees, process orders and ring up sales. She was very pleasant and friendly considering the multitasking. The sandwich board does not post prices, so we were shocked to find that the order for two bagel sandwiches with cream cheese, cucumber and egg (hold the bacon) two bags of chips, one medium coffee and one cold drink came to $21 and change. Our friends ordered two tuna sandwiches, one small coffee, two drinks, two chips and that came to $27. We all agreed that it is totally unfair to not post the prices. My partner and I recently had two sandwiches with fries, two coffees for $20 in Hadley. If you are searching for place to casually chat with a friend over a chai or coffee, the couch area would do you well, I guess. Somewhat dark, could be called charming and certainly an alternative to Dunkin Donuts. But if you are looking to meet friends over lunch, I would recommend either reviewing this place as the chairs and tables were cramped and cheap. The atmosphere bland. Not charming. There are better locations. It appears to us that most come here for the hot drinks and some "chill" time or to access the free wifi and work. I'm so sad to be writing this review because I really did love the coffee house but ever since it moved its just gotten worse and worse. Though the girls working the front have all been extremely kind the coffee is never consistent. Get it at three in the afternoon and you can tell it's been sitting around all day. Sometimes there's too much syrup in flavored coffees, sometimes you can't taste it at all. They close at four so I haven't spent much time hanging out there in a long time. I do like sitting in the bar stools and looking out the window but the old brown couches in the back gross me out. The bacon on egg sandwiches is always floppy. I just miss the old coffee house and it's charm. It seemed like then it was worth paying $4 for a medium coffee but now it's just not consistent enough for me. read more
