Subaru of Spokane Ian my salesman, Chris sales Manager, Patrick dealership manager, and Michael finance all went above and beyond for me. They truly want their customers to return with always having a great experience. They all are kind. They listened to me, explained things to me and wanted me to be happy not just as their customer but as a person. They will joke with you, make you laugh but be professional in making you feel at ease. They want you to love what you're driving. They saw me as a person with true concerns that they wanted to make right. I highly recommend this dealership to anyone!!! I'm not just going to be a returning customer but a customer that will use their services for the small things such as oil changes. They too don't want to be slammed on social media just as none of us do going to work, doing our jobs and working hard to make a living. Ian is amazing not just at selling cars but at building a relationship with you. Michael is good at explaining what you are signing financially not hiding anything. I was comparison shopping online for an Outback Touring XT and came across Subaru of Spokane. Their website featured several of the model I was interested in and one was marked down an additIonal 1K. I made and online inquiry and later received a call from Rueben with "the onsite sale team". I was in a meeting and could not take his call but we connected later in the day. I expressed an interest in the vehicle I saw on the website, provided the VIN numbe and asked about its availability. Rueben needed a moment to look up the vehicle and then seemed hesitant. Told me that someone would get back to me before close of business. I have bought a fair number of cars and have never had a salesperson tell me that. Hearing this my radar quickly went up and I was thinking maybe a bait and switch scam was afoot(?) Could not say for sure, but interestingly enough I never heard back from Rueben or anyone from the dealership. After taking a look at the reviews on this dealership I may have dodged a bullet by not doing business with them. Like the adage goes..."buyer beware". And by the way, when I went back to the dealer website and the model I was interested in had mysteriously vanished. Big surprise, right? ADDENDUM: Shortly after I posted the above review Patrick O'Neill, the General Manager for Subaru of Spokane reached out and was kind (and professional) enough to try and make right the communication oversight regarding the Touring XT I was possibly interested in purchasing. Despite the very attractive offer presented by Mr. O'Neill, I had already committed to another dealership over the weekend and am unable to take advantage of his generosity. I bought a used Tiguan from this dealership in January 2026 and have since left several messages for management to call me back about their PermaPlate forced purchase with used cars which was not part of the list price. When I told the salesman I didn't want it, he said it was on all their cars but did not tell me that was an almost $700 charge for it over the sticker price. I told Mr. Robinson whom I found personable and thought was a finance manager that I was not purchasing extras, but then found the charge listed on an extra page in the contract. I was told again it was required for all used cars. When I asked for a brochure on the product, they said I could take a picture of the litter poster on the desk. I did buy the car, so that is on me, but I asked to speak to the sales manager or general manager and was told numerous times they would call me back. They have not. It has been almost a month and I have followed up. I looked up the product PermaPlate which I have no evidence of ever having been applied to the car and found lousy reviews. As far as I am concerned, their business practices are much less than average, and they took advantage of this senior's situation. The car itself seems okay so far, and I might have done business with them again on that alone. I say might because at least one car they tried to show me appeared to need engine work and in fact the engine cover was missing. But I don't expect salespeople to know every car's issues, so let it slide even though I felt he tried to gaslight me about that particular car. He would have done better to just accept my "no, valves" comment rather than trying to tell me the car was just cold. Salesman arguing with a customer? Not good. Management being unwilling to listen to a customer's concern? Not a good business practice. Forced extra of a questionable product with bad reviews to buy a used car? Also, not a good business practice. No brochure available for that product? Another poor business practice. They did give me a ride to drop off my insurance company rental. I appreciate that just as I also appreciated the salesman only suggesting cars that were in the types and price range specified. That does not make up for the other negative practices that I feel I experienced at Subaru of Spokane. I will not go there again. read more

The staff here was very unprofessional. Had one of the staff members Mike pretending to be the person I talked with on the phone. They are very demeaning to women there, just assuming they no nothing about cars. Then the car i got had multiple engine misfire's. Brought it back to get fixed and they didn't fix it. They just cleared the check engine light. This happened twice before deciding to take my business elsewhere. This was the WORST dealership experience I've ever had. I have all maintenance for my vehicle included in my monthly payments. I was told that I should be able to roll up to any dealership and just hand the keys over and everything would be handled exactly to Subaru's specifications. This has been my experience at multiple other dealerships, even in other states. NOT HERE. I just wish I had caught it before I left. They did not perform the tire rotation despite it definitely being time according to the owner's manual (and me specifically requesting it) and the invoice noted that air filter replacement was recommended but was not performed and it was not communicated to me at all. If I hadn't gone back to read through this invoice, they never would have told me that they didn't do these things. I have called twice. One voicemail, never responded to. One live person who was extremely unhelpful/unfriendly and while I was told that "someone would get back to me", it's been radio silence. I'm in contact with Subaru of America to get this handled because this place is dishonest and shady. DON'T GO HERE. read more

Prices were ridiculous and they attempted to get me to agree to an unneccessary $3500 repair. I was never able to talk to a real mechanic about the work being done to my vehicle or ask questions about the original quote. They charged me $75 for labor for repairs that take less than a minute (fixing a broken fog light, cleaning my battery). On top of it all, they left my vehicle in worse shape then I left it (my dash couldn't read my speed limit, radio broken, window wouldn't roll down). Last July we purchased a 2025 Subaru Forester from Subaru of Spokane. This was the 4th car we purchased from this dealer. We paid for the car with a check for the full amount after our trade-in of a low mileage Honda Ridgeline. We confirmed that the check was for the full amount owed. We drove the car home with temporary plates and returned a little over a month later to pick up the license plates. We were told we needed to talk to someone whose name I forget but it was something like Trey. He says that we had said we would would return with another check for an additional $5,000, which was a bald-face lie, the first of several, and implied this was because we didn't have enough in our checking account to pay the full price in July which was also untrue. After arguing about this for maybe half an hour we stupidly wrote another check in order to get our license plates and go home. As far as I'm concerned they owe us $5,000. read more

They offered post sale appointment to go over the car and how things work. I thought it was a great idea. You never know what will be strange after you purchase a new car. I set up an Appointment. 2 hours before the appointment I received an email to bring my list of questions. I see this an hour before my appointment. I had to cancel because I did not have a list. Did they ever call me back or email me to set up a new appointment? No. I have had the car 6 months and the only call or notice I have received was the automated reminder for the 6 month required oil change, car inspection and tire rotation. The tires were not rotated. No clue why because when the appointment was made it was clearly stated it was for 6 month required maintenance. This is my 6 th new car since I was married. It was my worst experience ever. These people only care that you buy. Once you are out of the showroom you are on your own. Thinking about getting rid of this car. Funny everyone else I know loves Subaru. Maybe it is just this dealer. read more

My son and I tried to buy a new car here and this was the worse experience ever. Chris showed us a car and stated we have a no haggle policy and this no haggle price is 32,000 dollars. My son credits is a 800 and than he said we could go to 72 months but they would have to jack up the price to be able to buy down the loan to get to 0% financing that they advertised. They lied about everything from the start. They don't want you to get a deal. They want to rip you off even if there dealing with a good credit customer. They had no body in the dealership and I was wondering why. Now I know. I went to a different store and with in one hour my son had a new Subaru forester at a payment of 645 months his trade payed off. You've been warned. Several years ago a purchased tires and rims from the dealership with a lifetime storage and rotation as needed each fall and spring. Several times I called to make an appointment only to get a message to leave information and I would get a call back. Both times I never received a call back. When I did get through to the scheduling office I was told the earliest time would be one week out. Being interested I went to the dealership and was told to bring the car in at 9:30 and they could take care of it. I watched the waiting room empty so after 2.5 hours and an empty waiting room I went to see why replacing tires with rims would take so long. I was told they were just getting the tires and would be done soon. Three hours I set in the waiting room and I still had not got my car!! read more

parts department review: I have no experience with the sales or service departments at Subaru of Spokane, but I am so impressed by the parts department, particularly with David, who saved what had been a stressful and hectic day. I discovered that the previous seller of my preowned Subaru had not provided me with the key for my wheel locks, so my car was at a tire service center (after I had waited in the cold for over an hour before opening for a walk-in spot) and the technicians were unable to install my winter tires. They offered to still exchange the tires if I could somehow find the key or have the locked lug nuts removed. Unlike their competitor the in Valley, who told me "Do not come today, there is no one here to help you," David at Subaru of Spokane listened to my problem and told me on the phone to "Come by, and we'll see how we can help." When I arrived, rushed and stressed, he stepped away from the counter to inspect my wheels, find the matching master key, and facilitate the service department replacing my lug nuts right away. My winter tires were installed the same day, thanks to David, who went above and beyond what I have learned to expect from customer service, and who saved my day. read more

To say that I am livid with my interaction with this dealership is an understatement, at best. I have copied my email to the service manager below, but I will be giving more backstory for additional context. I was taking a road trip from Omaha, Nebraska to Seattle, Washington. Roughly 5 hours from my destination, my car had thrown a check engine code (P0117 for low voltage to the coolant temperature sensor). Car was also showing that the engine was overheating. Pulled over and saw that there was coolant leaking from the driver's side of the radiator. Had the car towed to the closest dealer (Subaru of Spokane) to have them diagnose the problem. They said there was a hole in the radiator which was causing the leak. I was charged $1,000 for a radiator replacement and coolant flush, which I reluctantly paid. I continue on with my road trip, not even 2 days later the car is now having the same issue as before with the same engine code. This occurred on Sunday, so the service department was not open. I had to buy coolant from parts stores to make sure I had a consistent supply as a workaround to get me down the road back home. I had gotten the car to a Subaru dealer in Boise, Idaho, where I then called Subaru of Spokane to inform them what happened and how they were going to make this right. Their service department had inspected the car and stated they could not find any external coolant leak, and Subaru of Spokane had claimed that this was not caused by their labor and would not be covering the cost for additional repairs. I had initially took my frustration out on the service advisor that was assisting me. For that, I do apologize. I then spoke with the service manager who reiterated that they would not be covering any additional repair costs because the department at the other dealer was not able to replicate the issue, stating that "your car is just overheating". Even now as I am typing this, there is still coolant leaking from the driver's side of the vehicle, which you can see evidence of in the photos attached. This is not acceptable, especially after the money I had paid you guys to have this issue resolved. You guys either created a new problem, or your diagnosis was improper. I should not be left to just pay for this and take it for what it is. Subaru of Spokane, all am I am asking is that you guys make this right... "Austin, I've attached a couple photos as evidence of the coolant leak that you guys are refusing to take responsibility for. As you can see in the first photo, there are blue stains from dried coolant on the driver's side valve cover. This was taken right before I had left the service center at the Subaru dealer in Boise, Idaho. The second photo was taken roughly 30 minutes after I had stopped to let the engine cool and refill the upper reservoir on the passenger side of the engine with more coolant. I had stopped to fill up with gas and, sure enough, blue coolant was leaking from the driver's side of the engine (as you can see in the photo). My car was not overheating at this time either. To say that this is expected behavior after a radiator replacement is ridiculous and asinine. As I mentioned during our phone conversation, I personally do all of the work on my vehicles and it was not doing any of this until after the labor that you guys did. We reached out to Subaru Spokane to lease a new Subaru when our existing lease was coming to an end. We simply wanted to duplicate what we currently had. Since we leased the last Subaru prior to Covid, we found that we had a significant amount of equity we were looking forward to lowering our payments on our next lease and taking advantage of that. Sadly, the only thing that was taken advantage when we approached Spokane Subaru was they were taking advantage of us. They were in capable of a transparent transaction. Simple questions took hours and sometimes days to answer . They simply have no value for your time. During which they didn't have my correct vin number and were calling my crosstrek an Impreza so I thought they had lost my car all together. Then when I finally get home I find a FAT SCRATCH ON MY DOOR!!! After i returned to the Oregon coast and was checking the paperwork i discovered the office had put the title application on the California DMV form instead of Oregon. Steve superintended the correction and had the correct form overnighted to me to sign. But for that mistake this would be a 5 star review for the sales experience at Subaru od Spokane. read more

We needed to find a place to get our Subarus maintained as we just relocated to Spokane. We have been to Jiffy Lube and Clark's Lube Express up North before. Servicing our vehicle at a one-stop-shop is the most ideal for every vehicle. Not only having it serviced at Subaru reliable- it also costs the same (sometimes less) than the other places. They check and top off your fluid levels as well as provide a complimentary wash! The only downside is the wait time. The first time I arrived to get my tires rotated and a recall checked. That took about two hours, but they covered the cost since the wait was so long. The second time I came in for an oil change which took about an hour and a half. In summation, I would still come to Subaru to get my car serviced. The quality is worth the wait! I would recommend changing the waiting arrangements for COVID since the lobby can get extremely packed, but you can drop off your vehicle and come back as an option. read more

Update. I contacted corporate. They actually responded and did some research. They did offer to refund me part of my bill and sent me a check. We took our Forester in for an oil change and a recall yesterday. During their multi point inspection they stated I needed some head gasket work along with brakes and tires. The head gasket work totalling over $3,600 was hard to believe so I went to get a second opinion. It turned out to be bogus. Both shops indicated nothing wrong with the head gaskets but lots of oil spilled on motor during oil change. This is the second time bogus work was suggested by Subaru of Spokane. I wonder if anyone fell for this without getting second opinions. Highly disappointed that a professional organization would do this! read more

I set an oil change appointment up a week in advance, arrived 10 minutes early and was told the wait time would be 45 min to an hour. An hour and 10 minutes later, text saying it would be about 20 more minutes... that's now been an additional hour and no news and no car. I am a finance manager at another dealership and I literally could have bought a new car and driven off with it faster than an oil change..? Doesn't make sense to me! Honestly don't know how this place operates daily. Such dishonest and untrustworthy people. Could go on and on about how bad the service department is. Absolutely zero quality control. These people do not care about the vehicles they work on or care to provide even a little bit of good service.
