Was craving a sandwich and Yelp led me to Subs & Such. Was not expecting such a large space and very busy around 1 PM. Though there weren't many people in line, the sign showed a 30 minute wait. Prices were really fair and I settled on a 6 inch Reuben on rye. Saw they had a soup and salad option and many people making their salads. The numbers are yelled by the workers, and felt bad for the employee doing so. Maybe a buzzer option might be better for the future? About 30 minutes later I picked up my sandwich. Seems this place is known for steaming their bread, so it was a little mushy, but filled with plenty of corned beef and sauerkraut and it was all very tasty. A warm sandwich that hit the spot but took way longer than I expected.

I'm not sure what has happened over the past year but service and quality has declined. I feel like I've given them a lot of chances before deciding to update my review. They seem understaffed, it takes orders a lot longer to come out that it used to (15-20 mins even if they aren't busy) and the amount if meat they put on the sandwiches is half what it used to be. This was a staple in the area for years and the best sandwiches around, but it's sadly declined. I recommended it to some people a while back and they didn't have a good experience either.

    Italian sub, hot (steamed.)

It's a big place. Lots of sammie options, hot and cold. Fresh soups made daily. They have ordering kiosks in store, which is cool. Had the 12" Italian, hot and some broccoli cheddar soup. Both were solid. Prices seem fair and quality was good.

Plenty of seating - two main areas with a high bar between.

Great local find! A homegrown, tasty sandwich shop in a strip mall. Sandwiches come in 4, 6, 8 inch and larger size. Friendly staff. This is counter order and then they give you a number that they call later. We arrived during Saturday lunch hour and only waited about 7-10 minutes. Food was great - be sure to try the unique breads like dark or rye.

That steamed Turkey and provolone on dark rye with a side of pepper and pickle. GET IN MY BELLY

You're going to smell like a sandwich when you leave. But you will smell like one of the most delicious sandwiches you've ever encountered.

Haven't had pastrami in a while so I had to order the Pastrami Reuben and the presentation was great with how it was stacked! Between the sauce and the sauerkraut the flavors were all good and I enjoyed the taste of the pastrami when I found it, but the bread to meat ratio was so high I mostly tasted the burned crust of the bread and very few bites of pastrami. It was one slice of pastrami, not a thin slice but not what you hope for when you bite into true Jewish deli pastrami, which are normally bursting at the seems with meat. Marble rye is hard not to burn and they did a good job for the most part, but I tasted more crust than I did pastrami, and for $18 I wonder if this sandwich was more a charge for the hype. The blintzes were also smaller than one would expect of a blintz but I absolutely loved the compote on top.

There's a side of beef on those buns, hamburger buns, not mine, at least not until after a few more visits. I ordered the SEC burger. It was full of perfectly grilled onions, an ample amount of bacon, cheddar cheese, and let's not forget the chunk of meat. The saying "the South shall rise again" is befitting, for the SEC surely rose to the occasion. My son-in-law ordered the Double Vol. Vol as in volunteer, but it could have stood for the abbreviation vol, as in VOLUME! Even after cutting his burger in half, he had difficulty arranging which angle to tackle the behemoth. After a couple of attempts, he finally got a handle on the thing and made quick work of it. He mentioned that a snake would have had a hard time getting its mouth around that burger. Even after dislocating its jaw! The boy loved the challenge as much as he loved the burger. Fries galore come with your burger selection. There is plenty enough to bring home in a box with what burger you may have left over. Now, let me discuss the milkshake bar. Sorry, but I can't. I wanted one big time. But my daughter reminded me that we had Buttermilk Sky Pie waiting for us back at the house. It won out this time. But my next visit to S and A's will include a milkshake without doubt. I did see a number of folks enjoying theirs. They all had smiles. There are plenty of tables and a huge TV, so you can bring the neighborhood with you. Don't worry about parking, there's plenty of that too. I bet this place rocks during a big game. True, southern hospitality greets you at the order counter. These folks were happy, polite, and smiling. They stayed that way as they came by to check up on you, making sure that your Sam and Andy's experience is a good one. Did they cater to my every whim? Well, every whim associated with food. I didn't pressure them. After all, it was only my first visit. Quick Tip: They serve Coca-Cola products. I didn't know what to get. My daughter suggested an Arnold Palmer. What the heck is that I asked. Lemonade and ice tea, she said. I opted for the Tiger Woods. Water.....( think about it before you "hazzard" a guess ).
