So I had to try this. I wanted a good sandwich, but I had no idea this would be so flipping good. I will have no problem bringing my son who is not vegan, here to enjoy great food. A guy in getting if me ordered the meatball sandwich and it looked good too, but I had the Italian. I couldn't believe how much I liked it. This place is very cool. I've only tried the smoked pepper ham sandwich (Infinite Wisdom) mostly because I am a creature of habit and when I like something I prefer not to deviate. Love the concept but I just 'liked' my sandwich I didn't LOVE it. I was hoping for a different texture of the 'meat' I guess? Tasted like a vegan spam a bit instead. Was in Irvine for the day and stopped by SubVegan. We were absolutely blown away by the hospitality and the welcoming and great suggestions of their best sellers. We absolutely love this place. The sandwiches are so delicious. The ingredients are always so fresh and the bread is so tasty. Our regular go-to sandwiches are the inner master and divine wisdom. So happy they have a 2nd location here in Santa Ana/border Costa Mesa. The sandwiches are so delicious and a bang for your buck. My husband and I usually order the Divine Love aka the Chick'n Pesto in the Great size. They cut it in 4, so we usually eat 2 sections and have the remaining 2 sections for dinner. We love that they use Dutch crunch bread too. We've been to this location 3 times now. We see the same employee (they're hiring!) and he's always hustling to get the sandwich orders out. Even with a lot of orders on the line, he always makes our sandwiches with care. We hope he gets help soon though. There are tables inside and outside. They have 2 TVs, but it's just random channels--one of the channels they usually leave on is this weird cult channel. No idea what that's about, but it hasn't deterred us from coming. Conveniently located across from south coast plaza lies Sub Vegan in an ex Jimmy Johns. We arrived at 12pm and ordered the light warrior with avocado (photos attached) and inner peace regular sized sub. Only took about 10 minutes to get our food. The regular is massive. The Dutch crunch bread is incredible. All the ingredients were super fresh tasting. They have a stubborn soda machine near the back that has a many flavors (orange hibiscus had a unique flavor that I enjoyed). Love that this is open 7 days a week! read more

I sat at the first booth to wait and the table top was dirty. I got up and moved to the second booth and that one was not clean either. I ended up sitting at the third booth which wasn't any better. Loved Sub Vegan!! We were in town and so stoked for all the vegan options. To be able to go to a sub shop and eat everything was such a treat! The sandwiches are all so delicious. I have to give Thomas a special shout out! He is such a nice young man, hard worker and he is EXCELLENT at his job!!! He makes the BEST sandwiches and you can tell he makes them with love. Where we're from, we call that putting your foot in it. Well, Thomas put his foot into ALL the sandwiches he made, to the point that we only want to go if he's there working. Haha. Also loved the Stubborn Sodas. I haven't had soda in years, due to the bad ingredients, so it was nice to have a healthier version. Loved this spot! If you are expecting something like a subway, this place is so much better! The quality of the subs and ingredients is excellent very fresh. We were helped by Seiko and Joseph - both were incredibly sweet and gave us great service. Family of 5 - we tried the BLTA, corned beef, Turkey and grilled cheese subs. The protein alternatives were excellent! I'm picky about alt proteins and these has delicious flavor and texture. We also got the soft serve. Perfect size and not overly sweet. GOOD vegan deli sandwiches are very hard to come by. The stars must be aligned and the vegan gods are happy because this place is phenomenal! My go to sandwich is The Almighty God Father. I have had others such as Divine Love and Light Warrior which are yummy too but something about the Almighty God Father has you saying "oh mighty god this is good". The name is fitting. The prices are a bit high for a sandwich but I have accepted this as part of my vegan life. Most places charge too much or up charge for mediocre food. Not here! I really want to try other sandwiches but what's that saying, "if it ain't broke..." Besides if it's not as good, I may be slightly irritated especially when dropping those kinds of bills, LOL! I get my pedicure done right next door. I usually pop into Euro Caffe to grab a sandwich before...but today they were slammed and had a 45 min wait. So I decided to see what other places were around. I really hate to give any fellow vegan shop anything other than 5 stars, however, you understand when I tell you my story. My friend and I arrive to the shop, luckily we were the only customers. The young man behind the counter acknowledged us and shortly came over to take our order. I ordered the veggie sandwich with a side of honey mustard and bread sticks. My friend, ordered just a sandwich, don't remember which one. She said hers was delicious. When I got my order, I had to remind him of my side of dressing. Maybe there should have been more help? Anywho, those were all just little things that can add up. So, I paid 11$ for bread and veggies. I was soooooo sad. Luckily I had cheese in the fridge. I will not be going back to that location. I was a bit skeptical when I first read some of the sandwich options that it would be made with regular slices that you can buy at the grocery store. Think Tofurkey slices, etc. They definitely do not use that, the slices on the sandwich were thick and delicious. I got the Soul Savior (BBQ chicken) and it was delicious!
