At first, I was like, "Hey, get me a sandwich." But when we got there, it looked divey, so I said, you know what, let's see! We grabbed a high-top table, but listen: seating is limited, okay? Don't come in there thinking you finna have a whole big, huge party! It is a small space, but we were able to secure our seats, watch the cooks do their thing, and order our food. Everything came out relatively quickly. The whole place has a fun vibe. Pictures on the ceiling, bright colors. Of course, the name Devil Dawgs made me think about the Marine Corps. If you know, you know! I had the Dragonfruit Shake, and oh my goodness. My husband had the Maxwell Street Polish, which I absolutely loved seeing because I grew up eating them. I used to get mine off 95th & Dan Ryan.. so that brought back some memories. And Hubs tore that thing down! Now, my hot dog? Listen, the picture is diabolical, okay? But it was EV-ER-Y-THING! I need to sound it out phonetically because it was literally everything, okay?! It was loaded, messy, and doing exactly what it needed to do. And listen, I am perfectly fine with a messy dog as long as it is good, and it absolutely was! The food came out quick, fast, and in a hurry. You won't be sitting around waiting forever. If you need to catch a plane, train, automobile, or whatever else, you are going to get where you need to go because that food is coming out, okay? If we ever come back to the area, we are definitely hitting up Devil Dawgs again. For sure!

You can sit and eat there, it's cool decor, hipster style and vibes. The reason I gave it a 3 is because there's no bathroom:( that was insane to us ladies who had to go. Really a bummer:(

I definitely should've asked for them to fry it a bit harder than that cuz i like mine a lot crisper, but that was my fault. The wings themselves were seasoned well, juicy and hot. The fries were okay too. The lemonade was too damn sweet lol. But that's to be expected really lol. I wanted something sweet to end the meal so i got a lemon cake. It wasn't the best cake but it wasn't bad. I'd skip that to be honest. I also didn't need the 5 wings combo cuz that's a lot of wings lol. You can do the 3 wing combo and still be okay. The staff here were nice. They didn't rush you and were helpful when asked. The ambiance was cool. In the downtown neighborhood so it wasn't bad. All in all I'd want to try it again. They had other sides as well and chicken tenders. They also had sandwiches and other juices. Check them out if you're there. Pics below

We were…read moremissing a few items from the order, but after a quick phone call they were delivered promptly, which we appreciated. The only major issue was with the churros. Instead of being coated in cinnamon sugar, they had salt on them, making them completely inedible. The restaurant asked us to send a photo, which we did, although I'm not sure how a photo would show whether it was salt or sugar. Unfortunately, we had to throw all of the churros away. What was most disappointing was that we were never refunded for the churros, despite the mistake being on the restaurant's end. Mistakes happen, but I expected them to make it right. That left us disappointed with the overall experience.

We ordered 4 tacos: the Signature, the filet mignon, the Korean, and the Birria. My wife and I shared all 4, and while all were yummy and flavorful, the Signature was the BEST ONE!! That day, there was only one dessert available, the Churro, but it had 6 small churros, all coated with chocolate and caramel syrup. What was a surprise was a delicate filling inside that put it OVER THE TOP DELICIOUS!!! I couldn't say, "YUM!!!" often enough!! This place is small, but the flavors are out of this world!! Give it a try!! It is also VERY REASONABLY PRICED!!!!

Stress levels were high, but thankfully the folks at the Chicago Passport Agency had everything moving smoothly. With a little time before heading back to pick it up, I figured I should grab lunch. That's when Flaco's Tacos, just a couple doors down, started calling my name. And I'm really glad I listened. The moment I walked in I thought, yep...this is the spot. No gimmicks. No trendy taco fusion experiments. Just the unmistakable signs of a legit taqueria: a Mexican mama working the kitchen in the back, the smell of grilled meat filling the air, and a cooler full of aguas frescas ready to go. I ordered three tacos: al pastor, grilled fish, and carne asada. This was the real deal. No sour cream. No piles of shredded cheese. Just onions, cilantro, and a little squeeze of lime if you want it. The al pastor was the star of the show--perfectly seasoned, juicy, and so flavorful it honestly didn't even need the lime. The grilled fish taco had a great sauce that added flavor without overpowering the fish. And the carne asada was everything a classic street taco should be--simple, savory, and excellent with a little salsa verde. And don't get me started on the Agua de Jamaica. It might seem like a small detail, but the woman serving me filled the cup with just the right amount of ice--cold and refreshing without watering it down. It was the perfect companion to a plate of tacos. You can keep your fancy tacos. Give me Flaco's tacos and a cold Jamaica any day. And honestly? If every passport emergency ended with tacos like this, I wouldn't mind renewing mine a little more often.
