What a disappointing, but prejudice reinforcing experience. I try not to eat at Bigot Bird for moral and ethical reasons. However, it was right next to my hotel and I woke up hungry, and decided against my values to try eating here. I checked the website to make sure it was open, and it said ir opened at 6:30. When I arrived, the door also had hours listed on it, affirming that 6:30 opening time. I entered the building at 6:50. I walked inside and I was the only customer. That should have been a signal that locals avoid this place, but I was tired and didn't think about it. I walk up to the counter and nobody even acknowledges my presence. I stand there and watch employees moving around doing various things. Several pass right in front of me on the opposite side of the counter and don't even look at me. The one who is cleaning the floors actively avoids eye contact with me. After ten minutes of being ignored, two more customers are waiting in line behind me. They are also being ignored. At 7:01, an employee finally walks to the counter and takes my order. Eleven minutes of waiting in a mostly empty building with nobody in line in front of me just to make my order. It took another 5 minutes to get my food, which seemed a little excessive since I was literally the first customer and they had already been filling online orders (which nobody was picking up). Its not like they had to wait for the fryers to heat up or something. Really disappointed with this experience. There is a McDonald's a few buildings down, and I would have chosen to go there had I known the service here was going to be so poor. read more

Very disappointed in the poor customer service at this location :( I placed an order for a chicken sandwich, cobb salad, and a few other items. When I opened the bag in my car, I noticed that the chicken sandwich was missing. I had my car parked outside and went back into the store to request the missing chicken sandwich, and the general manager came out to argue that they "specifically remembered" putting a chicken sandwich in our bag and that they would not give us a replacement chicken sandwich unless we brought back the entire takeout bag as evidence for them to look through. This was very upsetting as not only did they give us the wrong take out order, they refused to take accountability and embarrassed us as customers for their own mistake. read more

I have had food from here multiple times. Generally this is a great spot. However at times I have been disappointed with my fries! Waffle fries are best when hot and fresh but I have had stale fries before. But that's not to give them any less credit for the great job this branch does. Everything here is great. These fries occasionally had potato skin on them. And they weren't horrific rigid potato shards like you'd get at McDonald's. They were soft. Edible. And, dare I say... delicious. I looked around the restaurant to see small vases with flowers at nearly every table. It's like I was on "Punk'd" or something. This was a fast food restaurant. But none of the workers was acting like it was a fast food restaurant. As I got up to leave, an employee immediately offered to take my garbage. What? What madness is this? Are they trying to get me to join some sort of cult? No one is this nice. Look at the dead-eyed layabouts shuffling behind the counter at the "Rock 'n' Roll" McDonald's. That's fast food. That is the terrifying, empty world I expect when I order a quick meal. So I am seriously skeptical of a fast food restaurant that has excellent food, friendly workers and a clean atmosphere. So they finally brought Chick-fil-A to Chicago. And this location is brand spanking new. The interior is very nice and clean, and the wait staff is ridiculously polite/attentive. I think they are trying to create a good impression, so it remains to be seen how long this will last. Upon entering, there was a greeter that was handing out menus (!!) to people in line. You know, just in case the giant flat screen menus on the wall weren't enough. The place was very crowded as well, which is understandable given the hype surrounding Chick-fil-A (downside: it can be tough to find a seat, which is almost unheard of for a fast food place). Ordering was painless and the food arrived quickly. There was also a manager-type guy who walked around to literally every table and asked how we were doing and if we needed any refills. It was a nice gesture, but started to get kind of creepy after awhile. I'm here for fast food, not for fine dining! The food was very good, but pricey for fast food. Chick-fil-A has a reputation for being a very good fast food place, and now I understand why. Definitely worth checking out. read more

I was so eager to write this review I practically ran out of the property. This was the WORST chick-fil-a experience I have ever had. When I walked into the establishment I was not greeted, and the restaurant was not busy even a little bit. Moving forward I approached the counter where a young man took my spicy chicken order. I have the app so it was a reward I was redeeming. I asked him to add lettuce, tomato and cheese to make it a deluxe and I would pay the difference. I paid 56 cents. When my order was given to me I check it and noticed lettuce had not been added. I approach the young man again (mind you there are no other guests In like at this time) and I tell him lettuce was not added to my sandwich. He approaches a manager (team leader) in the grey/striped shirt and proceeds to tell him what happened. The manager tells him that he didn't properly ring it up for the lettuce to be added so I need to pay extra. The young man approaches me, NEVER APOLOGIZES for his mistake, instead says it wasn't rung up with the lettuce so he can ring it up for me now. At this point I'm already getting frustrated, but again initially he was supposed to ring me up with all the extra toppings so I assumed I payed for it. Nevertheless I took out a quarter and paid the extra. I told him that I would like a fresh sandwich with all the proper toppings. I didn't want to be brought out a slice of lettuce. The young man says "well the Sandwich is fine it just needs the lettuce so idk if they will do that for u but I will check". This young team member then approach's the manager once again and the manager Okays my request. At this point still no apology has been given. I wait for my new sandwich, and when it comes out I decided to check it again. I look and now I have lettuce but the tomatoes are missing. So now I approach the counter again, letting the young man know the sandwich now doesn't have tomato's. He begins to laugh and then says "oh wow.. I'll tell them to remake it"AGAIN STILL NO APOLOGY! Not to mention at this point you all have made multiple mistakes, are laughing about wasting my time, and not one manager has even looked my way to apologize. WHAT upsets me the most is that I worked for chick fil a when I was in college, and I cannot believe the caliber of ppl this company is now hiring. ABSOLUTELY ridiculous, no customer service or communication skills at all! I am now waiting for my new sandwich and I tell the young man. "Listen, plz just tell them I was a spicy deluxe, that's it " it's literally a spicy sandwich and I paid for the extra toppings to make it a deluxe. It's very simple. He goes to the manager who is bagging orders and tells him. The manager at this point knowing how long I've been the the establishment, seeing how many times my order has been messed up , still does not apologize or approach me. Instead looks completely annoyed that I am still there! I was in disbelief! When my sandwich finally came out I figured that THIS TIME THE ORDER HAD TO BE RIGHT, not to mention I didn't feel like a valued guest. I felt like a burden to everyone here and I didn't do anything but order my food. I live only a few blocks away so when I got home to eat. The sandwich did have the proper toppings. However it was extremely stale. The bread was hard and the chicken was soggy as if the sandwich had been made 30 minutes prior and was just sitting there. If you've been to Chick-fil-A, then this experience is not that different. It's in the city, in a busy area. Funny thing is that it's next to a Red Robin and a McDonalds. Just walk down the line. The world is your oyster. Service at this location is exceptional just like other locations I've been to. There isn't too much waiting in line, and food comes out relatively fast. (Surprise, surprise, it's FAST FOOD.) There is plenty of seating, and it's clean throughout. You can't take this kind of thing for granted in the city! If you can't make up your mind about the bevy of choices in the city, this is safe, and they don't charge you more than they normally do just because it's in an urban location unlike other chains. We stopped by here after doing some shopping on a Tuesday evening. Seating: Spacious. There's plenty of room for groups and is clean. Service: Quick. Our food was out in under 5 minutes after we ordered. We also asked for a bunch of sauces and the lady was really friendly and gave us everything we asked for. I appreciated that the condiments, napkins, etc. were well stocked. Food: My chicken was well cooked and hot. The fries were not as crispy as I like and not piping hot, but they weren't bad. My bf liked his sandwich though. This Chick-fil-A is great after shopping! It is quick and convenient. I'll be back next time I'm in the mood for some chicken. read more

How could anyone possibly give this anything less than 5 stars? That I do not know. This is a fancy Chick-Fi-La. I like the interior design of it. It has a very urban feeling to it. The retrieval system is kind of weird. SPECIAL DELIVERY I had always wondered what was so special about this chicken sandwich. Then one day, I was sitting in my car, when an employee offered me a chicken sandwich. What? In fact, I was several blocks away from this actual location. He tapped on my window and at first I thought this chick-fil-a dude is lost. I was really surprised when he handed me a chicken sandwich. First I was impressed that the sandwich was still hot. Those professional warming bags and sandwich wrap are efficient. What the employee was really promoting was the new app for ordering. The coolest feature I saw was that I could order from the app and do curbside delivery. That comes in handy in downtown Chicago with limited free parking options. It's like having a drive thru without really having one. The chicken breast was really tasty. Each one is hand battered and never frozen and you can taste the freshness. I was not a fan of the bun which I tossed. It seemed like one of those cheap "Jewel brand" hamburger buns but the chicken breast was delicious. Would I come here? I'm not sure because I really avoid corporate franchise fast food. Was I happy to taste the chicken? Yes I was really impressed with the mobile app they were pushing. Technology can really drive a business and having an app where you can order, pay & choose a delivery/pickup option is really advanced. When I went to college in Arkansas, Chick-fil-A was late night gas station chicken after drunken club antics. I then started to see this particular chain show up in airports. Each experience I had was quite subpar. This past Wednesday I had a few drinks at Vertigo and was in need of some food. I thought about going to McDonalds on Chicago Ave to grab a Big Mac until I remembered this joint just opened a few weeks ago.
