I have been meaning to write this for a while. I have noticed, that when something does not go "perfectly" its any company's best opportunity to gain a loyal customer, basically by correcting the issue appropriately. Let me preface this by saying I have been going to Suddenly Slimmer for years and years just because I appreciate the quality of Dr. Jeffers' work. She knows her stuff and does a good job. I am a super busy profession and parent and have hardly any free time, so have taken to scheduling appointments for Botox/Dysport on work lunch hours because typically the appointments are so prompt and wait times so short. Maybe I've gotten spoiled by this at Suddenly Slimmer, I know a fact of operating any business is once in a while things don't go as expected and clients may have to wait. This happened to me and unfortunately I had to leave to return to work. Had I been a person with more free time maybe i wouldn't have minded. But I'm extremely busy and was bummed that I took time out of my work day and couldn't receive the treatment I was scheduled for. Here's where the 5 stars come in...The manager not only called me promptly to apologize for the experience--she offered me a modest free gift to compensate me for my lost time and as a token of goodwill. I came back the following Saturday, Dr. Jeffers did an amazing job with the Dysport (I've never been so frozen!) And I'm not going to lie, I love the gift and use it frequently, it did totally help me get over my frustrations over having to wait. So, no more frown lines on this girl, in many ways thanks to Suddenly Slimmer and their awesome customer service, skilled aesthetician, and amazing products. My name is not as it says but they know who I am. I'm very disappointed I was really looking for a spa that I could stick long term to based on their services and genuine aesthetician intentions. Initially they got me. I thought they cared and treated each individually as a special patient, SPECIALLY, when it's a treatment. I paid upfront in full for microneedling, each microneedling session was different. I understand the change of aesthetician per visit which is monthly, but as much as they may say they follow a treatment plan which is what you paid for, there is no coordination and they just go in to do a microneedling. Not sure if they keep records of exactly how it was done previously but my 2 treatments after my 1st were very low precision, or at a lower level than my first. My skin can handle it and I wish they would follow a treatment. I was told it would increase little by little if handled by the skin. Worse part is that in my LAST treatment I get offered, not offered, I get thrown an EXTRA SALE of charging $50, to get the SAME treatment but with a NEW BETTER PEN. On my last treatment. NO ONE could give an answer as to when the new pen was introduced. I had had my previous treatment not too long before my last. They brag it's much better and FDA approved like if I'm supposed to be soo happy they were using a non FDA approved of shittier quality. New technology comes up I get it, but the fact they never provided a date as to when this was new introduced is very wrong. So I did accept the SALE, paid $50 although my treatment was already paid in full. And WOW. Yeah the difference is A BIG DIFFERENCE. I feel scammed. I feel lied to. And it's very disappointing they have a fake professionalism. They are money orriented, the spa director is just the spa director, treats you like you don't exist unless she's speaking to you treating you. So rude and unprofessional. She has bosses pressuring to bring in numbers so that's what its all about at the end of the day for them. And the way employees leave and are switched just shows a lot about the work environment. As much as they may deny it. Also, they're soo good at charging $50 if you miss an appointment but they're soo good at messing up appointments on their behalf and have to reschedule you, Excuse me we also have plans and a set schedule throughout our day. Are you deducting $50 off my payment for you having to reschedule?? I think not right. Horrible. read more

I was very surprised that I enjoyed myself so much here. It was a sort of "get to know us" type of event that I attended. It's location is in an older strip mall that has seen a lot of changes lately. Suddenly Slimmer has definitely benefited by these upgrades. Right away, upon entering, you will notice the intense eucalyptus fragrance. Don't worry it fades after a bit as your nose get's used to it. It really seemed to calm me down and helped me to relax for my facial. That was very nice and the technician was sincere and friendly. Next up was my neck and shoulders massage. For this treatment, I had a new technician who was also eager to make the experience a great one. She was very thorough and I must say by the end of it, I just wanted to nap. Instead, I went and had a martini (or 2). 4 stars for atmosphere, professionalism and friendly staff. read more

I have been a client at Suddenly Slimmer for over 10 years now, and obviously love them since I've been going there for that long! I've had waxing, laser hair removal, Vit B shots, and a few facials there, but normally go for the waxing. I've had good experiences with all of the aestheticians there, but usually see Dannielli because she is after all, the "Queen"! ;-) Dannielli makes time go by so quickly and is an expert at not only whatever treatment she is doing, but also an expert at distraction. Let's be honest, waxing isn't necessarily the best feeling but Dannielli is great at conversation, so you'll be talking and before you know it you're done and your skin is so soft and smooth. (Side note: There are products that can help lessen the discomfort, but I'm a tough cookie and don't use anything) Dannielli really does quality work and makes sure the end result is perfection. I love also that it's a family owned and operated business. The whole family really cares about their clients and wants to make sure they have the best experience. I also love the friendliness of the front desk staff- whether in person or on the phone, the interactions always leave me smiling. The spa itself is so relaxing- whenever I walk through the door, I feel like any stress gets left outside. The music, the refreshments available- it all goes into the experience. And they also offer some great products, and while I never feel pressured to buy anything, I'm always happy with whatever I buy. Update 11/13/07: Well, it's been a while since my last review. Thought I would do an update. The spa was remodeled this summer and I must say it is a huge improvement. I have no idea if the "Lisa" I saw last year is still there. I did get a bad brow wax earlier this summer and a bad bikini wax (same person, I don't remember her name) and I would not have gone back if that had been my only experiance there and I probably would have given the spa 2 stars. However, a co-worker convinced me to try Danielli for the brazilian. She was fantastic and I have been back several times to see her. So... current rating reflects my experience with Danielli. Original review: This is a great place to get your brows waxed ($18). I see Lisa and she does a fantastic job, using a variety of techniques to shape the perfect brow. She waxes, threads and tweezes. The spa is currently under renovation and it unimpressive from the outside, but don't let that scare you away. I haven't tried their other services, but I have heard good things about the body wraps and massages. read more

I been seeing Tara for skin care for a couple years now and she is hands down the most amazing professional! Today I had the deep pore facial. I went in convinced there would be no hope. I had gone longer than usual between treatments and my skin was a disaster. I was a regular customer for two years. Unfortunately, after two terrible customer service experiences, I'm no longer a fan of this day spa. First incident happened back in June of last year. My regular esthetician was out. I set up an appointment with someone else. Boy was that a a mistake! It was the worst experience of my life, not worth my money, and I still have a scar under my left eyebrow from the burn I got. I called the salon to let them know about the poor quality of service and the nasty burn. What do I receive? $10 off my next service. Gee thanks. Don't let the name of the spa throw you off. While booking my massage, I was secretly praying it wasn't Weight Watchers affiliated because I wasn't looking to shave pounds. Who wants to go to a fatty spa? Well maybe, the massage tables must be extra wide. I received a warm welcome upon my arrival accompanied with yummy little chocolate chip cookies and green tea. My massage was phenomenal and I got to experience 50 minutes in heaven. Until my bank account can fund spa treatments at The Phoenician-- I highly recommend the S.S. Day Spa. read more

It's upsetting to me that this place offers 25% off with check-in AND A POSITIVE REVIEW. That's not very Yelptastic if you ask me, you can't buy peoples reviews. I would come to this place quite often for facials and chem peels. I loved my esthetician that I had there but then she left and I moved out to the East Valley so I stopped coming. Recently though, I came back for some products that my esthetician had made me use. When I walked in I wasn't greeted by the young lady at the counter, even though there was no other customers around and she wasn't on the phone. I walked around for a while looking for the products I had previously used and I couldn't find them. Finally, I went up to her and asked her for the skincare products. She looked at me like I had a booger hanging off my nose and said she had no idea what I was talking about. I didn't accept her answer, I told her that even though I wasn't getting a treatment this particular day, I had been a customer of their's and I had been given this product before. A manager walked past and saw that she and I were failing to communicate and intervened. She was kind enough to look for the product for me and said that they were out but they would have more the next day. I told her that I lived far away and wanted to make sure she did indeed have the product, she assured me that she did. So the next day I came back and had a Groundhog's Day all over again with the young lady working the counter - the end result - no skincare products. read more

I saw doctor Jeffers at the med spa. I ended up getting AB12 booster and a glutathione shot. I have been doing this routinley for many months and have noticed differences in my day-to-day life. The staff there are amazing, and I even opted to get botox to make me look younger. They do great reviews on Before & After photographs and what you actually need to feel better about yourself. I for one feel better after today's visit. I just turned 32 but I'm looking 22. read more

I think it's improving. Last time I reviewed this place I wasn't happy with the constant last minute cancellations from the spa. But I saw a Groupon for Diamond Micro and booked it, and ran my butt over there...okay that's a lie, I don't run. I'll have a damn asthma attack, I drove over there. Customer service WAY DIFFERENT!!!! I called, booked it, drove down, jumped on the table. The girl who worked on me was REALLY nice and really friendly. I liked her a lot. And I've had facials before, she wasn't like the creepy people that tell you to get undressed and get on the table, and as you're half naked they kick down the door like freakin' S.W.A.T. leaving you exposed to other customers. Nope, she was awesome, she was patient and made sure I was good to go, she knocked, waited for a response before entering. Her station was set up and ready to go, I love when they are ready for you, I've been other places where you make an appt and they act like they had no clue you were coming and set up last minute and fumble around unorganized. I purchased a Deal Chicken deal for a body wrap for $99 (normally $210). It was supposed to be 1.5 hours which I mistakenly assumed was the duration of the treatment. I scheduled my appt online (love when companies provide this option) and when I got there, I thought the place was very nice. They have a waiting room with tea and healthy snacks. I was brought back by Erika who got me set up with the locker and getting changed. Then when we got started with the wrap. She took measurements, wrapped me, and did a nice job checking my level of comfort throughout her wrapping. After I was wrapped, she had me stand on one of those vibrating machines for a half hour while I watched a chick flick. She checked on my a couple of times to add more of the wrap fluid. Then after the half hour was up, she unwrapped me and provided my measurements. Total she said I lost approx 14" which is cool. I think I was there for an hour max so I was a little confused on the total process since I thought it would be longer. When I checked out, the girl at the front (don't know her name, but she had long, black hair) asked if I wanted to add a gratuity. I said sure, grabbed my wallet and asked for change for a $20 (two $10s). She didn't have it up front, so she asked another guy with her. Then she left to find change. A few minutes later, she comes out and tells me she is going to get it. Then she disappears to the other side of the spa for a few minutes. Then she comes back with a woman who is leaving to get change. I asked how long it was going to take her, and said just a minute as her car was right next door. Then comes back in and said all she had was $1s. I was like, just forget it and gave them the $7 I had in my wallet. I said, I can't believe how hard it is to give a tip! This must have really pissed off the girl at the front (the long-haired girl) because she said me with a big, fake smile, "We also accept gratuities on cards" while she is nodding her head. I said I understand that but they should have the means to accept cash, as well. She replied really condescending, with a big smile, "Well, we are really sorry for the convenience." I said, "Yeah you really seem sorry." While this whole exchange is going on between me and the girl, another employee keeps complimenting me on my sweater. I told her where I got it and she kept asking me when did I get, etc. She had this gigantic grin on her face, too. At first I thought she was being nice but when she kept complimenting me while I am having this issue with the receptionist, it got so bizzare. As I walked out, I was like, what just happened???? I felt like I stepped out of the Twilight Zone. No freaking way will I go back. I honestly don't $210 is worth the price of the wrap at normal price. Besides that, the front desk is the first and last impression of an establishment and this place doesn't make the cut. read more

This is the only place I trust to go for acupuncture. Luzivone has treated me for over 10 years and I can't recommend her enough. I became a client for life when I was having recurring infections. After having gone to the ER after my first one and feeling terrible with the way I was treated there, with a long wait, a (unnecessary) CT scan with those nasty dyes, IVs, to finally be put on antibiotics, I knew I didn't want to do that ever again. When I was sick again a couple of months later I went to see Luzivone and immediately after the treatment I felt relief. She sent me home with a treatment plan and feeling much better. Now, whenever something isn't right, I call Luzivone right away. read more

Had a poor few recent experiences at this place. Not fair for a customer that's spent thousands over the year.

I think this place is fantastic! I'm hearing good things about the spa treatments, but never have tried them. I only come for the brazilian wax and I luckily haven't had a bad experience. I always make a point to tell the people how I want my wax done: AS QUICK AS POSSIBLE. I also request someone who has been there for over a year. Never had Danielli, the infamous Queen of Waxing, (but then I really don't remember the girls' names). The place seems very clean to me, the rooms are warm and I've never noticed a dirty pot of wax. I don't really understand the negative reviews I've read. The service is decent and nice never run into any problems. I will say that my massage this time did not give me as much relief and I don't feel like there is a good standard for their employees. They also suggested an anti aging facial, which is more expensive to me and I'm 25. I really just wanted a cleansing one but they convinced me I needed it. Looking back I don't agree. read more

I sorta have a love-hate relationship w/this place now. I've been here about 3 times in the last couple years, and it's pretty much been the same. Yes, I have gone for some med spa (anti-aging) procedures which ARE pretty painful, but a lot can be gained by doing this. :) The doctor seems pretty harsh (not very friendly) and clinical. This doesn't jive well when there are needles being stuck in my head. At all. She seemed bothered and rolled her eyes when I asked for numbing shots. Get this - her attitude did a complete 180 when she asked me my job title AND employer. Guess whose son works for my employer? Hers. She was then (I felt anyways) kissing my ass. I didn't like this at all - those types of ppl disgust me. Especially in a customer service/clinical setting. Not cool. But, her work is pretty amazing - at least I'm satisfied w/her results. It's just dealing w/her fake personality/rough demeanor. So, I'll give them 2.5/5 stars. read more

My experience with this facility only goes as far as their inability to schedule and cancel appointments. First, I called to make an appointment to have a filler consultation and the girl that answers the phone ask your name as part of her greeting, why bother she didn't remember it! I was also surprised they charge for a consultation with the doctor but the RN can see you for free. I scheduled my appointment for Wednesday and gave her my credit card information, as their standard practice is to charge a fee for short cancellation and no shows. After thinking about this practice, I decided to cancel since I had done some research and Dr. Jeffers did not have positive comments online and I really wanted to ask her about the procedure she would be performing and not the RN. When I called to cancel my appointment we discovered they scheduled me a week later than expected! Good thing I didn't drive over an hour to find that out. Needless to say, I happily cancelled my appointment. Next, I was sent another appointment reminder roughly 24 hours prior to my already cancelled appointment, really? I cancelled this appointment a week ago?!?! I don't know if they were hoping I would not call again so they could charge my card but I called them immediately to cancel yet again. Furthermore, I sent an email to validate my cancelation. I feel as though they would have tried to charge my card for their mistake. My suggestions Suddenly Slimmer: Write down the name of the person on the phone if your going to ask for it. Don't start our relationship asking for a credit card, it looks tacky. I wish I had great results. The dr. Insisted I needed more filler than anyone else had recommended but I went with what she said. Paid almost $1000 to be left with horrible lumps and uneven overfilled area above my lip. They refuse to admit that she used too much or refund my money so that I can pay to have the filler above my lips dissolved. I have cried everyday because I feel like a freak. All I wanted was the little lines around my mouth from smoking filled. The doctor that day just wanted to sell. Before I could leave she tried to sell me face lotion for another $170. This place is unscrupulous and is all about upselling just to make more money. No regard or concern for the effects of shoddy work can do to a person's self esteem. I just want a refund to have it dissolved asap. I have felt so embarrassed and humiliated. read more

I have to honest. I am very unsatisfied with them. I went to do the "Lip Pop" And even though I have big lips already I was only looking to pop my top lip, she did address other options as she needed to which were the fillers. She agreed for what I wanted doing the Lip Pop would be perfect. Lip Pop is done using Botox. She injected 8 units just into my top lip that day I was a little swollen but the next day and on you could not tell that anything was even done to my lip. I was upset! I was so upset I just cancelled my follow up because their service was a waste of my money. Highly dissatisfied! You want great work done, I highly recommend Derma ArtMed Spa! Definitely got the results I was looking for. Update: I keep being told that I needed to wait 2 weeks to notice results, when writing this review, it had been almost 4 weeks since the Botox was done and still did not see results. If you read my review correctly it say "The next day and on..." please read fully and clearly before commenting and assuming that I did not give the result to appear enough time, when I did. I would not have wrote the review without giving enough time for the results to kick in. I've learned that companies dilute their products and I feel Suddenly Slimmer is one, who knows. They have done nothing to correct the issue of an unsatisfied customer but assume that I did not give it enough time. When clearly it was more then enough time and then they want to comment over a month later! Shame on you Suddenly Slimmer. As the owner you should be way more professional. read more

I was in town for a week and needed to get some 'personal maintenance' done (aka waxing of various bits). I initially called their sister store, but was told I can get an appointment right away if I come to Suddenly Slimmer instead. No worries, so here I came. The reception space is well laid out, but it does feel like a big showroom and I immediately braced myself for an up sell. The treatment rooms are quite basic but adequate... quick note, the walls are not thick so conversations can be heard through walls. The beauty therapist who did my waxing was technically very good, but sloppy round the edges. She covered a couple of my nails in wax when we were doing a bikini wax. Puzzling indeed. I assume this is one of the premium beauty places in town - I don't think it's quite at that level (from what I consider premium spa) but it's adequate. read more

Have been coming here for over 6 months for twice a week lymphatic massages. The massage therapist who's been there forever is so great. Based on her quality of appointments, I booked laser hair treatment for underarms. The lady Priscilla was good and so I bought a package of 8. Around the third time, I decided to do my lower legs. I was told by tech and front desk (I had called in for pricing and looked at the website) that feet were included. Had zero issues and then today.. today was a nightmare. Came in for my appt and immediately it was a new person; someone I'd never met before. My scheduled appt was with Priscilla and with zero notifications prior, I was moved to someone else. This person didn't introduce themselves and started asking me things that should've been in my chart. She was brand new. Literally brand new and no one thought it was important for me to know beforehand. The service was awkward and she had no idea what she was doing. After when I was checking out I expressed my concern about not being informed I'd be with someone new AND someone new to laser. The front desk lady apologized and we booked my next appt with a more experienced tech. Then I got a call 10 mins after leaving that I didn't pay for my feet. I was like what? The feet have always been included with the lower leg... this is my 4th time doing the service and I've never been charged. This isn't something that just wasn't charged before, it was literally something INCLUDED in my service. The lady stated that since I've been in last the policy had changed and that they needed to charge me. So.. again. Zero communication and horrible experience right after me saying how horrible of an experience I had just had!! I've spent sooooo much money here and they treated me like they didn't care one bit about my concerns. Really really upsetting. Not at all how customer service should be. read more

Don't waste your time on the body wraps. They're a total scam! I wanted to lose that last couple inches before a Christmas vacation to the beach so I figured I would give it a try. Wrapped in wet ace bandages for an hour while working out on a gazelle is not a recipe to lose a few inches. Otherwise I could do that at home. When my "technician" unwrapped me she told me to look at how cloudy the water is and that those are all the toxins in my body. I was born during the day but not yesterday. Ace bandages soaking in a "solution" are probably going to result in dirty water. Needless to say I didn't see a bit of difference AT ALL. Not right after, not the next day. Its easy to fake you out too because they'll "measure" you all over your body and all they have to do is tighten that measuring tape just a little after the procedure to record a "difference". Covers their butt. What a painful and expensive lesson. Learn from my mistake. I want my money back but I doubt that will happen. read more

I recently got my lips done with Dr. Jeffers. This is my first time getting them done and she did exactly what I wanted. I'm only on my second day of healing but I had no problem with bruising and the lump in my lips went away after a few hours. This is great because I bruised really easily. I really love the results. I'm not sure how this place gets such great ratings. Personally, I think they run an unethical business: First of all, the building is old, not welcoming. The rooms are outdated and smell funny. Second, the bring you in to speak to a consultant who is trying to upsell you on all sorts of services. I went in last week and dropped over $1000 bucks on botox and juvederm (my first visit). The doctor who consulted with me was brusque and rude -- certainly not reassuring to someone who had never had botox and expressed discomfort with needles. THis week I had to cancel an appointment for a body wrap. When I called (three hours prior to service), they informed me they were charging me 1/2 of the cost of the service as a cancellation fee (which would have been $150). I said absolutely not and that I did not sign anything to that effect. They informed me that is their cancellation policy and that I should have received an email or call informing so. I did not receive any text or emails. When I said, they could not charge anything to my credited card, they agreed to only charge a $25 cancellation fee. I agreed to that charge, but honestly, I would never go back to them. read more
