I went here because I had a Groupon for the Rio Wax Salon and they couldn't get me an appointment for when I needed it. The waiting area was nice but no one told me about the refreshments on the other side. I'm presently trying places to find one that fits me best before I settle on one to go to regularly. The front desk and others I saw just didn't impress me as how one should look working for a high end salon which to me is what their prices imply. I wasn't told about any upkeep products that I might have actually been interested in. Wednesday was the girl I had and she did a great job on my brows and took care of all the hair for my Brazilian. My only complaint is that there was more bleeding than I usually expierince from getting some skin and within a couple of days I was getting stubble like I'd shaved. Usually I don't have any regrowth for at least a week and it grows in soft which leads me to believe the hair was more broken than pulled out. Guess I'll keep looking. read more

I've been going here for a few years now (before they got tons of attention). Let me start by saying Danielli is the best person for anything in there. Problem is shes always at least two weeks booked now if not more. They recently remodeled, but I have mixed feelings on it. The new receptionist staff is not as good as the old one, but this is the only place I will go for my brows. I've also had chemical peels, micro-dermabrasion, and other treatments here. The front office is completely unprofessional. I have been to this place several times, but today will forever be my last. They interrupted my treatment 3 times in a row, and even asked to run my card while I was getting treatment. Treatment was stopped so that I could pay and I was very upset. I had to leave the room I was being treated at and go to the front desk so that I could pay. Who the heck does that? I asked why it was necessary that I pay mid-way through my service and their response was that they needed to know whether my credit card was gonna go through. I will never Return to this Place. You can get better treatment and better Service every where else. read more

I went to Suddenly Slimmer to get a massage. The massage was good, the service was TERRIBLE. My masseuse told me to tell the girls at the front to give me the introductory price, which is about $69 for a one hour, rather than $95. When I told the receptionist, she gladly said yes, and took my credit card. When she handed me my receipt, I noticed that I had been charged $105, which is the intro price for a 90min massage. A simple mistake, so I thought. When I told her that she had charged me for a 90min, and I had only had a 60min, she informed me that she would have to call down her manager to refund the $35. I said that was fine and she went to get the manager, came back a couple minutes later to tell me that the manager was in the middle of something, and that I would have to wait a little bit. Again, I said alright, and sat down. After 45mins of waiting, I couldn't stay any longer, and asked if I could take care of this the next day. She said of course, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. When I came in the next day I found out that there had not been a manager on the previous day, she had been sick. Then when I asked for my refund, it took about an hour and I was only able to get credit for the spa. I am absolutely appalled at the service at Suddenly Slimmer, and clearly, so is everyone else. I would give this place only one star if it wasn't for the good (not great, but good) massage. read more

Just a little update...Rio is the sister concept of SSDS and is just across the street. If you can book with Sarah over there i recommend it. Love Dannielli, HATE the total lack of customer appreciation from just about everybody else who works there :(. I have been a loyal customer for at least five years now and used to receive really great customer service, especially when Dannielli had Rio open on 32nd St.!! Since she moved back over to the spa site though the customer service has been terrible and what's worse is that nobody seems to really care. In fact, the woman, Jenna I believe her name was, seemed quite pleased with herself when I told her I would be taking my business elsewhere. I am new to the area and I was searching for a place to get a massage near my house. I stumbled upon a google coupon for Suddenly Slimmer Day Spa introductory massage. I called to make the earliest appointment....I was shocked by my conversation with the receptionist. Not only did she explicitly tell me they wouldn't honor the google coupon that popped up in my search, she said I had to give her my credit card number to book the appointment. Not sure what sort of crooked establishment this place is, but they have lost me and my circle of friends as a potential customer. I decided to make an appointment to get a facial on my birthday. I scheduled it during my lunch break because it would only take about an hour or so. My appointment was at noon. I was told they were running a "few minutes late" which was no problem. I finally left at 12:45 after they hadn't yet started. The employees apologized and said it was a "scheduling issue". If they had issues they could have called and changed my appointment instead of wasting my time. They seem too disorganized for me to consider going back. It's too bad because it's really close by and they offer many different treatments. read more

Don't get me wrong the wax was done well...painful but flawless....reception asked me "how was it??" Which is inappropriate following a Brazilian. If you've ever had one you'd know that with that kind of question you just want to ask "how the hell do you think it was?" Then they over charged me $15 dollars. I canceled my appointment and they called me to ask why so I let them know and they gave me a credit to my acct. which was nice I might come back because the wax was so good. What a mistake! I booked an appointment here for my boyfriend and I at the last min (V-day). Couples massage, wrap and a few other things. This is also AFTER reading all of the previous reviews here. I figure: A. I was lucky to have found a place that could get us in; B. Why not give them a chance! I was feeling unsure about my decision but....it was booked, we may as well go. Man oh man.... First - even though I had requested one room for the both of us; they had set up 2 separate ones. Then, instead of receiving 4 fun treatments, 1 was cut for both of us. We were supposed to have a great 3.5 hours at the spa and got only 2! What really flipped me was when we went downstairs to pay they tried to charge me $100 more! After I complained they said that I'd misunderstood the package and what I thought was the amount for both of us was actually per person - meaning they wanted double what I had originally booked! After 30 min of complaining to a manager on duty we finally got the original price ($410 no less). After paying, the manager gave us 2 coupons for 50% off our next visit. I'm not so sure we'll be using them. read more

Came here to get lip injections and have bumps to this day. I was told by another spa that the filler she used was not the norm and it may account for the botched outcome. What made everything worse was that when I came in to show her my uneven, bruised, bumpy lips she said it was my fault because I'm STRESSED, that it doesn't happen to her clients who are always relaxed. That doesn't even make the slightest of sense. I'm a medical student and I'm sure others get their lips done...... she was definitely projecting and it made me uncomfortable every time I came by for her to stab a needle in my lip and try to push the filler out (painful). At one point I gave up, I didn't want to see her and have her tell me it's somehow my fault so I stopped and have bumps to this day. Just waiting for the bumps to dissolve as the filler does although it's been many months, the filler she used was supposed to last up to a year or maybe more (don't quite remember 100%). I had a great experience here for the Brazilian wax I got yesterday! I had been getting waxed for the past 2 years at a location that was almost a 45 minute drive for me and finally I decided to get smart and look for a new place to have it done. I decided to give Suddenly Slimmer a call after reading an article about them in the little free Perfection magazine I get at my local CVS. They are centrally located and that is a plus! I called for an appointment and to my surprise they were able to get me in with Danielli herself the very next day at 9:30! Definitley wasnt expecting that but eagerly accepted. I arrived the next morning (after working all night) and was greeted immediately by the front desk staff. (They were normal looking ladies, not the intimidating couldnt be bothered Barbie types at all). Now whoever was saying that the location was in a bad area of town must live a very sheltered life because it is not that bad! I had no fear driving into or walking into the building! Ive seen some scarier places in some parts of Ahwatukee where I live, LOL! Anyway, I was quickly checked in and given my paperwork to fill out before my waxing session. Once I completed the forms I sat down in the tidy little waiting room off to the right and watched an infomerical like thingee on the flat screen and helped myself to some herbal tea. I didnt get a chance to finish either one because within about 7 minutes I was warmly greeted by the waxing queen herself, Danielli! She has a big bright smile and instantly put me at ease! She took me back to the room which was spotless. It was a little tight but VERY clean, I could see all the products she would be using. She told me how to disrobe and where to lay and once I was on the table , she put on her gloves and quickly got to work! Now this is the part where I was won over. Danielli has a knack for making you feel comfortable while she is conversing with you. She makes you feel like you are already one of her friends! She asks questions and and also listens very well. You are put at ease by her friendly demeanor and she explains thngs clearly! I am not a brazilian "virgin" so I knew what to expect and I experienced nothing more than the normal short bursts of discomfort you get from waxing this area. She is fast and effecient and wastes no time giving you what you want. Also, being a person of color, I have some issues with ingrowns and possible scarring and she reassured me that her method would minimize or not do neither (I realize nothing is guaranteed though!). She also gave me tips on how to care for my sensitive skin and gave me some pointers on what to use for my ingrowns too! Within 25 minutes she was done and this was after shaping (with little scissors) and working on a few ingrowns I had! I looked down and lo and behold it was PERFECT! She did say she was a perfectionist and I have to agree! Danielli walked me out, showed me the product I was looking for (again for my ingrowns), explained how it works and when to start using it, took me to the front desk, gave me her card and waited until I started checking out to say goodbye! First class service direct from the Boss lady herself, what a treat! The past place I was going to pales in comparision to what I received from Danielli and her staff yesterday. They have gained another customer in me FOR SURE! I would highly recommend Suddenly Slimmer Day Spa for your next Brazilian wax. ETA: I had my lip waxed and my brows touched up by another tech and I was not impressed with the other person's skills at all. Her breath was not pleasant and I thnk I may have a tiny scab on the right of my lip from her! But I still will give them all 5 stars based on my main service I received! read more

Went to try a test patch for the new laser hair removal system, Soprano Ice. Left in pain and 1/4 of my tattoo lasered!!!!!! One of the worst feelings ever is laser tattoo removal, especially when you are not trying to have your tattoo lasered. Needless to say, it blistered and scabbed, took about 3-4 weeks to heal. I now have to get my tattoo redone!!!!! I would never ever go here again for laser hair removal! read more

This place is ridiculous and so desperate for customers! I just received 2 same text messages, which is some advertisement about them (I never agreed to be txted for any of their advertisements). Unfortunately, I used their service several years ago and I was completely unsatisfied and I never came back. After so many years, I forgot about them and now they just reminded me that they are still the rock bottom of discontent! If they did care about their customers at all, they will try to make us with an impressive service their customers, so that we have a reason to come back and not just sending us some advertisements. A good word out there, is better than any other advertisement. A good care of clients, is better than any other advertisement. Just now, I made a phone call to Suddenly Slimmer Day Spa and explained that I did receive the advertisement through text messages and asked them to be removed from their system, so I don't get bothered again. She confirmed that she did and I hope she is right, because if I receive something like this again, I will whine even louder and bigger. If they did (seriously) care at all, they would know that I didn't returned for so many years and they would know that back then I complained about their bad customer service. And, I do not need now to waste my text messages on their advertisement and I do not need to waste my valuable time to give them a call to remove me from their system, but to do something about their mistakes, be more concerned and to show that they care. I am revising my earlier review which totally slammed this place. This would be my advice if you would like to try their body wraps. Do your research before you go in. Maybe go in for a consultation ahead of time so that they can explain to you exactly what it entails, what your diet should be while you are doing it, and what EXACTLY to expect. I did not do this and I was disappointed with the results. The wraps did not work for me, but I guess they must work for others or this place wouldn't be in business. Be forewarned, they do a lot of beauty/diet product sales here, so be prepared for a presentation of products after your treatment. If you're like me and don't want to hear a pitch after your treatment, maybe just let them know that up front. A lot of people obviously like this spa, and without any further judgement, I'll just say it's not my cup of tea. read more

I went to Suddenly Slimmer a while ago for a brazilian wax, because they are supposed to be know for that service, right? The girl that did the wax told me that she was sick with a cold, and she sounded congested, etc. It was super fast, but once I got home I saw that it was pretty bad. Stray hairs everywhere that were clearly visible. I don't know if this is typical of Suddenly Slimmer or if it was just because the girl wasn't feeling well, but I won't be going back to find out. read more

I made an appointment for dysport for a Friday at noon. I never got a confirmation call so I called the day of at 11:30 to see if my appt. was at noon. I made this appointment a week before. Keep in mind, I decided to head out there anyways while I called and the girl over the phone tells me they changed my appointment because I didn't give them a credit card on file. FUNNY, the receptionist failed to mention that while she was making my appt. As I expressed my frustration with the woman on the phone it seemed as if I was the crazy one. She claims they emailed me for my cc and supposedly they called me. I explained that if I got a call why wouldn't you leave a voice mail like any normal work place would do. Also, I have a commercial to shoot Monday and got screwed over. Very upset. You would think a manager would of at least tried contacting me in apologizing for there end of the mistake. this place is like 45 minutes away from my home I was literally half way there. I wouldn't support a business that doesn't care if they loose people. there are hundreds of botox places in my area that I rather give my money too. Someone needs to coach there staff on communication and customer service. read more

Buyer beware! They are very good at upselling you without you even knowing it! I called to make appointment for detox wrap. They asked if I was interested in the "Fat Burner" addition for $30 for tummy. Sure! But they had actually upsold me to a Fat Burner Wrap that costs $85 more. When I called to complain I was told they would listen to my initial phone call and get back to me. So far two weeks and no word from them. Also, my first wax there was great. But the girl I had left (I wonder why) and I was given to Cassandra. Had stubbles the very next day. So I won't be going back anytime soon! read more

After 4 phone calls from them requesting different information from me prior to my appointment, 1 day and time change I finally made it to my appointment. I was given nuerous packages of paperwork to fill out prior to my facial skin tightening laser. I was informed the person I was booked for was running behind. It was 30 - 40 minutes before she saw me. They took a photocopy of my drivers license, not happy about that. I had the most painful experience of my life with absolutely no results other than I am out money and wasted 1 1/2 hours between phone calls, paperwork, waiting for my appointment and having the proceedure. Don't go here!!! Very Bad!! First off when I got there and finally was taken into the Dr's room, she said, I don't have any appointments why are you bringing her in here. That's just not good to begin with. Needless to say things just got worse from there. I was there for Botox and fillers. I now have black a blue marks all over my face. I have had Botox and fillers before and never have I had black and blue marks all over my face. I am disgusted and will not recommend this horrifying place to anyone. I booked a couples massage for my birthday, using the spa's online booking feature. My partner and I arrived for our massages, only to learn that the spa had no record of my reservation. It had been a rough day, and I was SO looking forward to the massages and a dinner afterward. Boy, were we upset; I burst into tears. We ended up driving to Camelback to see if they had any openings; they didn't. We went out to dinner, and had a very nice time. But I would never visit this spa again after their mismanagement of my reservation. There's no point in using an online feature if it doesn't work! read more

I have been to many different doctors and nurses for Botox treatment throughout the years. I have had all of the Bad experiences too!! Well I've got to tell you that after Dr. Jeffers did my Botox I look fantastic!! My eyebrows are arched in perfect symmetry. It's unbelievable how great and smooth my forehead looks as well. I'm super critical of Everyone out there because of my bad earlier experiences but Dr Jeffers is Amazing!! She knew exactly where to place the Botox and how much to use. I will be back. I specifically told the esthesician that I (unfortunately) dont posses tamable eyebrows- they grow downwards, thus they require meticulous shaping. She claimed she understood and would do an excellent job. However, when I looked in the mirror,my eyebrows were choppy and were plainly shaped. $25 down the drain. I'm all done. I've been a customer for several years, and have put up with appointment screw-ups, and technician "delays" but I can't take it anymore. Phoenix is the 5th largest city in the country, so I'm sure I can find another salon/spa that will expect their people show up ON TIME for my appointment, and deliver the level of customer service that will ensure my repeat business.
