This is some good catfish. In an old establishment, but catfish was really good, not greasy, fresh and seasoned right. Wish there was one in Houston so I could eat it more often. read more

First, time me and my wife have tried Sudie's and it was very very good. The best catfish and shrimp that we've had in a long time. We just can't believe we have never tried Sudie's even though I grew up in Pasadena and I even had a brother work there. Well , I'd probably give it a 5 star but the sides are average. I think that Sudie's only cares about the Crawfish, Our wait for seating was not to long, It took a long time to get our food. Due to no plates clean Per our waiter. We did not have the crawfish! The owner was walking around only talking to customers that were not happy are where eating crawfish. As I could tell. If your going to run a Business, You need the staff to run it. Sudie's at one time was a great place to eat, The shrimp was not that good, And everyone is running trying to get the Crawfish out first, I and my family have all worked at Restaurants, You take care of everyone the same way! And I Know that the Crawfish is cooked In large amounts. But have the Personal to handle the customers that are not eating just crawfish. And a place that don't do Senior Citizens Discount! I hope Sudie's Starts taken better care of all there Customers! Are just start selling CRAWFISH! Hate they Closed the Webster-ish location down. This place has some awesome fried food. Love their fried shrimp plater. It is delicious. What steals the show are their hush puppies....man I LOVE their hush puppies dipped it that yummy tartar sauce they service. I can just eat those alone and be super duper happy. My dad and I wanted to try the place out during a lunch break. To our surprise they weren't too overly busy, but it was a bit off lunch hour when we went in. The menu is well stocked, and the crawfish looked great. I was going to do something a little healthier, but the all you could eat shrimp was calling my name. It's a great deal considering the price. If I recall it was around $12 and it includes two sides. I got the fries and broccoli; trying to be somewhat healthy. The shrimp are good, but make sure to place your order for the next batch as soon as you get the first. It takes them a few minutes to get them out to you, but hey at least you know they're fresh. Our server was extremely nice, and helpful with our visit. The restaurant has a bit of old country feel if you can't tell from the pictures. I'd definitely go again. Its a local family friendly seafood house. I tried their shrimp and fried catfish.... the winner -- the catfish. Seasoned just right, its great! Fries are good, especially with their custom ketchup. Hushpuppies were too hard and dried once but good another time. Overall good place. read more

Lunch on a Saturday - liked that they had lunch specials offered on a weekend. Ordered seafood trio with crawfish tails, shrimp and stuffed crab. Food was fried and breaded nicely, although stuffing in crab and hushpuppies very bland tasting. The dipping sauces were not good - cocktail sauce frozen and the tartar sauce was like melted mayo. When I first visited this place a few years ago I had reservations after the looks by some of the staff but I ate here anyway because of my daughter, it being her birthday. After we visited again today I'm sad to report a horrible experience that validated my initial feelings. After waiting to be seated, we wait another 15 minutes for someone to come to our table, but no one never did. I had to go to the hostess station to ask for a waiter/waitress. After we asked for one, someone (not our waitress) came over and took our drink orders and delivered our drinks. It was another almost 10 minutes before we had a waitress come to our table. She took our orders and almost 20 minutes later we were still waiting on our food when she came over to tell us that they were out of what we ordered. Mind you, by now we had already almost been there for close to an hour only for her to tell us she doesn't have what we ordered. We told her we didn't want to order anything else and ask her to clear our ticket. She clears the tickets of all but the drinks. I called the manager over because I felt like it was unfair to charge us for the drinks when we had already been waiting almost an hour and still didn't have any food and had hardly drank any of our drinks (to say we've been there as long as we had). The manager's response was that we would still have to pay for the drinks because we had drank some of them already, even after I explained how long we had been there and how long we'd been been waiting to order or just to have a waitress. He never apologized and seemed nonchalant about the situation. In the midst of all of this they bring out a kids meal that I ordered for my niece (which I would have gladly paid for) and even after I explained the situation to the lady that brought the food out, she just told me to keep it because they would only take it to the back and throw it away anyway. When our waitress brought back the ticket she took the food that my niece (2 years old) was actively eating (they literally took it off the table while my niece was eating it) explaining that because they took it off the ticket they would have to take it back. Although we thought it was unfair we did not argue and we paid for our drinks. I'm very disappointed in my experience and as many years as we have been going here, we have never experienced the service that we did today. I usually don't write reviews on restaurants, but the horrible service on top of the lack of concern the manager showed for the service we received prompted me to write this one. read more

Where do I start waitress had our cups full the whole time! Crawfish was so good and they were HUGE and my kids were able to eat them too. The seafood cheese fondant was DELICIOUS , the kids burgers by the looks were BIG and they were good (by the small piece my daughter let me taste). And I got the Magnolia Seafood Pasta w/salad the plate was so big and it was so freaking good had all sorts of seafood creatures in there my lawd it was GOOD! the salad was also really good and fresh for being our first time it was worth it and I don't even care about the drive considering I live 30 minutes away ! read more

Great spot for good homemade food. I've never been a huge catfish fan until very recently when my BF reintroduced me to it. I definitely had to have the catfish here and it was delicious. I couldn't stop eating the hush puppies. Most of the food they offer is fried, but they do have a some grilled options. The also offer shrimp and oyster. I recommend this spot for catfish lovers. Me and my husband go there at least a couple times a month. I am a sucker for the corn nuggets! Coming from someone who doesn't eat much seafood, the catfish is great! Sudie's Catfish House. What can I say? I used to eat here a lot and always felt a bit ill when I left. I now believe it was the frying grease. My wife persuaded me to eat here again in early 2013 and convinced me to try the new "Cajun" breaded batter. What a difference a batter makes. I eat here all of the time now. No illness afterward. Having said this, I want to give them a very high rating for Sunday's meal (3/2/2014). I had the AYCE shrimp while the wife had the AYCE Catfish (Cajun batter). Wow!!! The initial plate of food was hot and plenteous. The refills were exactly the same way. I was impressed! Although they have turned over almost the entire wait staff, service and attention to customers was good. I have often weighed in Bubba's Shrimp Palace in the recent past, but Sudie's has their act together now. We have invited so many friends and families here and we all go back!
