They are known for their cute rubber duckies and their thin pancakes that have been around since 1941 which were delicious. Very friendly place with fast service. Other things we had on their breakfast menu was just okay.

Everything was cooked right and fast! Always love this place. I forgot my drink so that was on me

You can never go wrong with sugar n spice! Good food, good staff and free ducks. The ducks are my favorite! I always order pancakes, sausage, chicken wings, and hash browns and I'm never disappointed. A staple restaurant in the Cincinnati area.

It would be such a cute little gem if it was clean. Food was pretty average. Nothing special breakfast wise. Your typical American breakfast. I did find a hair at the edge of my plate on the pancakes. After I had eaten half. YIKES You could see the kitchen staff from where we were sitting and one guy was on his phone with his fingers in his nose. Probably wouldn't go back or recommend. Sorry!

I enjoyed this! The ambiance was adorable and you get a free rubber duck with your order. The food was basic but in a way that felt very cozy. I would love to go back on a more crowded day since it was not very busy when I went.

We heard about this place, famous for its wispy, thin pancakes. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The pancakes were all that and very good. The service was top notched, the eggs fluffy, the goetta (sausage with oats, something like scrapple), the coffee smooth and the ducks were plentiful. Yep, they have rubber duckies by the basketfuls. I don't know the story of the ducks but I had a great time digging through and picking out about 6 or so...don't judge! I loved sitting g at the counter and watching the servers keep it all moving. Shout out to our server Ashley who was so nice, working as smooth as a duck on water. Please stop by!

Still one of the staples of Cincinnati. Great comfortable breakfast spot with Goetta! Great atmosphere with a model train running through the ceiling. Great and fast service with a smile. I always come back when I'm driving through at breakfast.

First time at Sugar n' Spice and it was fantastic. Might be my new favorite breakfast spot in the city. The food was delicious and arrived to the table quickly. Prices were even better. Spent $31 total. Lots of parking. Clean place. Delightful service. A tell this place uses REAL butter. Started with the half order of blueberry pancakes. They're thin pancakes. Not too sweet. I think pancakes for the table are a must order. The breakfast burrito was so good. Another must order. Got it with bacon. Love the house made salsa. Crispy tortilla. The breakfast sandwich was great. I would love to know where they get the English muffin from. I do wish they used one big sausage patty instead of two smaller ones. But the sausage tasted great. Hash browns are top notch but I wish they were a little bit crispier.

Love the fact that this location opened after many months of renovation. We were excited to finally have a local diner around our neighborhood. There's room for improvement, hence the 3 stars, but I believe they can be excellent with some tweaks. All the staff were incredibly welcoming and warm. They gave us suggestions on what to get and made sure we got a rubber ducky on the way out. The service times, however, were too slow. Took about 15-20 min after being seated to order drinks. Then another 15-20 min to order food. Then another 15-20 min for food to arrive. That's close to 45 minutes of waiting around. Food itself is what you would expect of any local diner -- good sized portions, fried eggs, buttery pancakes, and crispy potatoes. Also the orange juice and diner coffee fit the vibe perfectly. We enjoyed our meal, but definitely come in knowing what to expect. The whole experience was overall positive, but there's room to improve. Specifically the service times and turnover. We'll be back to give it another try!

A Cincinnati classic for a reason!! As a pancake connoisseur, theirs are incredible. Perfect with a side of goetta. Others at our table enjoyed their meal, and I enjoyed stealing home fries from my husband. And I guess who doesn't love getting a rubber duck with your meal?

Great atmosphere. Warm welcome. Service needs a little help. Perhaps a new waitress. Very sweet, but slow to check on us. Try to make it easy for her after we placed our order to bring us her check, but of course she forgot. My breakfast special made perfect per my specifications.

We waited for an hour to get our food. Then it came out cold. The English muffins were soggy. The hash was very salty.

We got there at around 9:10 and were first offered a seat inside but it was so loud in there the hostess couldn't hear what we were saying and vice versa, so we got a spot on the patio. Our sever was very nice, but service was VERY slow for a Sunday night. She told us they were busy the night before because of a conference and they were still in town that day, so the bar inside was busy. After ordering our drinks it took about 15 minutes to get them, and she didn't even take our food order when she came back despite us being ready. We waited, no problem. We ordered a 'Spice Bag' and it was decent but took about 25 minutes to get to us despite being potatoes and onions in a bag. For 40 minutes we waited for our food and when it came out it was terrible. I ordered the Fish and Chips and Caesar Salad to share and both were mediocre at best and inedible at worst. If you come here: DO NOT GET THE FISH AND CHIPS. They were battered nicely, but aside from that the fish didn't feel fully cooked and tasted like nothing, with a hint of dirty water. The tartar sauce seemed homemade, but didn't have any flavour. The coleslaw was boring and watery, with no flavour. Our server never checked up on us during the meal, so I never got the chance to ask for something else, so I was just stuck with the fries it came with. I know what good fish and chips should taste like and it's not that. Others ordered the curry and the wings and seemed to enjoy it, which is nice. However, 30 minutes after placing our order we were told that the kitchen "ran out of rice" and they asked us what we would like to replace it. When the curry came out, it was missing the naan but again, server never came to check on us so we didn't notice until the end of our meal. Overall, it's a cute place that feels Irish, but service is slow and food is terrible. Our server was lovely and it wasn't her fault that she was busy with tables, but management should be doing more when they know there's a conference in town to set their servers up for success.

Going back and forth on stars for this one. Me and around 30 of my coworkers came into town for a…read moretwo day workshop and they got us a room block at this hotel. I ended up being in the North Building and cracked up when I walked into my room and saw I was in one of the Lightwell Lofts (a few of us ended up in them by chance, guess they included them in our room block lol). While the room was super cool and beautiful, there was a lot to be desired. After taking a million photos of the gorgeous room, I quickly realized a major flaw - the bedroom is upstairs, the bathroom is downstairs, and the staircase between the two is a crazy narrow spiral staircase. As someone that gets up to pee in the middle of the night, having to traverse the spiral stairs was terrifying lol. One of my coworkers actually swapped with someone who had a "normal" room because he was worried about falling down the stairs. My downstairs tv wouldn't turn on. I fiddled with the remote a bit, tried rearranging the batteries, but couldn't turn it on. I used the ipad in the room to put in a maintenance request, but no one came. I figured I would just let the front desk know when I headed out to dinner that night. Hours later, the front desk calls me to see if anyone had come to fix the tv - they hadn't. The girl was very nice and apologetic, she said I sent the request in the middle of a shift change and someone had accidentally marked it as complete. So she said someone would be right up, and he did come up. Handed me a handwritten note and a $25 coupon for Coppin's which was totally unexpected and a very nice gesture. Turned out, he knew exactly what the problem was - he said the remote was broken and he was supposed to swap it out but forgot. Gave me a new remote and all was good. He also mentioned there is a second remote upstairs for that tv. After he left, I went to look for it - there was no second remote. We held our meetings in the Scheper Room, which was also beautiful. The room was absolutely freezing the first day and I'm someone that prefers it a touch colder and was uncomfortable. We had to get them to update the thermostat and then in the afternoon it was way too hot. We had food brought in from the hotel and it was all fine, nothing super memorable. There was soup at lunch but the sign didn't even say what it was - just "chef's choice." The Italian hoagies were way too big and needed to be cut in half, I couldn't even finish half of one. The salad with fruit/pecans/etc was my favorite though. They had the completely wrong password on the tables for the Wifi but thankfully we figured it out quickly that we just had to use the room password. The second day for breakfast, there was yogurt on the menu and even on the sign with all the food - but there was no yogurt. Some of my coworkers were specifically asking for yogurt so we had to request it directly because it was included and paid for. Box lunches to take to go on the second day which were fine, I had the chicken caesar salad wrap. Housekeeping didn't come to service my room until 5pm when I was in there getting ready for dinner, so I was not able to get the room serviced. Just asked them for some more coffee. My conditioner in the shower was empty but I didn't bother reporting it after the tv issue and I had my own conditioner with me, so used that. The lotion at the sink was so thick that I could not get it out of the bottle at all, I had to use q-tips to get it out (it was nice quality, just kinda useless if you can't get it out of the bottle lol). Great local offerings on the mini bar and in the fridge. My coworkers and I got a kick out of the "intimacy kits" because we were on a business trip haha. The Magic 8 ball was fun, I loved the conversation cards even though I just read a few of them to myself haha. Even with the bedroom upstairs, it was nice to have the big double closet in the bathroom hallway so I really was just in the loft to sleep and kept all my stuff downstairs. The location is great, lots of fun stuff right nearby. The courtyard is lovely. I would say this is a solid 3.5 stars but since we can't give half stars, I'll give it a 4 because the staff was overall very nice and quickly fixed any issues, just a little annoying that we had any issues at all.

Normally, I find hotel food is just okay and nothing special, but Coppin's was a pleasant surprise. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess, and our equally pleasant server quickly brought menus and asked what we would like to drink. When it was my turn, I happily ordered Coppin's Old Fashioned. I was the odd man out because everyone else ordered the Spring Manhattan. Judging by how quickly everyone's drinks disappeared, I'd say they were all very tasty. I was a little unsure about mine at first, so to make sure the quality and taste were consistent, I ordered a second, and it definitely was not a mistake. I ordered the B+G biscuits (which are made by hand according to server in the hotel) and gravy with an extra egg. Others at the table chose a variety of dishes, including the CVG, Cobb Salad, Bagel and Lox, and several other selections. Based on the clean plates all around the table, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. My wife ordered a sample of banana bread, and I was fortunate enough to snag a small bite, it was excellent. After we had all finished, everyone agreed that my niece had made an excellent choice for her graduation celebration brunch. As my wife and I made our way back to Louisville, we both commented that we would definitely return the next time we were in Covington.
