Sugo has some truly special pizza, and I love that I can try different flavor combinations by ordering by the slice. It's easy to order online for pickup, and the staff is friendly and the food is always ready by the time we arrive. There was a previously available pizza called the Ono, which was sort of their version of a Hawaiian slice with pineapple, Canadian bacon and Fresno chilies. I craved it with my entire being from the first time I tried it. So I was excited to try the Aloha slice, which is a spicier take on the concept. It was very good, but not as perfectly balanced as the Ono. Please Sugo, bring back the Ono! read more

Reminds me almost of super crunchy and less thick focaccia. I'M OBSESSED! I ended up trying the following flavors: Carnivora Slice, Contadina, Chorizo Pastor, Aloha, and the Rosa. Again, Sugo's pizza is so special and different compared to other pizzas I've had. The Aloha slice (mozzarella, Italian ham, fresh fresno chilis, green onions, sriracha aioli, pickled pineapple, furikake) was one of the best hawaiian slices I've ever had! Loved the use of prosciutto and the abundance of fresh pineapple, chilis, and green onions on top. Helped it feel more light and fresh compared to other pizzas! The Rosa slice (vodka sauce, purple onions, fresh basil, parmigiano) was simple, but delicious. No frills, no fuss, just a good base of pizza. I loved the vodka sauce with the sweet, crunchy purple onions. So simple, so good. The Carnivora slice (Italian sausage, pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, house made tomato sauce) was a delicious, meaty slice. Pepperoni is great, but man is there sausage good here! Definitely recommend getting a slice with sausage on it. The Contadina (italian sausage, caramelized onions, aged parmigiano and chopped chives) was one of my favorite slices. It had an inherent sweetness to it from the onions which was TO DIE FOR, especially since all the other slices were a bit salty. AND AGAIN, the sausage is amazing!!! The Chorizo Pastor (mexican spicy sausage, purple onion, pineapple, fresh jalapeno, jalapeno cream sauce and micro cilantro) slice was definitely the most unique one of them all. It was one of the most flavorful pizzas! AND IT HAD SO MANY TOPPINGS. AND IT'S SPICYYY. Love the burn. It tasted like a taco on a pizza. I think it is definitely fun to try at least once and I can see myself ordering it again here and there. my boyfriend and i came on a friday night around 6 and there was one person ahead of us. there's some seating inside and outside but the tables were quite dirty/sticky. the air inside also felt really thick and smoky which made it a bit hard to breathe, we ended up waiting outside. when it was our turn to order the man at the front was off to the side sorting things out and didn't acknowledge us at all. once he was finished he began taking our order, he wasn't very friendly and seemed quite dismissive. our 4 slices took around 15 mins, not too bad since they got quite busy after we placed our order but it unfortunately wasn't worth the wait. none of the slices we got were anything special, they lacked flavor, and came out a bit soggy/room temp than hot somehow. ranch was also watery. maybe we caught them on an off day but i don't really care to come back and see if that's the case. for the price ($34 for 4 slices and a ranch), i'd go elsewhere. read more

Finally tried Sugo for the first time and it did not disappoint!! Every pizza looked so good. We were trying not to overeat like normal so the hubby and I shared two slices. The lasagna pizza was a dream - felt like I was biting into a slice of lasagna, but then that light and crispy crust came in. I'm a big basil fan so if it had a little basil on top I would have said perfection. And the margarita slice is just a great classic with fantastic tomato sauce. I was with a friend around lunchtime on a Monday around 11:30 and drove by Sugo off Paularino next to the Mitsuwa Marketplace. We are HUGE fans of Chef Sandro and had to stop in. The place is small with limited indoor seating and a couple of tables outside. It also has an incredible selection of pizza's that are sold by the slice or you can order a whole one. When we were there, it was super busy, and everyone seemed to be ordering it by the slice. That's what we did. My friend had a slice of the pepperoni ($6.95) and I had a slice of the Calabrese ($6.95) that had tomato sauce, mozzarella, and spicy calabrese sausage. Both slices were large toasted to perfection and cut in half. They were absolutely delicious, and the crust is truly unique. Hot and crusty exterior yet soft and airy on the inside. The quality of the toppings is very high. Every one of the pizzas on display looked like artwork. These guys take a lot of pride in what they are making. A highpoint was the hostess, Jess. She was extremely friendly and very personable and perfectly described the uniqueness of the pizza and the house-made crust before we ordered. Before we left, we splurged and tried a dessert that consisted of two toasty warm slices of the pizza crust, topped with Nutella and fresh ripe sliced strawberries and fresh raspberries with a dusting of powdered sugar on top. My family and I have eaten at least twice now. We once Doordashed while staying over at the Marriott and Sugo came still pipping hot through DoorDash, and it was so yummy! That was the first time we tried Sugo. Then today, my mom and I stopped by and we got the Japanese, Meatball, and Contadina! Ooh, everything was so good! the flakiness and crunchiness of the crust was chewy yet soft and so flavorful on its own. I love the Japanese, for me it tasted like a takoyaki in pizza form!! So delish, tons of mushroom and umami! The meatball was recommended by Jess, the awesome staff at Sugo, and she was right. The meat was tender and juicy and the flavor just works so well! If my stomach was bigger I prob would eat one kind of each! I also love how they cut in half each of the slice for you. So convenient! Their pizza is also not drenched in oil like others places, and you can really taste the fresh ingredients they put on their pizza.
