Crab stuffed shrimp tasted like warmed up leftovers. Shrimp was like chewing rubber. Crab meat was tasteless. Same for crab fried rice, no taste at all. Sadly, my wife's birthday dinner was definitely not what we expected at Sullivans. Probably won't be celebrating special occasions here anymore! Steak was very good, the rest of the main meal was unremarkable , just ok. The key lime pie was the worst I have ever been served. It was so bad I couldn't eat more than two bites. But what was the worst was how sick I got that night and the next day. Sullivans has gotten some bad health department reports which I didn't know when we planned our celebration dinner. Too bad these reports aren't printed in the newspaper anymore. I do not recommend you eat there. read more

As a vegetarian, I love coming here. I get their iceberg, lettuce, wedge. And their side dishes. I order brussels sprouts, fresh, asparagus, cream style, spinach, and their wild mushrooms. Sometimes I get there three cheese Mac are there garlic, roasted potatoes. read more

I recently went here with a friend for happy hour. The cocktails were so good and the bar bites both yummy and reasonable.

DO NOT GO HERE! This place used to be amazing. However, there is a very clear problem with the "management" -- or lack thereof. With available staff not receiving any direction, what seemed like every customer complaining (so much so that the entire dining room was poking fun at the chaotic situation) and no leadership to be seen, the situation was almost laughable. "Almost" because this is supposedly a high-end prime steakhouse and they certainly charge the prices of a high-end spot. They were obviously over-booked and I can understand that these things sometimes happen in the restaurant world. There was no leadership addressing the situation, however. This caused chaos among this waiting in the bar area, entry way, hallway, bathroom area and patio. There was clearly a fire code violation. We waited over an hour and a half to be seated AFTER we arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation. Then we waited another hour and a half for food. This is not hyperbole; it actually happened. When we finally received our food (after my companion and I conceded to each other that the rest of our evening plans were ruined), her food arrived cold and my medium-rare porterhouse was egregiously overcooked. We left hungry (after spending the better part of four hours at this restaurant). We stopped by McDonald's on the drive home and while the food there wasn't great, we experienced competent and friendly staff. I have little doubt that the management of that particular McDonald's would have provided a better experience had they been the people running Sullivan's on this particular evening. This is pretty sad for a restaurant that was once considered elite. read more

Five minutes after studying the menu, the maître d swung by and replaced our lunch menus with dinner menus, saying they weren't sufficiently stocked with lunch items. Looks like our sixty dollar lunch was going to weigh in at one hundred forty. We then received a bonus menu, where we could have last night's Valentine dinner for two hundred fifty. I was looking at the dinner menu when the wife said "I'm not planning to come back here." So I decided to not let go of a single, discontinued penny. We made our way towards the door when the waitress cut us off with good news: "I spoke with my manager, and we are able to support the lunch menu!" I wanted to provide a message for the manager, but I didn't want to melt the poor girl's ears off. Sadly, that message isn't fit for typing here either. Flemings is fun, Le Rendez-Vous is romantic, and we're country club members accustomed to paying a bit extra, but Sullivan's is plain snotty and overtly slimy. The icing on the cake was the only other customer, a women who also experienced the menu switcheroo. She had left her table and was waiting in the lobby for her lunch companion to arrive, so they could go somewhere, anywhere, else. What? Horrible. I used to like this place. I used to be able to count on some sort of consistency. Service was good. Oysters Rockefeller were good. Sauce a bit runny but good.could not taste the oyster. I think there was one. Mushrooms were horrible. One bite and I could not eat them. A weird rancid flavor. The person I was with got a stomach ache from them an has been quite sick. Ordered steak medium rare. Came out blue to rare. Sent it back. They cooked it and it came back rare. The other piece was medium rare except part of the top 1/4 inch was well done and the rest medium rare. Not sure about the health code and if they are even allowed to take food back into kitchen to recook. If I recall, that is not allowed. But not sure anymore. Spinach was ok. Potato, baked was excellent. The cocktails were ok. Meat cut was a good quality. Too bad it was ruined. The béarnaise sauce was weird. An interesting adaptation but not edible. Not coming back. Contrary to other reviews, our service was amazing. Our waiter Luis was thoughtful and gracious, and attended to our every need. The manager Jen was accommodating with the issues with our food and basically comped our entire meal. That being said, the main meal was horrible. My wife had the crab stuffed shrimp. The shrimp was horribly over-cooked and basically inedible. I had the scallops which were grainy. my wife then ordered the brick chicken as a substitute. It was so incredibly dry. We couldn't even swallow one bite. We had ordered the lobster mac & cheese as well. The lobster literally tasted like tar, but the noodles tasted ok. We came here for our 8th wedding anniversary and we were disappointed They comped a good portion of our meal. But we will most likely never return. read more

Ambiance and service is pretty much all they have going for them. Our server Luis, was very attentive and when they severely overcooked my steak they sent the manager to inquire. The NY strip tasted like a chuck steak and was on par with a Denny's steak without the side of pancakes. The mashed potatoes were just mashed potatoes. The Ribeye was good but not exceptional. Home cooked medium Ribeye would be just as good. The alcoholic drinks were by far the best part of the night. We had the Dirty Bird, Coconut Tiki and a couple others. They were tasty and strong. It seems Sullivan's is getting by more on their reputation than quality. The other picture is of the trim in the restroom. A quality establishment would have the nails embedded in the wood and the holes filled with wood filler and painted over. Sometimes, it's the little things. read more

We had a reservation. When we arrived they told us the wait could be an hour even though I made the reservation 2 weeks ago. Then we heard someone complaining as they were leaving, saying that they were at their table for two hours, and had not received their food! So we walked out. Food Quality: 2.25/5 We got the Price Fixe. The lobster bisque (0.5/5) was a worse tomato soup- both tasted completely different. Mine tasted vaguely of applesauce and precooked lobster, and the second was mostly pepper. As for the steaks, We got a ribeye and the New York strip. The New York (1/5) was burnt entirely on the outside. The ribeye was a great quality meat cooked meh (2.5/5), there are much better steakhouses in Tucson. As for dessert we got the banana fosters (3.75/5) and the New York cheese cake (4.5/5). Both tasted exactly as expected, which was good. We also got the Cheesesteak eggroll, which was alright (3.75/5). However, the bread (4.25/5) was great. Service: 0/5 The servers were great and this score should not reflect on them. However, waiting an hour after your reservation to be seated is ridiculous. We Called before 7, arrived at 8:15, was seated at 9:05 , got appetizers and drink at 9:10, and finally at 10:20 we received our steaks. Dessert was served 10 minutes after Price per Quality: 0/5. 150 dollars for active disappointment. Other: 2/5 The ambiance is okay. Live music was too loud (at least the main microphone was) in the bar area and almost inaudible in the main dining area. Half of the decorum was from target/walmart. The food is excellent! From their appetizers to dessert, everything was prepared to perfection and was presented beautifully. Our server, Nicholas, was also excellent! Unfortunately this review doesn't concern the food because I never got the opportunity to eat. I had a reservation for four people at 8:30pm. We arrived at 8:20, I was told there was at least a 30 min wait. We saw people leaving, after waiting for over 20 min, people walked out and stated their reservation was at 7:15 pm (it was 8:45) and they were told they had at least another 30 min wait. I went to the receptionist, who stated there was at least ten parties ahead of us that needed to be seated (which would mean we would be waiting more than 30 min as stated when we arrived. We made the reservation believing we would be able to have a great meal. Being that this would have been our first time at the restaurant, we were really disappointed. What a mixed experience this was. The restaurant is absolutely lovely and extremely comfortable. We arrived on time for our 5:30 reservation, and were seated promptly. The manager was very kind and thoughtful, bringing our 4 year old colouring gear. The food was wonderful. Steaks were cooked just right, and delicious sides of creamed spinach and potatoes au gratin. The challenge was the service. Our server was marginal at best, and the food took much longer than it should have. Before we even got water, we specially ordered food (chicken fingers and fries) for our small child so as to keep her cared for so that we could enjoy our family time at a nice dinner. An hour later, I had to track down the manager to as why it had not been delivered yet. Our water glasses ran dry and were not refilled. French onion soup was ordered and delivered without a spoon. By the time we got a spoon the soup was cold. "OUCH" I really want to recommend this restaurant based on how good the food was. But, after spending over $400 for a dinner for four adults and one child, and experiencing inattentive service as we did I am reticent to do so. Will probably try again. I ordered my steak medium well with very little pink. When it came the first few bites were very good. as i got closer to the middle I realized my steak was severely undercooked. We went for a high school graduation dinner and they decorated the table to celebrate including a signed hand written card, that was surprise. Our food came out quickly. we've eaten here in 2016-2017 when we first lived in Tucson. We moved back to Tucson/Marana a year and a half ago and have been there 4 times; 2 celebrating with friends and 2 just to go to a nice steakhouse. the last 3 times, after being seated to our table, we waited at least 10 minutes before anybody came to the table to even offer water. Same thing this last visit, I actually had to stop someone to ask for water. Waiting longer, we then had to ask for a waiter/waitress to take our order, that was about 15 minutes into being seated. Management did come out and cover our drinks and dessert. Kindly over the food is good, I like my steak extremely well done with no pink they always manage to be able to cook it without making it tough and chewy, the flavoring of everything is done very well. We keep going back because the food is good but I'm not sure what the deal is why we have to wait so long to get anybody to come to our table to serve drinks or take our order. It makes us think it's just us. although the last time we were there with friends, it still happened. Do we recommend it for the food, yes, it is very good, but it is very pricey, so much so that if I weighed it against other steakhouses food, Saltgrass steakhouse is better as far as flavor of the steak and actually less costly. i wish there was a Saltgrass in Arizona! overall the Food is good: 5, Service: 3 for making us wait till we Asked for service the last 3 visits, Ambiance: 5. read more

Had dinner there for the first time in a long time. The food and the service was exceptional. Luis was our waiter and was extremely attentive and proactive. I can't say enough great things about him. Everything from top to bottom was so good, and it was a great atmosphere in which to celebrate our special occasion. Worst experience of our life for a fine restaurant ! They ruined my fathers birthday! We waited an hour to get a table which we understood because we didn't make a reservation. We then sat for 2 hours... 2 hours and still did not get our food. We were highly disappointed with the wait. Well, where to begin? How about when we walked in? There were three other parties at the hostess station. No hostess to be seen. After about 10 minutes, I determined there were actually 3 people rotating these duties. Instead of being greeted with a hello or Merry Christmas, she asked, have you checked in yet? When finally seated, it was another 10 minutes before our drink order. We were then informed entrees would take an hour. They were out of shrimp cocktail, baked potatoes and bread (those are what i could recall). Our salads never arrived and our entrees arrived after 90 minutes. There appeared to be enough staff. It was one of the worst "customer service fails" I have experienced. The steak was delicious but the sides were cold. This was an outstanding dinner! We went in for a birthday dinner and the service was amazing. Josh was our waiter and he was incredibly helpful. He walked us through the menu and told us what to get and what to stray away from. We ended up getting the calamari that had this sweet chili sauce and I would have never picked it myself but I'm so glad Josh told us to! It's been a long time since I've been to a HH this good. Renee, our bartender, was excellent as were the drinks. This should be a 4.5 star review except I can't do that. A five-star minus a half for the one person setting tables in the bar area.
