Amazing and authentic Mediterranean food! I would recommend the garlic dip and skewer combo

Growing up on the east coast we always had great access to gyros. Struggled to find a good one here in CO after we moved. Sultan is the best! Appetizer platter also smacks. Your wife won't want to kiss you after you try some of the garlic dip but DAMN it's good! Would recommend to anyone. read more

Maybe it's the west part of Arvada or something... maybe the same guy doubles at Sultan Grill also works at Las Potrancas... whatever it is, the shocking over use of salt is unbearable. To be fair, the hummus is super creamy if a little bland. The Greek salad with beef was tasty. The hummus with gyro meat was delicious. The chicken shawarma turned me into a withered slug on the floor and made my wife's ankles swell after one bite. Good lord, the salt!!! What's with the salt people? The shawarma is literally inedible. Straight in the garbage. I'll make some ramen or something. Gah! Even though they've remodeled this place recently, the food and service sucks. There is always ridiculously long waits regardless of eating in or having take outs. The food is terrible. I don't think the cooks ever had kabob before. They have their own version of kabobs which doesn't resemble anything I've seen before. Last time I paid $30 something for 6 side kabobs that it was so salty and burnt and terrible that even I couldn't give it to my dogs. I attached the picture of kabobs I got last time for $35. The restaurant is somewhat understated in a strip mall next to a few fast food places in suburban Arvada. However, Sultan Grill is a sit down restaurant with pretty heavy take-out activity. I placed a take away order of kafta kebab (ground meat mixed with spices) and lamb kebab (skewered pieces of lamb) which comes with a side of Pita bread, rice, hummus and a small salad. The kebabs were cooked to perfection and the entire meal was flavorful. The overall quality and quantity of food is also excellent. Thus, it makes sense that it's such a busy place despite its understated location! By the way, if you're looking for middle eastern food that is a little different than kebabs, I would recommend exploring the salad menu as well as the lamb shank meal or okra stew. Kids might enjoy the fries and appetizers. This restaurant has something for everyone! read more

We wanted something Middle Eastern and since Sultan Grill is nearest from the workplace, to Sultan Grill we went on Tuesday October 30th 2012. Dinner Time : 19:15hrs. When we first arrived to this establishment there is another couple dining in. This establishment seemed so "dead", so "quiet"... Is this a good sign? Or ???.. Hubs opt for the Lamb Curry ($11.95) while I opt for the Lamb Shank ($14.95). Our order comes with Pita Bread, Rice, Salad and Hummus. With all these, for the pricing of food and portion, it looks reasonable. We also ordered the Cheese Sambusek ($4.75) and Grilled Mushrooms ($4.95). I was surprised with Hubs choice of wanting to have Curry of all dishes. Our order comes out piping hot. A good sign in my books since I dont like any of my food order to be cold. The service was efficient and prompt. Perhaps there arent anyone else dining in at that hour. Our Salad and Hummus comes to our table. Salad comes with Lettuce, Cucumber, Tomatoes sprinkled with pepper and salt and a light dressing of somekind, nothing fancy. Hummus was just A-OKAY. Pita Bread Warm. I like the Cheese Sambusek. Maybe since I like anything cheesy, and with this Cheese Sambusek it reminds me of "Crab Cheese Wantons".. but with different fillings of Feta Cheese. I wish I could have more. Hubs like the Cheese Sambusek too. Yes, The Grilled Mushroms comes out piping hot. So be warned. The Grilled Mushrooms was a let down since for one, in the menu it was stated its marinated in special sauce and seasonings. What special sauce? What seasonings?? All I can taste was salt and pepper. *Sad Face* Next comes along our main entrees.... To my surprise when Hubs tasted his order of Lamb Curry, he LIKES it alot.. liking it alot until he said this Lamb Curry deserved 4 stars. One of the Best Curry he ever tasted in a Middle Eastern Establishment, Hubs whispered. Hmmm... I think Hubs is just hungry at that time and since the weather is a little chilly for him, everything he ate was good. Yes, the Lamb pieces are tender. The Lamb Curry comes with Carrots, Tomatoes, Onions and Green Bell Peppers. But personally, that's all I think about the Lamb Curry at Sultan Grill. Now for my main Entree of Lamb Shank. Standard Lamb Shank. The Lamb Shank is tender. Yes there are HUGE Chuncks of Potatoes, and Carrots in the Lamb Shank, broth was just A-OKAY. From the look of it, if I am not mistaken, the Lamb Shank was slightly on a smaller size as compared to other Lamb Shank dishes I ordered at other establishments. Rice has the hint of saffron. Overall Dining Experience : A-Okay with 3 stars in my books. With tax and tips our dinner cost $50. I ordered the gyro plate and lentil soup. The soup was bitter, tasted old. The gyro meat was over cooked and had no flavor. The rice also had no flavor. The pita bread was hard and stale, I don't think it was fresh...pretty sure it was pre-packed. But I do have to say, the hummus was delicious...but I wouldn't go again just for that. read more

Great food!! The gyro and falafel are spectacular, whenever I come here I get the falafel meal and gyro just the sandwich. It's the perfect amount for 2 people. It also only will run you about $25. Employees aren't bad, they can see you from their host chair so there are good about checking in on you and helping. Overall a great place to get Mediterranean in Arvada! read more

The hubs and I came here for a pre movie lunch date. We came late afternoon, during what I like to call "dunch" (dinner/lunch). We were the only ones in the restaurant so we got very prompt service. I opted for the chicken Shawarma and the hubs got the mixed grill. We started with hummus and pita followed by an app of fava beans. The fava beans came whole in a yogurt sauce. I haven't had them served that way before. Usually I've had them puréed which I like a little better. My chicken was very good. The garlic sauce/paste was so good mixed in with the chicken and rice. The hubs order of mixed grill was also delicious. I liked the ground beef skewer the best while he liked the lamb and chicken skewers the best. For dessert I got a slice of baklava which was a little dryer than other baklavas which I liked since it wasn't a sticky gooey mess. read more

Went in for the first time in a long time and was not disappointed. The food was as good as ever, which is to say it was delicious. I was greeted by a very cheerful young lady who was friendly as can be. The interior was clean and my order was out promptly. Nothing not to like. Makes me wonder why I hadn't been back in so long. (As for the reviewer Inna H who left the last review, it doesn't seem like she actually even visited and for her sake, I hope she doesn't have to atone for her own family's mistakes, unless they are all perfect people. First I want to say I know restaurants are hurting right now for staff yet what happened to us was not ok. I ordered via phone over $100 of food. Was told 30min till it was ready. When I got there they said 5 min, then it turned into 15, 25min then they realized they lost the order! So we waited another 30min and they said we can have a free meal. So we ordered the chicken kabob. Finally they hand us the chicken kabob, but it takes another 10 or more min to get the other meals. Then they said "we are running low on chicken, so we can't give you the complementary meal" and proceeded to take it away! They gave us a free dessert, without asking, and did not say sorry! The owner or manager never said or did anything. The lamb kabobs, we got 3 dishes, were all dried out and the gyro was little over cooked thick slivers. Love the lamb kabobs!! Been here many times and always great! the new remodel! Looks a lot cleaner and fresh!!! Just like the food! Its gives it a nice ambiance and calming feel. Food is ok but service was soooooo terrible. She was on headphone all the time and not friendly at all for the entire time we ate!! I gave her only 10% better than nothing but she charged me abt 20%. If it were my business, I would fire her. Just be careful of your money when you tip but I hope after she sees this post she won't do this to anyone again!! read more

Have ordered delivery thru door dash due to Covid on a few occasions. Sultan Grill is always consistent. The food comes hot; they do not skimp on portions and the ingredients they use are top notch and tasty. I particularly like the chicken schwarma which is tender and comes on a hot bed of perfectly cooked rice with saffron in addition to a delicious side of hummus and salad; don't forget to order the garlic sauce to dip the chicken; it's so yummy; the whole caboodle on one plate and delicious for takeout or delivery. I've been wanting to try this little hole in the wall for years! The cuisine didn't disappoint. We had the sampler appetizer platter, so we could try a little of the menu. It had the correct combination of various types of hummus, the garlic variety was especially delicious and the pita bread was endless! Next (totally unexpected) was a large, beautiful salad with a citrus vinaigrette which was just lovely and the tomatoes weren't bad for a November crop. By this time, we were quite satisfied and regretted we'd ordered dinner :( My partner received the chicken breast kabobs which he said ( I had a bite and I agreed) were very tender, not to mention the delicious yellow rice was more than ample! We enjoyed the same rice on the appetizer plate:) Next, I usually request the lamb shank, yesterday was no exception! The lamb was literally mouth watering, with additional rice! It was served in a red chili (not too hot) broth with carrots and onions etc. with more rice. There was plenty to take home for dinner tonight. Then we come to the downsides, the waitress/"hostess" was having a bad day, or something? She wasn't rude per se. Just disinterested, in her own world, very neglectful, and SLOW! No drink refills, despite asking repeatedly, we had to help ourselves, then she wanted to help HS ha! That usually gets some attention lol! Then it took forever to get anything we asked for, which was rather a lot because no ice was offered (the soda machine didn't have ice, and was very dirty! ) There was a big, poorly written sign that said "we are out of ice!" No s....! How about a repair person?By the appearance of the sign it wasn't written in November ha ha! No silverware, no plates, no napkins that were repeatedly requested and forgotten over and over! No silverware because "we are out?" Kabobs are fine with plastic ware, but not lamb or broth! Surprisingly, our food came out as requested except she switched our food, when we proceeded to tell her she didn't want to hear! She lacked the intestinal fortitude to pick up on us making eye contact for additional requests! I loathe consumers who yell, or snap their fingers at waitstaff, yet in cases like this it's sometimes warranted, we however remained composed! Our compliments go out to the wonderful chefs! However, the food was luke warm, a sure sign of waitstaff being neglectful, as I have never had cuisine in a Mediterranean establishment that was cold, it's usually prepped prior marinating in its special sauces; yum! Moreover, our appetizer was piping hot, with the exception of our bean salad, yogurt and hummus; which is obviously served cold! In her defense, it was a steady flow of consumers, eating in and waiting for food, but hardly unmanageable; if one is not more interested in their cell 'phone, a novel and a a LONG obvious personal call, while customers were getting up to find items Urgh! Despite the mountains of food left, she never once checked on us, we literally waited until almost closing time to ask for a box, and if we hadn't requested the bill, I'm sure she would have been happy with us not paying, as it appeared, she was done for the day by 6:30 pm when 9 was the official closing time! We still left her $5 on a $43 bill, because she didn't have a rude bone in her body! She was timid, which is not acceptable in the customer service world. I must note, she "appeared" very much as a young, beautiful, typical "American" young lady! However, we must rarely look at stereotypes as we are often incorrect. I personally thinks she just needs a little guidance from her employer, which should have been performed prior to the hiring process and observed frequently. That is on them, not her! Hint, hint! I did offer some advice rather politely, she apologized and said "I'm not usually like this, I'm having a bad day!" I apologized for jumping to conclusions, and offered a few tips, which she seemed to be quite happy with and thanked me! Yet, I had my doubts! What else would she say? "You got me, I did it!" (from flight with Jodi Foster). She didn't again "appear" upset when on her cell, or talking with friends who dropped in to see her, not eat! However, it's possible that other consumers that night, were not as patient as we were, although we didn't witness anything in the 3 and a 1/2 hours we were there, as I had to wait almost an hour for my partner to arrive! We will return at a later date to to give Sultan Grill another attempt to make an amends, as everyone deserves a chance to redeem themselves! read more

Sultan Grill used to be great, but not anymore. The quality of their food has been slipping over the past few years. Ordered a delivery a month ago, and all the meat that came with the order was charred, not fit to be eaten. We paid a lot of money for the order, plus the DoorDash exorbitant delivery fees, only to receive something that we couldn't eat. This place is tough. The food is definitely above average, but the service is awful and I can literally never call them. Every time I try, the line is busy...I once walked in and found the hostess on the phone with a friend, which is why it was busy. Overall, it's probably the best Mediterranean food in the area, but it's also the only option, which isn't saying much. So we have been going to this restaurant for years. The food is always good but the service is always distant. It was quirky, and the food was good. Of course with covid, delivery was now an option. So I placed an order and with delivery and tip it came to $93. We waited eagerly for delivery. Everything arrived on time, but there was no pita bread. I called quickly to see if we could get some pita delivered. "Yes, you should have gotten pita for the meals you ordered". "We don't have a delivery car available, can you come and pick some up?" Sultan Grill is one of the diamonds in City of Arvada's culinary gems. Our family has been going there for the past 10 years and gorge ourselves on hummus and garlic dip. The food that they make is good. Unfortunately their pita bread is a cheap store bought brand lacking in flavor. Their green beans are also obviously from a can and are not good. Their hummus is great and so is their white garlic sauce. I just wish they'd get rid of the canned goods and store bought items. I have eaten at this his restaurant many times. I ordered gyros and hummus. This comes with salad, rice and pita. My hummus and gyros came and after a long while after asking my salad came, but no rice or pita. Until my wife got up and asked the back of the house person I finally got my rice and pita. I asked what was going on and he apologized and told me they were busy. The waitress came and she too apologized advising me that she was new and the only one to serve.
