Very good food authentic turkish food. All my friends liked it. We sat outside and it was very pleasent. They turned out the heat for us.

Just this year we had a fabulous trip to Turkey and let me tell you, Turkish good is really godsend! Since we have been back, my husband and I were on a lookout for real good Turkish food and Sultan delivered and more! The Adana kabab was fantastic, just the right spices, mind you not hot, just the spice. For some it might not have enough heat but it is perfect Turkish food, really authentic taste. Even the white rice was tasty. The must try was the baklava. Oh wow! It was soooooo good, very much comparable to some of the good places in Istanbul. The food is really good. The only criticism is one of our party had to wait a long time for her meal when we all were already eating. Unfortunately there was a large group that came in while we eating. I like kids but these kids were running and screaming with no parental correction. A kid literally ran across the table wearing tennis shoes. If it were my restaurant I would have said something to that party. I am down rating them from 4 stars t 3 stars, because we order their food through Doordarsh and we pick up. EVERY TIME there are missing items, which we are still charged for. This time, they forgot fried and a side of shrimps. My daughter forget to check the order before she left, but usually she does and has to walk in again to get the missing items. If you have lived in Pleasanton anytime in the past 10 years, then you know Sultan's is one of the BEST places to get your Mediterranean fix. I've watched the restaurant grow from a small one room mom and pop to a successful business big enough to rent out the space next door. Everyone that works here is super friendly and helpful. I love any of their combo plates but my usual go to is chicken and lamb shish combo. Their rice and hummus is to DIE for and their meat is always cooked to perfection. I love their combo plate of dips and feta rolls for an appetizer. Everything on their menu is exceptional, you have to try their braised lamb shank, adana, and gyros at some point. Their hot sauce and yogurt dip is essential to dress the meat and salad. I also dipped my toe into trying Turkish delights here for the first time recently and I really like their cinnamon one and the chocolate one. Trust me, you will be back to Sultan's more than one time. The interior is nicely decorated and always clean if you choose to dine-in but it can definitely get packed around dinner. I have gotten takeout many times and it is still delicious that way. We ate at Sultans Kebab and I think it's very good. Order your food and pay immediately at the counter, wait staff brings your food to your table. It was fairly empty since we got there at like 5:20 and the food came out relatively fast. For starters we ordered dolmas, feta rolls (probably the best dish we had) fries and falafels... we wanted to try everything. They bring the starters out but didn't bring us individual plates I had to ask, no biggie. For main we I got the combo shawarma plate and the lamb shish-kabob plate. Both were good. Plenty of food nice atmosphere but a little too pricy for what it is. read more

Great service, delicious food! Their plates were tasty and HUGE! The restaurant is in a nice location with both outdoor and indoor seating. Once inside, the staff were welcoming and more than willing to help you through their menu. I had the lamb kebabs with rice it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Really excellent food for east bay... I mean it's not like you're suddenly in Istanbul, but really for Pleasanton, this is as close as you're going to get and it's reasonably enough priced. My dh loved his lunch--Lamb with salad, but my Lamb wrap was just ok, Lamb with no lettuce or tomato inside. The greens were on the side so the wrap was not soggy, and the Tzatsiki sauce was not added to the wrap. I ended up with my husband's bread and hummus because he was on a no carb diet. My company ordered from this place again. This time i tried the seafood combo with salmom and prawns. Let me get this out of the way, the rice was straight trash. Hard enough to break your teeth and had some wierd oil on it. I guess it was okay because they had to make so much because of a big order, but standards come on.. The prawns were very salty and the salmon was overcooked. Hummus was okay, but when you got into the bottom there was a pool of oil. I wish i got what i ordered the first time. read more

Love the new expanded Sultan's Kebab. It's much more than a takeout restaurant now. Perfect for a sit down meal with the kids, with easy-clean metal tables and chairs. We went for dinner earlier this week - the kids got lemonade, served in fancy metal cups (with up to one free refill), and we ordered three dishes, which we ate family style: - Lamb shawarma wrap $8.99 - Veggie Appetizer plate (with Falafel, Baba Ghannouj, Dolma, Piyaz, Tzatziki, Hummus and Tabbouleh) $10.99 - Ground Chicken Kebab Platter $11.99 We also got baklava for free with Yelp checkin. The food was delicious and the portions generous (we ended up taking almost a third back home). There was something for everyone. I especially enjoyed the Tzatziki and the Ground Chicken, my wife and older daughter enjoyed the lamb shawarma and rice, and our younger one liked the pita and falafel. And of course everyone loved the baklava! Sultan's is semi-self-serve so the prices are still quite reasonable - they bring the food to you and clear the tables, but one orders at the counter, gets ones own refills, and packs ones own doggie bags. Came here for lunch based on the reviews. It is a lively busy place with consistent traffic. You order at the counter and they bring out the food to you. It seemed like a pretty short wait and definitely worth it! I ordered the combo schwarma and BF ordered the combo kabob. With each plate you get white rice, salad, and a small hummus. We also used their coupon on Yelp for a free baklava. It could have used a little more hummus on the plate but overall good. The chicken and lamb was both moist and flavorful. This is based on the Covid-19 conditions limiting them to only take out orders. I went online to enter an order for immediate pickup using my Smartphone but it was kinda confusing. They've partnered with GrubHub and DoorDash and I found myself inadvertently using the DoorDash menu. So, just to be clear, I called them and gave them my order over the phone: 1. Adana Platter (similar to Kofte but spicier). 2. Seafood Combo Platter 3. Chicken Shawarma 4. Dolma 5. Pickles Everything was nicely and securely packaged up in divided Styrofoam clam-shell containers. It was all fresh and hot and I hustled home to partake of it while it was still fairly hot. I had the Adana and it was really quite nice and fairly spicy. My wife had the Seafood Combo and she was a happy camper. My son had the Chicken Salad and he, too, was satisfied. Each order came with nice, fluffy Basmatic Rice and a scoop of Tahini. My Adana Kebab was on a generous bed of grilled veggies. My Adana was moist and flavorful. We were all happy campers. The pickles were just the right amount of acidic sourness and tasted and felt like house-made. We were so full we never got into the Dolma. That will be for tomorrow. The total charge was $58, tax included and no tip. Each of the entrees were $12.99, each. When ordering online for pickup via their website, Grubhub or DoorDash, your order will be waiting for you all packaged up with the receipt and your name prominently displayed on the sealed bag. These pickup, prepaid orders on placed on a table inside the entry area and the customer simply picks up their package and it is a no-contact transaction - quick, simple and easy. The staff was great - smiling a lot, cheerful and very interested in serving their customers. Tip: Ask for some Sumac. I have been going to Sultan's Kabob for years now and whenever I go, it always hits the spot. This is a small hole in the wall place and they make great kabobs - which is what you want over here! Whenever I go I always get either the chicken or lamb shish kabob - if I am confused between the two I just get the combo! This also comes with rice and salad and hummus. As a long time Sultan Kebabs customer I never dreamt I would be writing a negative review. The issue is not food quality but rather customer service. Maybe it's my fault being lazy and ordering for delivery when I live only 5 minutes walking distance from the restaurant. We received notice of delivery for 6:15 . At 6:25 I checked my porch just in case the driver failed to knock, but there was no delivery. At 6:30 I checked again only to catch the delivery person walking back to his car after he'd placed my order at the front door without knocking or ringing the doorbell bell. When I called out asking why the delay the driver looked confused and replied "no espanol" This was interesting since I had inquired in English not Spanish. I brought my cold food inside and called the restaurant to report a delivery issue. The first person I talked to told me it was not a restaurant issue because the driver had sat in his car for several minutes before picking up the order. When I asked to talk to a manager I was put on hold for several minutes before another person came on line and after a short discussion told me that even though I had called the restaurant number to place the order and had no direct contact with the restaurant's delivery agent , it was a Doordash issue not the restaurant's problem. read more

I was waiting 15-20 minutes for a to-go order of garlic feta fries and I just wanted to check in and see what the status was and it was almost impossible to get a hold of anyone and when I did by waiting patiently and not pushing, I was met with exasperation that I was even checking in. The fries had been ready too, no one had delivered them to my table. Items Ordered: - Chicken Kebab Plate (5/5): Excellent plate! The meat tasted great and the rice was a good portion. I also enjoyed the salad. Make sure you mix the sauce you want into it or else it will be a bit dry.
