    Grilled Chicken Club

This spot was the most appealing in terminal 2, so glad I stopped here before my flight. Food was good, the grilled chicken club was very tasty. Fries were meh but filling. The workers here are very nice and proved fast service! Would recommend stopping for some food when in terminal 2!

Airport food places always get a really bad rap for some reason. Honestly I usually love airports and haven't ever had a super terrible meal at any airport. Summer House was definitely a 5 star for me. I was walking towards my gate and noticed this bright spot with beachy vibes, so I stopped to look at the breakfast menu. I saw some healthier sounding options, so I ordered the spinach and kale omelet that comes with toast and crispy hash browns. My order came out quickly (within 10 minutes), I was asked if I needed a bag to carry it with me, and I grabbed some butter and hot sauce that were conveniently located right at the pickup area. There is a nice amount of seating right at Summer House so I found a spot and dug in. The omelet was honestly really good - super hot and fresh, and the eggs were fluffy and not overcooked. I didn't notice a ton of cheese, but it did have cheddar and spinach. I appreciated that the hash browns were actually crispy and nicely seasoned. The toast was multi grain and tasty, and the butter cup was the perfect amount for me (a lot, because I love butter a lot). I'm really happy with this spot and would definitely stop by again. They also have lunch and dinner options - the fish tacos caught my eye.

As a celiac, having gluten free options was amazing! Incredibly kind and knowledgeable service from DJ, delicious food, and lovely ambiance to enjoy during our 4 hour layover. Thank you DJ for your help and attention to detail!!

Grilled Surfer Style Baja Fish Tacos, Jalapeño Business Paloma

Located in the main hall of Terminal 2 in O'Hare, this restaurant was pretty busy. With a very long layover, I did not let that deter me, but the wait wasn't too bad anyway. You can choose to either dine in with table service or order at the counter to take away. I sat at the bar because I was trying to prolong the experience to kill time, but the food comes in disposable packaging either way, so unless you want a drink or just really want a table there, I would recommend ordering at the counter to get in and out faster and avoid having to tip a waiter. I had a virgin jalapeño business paloma, the baja fish tacos, and an apple oatmeal cookie. The virgin paloma wasn't super strong, but that was fine with me and not unexpected when ordering an off-menu virgin version of a cocktail, I just thought it sounded refreshing, and it was. I thought the fish tacos were really good. The fish was tastefully seasoned, the toppings and tortillas were fresh, and I really liked the salsa. I enjoyed the cookie too, really nice texture and not too sweet. All the cookies were huge! I ate half and am taking the rest home. The bartender was nice and it seemed like there was a good vibe among the staff. It was a pleasant experience. The meal came out to $30. The drink ($5) and cookie ($3.5) were pretty reasonably priced, the tacos ($19) may have been a little on the expensive side, but not outlandish for 3 decently-sized tacos.

Trendy little spot in the city. The service was pretty good and the food was yum. I got the Wilshire Blvd Cobb Salad. That was pretty amazing. And the desserts are pretty great. The bathrooms are clean. There is not a lot but street parking. In the city. IYKYK

Food was good quality for airport. Grab and go and sit down so its very nice and is self service if you need to pay bill and run to your flight. Plamen also deserves a big raise he was running his butt off getting everyone seated and serving tables. Enjoyed my exp

For an airport restaurant - they definitely met our needs for food - where we have some folks with specific dietary needs...no dairy, no gluten, low carb etc. And the service was great!! They opened promptly at 7am per the sign, even before that time, we could see they were busy prepping in the kitchen. They seemed very organized and planful, which ended up translating to a great experience for us. I only wanted hasbrowns, which were different - served as a cube, but they were perfectly tender and crispy, not greasy and great flavor. I loved mine. Colleagues ordered eggs and bacon - they were very clear that they could accommodate a strict no butter request. She didn't get sick, so they definitely delivered on that promise. My other colleague was able to substitute more eggs instead of carb - slight up charge, but not egregious. I did feel bad for the server as she was serving all 10 tables, but she was pleasant and moved efficiently. The cost wasn't too bad. I would definitely recommend this location for food if you are crunched on time.

Service was good, but I would honestly not recommend this location. The menu doesn't include classic summer house items like the salmon / typical breakfasts items and the QR odering system makes it hard to make changes on your order. The Baileys Espresso martini was good and i ordered the traditional egg sandwich (0/10). I didn't love that i ordered food 'for here' and was given it in a togo box + plastic silverware. I also had to switch seats because the faux plants were so filthy i kept coughing.

We stopped here during a 2 hour layover. Plenty of time for a glass of wine and a beer. Full service or counter service, your choice. We went with full service since we had time. I noticed the food is retrieved from the counter by the waitress for full service, so it's the exact same food. All food arrives in a cardboard takeout box, regardless of type of service. There was one waitress to cover the small dine-in area. She was not the friendliest, but service was efficient and sufficient. Plastic cutlery, salt & pepper are in paper packets, as is the ketchup. Water is served in plastic cups, and only on request. I need to eat gluten free, and there is no gluten free menu. I am not celiac so I just ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and removed the bun. It was delicious! Fries are good too. My daughter's burger looked good as well. Being in an airport, it wasn't particularly clean or quiet. But it was nice to sit down and kill some time. Nice selection of salads and sandwiches.

Breakfast sandwich with avocado - literally one slice of tomato, egg omelette, and one slice of avocado for $11.49.

The salsa's they give you are delicious, and the red one has a smokiness that makes it a stand out. There was a crowd when I got there, but after many people had recommend this place to me, I knew I had to try it. Plus the centralish location definitely helps, my gate was in the C concourse but tortas fronteras is located pretty close to it so it wasn't much of a detour. They also have plenty of seating, but I took my food to my gate. I got the mushroom quesadilla, it was STUFFED. Despite the crowd I didn't have to wait too long either- probably took only 15 min. The quesadilla itself was delicious and super cheesy, but with the salsa itself was even better! Next time im flying through o hare I'll definitely come back!

Now they use a conveyor belt style method similar to fast food pizza joints. The bread doesn't come out as solid and the ingredients have changed as well. My go-to option was always the Cubana. It tasted like ones you can get in south Flordia. Now, it still tastes good but very comparable to any other joint that serves it. The service is still made-to-order and they alot 15 minutes to make the dish. If you're in a hurry, do not order from here. They do allow dine in as they have a limited amount of dining tables and access at their bar. One good thing about this place is they source some of their ingredients locally.

Then my hubby said their tortellini salad was a hit. I ordered my sandwiches and then walked around, taking in the location/store that my hubby had so many memories at. I see there is an area with slots in the connecting room next door. Upon arriving home only to find there was not any Italian dressing on either sandwich or surprisingly in the salad. The sandwiches and salad were dry until we added our own Italian dressing, and the salad is spicy, not refreshing at all. It wasn't until we finished eating that we did a search and found that the family sold the store a while back due to the passing of the original owner. We can say we tried it but will not return. Simply not the same.

Well I took Friday off and made this a bucket list to make a comparison to Old School Manny's deli…read moreand cafeteria. Surprisingly the food for their corned beef deli is delicious in another way. Quality was good it's not as greasy or thick as Manny's corned beef which you'll have a food coma if you ate a whole corned beef or pastrami sandwich over there here the way they make their sandwich is similar to Jason's deli if anybody remembers Jason's deli. Jason's deli was not bad but it wasn't greasy if you're the type that likes greasy salty corned beef if it's done right like Manny's then that's what you should go otherwise if you don't like that feel this might not be a restaurant or cafeteria to eat at. The corned beef in regards to quality their Mile high corned beef was light and delicious it's fresh too just like Manny's but not greasy and heavy. I have seen this on Facebook as well and they're Italian versus being a kosher Jewish and they've been around too but not as old as Manny's since they've been around since 1960 whereas Manny's has been around since 1942 and is as old as my parents. Ambience was very casual and friendly it was my first time I had a dress to the cashier it's not really a cafeteria style but you can still sit down and eat I would most likely come back also because of the prices since Manny's tends to be expensive for their sandwiches. This was expensive too but then again I ordered a chili and a tiramisu I was going to get a potato salad just to find out they had soups. If you're around Franklin Park in like Mom and Pop delis this is another good option and don't want to drive to Chicago for Manny's and an alternative to Jason's deli in oakbrook or in Chicago surprise I did not know the other Jason's deli at the four stars. Being an Italian deli it's going to be a bit more limited to certain kosher dishes so don't expect to have knish or matzo ball soup but they will have chicken noodle soup.

I remember it was a gem and couldn't wait to go to their airport cafe during my layover in Chicago. I walked and walked and walked to reach the Berghoff Cafe. It is located in Terminal 1, Concourse C, near gate 26 and it was TOTALLY WORTH THE WALK! Of course, I had the REUBEN. The fellow sliced up several thick slices of REAL corned beef and put it on homemade rye bread and added sauerkraut and Swiss cheese. He pressed it in a panini press. Then added the Thousand Island dressing. This was served to me in a TO GO BOX along with a pickle. It was absolutely delicious and very filling. The atmosphere was very nice with wood tables, a wood bar, checkered floor, etc. I wish though, that my EAT IN ORDER was placed on a plate. Everyone was eating out of boxes. This didn't fit the ambiance. THIS WAS THE BEST REUBEN I have had in years!! Warm, Delicious, Flavorful and Filling!! I highly recommend the Berghoff Cafe!! For the COMPLAINERS, why would you order a quesadilla at a German restaurant? It's like ordering fish at a steakhouse.
